A brand new adventure in a brand new setting. In the past novels, the author has allowed herself to go overboard with the character bloat, so, in the same vein as Aileen, I’m glad she was able to mindfully and effectively use whichever characters necessary.
The story and its twists and schemes were much easier to follow this time around. It calls back to the first book a little while doing its own thing, just like the new game of the developers. I’m a little disappointed that there’s not a clear-cut resolution, but they did hint maybe it will continue in the next book? Here’s hoping.
