If I'm being honest, it was an okay read but I didn't like it. The idea of selling one's virginity in an auction is something that irks me for some reason, but I was able to look past it and even enjoy this concept, slightly. My main problem with this novella was the main characters. If I somewhat liked them in the first half, I found them annoying and boring in the second half.

Marshall was protective, possessive and definitely OTT. I liked the way he was described; hard features, strong, not necessarily the best looking guy but dominant. He was pretty sexy in the first half but then he became unhinged and a bit cringe. Some of his lines were just not it...I also could've done without the uncle thing. He was the foster brother of Lexie's mom, and he'd never met his foster niece before. So they are not related by blood, but I was still very uncomfortable with how everything went down.

As for Lexie, she spoiled this story for me. Her inconsistance of character really bothered me; her personality was confusing. The girl was a virgin and supposedly nervous at the auction, and then when she meets the hero, she became all sultry, bold, and winking. Oh! and somehow, first time she ever touched a manhood, she does everything perfectly, knows exactly what to do without hesitation, and even deepthroats the mothertrucker without gagging and whatnot, it was just so unrealistic and it really put me off. But you know, she was a natural 🙄 Please, atleast tell me she watched a lot of adult movies or something. The fact that she didn't need any guidance really irked me. Add to that her immaturity and her making assumptions, I just couldn't stand her.

I appreciated that we got some development before having them getting down to business, if you know what I mean. But somehow, even with the time they took to know each other, I still didn't feel chemistry between them.

I hadn’t seen this story line before and thought it might be interesting. I read the sample and hoped it might get better, it didn’t. A pretty trashy story with cartoon characters.

The author thinks that by making the hero swear a lot and threaten people that he’d come across as tough — at the auction he bids —

“xxx thousand. And if any of you motherfuckers place another bid, you better have your fucking affairs in order because I’m going to beat the ever-loving shit out of you.”

I’m sure that language just intimidated the sh*t out of all the other high rollers at the auction in Texas when their all carrying guns.

Another priceless piece of bravado when the big tough guy thinks:

“It pisses me off, the hold they’ve got over her. She’s nineteen years old. A grown woman. Mature enough to make a man like me fucking sink to his knees with need.”

I really liked this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable but also a bit over-the-top. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Lennon was annoying as heck. I wanted to know what happened with Mr. Jenkins so that was a bit disappointing. Lexie and her friends were definitely ornery and a bunch of instigators. They seemed close (for the most part), supportive, but also willing to hold each other accountable. Lexie and Marshall meet under odd circumstances but that doesn't change the way they feel for each other. Marshall was all-in with Lexie almost immediately. I loved that they had conversations about the things that they liked and what they wanted for the future. I loved their happily ever after. I recommend reading this book.

Undecided between 2.5 and 3 stars. I'm not a lover of this trope but I was looking for smutty fluff. H's character was spot on; tough up bringing, did things he's not proud of but turned himself around for the better. He was hot, possessive and surprisingly reminded me of a big ol' teddy bear. I liked that he was all in from the start. The h on the other hand waffled between innocent southern belle to sassy sexpot in the blink of an eye and it kinda took me out of the story. Look, I had very low expectations going in but I was looking for books where the FMC was somehow connected to sex work. This also promised age gap, breeding kink, and (foster) uncle taboo. Dani Wyatt's latest book ticked all of my boxes when it comes to reading smut with a bit of kink and forbidden romance added into the mix. It's a bit of a no brainer read because it focuses more on the sexual relationship between Lexie and Marshall. As with most books in this genre, the chemistry was immediate and intense. Marshall wanted Lexie the moment he laid his eyes on her and she was similarly attracted to him as well. The story begins with Lexie overhearing about a rather salacious auction regarding one's virginity in exchange for money. Goaded into betting against her friends, Lexie decides to attend this event. At the same time, Marshall is heading to the same event without realizing what it was. Initially furious over the auction, Marshall is blindsided and loses all of his inhibitions when he meets Lexie. What happens next as these two banter and tease each other will have you swooning and squirming in your seats.

"I'll take care of you tonight. I'll ruin you tomorrow."

I loved how Lexie was confident and such a natural when interacting with Marshall despite it being her first time. The heat and sexual chemistry between these two was simply intoxicating. Marshall was a likeable hero and I especially enjoyed how we were given glimpses of his past as a foster child. He yearned for a family and he finally found it in Lexie. In the end, I enjoyed Selling Her Virtue because it had everything I was looking for—a sexy and blazing hot story. I highly recommend Dani Wyatt's steamy stories to fans of Alexa Riley and Jessa Kane, especially if you like your heroes possessive, dirty, and rough around the edges with a heroine who is innocent but knows exactly what she wants. You will not be disappointed.

This just seems so similar to her other books. I want something different that will make me want to continue reading this author. I want something new and something u want to read over and over again. Lately that hasn't been the case with this author the books are the same old same old just a different character and plot...

When he buys her and think everything ill be fine he wakes up alone and with a lot of questions. Funny, swoon worthy and scorching hot story that will captivate you from the start. Marshall and Lexie are an amazingly hot couple. If you love a dirty talking alpha who is also over the top and possessive then Marshall is the man for you. Unfortunately he is already taken by a smart mouth bee loving Lexie and she’s a scrapper so be ready for that! Loved everything about this book and the HEA you can always expect with Danis books.
