In the dead of night, a single bulb illuminates the stage of Kimotan Rapids’ historic Blythe Theatre. Called a ghost light, it’s intended to appease the theatre’s spirits.
But some souls will not be so easily pacified. And the ghost light is about to reveal something sinister.
When Jason is promoted to theatre manager, it’s a dream come true. That dream sours when expensive and cherished items begin to go missing with no apparent explanation. Jason wonders if he might have a thief in his midst.
Hoping to put a stop to the activity, Jason consults investigators Sully and Dez—and receives a truth he is loath to learn.
The items are being taken by a ghost. And there might be a macabre reason behind it. Two of the theatre’s many spirits were victims of homicide.
What message are the ghosts trying to send? What can the missing items reveal about the Blythe’s secrets? And what dangers will befall those at the theatre if Sully and Dez can’t solve the mystery behind the deaths?
Unless the brothers find answers soon, the Blythe’s ghost light will reveal someone’s final bow.
Raised on a farm on the Canadian Prairies, words quickly became my means of exploring the world around me and giving life to the one created in my imagination. Fascinated by ghost stories and crime fiction, I have been writing both for well over two decades, drawing on more than fifteen years in a career in a criminal justice setting. When not putting Scrivener through its paces, I enjoy reading, portrait drawing, travel and spending time with family and friends.
The Haunting of Blyth Theatre By H.P. Bayne This book, #11, has Dez and Sully investigating a theatre when expensive things go missing. The staff denies taking them, no theft on cameras, and a creepy encounter happens to one of the staff. Very good mystery.
A very difficult case for Dez and Sully. Not sure of what they are looking for…a living thief or a paranormal one…also not sure who the ghosts actually are. This was fun to read! I love these characters immensely and look forward to each new adventure eagerly.
The Sully and Dez stories are great. It always feels like checking in on old friends. I had to pace myself to not read the book in a single day. The story is that compelling.
Another great story in this series, which didn't come as a surprise, tbh :P
This one begins slow, with a case in which Sully and Dez are involved just because the manager of the theatre is maybe overreacting. Some small stuff stolen, tales of hauntings that are usual in old theatres. Nothing dangerous, really...
Of course, as soon as those two get involved, things get a little more... interesting :P
Two ghosts (well, two that are important to the story, at least), the old owner going missing after selling the building in the 60s and a coming-up actress who died from, apparently, natural causes in the 20s are the main leads that Sully and Dez have. But nothing is as it seems and the sense of menace grows exponentially as they dig more into the mysteries until the breath-stopping ending.
Oh, and Wray is here, too, helping our boys to get the truth out in the open. I like her a lot, she is a worthy niece to Emily. ♥
Another recommended read in this series, made of recommended reads *laughs*
Another excellent book to read. This series keeps you on your toes. Sully and Dez are called in to investigate missing items and whether it is paranormal or employee thievery. As this has a slow start it sure gets going. Who is taking the items and why? What has happened to the previous owner and his wife? A great read.
I get excited every time a new Sully and Dez book comes out and I am never disappointed. The Blythe Theatre is haunted by the ghost of a dancer, but it isn't known for sure who she is until Sully is called in to help that they find the truth. As usual there are so many secrets that Sully reveals who can't cross over and be at peace. I would recommend it to readers who enjoy stories with paranormal qualities. i received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.
A fantastically thrilling murder mystery with the man who sees the ghosts of those who were murdered. I finished this book at 2:30AM. I couldn’t sleep not knowing what was going to happen next. I’m so happy Sully & Dez called on one of their new friends, because she is a great example of a strong, smart, female. As I’ve said in my other reviews, these standalone books are fantastic, but if you read The Sullivan Gray Series, you’ll get so much more out of the Braddock & Gray Case Files.
The latest ghost stories is a good one, Sullivan and Dez, with a bit of Wray, solve a 50 year old murder case and there is the usual danger, two ghosts and more spirits. The story is a good one and a cracking read. Lachlan isn't in it or the rest of the family, they are not needed, but it's a good story.
I love Sully and Dez, I have read all their books so far and they are brilliant. This one was a little bit sad in places. It was quite a mystery with a couple of twists. I can't wait to read the next book. Definitely worth five stars.
This series is my favorite. I’m so excited when another book comes out! The characters are so well written they feel like they’re my friends. These are good ghost stories always with a twist. I can’t wait for the next one!
I really enjoy this series. All of the books have been a joy to read. I have fallen in love with Dez and Sully . I feel I will settle into my reading place and entertain myself again and again.
Once again Sully barely survives to the end fof a mystery only he can solve. He and Dez help a theater manager find the solution to several thefts, and murders due to Sully's special talent. There. Are several twists to this tale. It's a good mystery.
This one was an interesting read. Another historical case for the boys. Touches on some interesting themes of love. Can5say much more without giving away key pieces of the plot but well worth the read.
♾️/⭐️ An amazing spooky setting (loved the real life fact about ghost lights too!) and again so many plot twists I didn’t see coming. A recent new character appeared again which I loved and touches on a lot of interesting themes. Highly recommend!
