I must say that I did the audiobook version, but it was not on the list here on Goodreads..
I liked the rough-edged feel of the writing style - like an old American P.I. movie, and the stories were also quite good, so all in all a good experience. However - I sometimes found myself listening, and realizing that I had missed out on the last five minutes. Words had flown through my head, but never found the way to my brain. It became static noise... So sometimes a bit hard to keep focus on the way the books were written.
Still - do not despair - it was quite enjoyable. I may even try out more of Mr. Van Coops' books.
Is what happens when you read these books, you start on the first 5pm and when next you look up it’s 9pm and you’ve rolled into the next one. I cant remember the last time a book had me so completely engrossed. Funny, really well written (seriously, I imagine the writing process involved a giant whiteboard and 1000 post its) and the best part is it’s almost impossible to figure out whodunit. Bravo! Two thumbs, five stars, 10/10 will read again.
