Sweet Peach #1

The Love Audit

Rate this book
It’s just my luck that my grumpy office rival looks like he stepped right out of my dreams.

I had a plan. Get this project to the finish line, and defeat Callum Sterling in the process. There’s just one problem… he’s ridiculously hot in person. A curly-haired, brown-eyed dreamboat.

I’ve been verbally sparring with Callum, resident stoic software developer, over our quarterly conference calls for the past year. Now, with the launch of a huge project on the horizon, we’re forced to see each other in person weekly. Can you say disaster?

His constant teasing and gruff rebellion should get on my nerves.

But…

Our battles in the conference room leave me feeling more exhilarated than frustrated. And when we spend time together outside of work, chemistry begins to build in a way that is undeniable.

Unfortunately, he’s got a brick wall up around his heart that makes me wonder if we’ll ever be more than enemies.

The Love Audit is a workplace enemies to lovers romcom that will make you laugh-out-loud one minute and swoon the next. It has all the sizzling chemistry you love, without any explicit scenes. Check out this first book of the Sweet Peach Series, a four-book sweet romcom collection!

Book Review: The Love Audit by Annah Conwell - 5 Stars

(Book 1 in The Sweet Peach Series)

Ya'll this was the SWEETEST and CUTEST rom-com!
-Enemies to lovers (done right!)
-Workplace romance
-So much corporate banter
-Hilarious and Relatable
-Completely clean with kisses only

I must read more of Annah's books! Loved the side characters too and look forward to more in this series of their romance stories.

In this one we follow Callum and Charlotte and they have to work together on a project - but the kicker is they do not get along. So we find an enemies to lovers workplace romance that makes you laugh and has all the cute romantic tension and banter that you want, without the characters being mean to one another.

Charlotte was SO relatable to myself and I love some of the southern references throughout the story too. We had some mentions too of God and prayer that I loved to see.

I tabbed so many things in this one and can't wait to continue in the series.

Highly recommend!

Ah, this was so cute! Enemies-to-lovers and workplace romance is one of my favourite combinations. And this one jumped immediately into the banter I crave.

The first kiss is one to remember, let me tell you. It's an you-absolutely-infuriate-me-but-I-can't-stop-thinking-about-you type of kiss. Swoon!

Working within the same company, Charlotte Parker is the audit managing director and Callum Sterling is the head of application development—two jobs I loved learning about! The employee appreciation activities were so fun ... and the perfect way to force bickering Charlotte and Callum to face their attraction.

I adored Charlotte. She is a ball of sunshine, but a people pleaser to a fault. I loved her journey of accepting herself as enough, Callum encouraging her light to shine bright.

Based on the teases of Wyatt and Grace, book two is going to be another great one! I can't wait to read it.

(heat level: kissing only)

Just precious and super cute. I laughed and giggled. I really enjoyed the character development. I appreciated the MMC and FMC were not just card board cuts out but handled real life problems and had flaws as well. It reminded me of my husband and I years ago at the beginning of our love. Reading a RomCom was on my bucket list. I am so glad I was able to read a great one! If your reading tastes align with mine I think you will enjoy this one.

I get it…
I understand the hype…
WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO PICK UP THIS BOOK?!?

Ahh! I’m obsessed and I’m so excited the full series is out because I WIIILLL be binging them now!

I haven’t related to a character like this in such a loooonnnggg time, but I saw sooo much of myself in Charlotte it hurt a little. 😅 But I’m thankful that I have my own group of people who love me and speak plainly to me!

But I lllooovvveeeddd Charlotte so much! And her love of all things pink and I was absolutely seeing Elle Woods in her. IT WAS GREAT!

Callum was…SUPERB! He was Charlotte’s opposite, but in the best compatible way ever!

The way they just KNEW each other even when they were “enemies” was so sweet!!

This book made me feel ALL THE THINGS! I laughed! I giggled! I swooned! I sighed! I’m obsessed!!!

And I LOVE LOVE LOVE that God, prayer, and Bibles players role throughout the whole story! It felt like a real life relationship with Him. He cares about the mundane things & the big things!

5/5 stars! 100%!!!!

A sweet & clean, feel good, enemies to lovers, and grumpy/sunshine romantic comedy.

“My heart warms like cookies in the oven.”—this quote perfectly describes what I’m left with.

Oh my goodness! I really adored this story right from the start and had to read it in one sitting! (Actually, I read it twice before posting this review, which is the fastest I’ve read a book in years, lol)

Charlotte’s inner dialogue had me chuckling more often than not. What a character! 😂 She’s relatable, and hilarious right off the bat. I loved her witty banter with the male lead throughout. A total cinnamon roll, who’s also a strong female lead. She’s your ball of sunshine with all the sass and sweetness and I’m here for it 😂

Callum, oh Callum. Our lovable, dreamy grump of a male lead. It was fun to see his side of things as well. That’s the great thing about Dual Points of Views, you get both sides of the story, get to truly understand both MCs, and I’m one of those people who HAS to know what the guy is thinking lol. There were times I wanted to shake him and say “What are you doing!?” Other times, I was left swooning and melting away… 🫠

I also appreciated the unique (and funny) descriptions throughout. The writing was smooth, well thought out and flowed nicely. There wasn’t a dull moment when reading.I had no difficulty getting into this right off the bat story at all, which is a big deal for me. The other characters were also fleshed out and Grace was one of my favorites—(Just give me Sophie to cook all my home meals please, because they sounded so good! 🤣). This is going right on my shelf with the rest of my favorites, it deserves more stars than allowed and I’m excited for more of this delicious cute story. 🥰✨.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

That was the sweetest cutest book ever!! I love Charlottes girly, pink, and candy obsessed personality 😂 she’s so funny and her and Callum balance each other perfectly! I love all her interactions with her friends! This book has so many funny parts! I love when she screams I’m wearing shorts in Walmart 🤣🤣🤣 and the way Callum thinks about her is so cute 🥰 can’t wait for Grace and Wyatt’s book😻

I’m a sucker for a well written enemies to more and this story definitely delivered! I loved the constant battle Charlotte and Callum were in and how they were so oblivious to their feelings. The had the best banter! The back and forth between wanting to dislike each other and wanting to kiss each other was perfection! They were so fiesty, especially Charlotte! Charlotte was such a fun, bubbly character and her character had some great depth. She was so relatable and I saw so much of myself in her. I laughed so much at all the funny situations she got herself into. Callum was such a great grump with a heart of gold. What a perfect enemies to more first kiss *chefs kiss*!! And their internal struggles and personal growth added such a great layer to the story. And we can’t have a romcom without some great side characters!! I loved the friendships between the girls, they were all so different but complimented each other so well. And I love how Brad would tease Callum 😂! Conwell set up for the next story so well and I can wait to read all the girl’s stories.

Good: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ This book was absolutely amazing! My only few tiny complaints are 1: it wasn’t made clear why Sterling hadn’t worked at the office before (or I just completely missed it), 2: Callum’s point of view was a little boring sometimes (that’s probably personal preference though) and 3: it seemed a little unrealistic to me that it took an entire year for the epilogue thing to happen. (Don’t want to give away spoilers.)
Clean: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ kisses and touches of course, but not excessive and nothing else!
Fun: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I absolutely adored this book! Charlotte is my new all time favorite character. This was such a sweet, perfect, laugh out loud book. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

DNFed this book very early. The writing contained so many details on the most irrelevant information I just couldn’t keep going. “I I did my seatbelt and got out of the car. I walked around to the passenger door. I picked up my paperwork and donuts. I smoothed down my skirt.”

I can’t. These things are mundane when you’re the one doing them, I don’t need to read a play by play of every single moment. It was also heavy on the “tell don’t show”. Three references to the character being a people pleaser in the first chapter. Show me that, don’t keep telling me that.

This book was a super sweet and swoony enemies-to-more story that I loved! It was a quick and easy read, and I loved all the tension between the MCs. Also, the side characters were really great and well-developed. I was glad that we got to see a glimpse of them and I can't wait to read the next two books in this series. I have a feeling I'm going to like Wyatt and Gracie's story even more than this one!

The Love Audit by Annah Conwell is a sweet, clean, workplace enemies‑to‑lovers romance about Charlotte “Lottie” Parker, a bright, banter‑ready audit managing director whose quarterly conference calls with her rival Callum Sterling, a stoic software developer, suddenly become actual in‑person collaboration on a major project, forcing them to navigate chemistry, conflict and the unexpected warmth that grows between two people who insist they shouldn’t like each other. It’s the first book in the Sweet Peach Series, a four‑book romcom collection centered on friends living in Atlanta with lots of humor, heart and closed‑door romance (kisses and feels, but not explicit scenes).

Right away this story made me grin at how cleverly the author weaves workplace rivalry into something flirty and unexpectedly tender. Charlotte’s sunshiny energy and self‑doubts about being enough made her feel utterly human and relatable; she laughs, overthinks and cares fiercely about her work and her friendships. Callum, with his grumpy exterior and trust issues, was the perfect contrast: guarded but secretly soft, sarcastic but sincere when he lets that guard drop. Their banter feels like watching two people dance around what they actually want, and their slow shift from irritation to admiration had me smiling in that “please just kiss already” kind of way.

I enjoyed how warm and wholesome it feels, like chatting about love and life with friends while sipping iced coffee on a spring afternoon. The romance doesn’t rely on drama or steamy scenes, but on chemistry, growth and authentic connection as two very different people learn to see each other clearly. There are real laughs, thoughtful reflections, and friendships that feel like chosen family, which made the whole experience comforting and uplifting. The clean style and slower emotional build may not be for everyone, and certain workplace scenes lean heavily into trope territory, but for me the charm and sincerity more than made up for it.

I give The Love Audit 4 out of 5 stars. It made me feel light‑hearted, hopeful and genuinely invested in Charlotte and Callum’s journey from rivals to something warm and deep, and I appreciated how the story celebrates kindness, banter and personal growth rather than angst or spice. If you love clever workplace romance with lovable characters, sweet chemistry and plenty of cozy moments, this will be a delightful, feel‑good read.

G-rated, Christian version of The Hating Game

In this day and age of endless entertainment options, the beginning of any popular-fiction novel should immediately snag the wandering attention of the reader. That is, sadly, not the case with this story. It starts out with utterly boring and irritating details about the FMC driving in city traffic with a carelessly uncovered cup of coffee. The coffee inevitably spills when she has to stomp on the brakes, but it only splashes on the floor of her car and, amazingly, misses her shoes and clothing and doesn't even get on her important business documents, which are knocked onto the floor. This led me to wonder, what was the point of having her spill her coffee? Not being prepared to prevent such an accident is inconsistent with her characterization as an otherwise highly organized financial auditor. But if it's going to spill, it's going to inevitably, in the real world, do some damage to her attire.

This initial scene then progresses to an in-person meeting, at which the MMC is the first person to enter the room. This meeting could have easily been held over Zoom, because the participants do nothing more than introduce themselves and give the FMC an opportunity to claim they will need to do more such useless meetings in the future. It is simply a convenient opportunity for the FMC to see what the MMC looks like for the first time and find out that he is gorgeous.

We are told within this same first chapter that the FMC is a former beauty queen, that she has a practiced smile, and her personal identity is tied up in having everyone like her but, as is typical for this trope, with a single exception. Only one person doesn't like the "sunshiny" FMC, the "grumpy" MMC. But rather than that weird anomaly existing as a burr under her metaphorical saddle, she doesn't care one little bit. Instead of exercising her knee-jerk charm on him, she consciously chooses to incessantly quarrel with him.

I struggle, in general, with the "enemies to lovers" trope, because it is extremely rare that the enmity is based on anything other than one or both of the MCs being immaturely rude toward each other. In this book, it is both of these characters who behave badly. I assume that the reader is intended to view these ill-tempered interactions as amusing. Unfortunately, I don't find this type of unprofessional behavior endearing.

The main reason I believe this story is supposed to be a Christian romance is because the FMC prays, but that is the only thing about her behavior that seems to equate with primary principles of Christianity. In particular, she makes no noticeable effort to avoid the sin of pride and puts huge attention on worldly superficialities. It is also not at all clear that the MMC is a Christian, which would seem to be a major prerequisite for the FMC having a romance with anyone. However, others who read Christian romance far more frequently than I do may be less picky than I am and only demand an occasional prayer and no sex. If so, this book delivers on that.

I did appreciate that the audiobook, which I obtained through Hoopla, is a duet narration, with the male voice talent narrating all of the male characters, and the female voice talent narrating all of the female characters. Unfortunately, I found the female narrator's voice rather grating. It made my experience of this novel even more frustrating. I had to speed up the listening rate to get through this novel more quickly.

The Love Audit is the first book I have read by Annah Conwell, but it won't be the last. I would already be "reading" the second book if it was on Hoopla, but sadly it is not!

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that The Love Audit was a Christian book. The faith content is light and not preachy, but I wasn't expecting it.

I absolutely adored this book. It has great humor, relatable characters, witty banter, opposites attract and so much more. I loved both main characters, Charlotte and Callum, and their relationships with friends and family. The series will focus on Charlotte and her roommates and I am here for it! Now to find time to binge the rest of the series, in between the ARCs I have committed to, sigh.

This one brought out all the feels, including a few tears (happy, sweet tears). Neither Charlotte nor Callum are perfect and they have things they are working through as the book progresses, but seriously, I devoured this one.

I had the privilege of knowing Annah before she published, and I can say that her debut novel was everything I wanted.
The love audit is a clean romcom that does not skip out on the witty banter or sizzle. An opposite attracts, workplace romance!

Charlotte Parker was adorable. Her femininity was written very well, and I loved her personality. Yes, she was a people pleaser, but I felt that it made her even more lovable than she already was.
Y’all know I love an elevator scene, and this one was my favorite scene. Charlotte was relatable and a total cinnamon roll.
Callum was swoon-worthy, and although I wanted to shake him sometimes, I fell for him just as quickly as Charlotte did.

Overall, I want to say congratulations to Annah for such a fantastic read, and I can’t wait to read more. (Wyatt and Grace in particular.)

I went into this book thinking I was gonna love it. I am OBSESSED with this book!🤩😍 I cannot begin to describe to you how much I actually loved it!

This book was so much fun! I thought it was so cool how they both worked for a bank, as I’m a bank teller. While my job is completely different than Callum and Lottie’s, it was still neat to see a job so very closely related to mine. I’ve never read anything where there characters jobs are even remotely similar to mine, probably because I read mainly historical🤣 And I can attest that no one likes audit🫣😅

Anyway, I loved Callum and Lottie from the very first page! They had me grinning and giggling like a fool!😍 They were so stinking cute! I loved all of their relationships with their family and friends too!🥰 So sweet! Aahh!!! I just loved this!!😍🤩

I am so excited to continue this series!

I have found a new author!! This book was so cute! I am a sucker for the "enemies to more" trope so I was pretty sure I would like this. The witty banter between the two MC's was great, and the competitiveness between them made for some great scenes. Also I enjoyed the friend group and look forward to reading each of their books. I read a lot of closed door rom- coms, but this one even had some faith elements that was a nice change.
I am pretty sure I am going to need to read everything this author has written! I am off to find book 2.😊

“Oh no. Butterflies.”

“I’m all in, Parker.”

🦋☀️👙

📜Overview: a cute, summery read, with southern charm!

🫶🏻Characters: Parker is a hot mess, sometimes a biiiit childish but fun to read about — she likes pink, legally blonde, coffee, chocolate, sour straws, is extroverted, and drives a baby blue Volkswagen Bug, just to give you a taste of her personality! I wanted to slap her everytime she pouted, whined, and stomped her feet (she’s TWENTY-FIVE), but I did my best to skip over those areas. Callum is cute, kinda standoffish, but takes care of his disabled mom — he’s antisocial, loves chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and vanilla lattes.

🫀 Romance: they started liking each other/being nice to each other very quickly, about 30% (which is good because enemies to lovers in contemporary romance is kinda stupid and I wanted to get it over with), BUT the timing of the relationship felt wonky — they start dating by 60% and spent that time fighting, making up, meeting each others family and friends, and constantly sabotaging their relationship with their personal issues + the third act breakup… not something that I’m interested in reading. Of COURSE both of them had a moment of thinking “wait — LOVE?” Yeah that’s a personal pet peeve of mine.

✍🏼 Writing: Humor feels slightly millennial (?) at times; a couple of situations the MMC and FMC get in are written kinda odd? I’m not sure how to explain that; it’s obviously unrealistic but it felt forced as well, I guess.

🌻 Season: summer!

CONTENT: clean!

I absolutely loved this book from Annah Conwell! From the first page to the last I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of reading! If you have been around here for a while now you will know that my number one trope by far is Enemies to Lovers and if you throw in Grump/Sunshine then I am just in heaven. And having read so many of those types of books my standard is pretty high, but this book just nailed it perfectly!

I loved that though this book was definitely a romcom it had enough depth, emotion, and character growth that it kept me invested. I also loved that Annah wrote it so well that the humor enhanced the story and had me laughing out loud.

I loved both the main characters Charlotte and Callum because of how opposite they were of each other, but also how well they balanced each other out. I loved that they weren't perfect people, but that each had struggles they needed to overcome and that they were able to turn to each other for strength.

I also loved that there were so many great supporting characters and that this is a series where the others get their chance at love too!

If you are looking for an amazing Romcom that can make you laugh out loud and then swoon in the next moment give this one a go!
