Lobsters Without Borders

Rate this book
Welcome to Maine! Vacationland! Welcome to St. Frewin’s Island, where rookie Officer Jane Roberts must solve the freakish suffocation of a female corpse. The State homicide team ferries over to prop up Jane’s efforts. But the island’s daily hiccups and Jane’s own prickly psyche get in the way. Runaway cows, juvenile clams, and a DIY crematorium are piling up on her blotter. Matrimony baloney clutters her heart. And what about the homicidal disappointments? Everyone’s alibi is sounding like a lullaby. Heavy rains have washed away all evidence from the crime scene. Surely there must be blood somewhere? Jane Roberts keeps digging, but she is far from solving this case...until the killer stops her cold. May you find yourself happily trapped (and laughing!) in LOBSTERS WITHOUT BORDERS

My husband got me this at a book signing and while I was a little skeptical (I don’t usually read humor/thrillers) I LOVED this book. It was so well paced, I never got bored, and it left me guessing at every turn. It had a perfect balance of humor and murder.

Okay, this book is hilarious chaos. I was at Sherman's book shop in Bar Harbor looking at their Maine authors table, and realized I had to buy this book. I honestly did not have super high expectations, but I couldn't stop myself. It is so quirky and funny, and the world has been needing a lobster-themed murder mystery. If you happen to be on vacation in Maine and you happen to come across this book, please buy it, your vacation will be improved if you do.

Zekes grandma? typos...etc) nobody's perfect! Glad I picked this book up and would love to read the next Jane Roberts mystery!

This book kept popping up at my local Maine bookstores until I just had to read it. It was an entertaining mystery. For me personally, the mystery plot line didn’t develop fast enough to draw me in. The book was engaging enough that I’d consistently pick it back up but I wasn’t binge reading. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for the next Jane Robert’s mystery.
