In the heart of Nevada's unforgiving terrain, Taylor Allen, a woman haunted by her past, finds herself thrust into a perilous game of survival. Witness to a brutal double murder, she flees, seeking refuge on the first train out of town. Her journey, however, is far from an escape, as she's pursued by a relentless killer across the rugged expanse of the Western frontier.
Meanwhile, John Fielding Jr., returning from a business trip, never expected his journey home to intersect with Taylor's desperate flight. Bound by circumstance, he becomes her unexpected ally, his own demons mirrored in her plight. Together, they embark on a treacherous quest for truth, navigating the rugged terrain and shadowy corners of a train hurtling towards New York.
As Taylor's faith wavers under the weight of fear, she discovers a glimmer of hope in John's unwavering presence. Their bond deepens amidst the chaos, kindling a love that defies the odds. Can Taylor's faith withstand the trials ahead? Will John's determination be enough to protect her from the danger closing in? And in a world where justice is scarce and survival uncertain, can love truly conquer all?

The premise of this story was interesting & original. The characters were pleasant, although not particularly memorable to me. I would love to read more about the Women’s Work Exchange, so I will probably give the next book in the series a try. The story being written in present tense was off-putting to me though. Maybe going in expecting it in the next story (I assume) will help it not feel so jarring.
I what I mean by the heading, being a soft read, is that the danger, treachery, assaults, murders, etc all seemed to pale into the background of the romantic story told. Thus the story had no pulse racing, or tautness in words or emotions. It evoked only a kind safe easy read story. Not a total waste of time, but as I picked it up as a freebie, I’d be disappointed I paid for a book I’m simply not going to remember. Clean in all aspects.
I really liked this book. Lynn Landes is a very talented author. I found it hard to put down the book. Taylor and John made a sweet couple and I especially liked how Taylor lived her faith. Lots of action and a little romance. Looking forward to the next book in the series. Thank you Lynn Landes for this new series.
This one is clean with messages of faith in God. Facing terrible violence, Taylor fights for survival running from a man who wants to enslave her. While there is violence and tragedies, there is a romantic ending, and moral themes prevail. An enjoyable clean read.
Saving Taylor is a beautiful love story about a man and woman who found love in spite of events threatening to pull them apart. Read this book to enjoy this sweet story! I am glad I read it!
What an awesome young lady Taylor is: beautiful, sweet and with a voice of an angel. This is a must read book, with excitement, mystery, danger and love.
I always like a story of strong women and Taylor proved brave, resourceful and strong. After witnessing murder she shows her strength and faith as she fights for her life and freedom. Loved how so many helped her along the way.
The plot has wonderful possibilities. Unfortunately the book was stilted at times. The conversations were disjointed. There was little character development. If this was a first book, then it was decent. If this is from a seasoned author then its not the most impressive.
Taylor was brought to an opera house to pay a debt for her father’s gambling. She was strangled by her boss and lost her voice. She gets away. She meets John and things get interesting. Jeanette Stracner
Taylor was sold to the opera house for her father’s gambling debt. He went to the church and they gave him money to buy her back. She was brought to the office and saw two killed and she was choked and lost her voice. She escaped. Soon she meets John. Jeanette Stracner
This was a fascinating story. The songbird at the opera house is almost branded for making a mistake and instead witnesses a double murder. Now, she has to run for her life!
I was interested in the premise of the Women's Work Exchange, but there was really very little. Maybe the author is just setting the stage for further books. I hope so.
Taylor finds herself on the run after witnessing multiple murders at the hand of the man who had "purchased" her from her father. Taylor seems to be always figuring things out one step ahead of disaster. I enjoyed Taylor's grit and determination as she navigates the path away from danger and towards answers.
I would have liked getting to know Taylor and John a little better. His attraction to her didn't speak of deep abiding love, but of puppy love and possession.
I will try the 2nd book. I hope it fills out more details about the Women's Work Exchange!
This story started with a intense scene and continued as the resourceful heroine fled from the working for a man who intended to take her life. I enjoyed the characters and the twists and turns of the plot. This story is not for the faint of heart.
