Adrianna Dane (who also writes as Tess Maynard) has been putting pen to paper since the age of ten. She currently resides in the state of Washington and is a member of Romance Writers of America, EPIC. and Broaduniverse.

The first defining love story Adrianna read back in junior high school was "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte, and that set her on the road to her long standing love affair with the romance genre. Her inspiration in writing often can be found by listening to song lyrics and reading poetry by such poets as Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Edgar Allen Poe, and Ranier Maria Rilke. But finding inspiration for her stories truly has no boundaries for Adrianna.

She freely admits she is a romantic by nature and adding sensual heat to romance with a dusting of suspense is her motto. "Esmerelda's Secret" released by Amber Quill Press in June of 2004 was Adrianna's first book, and with that story and her subsequent books has firmly established herself as a voice within the sensual/erotic romance genre.

Adrianna always looks forward to hearing from her readers and she may be contacted at adriannadane@yahoo.com. Find out more about her current releases as well as planned future releases and book signings by checking for updates at her website periodically.

When I first started reading Lonely Hearts by Adrianna Dane, I immediately fell in love with Caleb. He’s not afraid to be himself. He’s proud of his sexual orientation. He’s flamboyant and has a very quirky sense of style which I loved and he runs a very successful business.

I loved him.

I had a slight problem with the other hero, Jim. It’s not that he wasn’t physically beautiful or smart. He even has some charisma that I really enjoyed. There was just something about him that rubbed me wrong a little. His reasoning for staying in the closet because of his devotion to a father who had obviously stopped caring about him or anyone else didn’t seem right to me. His self loathing and self destruction bothered me at times, but I hung in there with him. I’m glad because I ended up liking him and although I’m not sure if he deserves sexy and savvy Caleb, I ended up being very pleased and happy with how everything came together for them in the end.

3.5 stars, but since I LOVED Caleb I'm giving it 4 stars :)

Caleb and James are two opposites that need each other to make a whole. At least that is theory. Caleb is actually a pretty well rounded guy who is just looking for love. James is a mess.

Caleb is lonely wedding planner with a hopeful heart. James is a closed off, closeted businessman suppressing his soul and riddled with guilt. Caleb is alive to James in a way that is utterly foreign and incomprehensible to James.

James should have been just tortured and lonely enough to empathize with but I didn’t connect to him. As the story unfolds and after some belief changing revelations, frankly, I don't know how James can have any kind of meaningful relationship without some serious long term therapy.

Character issues aside (which are totally subjective anyway) the continuity issues made it very difficult to follow. I had to go back to re-read in several places because several chapters later the story being told would completely contradict what was said several chapters back. I never did reconcile the two.

For instance, does James just have sex once a month like he says several times or does he have random sex at his club also as is described later on? Was his first time with a man with the Count or was it with the threesome he had while the Count watched? I am still confused. Maybe I did miss something although I looked for the answers.

Potential "Ick" factors summary: No ménage, no bdsm (although one of the sex scenes is a power struggle that was hot even if it did make James look so messed up), no blood sport, no humiliation and no public sex. The eventually relationship between the Count, James and the rest of his family is disturbing though.

4 Stars!! I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It's an easy read with a wonderful ending, and it leaves one with a warm feeling of hope and joy. 5 Nymphs!! Adrianna Dane blew me away with Lonely Hearts. I got what I was expecting and then had a heaping helping of suspense thrown into the mix. ... I absolutely loved the characters in this story. ... The lovemaking is scorching, and will leave a few pages turned up at the edges... Caleb Wilson knows all about happily ever after. After all, his hugely successful company, Enduring Vows, never fails to pull off the perfect wedding or commitment ceremony. Yet while he’s seen countless others find true love, Caleb has never met the one. But all that changes when Caleb meets Jim Morgan.

Haunted by his past, Jim goes through life trying to atone for his perceived sins by outwardly being the perfect son his father wants him to be, his only relief found in brief encounters with strangers. Then Caleb walks into his life and Jim’s world is turned upside down. Jim has never met anyone quite like Caleb. The wedding planner is everything Jim is not – colorful, romantic, and warm. He’s exactly the kind of man Jim needs to avoid and he’s everything Jim cannot resist. The question is, will Jim resist giving into the temptation Caleb presents? Or will love be able to overcome the obstacles separating two lonely hearts?

There are few things more wonderful than reading a book that completely captures you, heart, mind, and soul. Lonely Hearts was such a book for me. Adrianna Dane has written a story that is beautiful, sensual, emotionally engaging, and impossible to put down.

From the first, Jim and Caleb wound themselves around my heart and didn’t let go. Jim’s loneliness, his self-imposed emotional isolation, is heartbreaking to read. I ached to see him try and push Caleb away and loved that he couldn’t bring himself to completely do so. What’s more, I loved Caleb for his patience, for both being there and for stepping back when Jim needed it, and also for being firm about what he needed from Jim. Caleb also charmed me with his romantic nature; his presence was like sunshine, lighting the book to keep it from ever being overwhelmed by Jim’s torment. In this, Ms. Dane shows her mastery of balance, which I admire greatly. It’s that balance of light and dark, frustration and optimism, and love and adversity, which makes Lonely Hearts a compelling read. I couldn’t stop reading the book because I was desperate to see Caleb and Jim find happiness.

It would be unfair to write about Lonely Hearts without mentioning the love scenes. Jim and Caleb not only warmed my heart, they practically lit fire to the page. Ms. Dane skillfully blends any combination of passion, eroticism, tenderness, and heat to deliver some seriously sizzling scenes.

I Joyfully Recommend Lonely Hearts. It’s tender without being sappy, romantic without being sugary, and was so enthralling that upon finishing the story, I immediately read it again. A perfect gem, Lonely Hearts is not to be missed.
