After ten years of being the best in the business, he’s messed up in the hottest way possible…
Ty
It was supposed to be an ordinary ESA call, but when I found my incoherent omega client in distress, I had to act. And then he turned out not to be who I thought he was. Instead, Winslow Grant was everything I didn’t know I was missing and then some.
The problem is, that “and then some” might be enough to obliterate my life as I know it.
Winslow
I was just trying to keep my shambles of a life together and to keep a roof over my and my brother’s head when my first ever heat knocked the stuffing out of me. Next thing I knew, it was stuffing of a different kind when gorgeous, experienced alpha, Tybalt Martin found me right when I needed him.
Ty is my hero, my champion, my alpha…but how can I ever be anything but an albatross around his neck?
The Wrong Omega is a stand-alone story in the Bangers & Mash series, and it includes a case of mistaken identity, accidental bonding, the perfect mismatched mates, a face-palm of a brother, and a nail-biting climax that will keep you flipping pages! … However, PLEASE NOTE – No omegas are impregnated in the course of this story, although it does happen in this universe, and there is no shifting in this world.
Aw man, this was so adorably sweet and hot, I enjoyed it a lot. Especially throughout the first half of the story the book was almost impossible for me to put down. Sadly, the second half dragged a little with the omega’s many insecurities and the responsibility he felt for his brother.
Well I’m glad they sorted it out, but I was also glad when I reached the final page. *lol Pity, really. This started out so so good!
*no shifting, no mpreg all books can be read as standalones
********** Bangers & Mash Series
Book 1 - How to Train Your Alpha - 4 stars (novella) Book 2 - The Wrong Omega - 3.5 stars Book 3 - New Alpha on the Block - tbr Book 4 - Christmas Heat Book 5 - Omega on the Run Book 6 - Alpha Versus Omega
After loving Book 1 of the series, it made me so excited to learn Ty’s story. This book started out great. Super hot and I loved the chemistry between Ty and Winslow. BUT Winslow’s very depressing demeanor ruined the book for me and Ty did nothing to help him realize that he didn’t ruin his life. It was said SO much and when Winslow tried to break the bond that was it for me.
Plus, all the side characters sucked. Carl being #1 in suck-age. Ugh. Super frustrating book with no real happiness until the absolute very end. I’m not a fan of depressing romances. I think I’ll give the rest of this series a pass and this author to tbh. Her use of sl*t and wh*re were uber depressing as well. Definitely not for me.
Did I just stay up to 2AM hate-skimming this in one sitting because the thought of putting it down & picking it up again actually made me angry? Yes. Did I regret my decision? Absolutely.
This was significantly longer than the last book, whose premise entirely predicated on "they fucked and fell in love". I wished it had stayed this way, because alas, whatever attempted depth tacked on to the plot did not work.
Carl as a character was really, extremely, annoying. And it's ironic to witness the author tried to insert something of a redemptive arc to a character that is essentially an aggressive caricature that shouldn't exist anyway by today's literary standards. They all fell flat. I was upset reading about Carl the moment he appeared in the narrative until the last. It was possibly hinted that he's neurodivergent, and the wrap on his "arc" was somewhat of an eye roll. Sure, he never get properly diagnosed, but he seems to be genuinely interested in this (grueling and hazardous) work so I guess it'll be all sunshine from here on, tee-hee.
Im sad. I really enjoyed the first book but this one was just going downhill the moment the heat ended. So just stop after the heat part because that’s the only good part.
Carl is a trashbag of a Brother and blaming that on any undiagnosed mental illness is just so gross. And how can Ty as a protective alpha take that garbage Carl with him after he tried to convince Winslow to sell his heat? Also the hole messy depressy thing Winslow has going is just way to much.
I've rounded this up but really only the beginning part of the book was 3* and that was because it had an interesting meet-cute and a lovely chemistry between Ty and Winslow.
Then things went downhill fairly quickly. I really dislike the 'martyr' trope and Winslow was all about that life.
It got pretty old pretty quickly listening to him moan and complain in his internal musing about ruining Ty's life.
The addition of his brother Carl, I have zero idea why anyone thought that was a good idea in the way it was written.
He's alluded to as being 'undiagnosed' and probably on 'the spectrum' but his behaviour is dreadful generalisations about being a flighty and unreliable person with a 'butterfly brain' who just blurts out stuff which is either inadvertently rude or completely inappropriate.
It left me with a bit of a bad taste as everything seemed to be seriously cliché.
The added in element of a complete *** alpha councillor to the throw another spanner I'm the works just irritated me rather than making me feel any sympathy.
However, the last chapter was back to the sweetness of the beginning and went some way to redeeming the narrative.
This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it! I thought it was well-written; I only noticed one or two spelling/grammar mistakes, and the story was engaging. Very likeable characters. Gonna be reading more by this author!
First of all I’ll say that this book needs a trigger warning for se*ual assault!! Seriously I’m tired of romance authors not disclosing this kind of contents, especially if the book is supposed to be easy going (I would go into a mafia or dark romance prepared for that kind of sh*t but not in that kind of romance. It’s always the perfect way to kill the mood. It’s a good thing it happens at the end otherwise I wouldn’t have finished it.)
Ok, now about the book.
It started well and I had hopes for this one. The first part where they meet was great and funny with the misunderstanding and really hot etc…
And then it’s a whole book of Winslow thinking non stop that he ruined Ty’s life and his brother Carl being so f8cking annoying. You know those second hand embarrassment moments when you can’t help but look away? Well it’s filled with those and I had to skip some of his dialogues because it was too much. So yes, apparently Carl is neurodivergent but we never really get an answer on that... He’s like a super annoying kid but oh miracle as soon as this random person meets him she knows what he needs, bam it gets better and the big problem is solved 🙄
On top of the sadness of Winslow feeling like a burden for 75% of the book and his brother being so annoying, I felt like there was no connection once they left the hotel. There’s nothing to make you want to root for them…
It was my 2nd attempt at Alpha/Omega MM romance this week and both ended up disappointing. If anyone has rec for a really good ones I’d be open. Otherwise I don’t think I’ll try this trope again
This book started off good, but after the accidental mating it kind of went downhill. The entire story was an obnoxious amount of carl being completely unaware, and Winslow going back-and-forth of, I ruined his life I need to get out of this he’s so sweet everyone’s life blah blah blah. Like a huge circle of back-and-forth. And then all of a sudden in the end, there’s some drama. And then they’re just OK? No real resolution and all of a sudden Carl is just an adult and you can take care of himself even though the entire book he was literally acting like a child.
The Wrong Omega is the second book in the ‘Bangers and Mash’ series. It stars Tybalt ‘Ty’ Martin, an ESA Alpha, and Winslow Grant, an omega. This is told in first person from Ty and Winslow’s povs.
The blurb does a good job of describing the basic plot. It’s about Ty and Winslow adjusting to their new bond, and how Ty especially, has to deal with Winslow’s troublesome brother, Carl, who tags along wherever they go. I want to warn there is a rape attempt that isn't successful, towards the end of the book.
I’ve read a few of the stories in this series out of order and this one can stand on its own. I would like to read in a future story how things are working out for Ty and Winslow in their new jobs.
There’s a lot of sex for the first quarter to third of this story, because it starts with Ty finding Winslow at the hotel and mistaking him as the client Ty was supposed to meet. Ty then helps Winslow through his heat.
Ty was introduced in the first book. He’s knowledgeable and takes his job seriously. He enjoys helping omegas through their heats and plans on doing it for at least another ten years. Ty is a man with a plan for his life, and despite his assurances to Winslow after they’re bonded, Ty still hasn’t adjusted to the bond or readjusted his future plans. Winslow has had to look after his brother Carl, who seems to have ADHD, since their mother died. The problem is Carl has gotten Winslow fired from jobs and spent the rent money on get rich quick schemes. Winslow has low self esteem which probably was exacerbated by him getting repeatedly fired from jobs and not knowing how he was going to support him and his brother without having an education. When Ty finds Winslow in the throws of his heat, Winslow has no money to pay for Ty’s services. Winslow is also ashamed by the way he behaves during heat. He isn’t the typical subservient, stay-at-home omega. Winslow wants a profession and future, but he doesn’t know what that is since he never went to college. He thinks of himself as dumb. He also repeatedly thinks of himself as a burden to Ty after they’ve bonded since now Ty can’t be and ESA for other omegas. That’s one of the things that bothered me about this story, it was the constant repetition of Winslow’s feelings of uselessness and thinking he ruined Ty’s life. Winslow and Ty of course get their HEA at the end and I could believe in them as a couple.
I liked The Wrong Omega, the plot and characters. However, I didn’t like the incessant repetition of Winslow’s thoughts on being useless and being a burden for Ty. I’ll likely still read other books in the series because the books in this series are light reading fare, and amusing. I give this story, 3 Stars.
Man, talk about a mistaken identity being a life altering event. That certainly happens for Ty and Winslow. I liked the way the author took the time to deal with all the repercussions from the emotional ones of Ty trying to figure out what his life would and could be after every plan he'd made was disrupted, to Winslow feeling like he'd ruined Ty's life and just the day to day problems of dealing with Carl and integrating two lives suddenly thrown together. The first one in this series was a winner and so is this one.
DNF @ 42% I put this book down a few days ago because I wasn't feeling it, and now I also don't feel like picking it up again. Something about it just wasn't working for me.
I so wanted to love this book and was looking forward to it's release. Book 1 is the series is amazing and wonderful - loved the story, characters, and the whole Bangers and Mash concept.
This book is the story of Ty, a side character from book 1, and Winslow who find their happy ending together. The story starts with a case of mistaken identity - Ty is arriving on site at a hotel to assist a client through their heat. He finds Winslow in a heap of trouble with his heat well underway and assumes he is his client. He isn't. This portion of the story is wonderful - well-written and clever, steamy and sweet, the 2 are quickly drawn to one another in emotional ways in addition to the obvious physical ones. So good as we watch Ty care for and protect Winslow through his first heat. That takes us up until about halfway through the book. Then the wheels fell of for me. The issue? Carl.
I get it. Carl, Winslow's brother, is supposed to be a neurodiverse character that we feel annoyed with yet gain a soft spot in our hearts for. It just didn't happen for me - he was just too annoying to ever be seen as anything but that. He's really awful with the inconsiderate things he says to Winslow. It's just terrible to read and not see someone letting him know how hurtful his words are. I actually had to put the book down at chapter 14 I was so bothered by his behavior. It really detracted from the story for me. Additionally, I am the parent of a neurodiverse individual and from my experience (which all experiences and people are unique so this is just my own), guiding someone who have trouble navigating social communication can be so helpful to them - conversation techniques can be learned! It really bothered me that no one took the time to actually help Carl by calling out his hurtful comments and explaining why they weren’t appropriate.
After the halfway mark, there are too many things I didn't like. Carl, the business trip, Ty's waffling and attitude, Winslow's negativity, Crane. I will say that the dramatic incident near the end was interesting and I did not see it coming - so that was a positive. I also enjoyed reading Ty's reaction to it and Winslow's realizations that came from it. So that was nice.
But overall I did not love this book, and I try never to give a rating less than 2.5 stars because I don't like being harsh. Especially when I really enjoy an author's other books like I do here. Sadly, this is going to have to be a 2/5 star read for me. But just because I wouldn't recommend this particular book doesn't mean you shouldn't give the author a chance - book 1 of the series is awesome and I do look forward to book 3 coming next!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The first 1/4 of the book was awesome, i love their relationship and how they fit together but the rest ruined the book for me!
Actually the person who ruined the book for me was Winslow! His self-pitying never positiv thinking, always blaming himself attitude frustrated me so much i struggled to finish the book.
He continuously wallowed in his depressed state of mind even tho he was supposed to be a “tough” person. I personally do not mind a character being pessimistic at all but this took it to another level.
Every sentence that came out of his mouth was “Ahh i’m ruining his life” “ahh i need to break the bond” and never ones did he think to get his emotions into control for Ty. His POVs became a nightmare in this book that i suffered on.
Another aspect of the book that i don’t know how I feel about is Carl, tbh i kind of found Carl cute, exhausting yes but cute nonetheless. Sadly this character didn’t have a depth and stayed on a superficial view of how neurodivergent people are supposed to be and as a neurodivergent person that didn’t stick well with me, so i kinda loved his character but was sad about is superficiality. AND THAT THEY NEVER BROUGHT HIM TO A PSYCHOLOGIST OR THERAPIST!! Annoyed the heck out of me.
If the book had continued in the pace of the first quarter i would have given it a 3/5. And after reading the first book this one was a major disappointment as it tried to become something that it wasn’t. The author tried to put depth into what should have been and fun light-hearted read and story!
Well anyways still thank you for writing this book author!
2.5 stars. This book had an insane amount of smexy times in the beginning, yet it somehow seemed to lack genuine affection and connection. I just didn’t feel it. It was instalove and “baby” from the start. I kept reading it, and it did get better. It was interesting to see how they tried to work out their new future. Yet, something still seemed to be missing. I just didn’t believe the bond. It felt surface level. I’m not opposed to instalove, and I’ve seen it done well, but this one just didn’t work for me.
dnf 59% (skimmed the rest) heat chapters hot af but... - carl was annoying the fuck out of me (he was obnoxious, ungrateful and acted like a literal 3 year old at 22! All that has nothing to do with being on the spectrum and it is hurtful that it was described as if it has) - too depressing for my taste (hea only in the last chapter) - the MMCs didn't match at all regarding anxious thoughts (winslow) and the non existent ability to comfort (ty)
"Ten years without making a single mistake, and all of a sudden, I’d bedded the wrong omega." -Ty
Ty's world comes to an abrupt stop when the omega he believes is his client turns out to be a random omega who went into heat! Being the dedicated employee of Bangers & Mash he is, Ty chooses to not abandon the omega in his time of distress. But as the course of the service continues Ty finds that Winslow means more to him than what's considered normal with clients. . .
Winslow never wanted to be bonded to an alpha and certainly not at such a young age of twenty! His heat having hit him out of nowhere he found himself in the arms of a very handsome and caring alpha. Only Winslow isn't too keen about his new reality of being bonded. It doesn't help that his personal life blows up just a little more. Did he make a mistake? Is Ty's career with B&M over?! How can Winslow fix this?
"Bonds were weird."
I actually really enjoyed this lighthearted read. Granted there's some internal struggles and Winslow battles with lack of self-confidence. What happens when a bond randomly happens and derails your life? How do you work around it or integrate it into your life?
Both Ty and Winslow are having difficulties with their newfound bond. Both worrying that they completely ruined the other's life or just became a burden. They're trying to figure out each other and how to coexist, in the new stages of a relationship! Winslow's been accustomed to having to care for everyone around him that when someone else cares for him he freaks out a little. First experience with a heat and everything that goes along with it doesn't help anything!
Ty's excited that he has a bond but nervous with how to go about things. It doesn't help that his omega has a brother who needs looking after. Winslow's brother is on the spectrum and operates a little differently. Showing signs of ADHD and not having a filter in the least. Voicing everything that comes to mind even if the timing is bad.
I will say I did get a little frustrated with some of the characters here and there as the story progressed. But overall, I enjoyed this read and laughed at multiple occasions! I want to check out some of the other books within the series! The book ends on a HEA and the others in the series can be read as standalones.
With this read there's language, mention of an omega selling their heat, and addressing some mental health concerns. I did really like how the author approached Winslow and what he had to deal with as he grew up much too quickly. Ty noticing it and understanding instantly what his omega truly needed. Dual POVs really helped to showcase things! Brief encounter with a side character who had some major prejudices against omegas along with warped ideas. An attempted SA that was stopped!
There isn't a slow burn at all, we jump right in basically! With the state our omega is in and why our alpha is present makes it very obvious. Afterward of course there's some slow burn but not a lot. We get very detailed and yummy MM action scenes. During a heat an alpha has a certain special extra thing. . . This is not a shifter verse and there is mention of mpreg but it isn't shown through MCs.
Do enjoy this wild and funny read with a bit of angst. Don't forget to give the author some stars!
I can't remember if I found this book on a recommendation email from one of my favorite authors or on a recommendation post from one of my author fan pages on Facebook or on Facebook as an add. Either way, it grabbed my attention. Here's M.M. Farmer's Bangers & Mash series. The second novel is "The Wrong Omega." ["After ten years of being the best in the business, he’s messed up in the hottest way possible… Ty It was supposed to be an ordinary ESA call, but when I found my incoherent omega client in distress, I had to act. And then he turned out not to be who I thought he was. Instead, Winslow Grant was everything I didn’t know I was missing and then some.
The problem is, that “and then some” might be enough to obliterate my life as I know it. Winslow I was just trying to keep my shambles of a life together and to keep a roof over my and my brother’s head when my first ever heat knocked the stuffing out of me. Next thing I knew, it was stuffing of a different kind when gorgeous, experienced alpha, Tybalt Martin found me right when I needed him.
Ty is my hero, my champion, my alpha…but how can I ever be anything but an albatross around his neck?"] This book had a lot of angst in it, let's just start there. Angst and self-hate and talk about things omegas go through (then again, the first book had that too) and depression. Check the trigger warnings on this one, please.
The entire first two or so chapters were glorious. I knew Winslow wasn't Ty's client (even though I forgot to read the blurb), you knew Winslow wasn't Ty's client (you probably were smart enough to read the blurb), but Ty didn't know Winslow wasn't his client (hence the title). It was so...kismet and serendipity. They just had an easy...okay, none of them, no part of this, was easy. It was all hard (get your minds out of the gutter) from the start to finish, but it was worth it.
Trigger Warnings: anxiety, depression, self-hate, attempted sexual assault, talk about domestic abuse (secondary character), talk about sex work and selling heat (main character), and more.
Book of 2 half’s I thoroughly enjoyed the first part of this book where Ty, (who we met in the first book Omegaverse) who has been a ESA an emergency support alpha for 10 years working for Bangers & Mash company. He’s on his way to me to client who is about to go through the third heat. They have made plans by email as he is a very important doctor and finds time an issue. Ty is going to meet a client at the hotel called Mr Curry as he is walking into the hotel he comes across an Omega who is in the middle of heat and looks to be in pretty poor shape. Ty being the an amazing Alpha jumps into action taking him up to the hotel room and helping him through their first heat together. He couldn’t believe how amazing it was when the omega asks why do you keep calling me Mr Curry?? It quickly becomes apparent that Ty has made a fundamental error with not checking all of his information before proceeding to help the omega. Ty quickly rings the office where they get another alpha to help the client in question as Ty cannot leave this man now in the middle of heat and if he was honest with himself he didn’t want to. Ty quickly notices that he’s not acting like his normal self he wouldn’t normally kiss a client or wrapping him up in his arms and kiss his neck as they talk while they are knotted together. He starts calling him babe and sweetheart this is not the actions of a true professional but he can’t stop himself. Winslow can’t believe how lucky he is that this sexy alpha stopped to help him when he was in dire need of help. He had problems but one he couldn’t believe he just lost his virginity to this man and two, how amazing it has been. the next three days are amazing but then when the heat is over what will happen will they just part their separate ways?? Will Winslow go back to his life that is pure hell?
That’s the part of the book I really enjoyed the second half not so much. if I start putting a book down I know I’m not enjoying it. I like getting lost in a book I’m happy but I think it was a shame because this book had a really good start.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ty is an ESA and he has been got ten years, he's worked his way up in the company and he's looking forward to being an ESA for more years to come. However, things don't always go to plan. When he meets Winslow everything goes out the window.
Winslow is 20 and has been caring for his older brother Carl even since their mom passed away a few years prior. He's having his first heat and needs help, when his heat hits him while he's out he walks to a hotel and hopes it'll be safe there, once he gets to the hotel he passes out. When he wakes up next, he's under an unknown alpha and that alpha is saying someone else's name? What's going on?
Man do you start off with the heat in this book! The first few chapters are Ty helping Winslow through his heat and trying to figure out what they mean to each other. In Ty's 10 years of experience he's never felt this way.
I really enjoyed the dynamic here, they didn't instantly jump into making their relationship work. Yes, they moved in together right away but that was due to Carl spending the rent money unwisely. However, despite them moving in together they definitely have growing pains. Winslow constantly feels guilty and running Ty's life and Ty... Well he's still trying to come to terms that he's no longer going to be an active ESA anymore.
The characters are really well written just like how they were in the first book. I was really eager to read Ty's story and I wasn't disappointed at all. There was heat and angst and a bit of sadness but then when they finally talked everything out it was worth all of the things they went through.
This book was really well written, from the characters to the background. I'm looking forward to the next book, maybe at some point MM Farmer will have bonus scenes so we can see Ty and Winslow have a baby together?
I recommend this to anyone who wants to read about heats and bonded mates without the mpreg involved.
I received a early copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Carl's entire character was disgusting. He was used as the shitty older brother who wants to control Winslow as the younger brother and blames him for all of his screw ups. Carl lost their money falling for another pyramid scheme and tries to force Winslow into prostitution. Then they lose their apartment because of the lost money and Carl just automatically assumes he gets to go wherever Winslow does and stows away in the back of the truck on an important business trip. All of this behavior is then pawned off as "oh he had a terrible childhood" and "he's got ADHD or autism but was never diagnosed". This is really the route you wanted to take with this character? Really? Then the author tries to give him a redemption arc by making him good at construction and now he wants to hold down a steady day job in the new city.
Winslow clearly has esteem and depression issues yet even with the miraculous bond he and Ty share Ty still does next to nothing to help him work through this. Yes, he's working through his own issues too, but this could have been so much better if they just said a FEW words to each other and worked through things. The bosses don't talk to Ty either about how much they need him and what they see for his future with the company even seeing his own spiral of "what do I do". Until the end when everything works out because people actually use their words.
Another thing - WHAT was with the council? Seriously? This serial rapist and total asshole was allowed on the council and no one said anything until he gets caught in the act by some out of towners they want to do business with? And after he's arrested - everything's hunky dory?
Tybalt Martin (“Ty”) is an Emergency Support Alpha responding to a call to help an omega client in distress. Winslow Grant is 20 is experiencing his first heat and needs help. He is outside, so goes into a hotel and passes out. Waking, he is being cared for by an alpha who obviously thinks he is someone else as he keeps calling him “Mr. Curry”. Ty is also confused with the strange feelings he has for this Omega that he never felt for his previous clients. Ty had not intended to bond this early in his career, especially since he had hopes of staying in the ESA position for many additional years, which he now couldn’t do; and Winslow at 20 has no idea where his life was heading right now as he is still trying to take care of his brother, Carl. Ty and Winslow have much to go through. What will they do when the heat is over? Will they try to make a life together? And what about Carl?
The first half of the story is the better part where they first meet under these difficult circumstances and nature just took its logical course for the several days they had to be together. But I’ll still be sticking with the series. The stories are always clever.
The alpha hero is an ESA, an emergency sexual assistant, or whatever it was short for, which means that he bangs unattached omegas to ease their pain during their heat. But his latest call goes wrong, twice. The omega he meets at the hotel is the wrong guy, not the one he was booked for, and they accidentally bond during sex. Which is very inconvenient because it means he can't leave his mate alone in order to do anyone else, and he has to give up his job and deal with the omega's super annoying brother. But at least they used protection and nobody gets knocked up straight away. This was my first book by this author and it was a bit weird but entertaining. I don't quite understand how the male pregnancy thing in omegaverse works... Can any man get pregnant or just the omegas? But at least nobody is a werewolf here. I liked that they had problems AFTER they had sex, and didn't SOLVE all their problems by having sex. I wouldn't really advocate getting married on the first date in real life but as a fictional thought experiment, there is something fascinating about the idea of accidentally getting stuck with a stranger for the rest of your life. At least in the omegaverse you know it was meant to be and don't have to wonder if you just picked some stupid jerk for a whim.
So Ty is an ESA alpha who helps omegas through their heats. In a case of mistaken identity, Ty mistakes Winslow for a customer and the two share a passionate session until the truth comes to light. Ty refuses to leave him and instead swears he’ll help the younger omega for free.
The first 30% was pure Omegaverse SMUT. Gah! So much yum during this part. I cackled when Winslow got growly and swooned when Ty called him baby. Great heat scenes! And then the unthinkable happens and the rest of the book is a balance of guilt and misunderstanding, BUT not like most of the other reviews led on. I rely a lot on reviews. I’m glad my gut told me to ignore the negative ones on this one, because while Winslow was a bit self-sacrificing, it came from his trauma and life experiences. And luckily Ty recognized that and helped him.
I honestly really enjoyed this one. It was awesome to have most of the smut in the beginning and then the relationship. I wish we had gotten just a bit more from these two, but their ending was sweet and I only vibe good things from them.
The Wrong Omega Absolutely lovely book. I loved this story. Beautifully written with good character development and world building. Side characters are entertaining and really made the story more fully rounded. Carl in particular, was a hoot. I do hope he gets his own story. So much potential there. One of those characters that you expect to hate in the beginning, but who ends up crawling into your heart. This promises to be a wonderful series. Looking forward to the next book (Justin's story). This book works as a standalone, but I'd recommend reading the prequel (book one), How to Train Your Alpha before starting the rest of the series. It lays the foundation and will help you to appreciate the fundamentals of Banger & Mash. This first book is excellent in the way it explains what the organization is all about.
Highly recommended. ° 5 🔥 for intimate scenes. (a touch of "non-consensual" drama, quickly resolved but not without the appropriate angst. ° No violence ° First person, past tense.
