The trek to find Chace has finally begun, only for Nyx and River to be rocked to the core. Can they press on from the devastating attack, and complete their journey? Or will they be knocked back before they've even started? One thing's for certain. It's a long road to Bastion City.

A. has worked as a restaurant hostess, library book shelver, ranch hand, tour guide, Realtor, tech whiz, landlord, and small business consultant, all in addition to pursuing her passion of writing. As a person of many interests, her life has never been boring.
She likes to write late in the evenings and thinks drinking hot tea and baking great cookies fuels hopes and dreams.
This book leaves off right where the first book ended with Nyx and River on a journey to find Nyx’s brother! If you liked the twists and turns in the first book you will not be disappointed this time! I was kept on the edge of my seat again as every time things start going well Nyx and River need to show their resourcefulness to get out of peril! This time there’s a lot more romantic tension as Nyx and River figure out what they mean to each other.
I loved the world building in this series and the second book did not disappoint. I really enjoyed learning more about the cities, civilizations, and gangs surviving in the wastes!
This book did leave off on a cliff hanger so I am anxiously awaiting the 3rd book!

This is the second book in the Endless Desert trilogy and flows perfectly on from the first book. In this book we see a little more of the dystopian world that Nyx and River live in as they embark on the long journey to Bastion City where Nyx believes she will find her brother Chace. The journey itself is fraught with danger and peril and when they arrive at Bastion City things do not get any easier. This book is very well written and very easy to read a real page-turner. The cliff hanger at the end will leave you, like me, hungrily waiting for the next instalment.
Book 2 in Endless Desert series was a wild, heart-pounding ride from beginning to end, which, by the way, was a cliffhanger. I'm not so invested that I will purchase the 3rd book right away, but I will be reading it in the next few months. The characters have wiggled into my brain, as well as the landscape, the struggles, and the discoveries. There's a touch of romance in this one, but it's appropriate and does not feel forced. There's a tinge of mystery and dang, that cliffhanger... This is a very enjoyable sci-fi, dystopian read.
Things did not turn out so well for Nyx. Yes, they got into Bastion City, however Chance wasn’t easy to find. What they did find was always happens with any society…the wealthy elite using their power to enslave the rest of the populace. Things are about to change though. And I don’t know if it is going to be better for Nyx, River, and Chance and the rebels or not. Visitors have come calling and they’re not from he planet.
Finding the Baston is Book 2 in the Endless Desert Trilogy by K A Gandy. Chace was taken and Nyx and River are fleeing the bombing. Book 2 is exciting and intense. I really can't say much about the book or it will spoil the story for you. So, I will say that Finding the Baston is an excellent SiFi with interesting characters. I can't wait to read the last book and see what will happen next! I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.
This is the second part of a series set in the future when most of the country is a desert where small communities try to survive around the few known water sources that are dwindling. Nyx is the young girl who is a scavenger and is searching for her brother who has been taken by an enclosed community that has more than the desert communities.
Whilst seeking for her brother she has scavenged an artifact that may have given her some insight and powers….. she has also acquired a mysterious young male companion and their friendship to romantic entanglement is interesting.
They head to the 'advanced' community who have her brother and although the 'dome' has many more amenities and food than the desert communities - Nyx at one point says: "it lacks humanity".
The end is a cliffhanger - the author likes them as the end of the first book was too rather mysterious…………
It reminds me of a Television series so that you go for the next episode. I will go for the next episode if there is one. However some Dystopian series are into their 12th book and I have given up on them.
I liked this book and it is well written.

Finding the Bastion is another action packed installment in the Endless Desert trilogy. This book was just as exciting as the first which makes me want sing! K.A. Gandy really knows how to keep the pages turning.
Picking up right where the first left off, Nyx is on the move and in search for her brother. This time she must travel through lands unknown where trouble is lurking around every corner. Nyx is brave, tough and determined and she won’t let anything stand in the way of her reunion. Nyx will not have to face these challenges alone, this time the master scavenger has her best found asset along for the ride.
This YA Dystopian series is one of the best I’ve read in a long time. In fact this Indie Author has consistency that some larger publishing houses’ series lack from book to book. As a mom of 3 girls I get so excited when I find a teen oriented series with a strong female hero. Nyx Brandt fits right up there with Katniss Everdeen and Tris Prior to name a few.
I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSirens. I am leaving this review here voluntarily.
Spent time reading 2nd book. It was boring. The cliffhanger was at a bad place. Nothing good happened to any character in the story. You have the tough heroine afraid to have sex when she is not a Virgin Instead of the middle of the book (where it would naturally flow) you put it in the end of the book as part of the cliffhanger. Not enough in the plot to keep me interested.
I will say that I did wish, in both this and the first volume, that I had some sense of when this story takes place in history…I think there was one clue that it was three hundred years since the meteor strike. I’d also wish there was some clue as to where (in the US?) the story is set. But those are minor concerns. I guess after three hundred years, it doesn’t really matter. In any case this is a well-crafted story and very good.
We carry on from where we left off with Nyx and River on a deadly journey to find Nyx’s brother. It’s a treacherous road to take, dangerous, dark and intense and every time they think it’s going right for them, something or someone gets in the way and they do suffer devastating loss but they must head on towards Bastion city. Twists and turns are thrown in their path and had me on the edge of my seat and I must admit I am anxious for book three!
I really enjoyed this, a second part to a really great dystopian series! Great characters, excellent plot & storyline, a little romance but good levels of tension & pace make this a brilliant read! Enthralled from the first chapter & I was a little gutted when I reached the ending! I can't wait to read the next part! I do recommend for all that love this genre!
This adventure has all kinds of characters in different situations that get your interest, pulling you into the story completely. Quite the adventure - there’s a cliffhanger ending but you’re definitely going to want to read the next book!
This is what I've been waiting for.....something new and fresh. On to book 3. I will be sorry to see it end but desperately waiting to see what happens.
