Lippenstift & Hörsaal

Rate this book

Too sweet! AGAIN!!
(I skimmed it, sue me)

The books in this series are good. They are tooth-achingly sweet and fluffy plus they have enough content to be substantial but not enough to be deep or intense. Someone would be very content (and even happy) to read them honestly.

But all that said, they are not for me. And my "can't stomach to drop books that easily" ass couldn't figure it out until after 3 books. Ugh.

I need cleansers but I don't need those cleanser reads to give me diabetes. I guess I should just go dark again...that serves me best. ☠️

Definitely my favorite of the series so far, possibly my favorite by this author overall. Some fantastic self-realizations from both MCs, both about who they are deep down and what they each need from their partner. Hurt/comfort, but nothing very heavy, despite having one partner divorced and the other with a deceased care-giver.

Is ok

So this book has been better them the last two in my personal opinion, when it came to some more in-depth emotions, but I honestly was kinda thrown off and a little disappointed in the whole middle thing because it didn't feel true or authentic. The last book and for the most of this book Max talked about his pup side and how big a step it was to be full pup and play and go into his pup space only for it to be almost completely overshadowed by his middle space that didn't feel honest and looked more like he was just doing it to make his daddy/papa happy, it didn't feel real or honest. The only time reading this that felt honest when on his head space, was the only time he was able to be fully a pup and play and we only got one scene with that, the rest felt forced to please his daddy/papa. I had a real soft spot for Max and was really looking forward to him finding his pup and being able to fully enjoy playing again only to be disappointed, but otherwise a good story and Max is adorable.

Lipsticks and Lecture Halls by Della Cain is the third book in the Collared Ever After series.  Nathan and Max are such fun and amazing characters.  From the adorable crush, to the development of love... these men stole my heart.  The story was sweet and sexy, with just a touch of drama.  Amazing!

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with!
YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!
This is book three of the Collared Ever After series it appears each book will read as a standalone however, why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Two lost pups Nathan’s wife left him because she couldn’t deal with his likes and Max is so lost after the unexpected passing of his Master. Max has other pup friends, but he hasn’t met a Master to take the place of his previous Master. He works /handles the food services for the college and takes classes although, one professor makes him wag his tail. Nathan college professor is a or was a Daddy dom to his wife who was a little but upon realizing he was sexuality and love of makeup bothered her so that she decided to leave him. Since then he has been lonely and wants to find someone that understands and accepts him ….all of him. Collard is a club, and they are having a special event fate has both of them in the same club on the same night and the chemistry is intense, neither can ignore the magnetic pull will their differences be an issue Max is a pup, Nathan is a Daddy dom not a Master but is there much difference between the two and can they find happiness?

I like these books because they aren't always a traditional match, i.e. little and daddy, puppy and handler.

In this case, Nathan is a professor and Daddy, however when his little/wife found out he not only liked to wear make-up but was bisexual she left him a few years ago. He's been crushing on the manager of the college food services for a year and never made a move. Max is a pup whose master died and he was shattered and moved to start fresh. But he's never comfortable fully pupping out with his new pup friends. At an open house at the kink club he runs into Nathan and they connect immediately. The thing is Nathan is a daddy who likes little, and Max is a pup.

These books tend to be pretty insta-lovey but I liked that in this case they had to figure out what their relationship would be like and how to adjust to fit that they both were not quite what the other would have selected. I would think that happens quite often, and the other book with a pup and little covered this. Finding ways to make divergent needs work.

I was quite confused about Max's relationship with his Master who was married and she knew about him and it doesn't seem to have been sexual but it was kind of talked around. But it was cute a light easy read which I was in the mood for.

Nathan and Max are men who are both at a bit of a stalled place when the story begins. Nathan is divorced and not quite ready to move forward because the end of the relationship stung partially because his wife did not accept him for all of who he was and what he liked. Max' master died and he is still healing from that and not sure what he wants or how to go about finding it. They work at the same college and both men are attracted to one another but they are moving at the speed of molasses pouring in relation to approaching one another to see what is there. They wind up at the same gathering which breaks the ice and leads them to the opportunity to build a relationship not based on what they thought they wanted but what they find in one another. The beauty of the acceptance, respect and care that they give to one another as they get together was so touching. And the sexy times were hawt. I really enjoyed this story.

Nathan Walker is a bisexual college professor who loves to wear makeup. Since his divorce, he has lived a shell of life. Max Green is a pup without a master since the tragic death of his own and his life is full of his job as the dining services manager at the college. Every day at work Max watches Nathan buy a black coffee and a croissant and say nothing but one night at Collared changes everything when the two men find themselves seeing each other in a whole new light.

I enjoyed this story where they both had to handle their preconceived impression of who they were and what they wanted because love was there to mess about with them so that they would change to fit the right person. I loved that they did their best to communicate with each other and could appreciate the beauty in each other. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with a BDSM-like DDLB story with puppy play.

Max has been without a Master for a long time. His Master had unexpectedly died while Max was licked up in his puppy crate, and even though he was let out eventually, it scared him. He couldn't give in and let go into puppy space because his Master hadn't released their bond.

Nathan's ex wife divorced him because he liked to wear makeup, not because she didn't want a daddy anymore. But even Daddy's can have doubts that anyone will want them as they really are.

After noticing each other on campus of the college they both work at, barely saying hi to each other, they meet at an adoption event for little and pups! Mutual attraction is there from the first glance of Max in some of his puppy gear and Nathan wearing makeup.

This sweet story is part of a series that is all about littles, middles, pups and all kinds of kinks. I've read the other two in this series and am going to read the others!.

I'm loving Della's Collared series. Exploring all these different dynamics in this kink world is thrilling and entertaining. In this particular story, a Daddy that loves makeup and his sweet pup that may or not be also a little/middle. So interesting to read. Once Max and Nathan get over their initial shyness with each other and begin to explore their kinks it became a page turner. Their discovery was intense and oh so HOT. We see other characters from previous books make appearances and its nice...I love it...everything flows and there aren't any places where a first time reader would be lost. Love between Max and Nathan is ultimately achieved and they have a very satisfying HEA and things are left for another chapter in the series...patiently waiting:)

Acceptance, unconditional acceptance is glorious! Prof Nathan's wife divorced him because she could not tolerate his bi-sexuality or his love of makeup. He understood, so he kept his head down and worked. Max's Master died unexpectedly, causing a trauma and abandonment issues. Max, runs food services at the college. They basically spend their geographic time shyly eyeballing each other in extreme interest. Who will make the first move? Their trauma changed them. Did it make them more open to others? Exploring their Daddy and Pup sides make a sweet read. The community is inclusive and welcoming. The author paints a comforting environment for our characters. Their relationship development is a slow smooth ride. Nicely done. I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I love this book! The story of Max and Nathan is amazing and sweet and a definite must read! The two meet at work, Nathan is a professor and Max runs the college’s dining services. After a year, the two finally talk. Next, they are meeting again at a Collared event and they hit it off right away. The more time they spend together, the closer they get and they find that they are exactly what the other needs. Max finds the strength to move on from his past and Nathan is able to put his ex wife’s judgements behind him and the two are able to move on towards a happily ever after in a relationship that works perfectly for them.

3 stars - Huh, this one was nice. I liked it way more than I expected after the first two instalments. It still was a bit boring, and I didn't quite connect to the characters (also Max middle side felt forced), but I did enjoy reading it. So, not great, but nice.

Side-note: I was confused by the label 'middle'. My understanding of the mental age of a middle is 8 years at the earliest. Max his mental state as a middle felt younger than that, more like a little (as I know it). Not every little uses diapers or binkies or toddles around with blankies. Littles range from toddler-age to early school-age. At least that's my notion of little and middle.
So yeah, the label 'middle' threw me off in this circumstance and took me out of the reading experience.

I thought that this was a heartwarming and sweet book. Nate and Max were perfect for each other. Both Max and Nate have been hurt in the past but together they are finding their way and becoming closer together. I loved the pulled, connection and the chemistry that these two had. Max and Nate both have different interests but these two find a way that this perfect for them. I loved the saying on Max's clothing; it fits them to a T. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I would recommend this book and Ms. Della as a must read author.

For me, this series is characterized by its sweetness, where kink is a way of life that is flexible, open, caring, and well negotiated, and this book fits perfectly within these guidelines. Max and Nathan have been aware of each other for a long time as colleagues of a sort (they both work at the same college) but when they get the chance to meet outside of work, and to explore their possibilities as a couple and as play partners, it’s a gentle, almost easy transition from coworker to something much more. I liked how adaptable they both were, and how accepting of each other.

Great story

I absolutely loved this next installment of this series. These have all been so good and this one is just as great. Can a daddy who is used to a little and a pup who is used to a master find something in common? This book was such a happy, fluffy read. I loved getting to visit with the other characters and I love the world that the author has created. I really recommend this series.

When I get to the end of a Della Cain book, I always think the same thing. Please, please, please don't let this be the end. These stories that feature Collared are sexy and sweet with a touch of innocence. Max and Nathan found something that worked for them, and their story was so fun to read. I loved the glitter and touch of naughtiness.

I loved Lipstick and Lecture Hall by Della Cain. It's the third book in the Collard Ever After series. I loved Max and Nathan. I loved that Max is both a middle and a pup, and Nathan is the perfect papa for them both. I loved his gnome collar and that Papa loves to wear makeup. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Loved it!

Della Cain is a master at crafting sweet, low angst, kinky MM romance and this is a another perfect example of her work. Nathan and Max both think they know who they are and what they want, but once they get together, they realize they need something just a bit different.

A really enjoyable read

This was really enjoyable. About two men who might not be quite aligned in their kinks, but who being attracted to one another, and caring for one another, make the compromises that no only allow them to build a great relationship, but to adapt what they have known previously to their developing relationship.

I LOVE IT.
As always, Della brings us a lighthearted, sweet love story about two men finding what they need in the other. I love the makeup addition to the daddy because it adds something I haven’t seen before. I like their dynamic, how we see a little about previous characters and they way they develop feelings for each other.

This was so good!!!

This is what I love about Della Cain’s books. They are perfect examples of how kink and kink relationships are unique to each person. Seeing these two realize that they are beautiful and perfect the way they are plus Max finding out more about himself was a joy to read.

Lipstick and Lecture Halls

This was a cute story, and I think really meets the hurt/comfort designation. Each of the main characters has been hurt, and when they meet and get to know each other they find healing and joy. I loved their romance and journey of discovery, and really liked their HEA!

This is the first book I have read of this series and I was pleasnatly surprised. Nathan and Max want different things in a relationship but were willing to work on how their relationship would work. Such a sweet story and I enjoyed all the characters. Looking forward to Ash's story next.
