EvangelineOne bad decision would change my life forever. I couldn't have anticipated when I walked home from work that night that I'd bear witness to the murder of our city's most notorious gangster. The bad guys didn't notice me at the time, but I sure have their attention now. I've sacrificed everything with one goal in my life, to be a doctor, and to save lives. Nothing, not the criminals who walk our streets or Detective Michael Hill, the mule-headed cop determined to protect me, is going to get in my way.MichaelI took a vow to defend and serve. First, in the marines, and now, as a Detective for Lake Ansley PD. Women and romance have no place in a life like mine. But from the moment I laid on eyes on Dr. Evangeline Williams, she's sparked every protective instinct I have. Smart, stubborn, and a little bit of a badass; I can't help it if she reminds me of myself. If I keep showing up at the same places as her, it's only to keep her safe. I don't do relationships after all. However, I'm not the only one watching her now. Evan is such a beautiful, fun soul. I loved that she loved her job and wasn’t a damsel by any stretch of the imagination. But she wasn’t too hard that you couldn’t love her and connect with her either. Michael was the tough, alpha male. But also had a kind, sweet side. It just took a bit of searching to bring it out. Together these two were everything. There was lots of back and forth and give and take. But in the end, the chemistry and pull between them both was too intense. And they fell. They fell hard. And they fell fast.

The story was brilliant and had me hanging on to each and every word Faye breathed out upon the pages. I had this story in a white knuckled grip at every free moment. The story was a rush and had me on the edge of my seat towards the end of the book. And that romance? Holy hell was it ever savage and wild. It set everything inside of me ablaze. Beautifully, brilliantly and wonderfully done!!

Completely and utterly blown away by this amazing story, I loved every freakin’ second I was immersed in this story and entangled up with Michael and Evan. Faye absolutely killed it!! Give this book all the stars!!

I really enjoyed this story. There was plenty of action, danger, thrilling moments, giggles, cockiness, and love. Evangeline "Evan" was a very strong woman, determined to be responsible for herself and her future. I loved her willingness to put herself in danger to help a shooting victim. Michael was very sure of himself and had quite the knack for taking charge. It was so sweet when he interacted with Evangeline as he showed a softer side. With bullets flying and an atmosphere strained between the FBI and the police, these two found a way to fall in love. I recommend this story.

I received an ARC of this story through The Hatters Blogger Group, and this is my unsolicited review.

You know when you finally find 2 puzzle pieces that click together and then you find their spot in the world, that is Micheal and Evangeline characters. They just click. The suspense had me at the edge of my seat. The banter had me turning the pages.

This was a new to me author and one I'll definitely be reading more from.
This book was huge in the very best way, the plot and characters will keep you riveted from cover to cover. For such a huge book the ending felt a bit rushed/not followed up on, but there is a reason for that, one which I'm excited for as didn't want to say goodbye to the characters yet, so will eagerly be waiting for the author to announce her plans.
I guess I'm a sucker for details and if I've spent hours reading something, falling in love with characters and plot, I hate waiting for the aftermath.
In saying all of that definitely reccomend so you can be on tenterhooks with me.

Holy Moly! Talk about starting off a series with a bang! This has thrills, spills, sexy times, and straight-up Hepburn & Tracey Vibes. When I wasn't alternately mad at the leads for being so stubborn, I was laughing at their antics! Talk about over-protective and mule-headed!

Evangeline is intelligent, an ER doctor, and a pocket sized dynamo. She is not afraid to bring people down to the floor to make her point! I loved her little family and that friend of hers - OMG we all need a wing-woman like that.

But being a kick-a&&, bada&& doctor does not preclude her from being a prize plum - and taking her life into her hands after making a risky decision. Now she has to face the consequences and the hulking wrath of Det. Hill.

Michael is ...OTT. He's intense, he's hulking, he's a bada&&, he's a former Marine and one hell of a detective. His mere presence makes felons confess! The nickname Mad Mike is well earned! But when he meets Evan at a crime scene his every instinct is to protect her. He inserts his foot into his mouth on many occasions and makes a prize pratt of himself but all the OTT comes from a good place.

The secondary characters are great, I loved that they were all fully fleshed and had a purpose and weren't just there to fill up the pages. I need to know more about the Uncles, they are hilarious.
And Tim, I do hope he gets together with a certain Bestie permanently.

An Intense storyline, fabulous characters, and I really liked the fact that it wasn't one of the usual big cities of LA or NY. Go Kansas! My one gripe - Why are we Scots the baddies -again LOL?!?!?

As soon as I heard the author mention the plot details, I just knew this book was for me. Pre-ordered it immediately because it contains all the elements I love in a book.
Two awesome main characters, a gritty heroine who is an emergency room doctor, and an alpha male who leads the cities' investigative unit. Mix in colorful supporting characters, danger, murder, romance, hot sex and an author with a wicked imagination...you end up with a 5 Star read.
I freaking loved this book.

Evangeline who I like to call Evan kicks off this story with a rather unwise decision. But that's Evan, she does things her own way and has her own damn mind. I freaking love Evan, she's strong, highly intelligent and as Mad Mike calls her, a true badass.
Well, it's that bad decision that leads to the meeting between Evan, Mad Mike and the colorful supporting characters. I love that Michael's crew nicknamed him Mad Mike.

These two aren't your typical pairing, both of these characters put their job first which adds to the story. Their attraction may have been instant but the author gives the reader enough chapters to enjoy the slow burn of the two getting together.
There's so much to say, but I don't want to spoil any of the surprises for those thinking about reading this book/series. It's truly an addicting read.

I can not wait for the second book.

Action packed suspense:
I enjoyed this book and found myself eagerly turning the pages in order to find out what was going to happen next. I especially enjoyed the investigative and suspense aspects.
Evangeline was feisty and fiercely independent. After witnessing a drive-by shooting, she suddenly found herself a target of the mob. Meanwhile Michael was the intense detective assigned to the case who couldn't help falling for the person he was supposed to be protecting. I enjoyed the banter between these two and how over time they were able to soften out each other's edges.
Unfortunately this needs more editing as there were a lot of mistakes, which were distracting. It ends with a happy for now, with Evan and Michael's story continuing in the next book in the series and I look forward to seeing what other trouble awaits them.

I think that I liked Evangeline‘s character the most. She sure is like a mini piece of dynamite backed into a professional, tender-hearted ER doctor. Both she and Michael really set this series off with a bang and a LOT of action. Michael was definitely the more typical alpha male and he was definitely a bit more ok stubborn for me at times, but between the two of them, I very easily fell in love with the plot. I have t read a ton of books by Amanda Faye, but I am really glad that I picked up this one as it was the next book that I’ve read all week.

Michael is mine!!!

She does it again. I always love Amanda Faye’s writing. She has a way with words that make me feel like I’m apart of the story instead of reading it.

Michael is my man, do you hear me. The way he loves and wants to protect her gave me so much life. I can’t wait for book two.

Great job!

Heart-pounding action

Wow! Amanda Faye’s foray into suspense has paid off! This story is both heart-pounding and heart-warming, with action scenes that leave your heart racing. I loved Evan’s snark and Mike’s toughness, and together those two are dynamite!

I love a good book with strong characters and Bulletproof has the best. Eva has witnessed a murder. But rather than hide or make stupid decisions, she faces danger head on and takes her oath as a doctor fearlessly. Michael is the typical alpha hero, but has his weaknesses and one of them is Eva. Loved the suspense, the romance and the edge of your seat, non-stop action.

A feisty, hardworking Doctor meets a possessive, alpha Detective and the fireworks begin.

In the middle of a fight, she wasn't looking for one night when walking home from a shift, Dr. Ethan Evans stumbles into something dangerous and life-threatening.

The detective and the doctor are both hard-headed and frequently butt heads when it comes to keeping Ethan safe while Michael and his team try and figure out who is behind the hit the good Dr witnessed.

A seriously fun story that will keep you on your toes the whole way through!

Amanda Faye is a new to me author & I have to say that I'm glad that she's finally on my radar. Bulletproof is one of those stories which is totally my jam because of the suspense aspect which is my favorite. Poor Evangeline (aka Evan), she's a doctor so a healer but when she's at the right place at the wrong time, her life is totally thrown into chaos. However despite the danger, she also comes face to face with Michael Hill, the detective on the case that she was accidentally dropped into, so now the intense cop is her protector. She's a dynamo, while he's an OTT protector making for some fantastic pull & pull that shoots sparks in every direction. I've talked about the suspense already, but what I didn't state was the twists that got the f-bombs dropping. Heat, edge of my seat, and two characters that I want more of, yeah you can't go wrong. Thankfully, there's more to come & I'm HERE FOR IT! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Micheal met Evangeline at a crime scene, she being the only witness to a drive by shooting. As a doctor she was used to saving lives but this was one she could not save. Micheal was not prepared for meeting a woman like her, calm and not taking orders even under these circumstances. She challenged him in ways unknown to him and makes him long for things he never wanted before. The attraction between them simmer just below the surface but her safety is his first priority and he will do anything to keep her safe because he quickly realized that she is his becoming his reason for breathing. This book had me hooked from the first page, well written and I loved the characters. I look forward to reading the next books in the series.

Evangeline is an ER doctor, she is a strong woman. She witnesses a murder and is now in the sights of some really bad people. Michael the man everyone dreams about is totally alpha and he is a detective and is trying to keep Evangeline safe. He does not date, ha. This is a great wonderful story. The characters are both strong and have a great supporting cast. The premise is thought out and well written. I absolutely loved this book and could not put it down. I am patiently waiting for book two. This is a great story.

One hot copy and one feisty Doctor make for an entertaining read

BulletProof is the first book in The Doctor and The Detective series by Amanda Faye. I am used to reading novellas by this author so I was not sure what to expect with this full length novel. The author has done a really good job with delivering this well written book. The story-line was intriguing and the characters of Evangeline and Michael are fabulous together. There are a lot of elements mixed to in this book but they balance with each other to deliver a very engaging and entertaining reading experience.

I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Evangeline witnesses a murder on a night like any other night. Because she is the only witness, she gets to meet the officers in charge of the case. She meets Michael and her world is changed.

Michael is a hard ass cop who takes his job seriously and is known as a no nonsense type. When he meets Evangeline, there is something about her that draws him to her.

As the case begins to unfold, Evangeline finds herself in danger and Michael will stop at nothing to keep her safe. I look forward to to reading the next book.

I have read this book so many times I can quote it by heart. To say I love this story is an understatement.
Amanda Faye has a winner of a suspense story on her hands. It's fast paced and hard hitting with characters that jump off the page.
Michael, the no nonsense cop meets his match when Dr. Evangeline - Evan -shows up covered in blood at one of his crimes scenes. The minute these two meet sparks fly and the pages sizzle. Amanda keeps you glued to the page from start to finish. If you want a can't put down book to read, grab your copy of Bulletproof NOW!

Evangeline and Michael are very strong, determined badass characters with terrific backstories. When she sees something she should not have, Michael comes into the picture, each learning to trust and respect the other. So much action is this story as well as twists and suspense. You will not be able to stop reading as it keeps you on the edge so much of the time. Amazing how one piece of the puzzle can break the entire thing wide open. Loved the ending, I can almost feel the depth of their connection. Can not wait to read another story by this author.

This is a new author to me and I definitely will be reading more from her!! She develops her characters well and the storyline is intriguing and suspenseful. Michael is an alpha male with a heavy dose of stubbornness. Evangeline is a little piece of dynamite packed into an ER doctor. The chemistry and banter between these two is off the charts. I can’t wait for more of this series!!

This detective romance was full of little characters development and little explanation of the comflict. I enjoyed that Micheal and Evangeline relationship was a stead growth. The concept of the story is great.. Connecting the points and story was hard for me to keep up with
