This is so insanely boring I’m not even skimming, I’m skipping insane chunks of it just to finish it.
Why you ask? Because I bought the first ten volumes of this without reading the first one, and I need to learn we don’t waste money like this on a series we think might be good. It’s not horrible, but the MC is so OP it’s just reader wish-fulfillment and it’s not working for me.
2, one more and I’m done with this series, stars.

Yuji is so overpowered that there’s not any tension in his conflicts. You know he’s going to do something ridiculous and everyone will be shocked while he’s totally deadpan about it 🤷🏻♀️
Sure enough…Baolzard is supposed to be super powerful, but this red dragon is crazy strong (can’t they even attempt to speak with it?)…then Yuji uses a couple of moves to destroy it. There will be another dragon that’s even stronger, and either Yuji kills it (he will) or the world ends. I guess there’s no concept of cooperation? Like maybe all the dragons get together to fight it? Why some dragons are mindless beasts and others seem to be fairly friendly is not explained.

*The MC is OP af but he is really chill and practical, has common sense and is not stupid. His OPness is does not have that overtly, speshul snowflake vibe. Well, the people around him treat him like he's godlike with his OPness but, with all his sturdy and chill personality, it's grounded and not all over the place. *The story is also really good. *Everything is balanced. *No unnecessary fanservice (most of manga like this have that unnecessary, sexually-toned fanservice that always makes me think that the author is compensating for a lack of *something* in their life) *Mini-arc stories that contribute to the major arc A+ *No harem A++
2.5 - same review for the series up to and including volume 10. The are is good and the story isn't too bad, but it's also quite bland and there aren't very many characters to get to know. It's an easy read when there is a lot going on around you and you don't have to focus too much.
In the anime, a lot of it is sped up and in the manga it's more detailed, but basically I like stories about tamer characters with good stories and this is one of them.
