Pairs figure skaters Tyler and Amaliya have achieved the ultimate victory: a gold medal in the 1984 Olympics. But somehow, that victory holds less weight than what faces Tyler next: asking Amaliya’s overprotective father for permission to marry his daughter. When Robert senses a disconnect in Tyler’s and his daughter’s goals, he withholds his blessing, and the couple must determine if what lies ahead for each of them can truly align. As they consider their next steps together, they are unaware that their careers are in jeopardy. They have caught the attention of dangerous and powerful men—men who have vowed to never again allow the American pair to rise above the Soviet’s.
Amaliya’s mother, Katerina, is haunted by the decisions of her past and longs to be reunited with her brother, who is trapped behind the Iron Curtain. But her attempts to see him do not go unnoticed. The KGB does not let its people go easily, and now they know where to find Katerina, the defector. With danger closing in on Katerina and the competition heating up for Tyler and Amaliya, it seems that their dreams for the future may shatter.

This book is amazing! One part of me has been anticipating reading it for a long time. The other part didn't want to because I knew it was the final book in the Dream's Edge world. And I have come to love all of these characters! But I dove right in and devoured this book. I loved being back in this world and seeing all of the characters from the series throughout the book. That's one of my favorite aspects of reading trilogies and series. I love seeing more of these characters that I've become invested in and knowing they're doing well. I loved how they all worked together in this book!
Tyler and Amaliya are Olympic Gold Medalists and are now heading to the World's competition. Stakes are high and there are many unknowns for their future. Add in that Amaliya's mom has the chance to see her brother whom she hasn't see in years and years, and that brings its own added intensity and excitement to the book. Her brother lives in the Soviet Union, which the leaders are not too happy with her mom for defecting. Thankfully World's is held in Canada, but that doesn't mean that her mom is entirely safe in traveling there. Especially with the Soviets being there as well.
So many moving parts that were great on their own but put altogether wove a great and intricate story that pulled me in from the beginning and kept me turning the pages pretty quickly! Such a satisfying story and conclusion to this Dream's Edge World. I'm secretly hoping that the author will decide she has more to write in these characters' lives. *Hint, hint, hint* Even if it's just an extra side story or a break-off series. *Thanks Traci!* A girl can dream, right?!
You could probably read this as a stand-alone novel but I think you'll enjoy the whole series and how all the different characters and stories culminate in this one, if you've read all of them!
Content: Clean. Some moments of mild peril and intensity. Some kisses but nothing further.
I received a copy from the publisher, Covenant Communications, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
Abramson finishes her Dream’s Edge trilogy in an exciting fashion. I’ve read the two previous full length books but not the three prequel novella’s that tie into the series. Book two Dreams of Gold ends with ice dancers Tyler and Amaliya winning the Olympic Gold medal in Russia. The story is set during the 1980’s when the Iron Curtain is solid and relations between the countries is tense. Back at home Tyler and Amaliya have just over a month to prepare themselves for the World Championship in Canada. The pair also have to make big decisions about their future. Tyler assumes he will turn pro and move on to the Ice Capades. But they are a partnership and plans have to work for both of them.
I thought the middle novel got bogged down in the training and skating preparation storyline. This one doesn’t make the same mistake. Amaliya’s mother Katerina defected from Russian 25 years earlier. She didn’t dare go to Russia for the Olympics. But she wants to see Amaliya skate and is hopeful to meet her niece who skates for Russia and get a chance to talk to her brother. Abramson is at her best in writing intrigue with spies and agents. So it is fun to have this added plot complete with KGB agents that would love to return a defector or at least cause a distraction for the American skaters upsetting their chances to win.
I’ve enjoyed this sports romance series. And this is an exciting conclusion. (Assuming the author doesn’t continue on with the characters in the future.) Setting it in the 1980’s, listening to Walkman’s and worrying about long distance bills, will seem foreign younger readers. This book is clean in every sense of the word and I think would be enjoyed by 15 and up. The series should be read in order for best enjoyment. Thank you to NetGalley and Covenant Communications for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. (4.5 Stars)
What a great ending to this series. I've enjoyed reading this series, I've always loved the movie Cutting Edge. The story takes place in 1984, and is a fast paced novel. There is quite a bit of a struggle for the skaters.
What a way to wrap up this series! I was absolutely, completely, wholly engrossed from the first page. It was easily my favorite book of the entire series. I was on the edge of my seat with the suspense in this book and I was addicted to the story! There is some good conflict, relationship building, character growth, discovery, and, as I said, suspense. Reading more about the potential life behind the Iron Curtain made my heart hurt a little. There are a lot more perspectives in this book than in previous books, and I was riveted. I did initially get confused a time or two with the Russian names, but after a few chapters, I knew exactly who everyone was. I was so nervous that this book wouldn’t be able to wrap up in a way that everyone would get their HEA—it certainly seemed to be leaning more on the side of at least one person getting the short end of the stick. I am happy to report that things turned out so well—better than I could have expected! I was so happy with the way everything turned out, I was smiling when I read “The End.” If you like figure skating, heart-stopping suspense (with some Russian drama centered around the time period of the Iron Curtain thrown in), or fabulous relationship and character development, check out this book! It’s a super good one.
**Thanks to the publisher for the gifted copy. I have provided this honest review of my own volition.
A thrilling conclusion to the “Dream’s Edge series” Ms. Abramson masterfully weaves tension into her tale as Tyler and Amaliya balance their desire to wed with their plans with the future while Amaliya’s mother Katerina fights to reunite with her brother with the eyes of the KGB upon them.
Worlds Collide was one of the most anticipated books on my To-Read list for 2023. I have loved this series and adored the characters and I couldn't wait to see what happened to Tyler and Amaliya in the World's Championship. Now if that wasn't enough to make me want to read this book, readers knew that Amaliya's Russian-born mother who defected from her country was now threatened by her home country. In 1984 the KGB was still such a huge threat to the world.
So once again, I made the mistake of picking this book up in the early evening and losing track of time because of the phenomenon of "just one more chapter" rattling through my brain. The angst in the book is real and you will never find that stopping place. There is so much going on between Tyler and Amaliya that I had not anticipated. Also, Katerina's life and freedom are at risk with the KGB on the move. This last book nicely weaves all of the previous books and novellas in the series into a perfect package of really great reading. Make sure to read the books in the correct order. Go to Traci's website to find the best and most enjoyable way to read the Dream's Edge series.
You guys! Can I give a book ten stars? This book deserves a perfect ten! I am still thinking of the story days later. I am totally and emotionally wrecked. This series, this book, it is everything! Once again Abramson transported me back to the 1980s and the world of figure skating. I love Tyler and Amaliya’s characters and every single minor character in the story. Is that possible? Because I love them all! Miles, Linda, Gordon, Katerina, Robert, Viktor, Josef, Sonya, and Ursula! I felt like I became a part of their world, their family, their friendships. I love the theme of family and love throughout the story. Abramson always manages to have some suspense in there that gets my heart pounding. I was on the edge of my seat when I was supposed to be sleeping. I don’t want this series to end, I hope it continues on. I don’t want to leave this world behind, it is that good. Romantic suspense at its absolute best, World’s Collide is a phenomenal addition to the series. (Still hoping the series isn’t over yet, please say it isn’t so) I received a copy of this book for free; all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I loved the last book in the Dream’s Edge series! I hate to tell too much of the story so I don’t spoil anything from previous books, so I won’t. Just know this series comes to a very satisfying conclusion, even though I wish it wasn’t the end. I’ve followed figure skating for years, and I can tell Traci made sure to research the sport, (or maybe she follows it, too) which I appreciate. I know this is a series I will revisit many times!
What a fantastic read! I do suggest that you read the full length novels in this series in order for the full effect. A perfect combination of suspense and romance
This wonderful series follows two very ambitious skaters, Tyler, and Amaliya as they head to the Olympics. This story starts right after the couple have won at the Olympics, and they hope to do even better in the World games. One of my favorite things to watch at the Winter Olympics is the pairs figure skating competition. They are so graceful and do amazing dance moves and tricks. I’m always blown away by their free style programs and the music they choose.
This author does an amazing job of capturing the day in the life of these two champions, with the pressure these two are under to stay focused on their training, hoping to do the same or even better the World games. The competition is steep. Tyler had fallen a few times in practice. Their coach does an incredible job of keeping the couple on track. Encouraging them when they fall and for them not to be overwhelmed. Then there is the decision of what to do next in their life. Do they go pro? Do they have an endorsement contract or two on the table they need to decide on? Yes, Yes, and Yes. Oh, and there is this little thing called “marriage” where does that fit in?
Then there is the suspense and drama around Amallya’s mother, Katerina and her possibly meeting up with her brother and family from Russia. Since the World games were in Canada, they had a chance. This had nail biting suspense with this family and the KGB. Loved it.
I adored hanging out with this couple and their family and friends. Everyone wants the best for them. They don’t know what is best for them now. There is a lot of soul searching for the couple and their families. It's a group effort. Everyone had their input, but the ultimate choice was with Tyler, and Amallya. I felt for this skating team and the impossible choices they had to make. I enjoyed every minute I spent with this skating team and their family. I hate to see the series end.

I'm not sure how to open this book review. So much of it became personal by the end.
First, figure skating. Is there anyone who doesn't watch figure skating in the Olympics? We don't have satellite or anything, but we hook up our antenna JUST so we can watch figure skating (and swimming!) while the Olympics are on.
Second and third, as they intertwine with each other, are living behind the Iron Curtain, and not being able to see your family for more than 20 years.
So, first of those second and third points, this book makes me appreciate the freedom I have because of where I live. I know many countries have freedoms, but listen. I homeschool our children (just to name one example). I don't have to answer to anyone (because of the state in which we live), I don't have to get approval for curriculum, I don't have to get permission to do ANYTHING. Because we have freedom.
Know what else? And this is point two of second and third, I can see my brothers any time I want to. I have two of them. Because of life responsibilities, I don't get to see them as often as I'd like, but I COULD. I can't imagine not being able to see them for almost 25 years. In fact, try and keep me from them. Not only that, but when I do see them, I'm not looking over my shoulder, afraid that I'll be taken back to the Soviet Union. I can just enjoy their company.
I hope this book will stick with me for a long time. There are too many things I take for granted, and this has opened my eyes to those things.
~I was given a complimentary copy of this book. No positive review was required, and all opinions are my own.~
Picking up right after the Olympics, Tyler and Amaliya are contemplating the future of their careers as well their future together, but first they have Worlds to conquer.
This book delves more into the life of Amaliya's extended family living in The Soviet Union. The book does a great job of showing the realities that people living under that regime faced. A heartwarming story of love, family, and sacrifice. A wonderful read for figure skating fans.
Overall, an enjoyable, quick read, with likable characters and a moving plot. A beautiful conclusion to this wonderful series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Hopes and dreams collide in this beautifully tender tale of two Olympic hopefuls. This is a series that must be read in order to fully understand and enjoy it.
Diving back into the figure skating world, with all the drama and competition, was so exciting and the gamut of emotions are felt throughout the entire book.
Tyler and Amaliya are not only partners in pairs figure skating, but they're now engaged and have to hide it, since her father has all but forbidden them to be together. I loved revisiting these characters that I've come to love, and it was hard to watch their desires clash. With a final performance looming, hard decisions must be made about the future. Abramson writes in a way that brings these characters to life. I feel that I know them and want what's best for them, but only they can decide their path. I guess I almost feel like their parents, hah!
An added element with this book is a potential meeting between Amaliya's mother and her family from Russia. Danger results from this and took me by surprise, leaving me breathless.
Beautifully written, full of moving feelings, and glimmers of hope from where it all began permeate these pages and I was fully immersed from start to finish.
Content: mild romance; skating injury; moments of peril and danger
*I received a complimentary copy. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own and were voluntarily given.*
What a fantastic ending to this series. I learned so much about the Soviet Union and how incredibly lucky I am to live in a land with so many freedoms. Traci has an incredible talent bringing her characters to life that you can’t help but fall in love with them.
4.5 stars Wow! This book had me on the edge of my seat. There were some times when I wanted to put it down, but I just picked it back up again. Worlds Collide is the third book in Traci Hunter Abramson’s Dream’s Edge series. Poor Tyler and Amaliya. They had a lot to work through, there were so many things going on in their lives. They had just won the Olympics but now they were facing the world championship competition and trying to figure out how to see Amaliya’s uncle and cousin again. They just had so much stacked against them, but I loved reading about them learning to work through their problems and figure out things together. Oh my goodness, there was so much going on in this book. I was on the edge of my seat as I was reading. The characters were so engaging and the plot was interesting. I was rooting for Tyler and Amaliya as they tried to figure out their next steps. Tyler and Amaliya had to learn to talk to each other and work through the problems of the future. They were trying to figure out what it meant for them now that the Olympics were over. It was cool to read about them coming together and trying to listen to each other. There was some conflict but it fit the story and Tyler and Amaliya. There was also so much going on behind the scenes. Katerina, Amaliya’s mother, was trying to figure out a way to see her brother, Viktor but things were much more complicated than they seemed. The Soviet Union was watching them and Katerina might not even be safe. This part of the story was so interesting and oh my goodness, I was on the edge of my seat. I loved how Abramson was able to weave this part so seamlessly into the story and how it all fit. Worlds Collide is an engaging wonderful book, it should be on your TBR! The ending was sort of satisfying but I hope that there are more books featuring these amazing characters. I would definitely recommend this book, however it definitely needs to be read as part of the series. Worlds Collide is a clean romance set during the 1980s. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher through Netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, a positive review was not required.
What a ride!! Coming to the end of this series is bittersweet. I have truly loved going back in time and learning more about figure skating in the eighties! Before reading these stories I didn't really understand what it meant to be a defector and why someone would choose it. I already want to go back and start over because I'm not ready to move on from knowing these characters!
When worlds collide and you must choose, what will be your choice? This is a great read exploring how we must all make choices in our lives that affect the future of ourselves and others for better or worse. Fresh off winning Olympic Gold in skating pairs, Tyler and Amaliya are faced with choices for their future. Should they go pro requiring them to travel non-stop for the majority of the year, but with good money? Should they continue competing working towards another Olympic competition with the pressure of finding ways to support themselves as they train? And how would those decisions play into their desire and plans to get married? On top of all that Amaliya’s relatives from Russia are coming to Canada where Tyler and Amaliya are competing, not only to see Amaliya’s cousin compete but hopefully to meet with her mother, Katerina, who had defected years before. As preparations are made both in Russia and the United States pressures mount to try to make the best choices, forces are aligning some to support Amaliya, Tyler, and her family and others to destroy their worlds, professionally and personally. And which each act, each choice made worlds collide. A great read. Although this is the third book in a series it can easily be read as a standalone. I can highly recommend all three. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the copy. This is my review and all thoughts are my own.
I have been loving this series and this ending was pure perfection!
Sports romance, suspense, political intrigue, history and more is what you'll find in this one. Traci never fails to wow me with her consistent writing abilities. Every book she writes I absolutely love.
Sports romance is always so much fun. I could feel the tension, the stress, the anticipation and the drive pushing both Amaliya and Tyler...and even their coach, Gordon. The romance picked up right where it left off in previous books and this relationship is so sweet. I thought it perfectly paced with the stress of competing and making future plans. It's was a romance definitely worth reading about!
The suspense and political intrigue surrounding Amaliya's mom, Katarina-a Soviet defector, had me holding my breath at every turn. As a parent she wants to support her daughter, as a wanted subject to a country she no longer lives in that will stop at nothing to return her to her homeland made for some unputdownable moments.
The history was informative and easy to adapt to while reading. I was immersed and I especially loved the author's notes at the end.
5 stars for the conclusion of the Dream's Edge series. I highly recommend each and over full length and novella this series has to offer!
Worlds Collide by Traci Hunter Abramson will be available February 14th!
Thanks to the author and publisher for the copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.
I am a huge fan of Traci Hunter Abramson, and own all her books, but this one landed with a clunk for me, which is a shame because it's the climax and final volume in the enjoyable Dream's Edge series. First, the figures on the cover seem ill-designed and disproportionate (not Ms. Abramson's fault, of course)--they are an unskillful two-dimensional depiction of a three-dimensional pairs figure-skating lift. Okay, enough about the cover--the central conflict of the first one third to one half of the book seems anachronistic--Tyler is agonizing over how to ask his future father-in-law for his daughter's hand in marriage. Yes, Robert Marcell is very strict with and protective of Amaliya, but this is the late 1980s, people--I was there. Tyler and Amaliya should go together to explain that they are engaged to her parents and save Tyler all this unnecessary grief. If Robert kicks him out of the apartment above the Marcell family's garage, that's bad, but it's time for both young people to grow up and establish an adult relationship with this man who's going to be their father and father-in-law for many years beyond the next Olympics.
Also, there are several places where Abramson creates new, distracting verb forms. One instance: "Viktor's hope was quickly extinguishing" (89). Extinguishing what? Does she mean "being extinguished"? This is not an isolated instance; a subject will be described with a new, gerund-like misuse of a verb.
All that said, once the skaters begin training for the Olympics and the stakes presented by Amalyia's mother Katarina's attendance at the Montreal Winter Olympics become clear, the story takes on Abramson's usual engrossing style. For readers who wonder if the dangers presented by the Soviets as depicted in the story are too extreme, they are not. The whole Cold War situation as it plays out in the lives of the countries' skaters is realistic to the history of the time. And so, with the help of yet another hotel balcony (see Dancing to Freedom, the backstory on Robert and Katerina Marcell), will justice be done and medals be won? So long as our hope is not extinguishing.
The Dream's Edge series is so good. It began with the novella Dancing to Freedom. Worlds Collide brings the series full circle.
I have loved getting to know the characters. Tyler and Amaliya are very talented. After winning Olympic Gold they head to Canada to participate in the World's competition. There is more at stake, Amaliya's mother wants to see her brother. She defected from Russia and knows she is at risk if she comes near the KGB. This book is intense with political intrigue, high-speed chases, romance, and reunions. I loved it!
Traci Hunter Abramson's writing pulled me in. Her pacing and story are excellent. I highly recommend this series. I wouldn't mind if there is a spin-off series and I can reconnect with the characters.
Source: I received a complimentary copy and purchased one for my library. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
WOW! A wonderful conclusion to the Dream’s Edge Series! I had a hard time putting this book down! Having won the gold medal in the 1984 Olympics in Russia as pair figure skaters, Amaliya and Tyler must face different obstacles in order to plan a future together. Least of all is gaining Amaliya’s parents blessing for her hand in marriage, especially when her father is not convinced they belong to each other and that their future can be aligned. At the same time, Katerina -Amaliya’s mother- is trying to find a way to reach her brother Viktor in the Soviet Union but this seems more complicated and dangerous than she ever imagined, especially when the KGB doesn’t let go of their people easily and to them she is a defector, because she left Russia to illegally marry her American husband Robert. So, when relatives travel to Russia where Tyler and Amaliya are competing, Katerina decides to go with them with hope of gaining some connection to her brother. But when KGB tracks her down and knows of her intentions, her future might be in peril. Not only hers, but also Amaliya and Tyler’s career is in peril, becausethere are some powerful men from Russia whose intent is to never let the amazing pair of figure skating rise above Russia ever again, and they might do anything to thwart their efforts in the competitions. I can say that this book had me at the edge of my seat! The cold war era was very well depicted and I felt the tension and pressure the characters experienced being pursued by Russian spies. The plot has twists and turns that will keep you guessing. There is also a lot of emotional turmoil and drama that made the story more interesting. I was conquered by the main characters. Amaliya and Tyler made a beautiful match. I loved their strong determination and sacrifice. They were lovable characters, and I loved their relationship and the trust they put on each other and how they dialogued their fears and uncertainties. Their relationship grew alongside them throughout the book. Also, Katerina and Robert’s story captivated me all the same. Katerina’s pain at being separated from her brother Viktor tugged at my heartstrings. Robert’s love for her was so sweet. This story is character driven and it’s very well done. I was rooting for these couples and for their well deserved Happily Ever After. The scenes of ice skating are fantastic. I feel as if I’ve learned so much from this book and I think it will forever change when I see figure skating at the next Olympics. It’s a book about trying to make the best choices. Each choice can make the worlds collide. It was a very inspiring story and I was very satisfied with its ending, the book had me engaged until the end. It can be perfectly read as a standalone, but I definitely recommend to read it in order. You get to see the characters grow from the start and learn more about their history. All in all, a fantastic ending to the series and a story I highly recommend! I received a complimentary copy from the author but wasn’t required to post a positive review. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.
I had been waiting for this book for months and I could't wait for it be to be released! I absolutely loved the first two book of the series, "An Unlikely Pair" and "Dreams of Gold", which I re-read just in time for the publication of "Worlds Collide". Unfortunately, I have been a little disappointed by this third and last book of the series.
I still enjoyed following our two skaters, Amaliya and Tyler, during their preparation for the World championships in Canada right after the the Olympic Games, but the focus of this book was less about skating and more about Amaliya and Katerina's reunion with their Soviet family. While this was a very interesting element that added depth to the story, I found that it took too much space. There is a lot of focus on Viktor (Katerina's brother), his family, but also the director of the Soviet ice skating section, Artyom, whose story is partially told from his point of view. There was a bit too much going on behind the scene, and not much focus on ice skating per se.
All along "Worlds Collide", I found Amaliya to be too obsessed about meeting her extended family. It took a very important a place in the story, yet the psychological aspect of it was not as developed as one could wish. In addition, as Amaliya and Tyler discuss their future together, we start to see a divergence in opinions and a grave lack of communication. While they eventually end up discussing their projects together, I found that their romance was not very strong, their chemistry barely there, and I was not even confident that I wanted both of them to marry because they didn't seem to make such a good team as a couple... So that's one of my biggest regrets of the book! Also, I regret that we didn't get to see more of some secondary characters, such as Carolyn who is just "present" when needed...
The involvement of the KGB in this story brings in more suspense and tension than in the previous books, as well as an interesting historical element—it allows readers to better understand how life was under the communists regime and what freedom meant to them.
I certainly wouldn't be against the series continuing, as I love the universe of this series and I am attached to the characters, but more focus on their emotions, their psychology, and their evolution as persons, and more small details about ice skating at competitive level would be nice.
Overall, I still enjoyed this book a lot, but to me, it fell a bit short of the quality of the two first books...
Worlds Collide is book 3 in Traci Hunter Abramson’s sports romance series Dreams Edge.
I have really enjoyed this series! I like the figure skating, the relationships including both family and friends that are like family, the relatable challenges, and the healthy dose of suspense.
I really love that each of the books in this series includes a unique set of challenges for the characters to face. Although it is centered around figure skating, it’s not entirely about figure skating. I really liked seeing Amalia and Tyler work through the challenges that come after the Olympics. Figuring out what to do with your life, what career to pursue, where to live, how to make ends meet are real stresses we all face eventually and it felt relatable. I like that they had to communicate and compromise to reach a decision together.
I also loved the family dynamic. Majority of the story focuses on reuniting Amalia’s mom with the family she left behind when she defected from the Soviet Union. I loved getting to know Amalia’s uncle Victor and his family. I love that even Victor’s family got a happily ever after and were better off than they were before, and I love that the way it came about was not at all how I thought it would happen.
Lastly I love that this story is told from multiple perspectives! It’s not just Amalia and Tyler telling the story, we get to see things from the point of view of Amalia’s parents, uncle, and other important characters in this story. I love how including these different perspectives makes the story more complex and allows me as the reader to see everything that’s going on, even the things the main characters are unaware of. It’s a unique writing style that I absolutely love!
Overall this was a great story and a wonderful series! I loved the characters and the intertwined stories. I loved that it had a little bit of everything, romance, figure skating, suspense, family, every day stresses, it was all there. If you enjoy sports romance or romantic suspense, I definitely recommend the Dreams Edge series!
Synopsis: Pairs figure skaters Tyler and Amaliya have won a gold medal in the 1984 Olympics. But now Tyler needs to start thinking about his future. A future with Amaliya in it. The first obstacle is to ask Amaliya's overprotective father for permission to marry his daughter. After questioning the couple of their plans together, Robert senses a disconnect in Tyler’s and his daughter’s goals. He then decides to withhold his blessing, and the couple must determine if what lies ahead for each of them can truly align. As they work through their problems, they don't realize that their careers are in trouble. They have caught the attention of dangerous and powerful men—men who have vowed to never again allow the American pair to rise above the Soviet’s.
Amaliya’s mother, Katerina, is haunted by the decisions of her past and longs to be reunited with her brother, Viktor, who is trapped behind the Iron Curtain. But she tries to see him, she doesn't realize that she is being watched closely. The KGB does not let its people go easily, and now they know where to find Katerina, the defector. With danger closing in on Katerina and the competition heating up for Tyler and Amaliya, it seems that their dreams for the future may shatter.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I found myself reading late into the night so I can find out what happens next. Traci has a way with words that always keeps you interested. Even though I've only read a couple of the dream edge series books, I was able to follow along to the story easily. Another book, that I would recommend for sure!
This is the final book in the Dream's Edge series and I can say that it wraps up all the loose ends from the other books. It was a fantastic conclusion.
Traci does a fantastic job on all her books and this was no different. She seamlessly transitions between Katerina and Robert's perspectives to Tyler and Amaliya's. Their stories are woven together with such precision it is incredible.
This book took me on a roller-coaster of emotions. There were the so many things that I didn't expect to happen, which is always a nice surprise. There were also the cute moments that I wanted to happen that did. ❤️ I loved the rawness and emotion you get from Katerina as she reflects on her struggles escaping the Soviet Union, and how she regrets leaving her family behind. Those moments are highlights for me because I felt for her and her journey along the path she chose.
It is also a highlight to see Amaliya breaking out of her shell and really starting to gain her independence (much to the chagrin of her father).

What a way to end the Dream's Edge trilogy! I couldn't wait for this book to release but I also didn't want the series to end. That being said, I started it one night and finished it the next day, it was so good! It deserves more than 5 stars!!
There were several storylines in this book and I didn't know how they would all be resolved, but of course Traci Abramson did a fantastic job packing them together and tying every single storyline up with a beautiful bow. First up, gold medal winners Tyler and Amaliya are preparing to compete in the World's competition but also need to decide if they want to accept an offer to become pro-skaters or continue training to compete in the 1988 Olympics. They also need to figure out how to approach her slightly over-protective father about them getting married--Tyler asked and Amaliya said yes but he hasn't talked to her father yet. Then there's matter of Katerina's brother, Viktor coming to Canada with his daughter Sonya for the World's competition. Will Katerina be able to see him? Would the Soviet government even consider it because of her defection even though it was 20 years ago?
There are so many things to love about this book! Getting viewpoints from multiple characters; the suspense that had me worried for a bit, wonderful characters I've come to love, the strong theme of family that encompassed not only this book but the entire series and multiple happy endings for our characters. That being said, I'm still sad to see this series end.
I was married with 2 small children at the time this book takes place; reading this story brought to mind the tension that existed between the Soviet Union and the United States during the Olympics and World competitions in the 70's and 80's.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.
This is the last book in the Dream's Edge series and it was incredible! I haven't really read sports novels in the past but these were fabulous. I love how Abramson didn't just focus on the sport and the practices, but really focused on the characters, and their development, and their relationship growth, too. This was a perfect culmination of all the different struggles that Tyler and Amaliya have faced throughout the series.
There are family struggles as they deal with possibly meeting up with Katerina's family. My goodness, am I grateful that I never had to live in the Soviet Union during those incredibly difficult times. I felt like I was on the edge of my seat during most of the second half of the book!
In particular, I love how Abramson portrayed Tyler and Amaliya's relationship. They were both struggling with different visions for their future together which was so stressful as they also had to worry about their World's competition. But they worked through it all a bit at a time, as they learned to listen to each other more. It was nice to see a "happily ever after" that they actually had to continually work on, which is so much like real life. I just loved that!
All in all, it was an exciting and very satisfying end to this wonderful series.
I received a free copy from the author. All opinions are my own.
Wow! I loved this book! I have loved this whole series and this book tied them all together so well. The love between Tyler and Amaliya really shines through, and the maturity they have both gained over the course of the series. I felt for them and all the decisions they had to make, but I love how no matter what they always come back to each other. We also get to see more of Robert and Katarina, and it was wonderful to see them still so madly in love with each other after so many years. The threats they face and the heartbreak of not seeing Katarinas family in so long really made this book very suspenseful. There were several moments when I was on the edge of my seat. And Miles and Linda have remained my favorite couple-I just love them! They are such supportive friends. They love Amaliya and Tyler so much and go to such lengths to support them. They put themselves in the path of danger to keep Robert and Katarina together. They are such an inspiring couple! And of course, this series wouldn’t be complete without Gordon. He’s such a good coach, always finding that right balance of pushing and nurturing. He’s always got Amaliya and Tyler’s backs and won’t let them give up on themselves ever. Traci Hunter Abramson has outdone herself with this one!
What a fantastic series finale!! Political intrigue, sports competitions, and sweet romance all intertwine in a intriguing story that kept me on the edge of my seat!
This book follows Tyler and Amaliya as they compete in pairs figure skating at the World Championships in 1984, but Amaliya's family ties to Soviet Union also brings danger and suspense to the competition. Add in such very big decisions that the two are forced to make about their relationship and the direction their journey goes after Worlds adds even more tension and stress to the story. I adore Tyler and Amaliya and their romance is so very sweet!
The story is told from multiple POVs which I LOVED! It really helped immerse me in the story and understand the characters. After three novellas and three books I am so sad to see this series come to an end - I am in love with all of these characters!
I highly recommend you pick up the books in order to avoid spoilers and get the full connection to the characters and their stories. This series is perfect for fans of sweet sports romances with a splash of suspense! Definitely a 5 stars from me!
I received a complimentary copy but a positive review was not required.
I started reading this too late to be able to finish in one sitting which was probably a mistake on my part. I knew I was just getting to the intense part when I forced myself to go to bed (after 1:00 am). I am pretty sure I dreamed about ice-skating, KGB agents and defectors all night long trying to figure out what was going to happen. Gah! My mind came up with all sorts of horrible endings since I really couldn't see my way into everyone having a happy ending. I'm so glad the author could! It was a very satisfying ending for all the people I cared about.
There is an element of romance in the book but mostly just a continuation of relationships in previous books in the series. This book is more about Tyler & Amaliya's future career, their competition successes, and some political intrigue, which is obviously the part that made me have those dreams.
I really want to see these two characters perform in person. It all sounds so beautiful. I love to watch ice-skating.
Sex: no Language: no Violence: brief, attempted abduction, attempted car accident *I received a complimentary ARC through NetGalley and voluntarily chose to review it.
