The Wealthy Peasant

Rate this book
Society defines wealth as an abundance of valuable possessions or money, and a peasant is a term often used to describe a poor person of low social standing. The status quo dictates that we measure success by material gain, and society passes judgment based on outward appearances. Whether it’s the car we drive, the clothes we wear, the colour of our skin, our spiritual beliefs, or the number of followers we have on social media—we are judged.

The Wealthy Peasant is a real, raw, unapologetic and inspiring reminder to everyone that true wealth is internal. It is a flint that sparks our genius and illuminates our path. It is an attitude that carries us, fuels our persistence, and feeds our tenacity. Wealth is a feeling and a knowing. We can share it and never lose it. It grows with every step we take. Nobody can take it from us.

Author Shauna Madsen invites you to turn the pages of her memoir The Wealthy Peasant and make the journey home back to your own true definition of wealth and joy.

“There are few books that I consider page-turners. From the time I picked up this book, I could not put it down because it is a global story of epic proportions…. I saw myself and humanity in every story and every precious nugget of wisdom”.

Karen McGregor, International Speaker and author of the Wall-Street Journal Bestseller, The Tao of Influence: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Leaders and Entrepreneurs

This was a very interesting read. It was clear that the author has lived a wonderful and interesting life. I really enjoyed following the authors stories and taking on board the life lessons she has learnt along the way. After reading this book it really did sit in my mind making me understand that money really isn't all that important you could easily enjoy life without it. I loved how honest and brave the author was sharing her life's story. I found this book very inspiring. I loved how the author lived in Canada as this is still a rather unknown area to me. Learning about life there was fascinating. The life lessons shauna has taught me are brilliant and I feel a better person after reading this book. You certainly can live your life to the fullest and get so much gratitude from the more simpler things in life. I definitely recommend you give this book a read if you love autobiographies of real life people who you can really learn from then this book is definitely for you .
So much praise goes out to the author and publishing team for creating this wonderful powerful and inspiring book.

It was interesting reading Shauna's story after having met her. Her book really shows her resiliency and strength of character. I was particularly impressed with her continuous learning. She may not have finished high school but she sought out books and then took courses that helped her advance her career. Her positive attitude and spiritual side are strengths through life's tough times.

Life is for living

Ms. Madsen shares her truth unapologetically. I respect and admire her for that. I was a single mother but my daughter had my love and support as well as that of my siblings. Yes, mistakes were made but we survived. I'm proud of the person and woman she is. I enjoyed reading this book and think every young person would benefit from reading it.
