[Saving the Tragic Adonis]

Shu Ning read a CEO novel. In it, there was a beautiful and tragic villain. He was clearly the true young master of a wealthy family, but he was switched at birth and became a delinquent. Later, he returned to the wealthy family to go against the fake young master, fought for his fiancée, and finally fell from the top of a building and died.

After his death, the fake young master inherited his money and his fiancée, his career and his love.

Shu Ning resentfully tore up the novel and transmigrated into the book that very night.

The little villain shook his legs, cursed, had horrible grades, dyed his hair yellow, didn’t have a single good point.

Shu Ning’s eyes twitched: Before sending him back to the Wei family, let’s make some changes. Otherwise, he’ll be rejected by the Wei family again.

After being reformed by Shu Ning.

The little villain didn’t shake his legs, stopped swearing, and cut his crazy, scene-style hair. He was as beautiful as a fairy and took first place in the entire grade.

Daddy Shu Ning shed tears of relief: Our baby is so good. He’ll definitely be able to get rid of that fake young master!

But isn’t baby a little too good?

He casually created a piece of software and sold it for hundreds of thousands.

He casually bought some stocks and made millions.

Before his wealthy family had even found him, he had become wealthy all on his own.

Every time he earned some money, he would offer it up to Shu Ning, buying him this and that, even buying him a villa!

Shu Ning (drooling): This damn villa, quickly take it away, don’t tempt me!

Yin Mingzheng thought that he was trash of unknown origin, someone that no one cared about. He thought that he was someone who should have perished long ago.

Until that day, when he met the only light in his life.

So he clung onto the light tightly, refusing to let go.

His light said: You have to improve yourself.

So Yin Mingzheng worked hard to become better and stronger. He wanted to protect his only light. Because his light was the sole meaning of his existence.

This was a great novel about helping change someone's fate based on their family experiences. You really feel for Yin Mingzheng, especially in the beginning when he's a prickly hedgehog used to being blamed for everything. His slow growth from an isolated, angry youth to a young adult who learned to accept people's flaws and be more forgiving towards people who care about him was really great to experience. I could definitely relate to Shu Ning's experience of a father raising his cub lol.

English name : Saving the Tragic Adonis

I love these types of redemption stories that show how people's lives and happiness are more a matter of upbringing and chances than set destiny. If someone really cares and invests into a person, that person can overcome their background and supposed fate.

However, I feel like the author missed this obvious conclusion from her own story, or decided to de-emphasize it. Instead, the author seemed to feel that the moral should be that a happy cuckoo story is illogical and needs to be corrected. Instead of focusing on how people are a product of circumstances, the author for some reason makes the cuckoo parents absolute villains and hints that there's something inherently mean in their child's genetics. Rather than have the ml rise up from his poor upbringing based on his own merit, the author afixes on him a golden finger in the form of a brain hemorrhage of all things. He goes into surgery with the possibility of mental damage and somehow leaves with supernatural learning abilities and newly activated (possibly genetically inherited) business instincts. This ironically reduces a moving and morally sound rewrite of a trope-y story into an unrealistic fantasy similar to the one that the mc originally hated. I mean, what is the moral in the end? We are doomed or blessed based on our genetics? Children of people who go to jail and women who can't live without relationships are destined to use others and scheme for their own selfish benefit? What sad morals.

On the other hand, the story does have its good sides. It teaches tolerance and giving people who unwittingly hurt others another chance. It teaches the benefits of lending a hand when others are in need. It teaches the value of family love but the damage of thinking of family in terms of the benefits they can bring.

I especially love that final idea. Many families I know treat their family interactions as a series of transactions. I owe you rent and pay you back with yearly visits. Why keep so much accounting between family members unless absolutely needed? In families that can afford it, this just reduces a potentially loving gesture into cold monetary exchange. It elevates money above familial love.

Finally, while the main couple is quite cute, and their story is rather satisfying in a "domineering-ceo-raises-childhood-benefactor" kind of way, it's a bit unrealistic. In an unequal relationships like this, once the mediocre-but-initially-better-off person has helped the other reach their full potential, they're usually abandoned for someone that better fits their partners new social standing and ambition. This mc is prime abandoned wife material. Helps ml when young, but quickly becomes eclipsed by ml's accomplishments; determined to make a career out of love and loafing around; maybe do some charities on the side. His character fits well in this story, but like everything else in the novel, he is a romantic trope that would probably fail in real life. The author even inadvertently alludes to this when the mc listens in on an argument ml has with another genius programmer. The mc is lost and doesn't understand anything, slowly realizing that he could never argue with the ml like the other programmer. It turns out that when the mc and ml argue, the mc is usually wrong and only wins because the ml gives in to him.

One good point about this relationship is that the ml doesn't try to hide anything from the Mc. The mc knows the ml's real character, his flaws along with his brilliance, and isn't going into the relationship with unrealistic image of the ml.

2.5/5 I feel complicated about this novel; it was a disaster at times but evidently entertaining and sweet at times (since I did not drop it).
It is melodramatic which is generally fine but the antagonists were exaggeratedly contrived. Zhou Juan, especially, was written as a character that is irredeemable and deserving of all that is bad in the world, which made her two-dimensional, despite there being chance of her being written better.
As for the romance, I liked the relationship between the MC and ML, however, there was not much of it. I also felt like there were a couple of loose threads there such as the almost nonexistent ML grandfather's reaction to ML's identity and true power, all being glossed over - which was anticlimactic to say the least.

I loved this scene:
"Within Shu Ning's eyes, there seemed to be tiny glimmers of light. They were as gentle as fireflies flitting about on a summer night. A cool air floated along, dancing in the moonlight and the breeze.
A single glimpse was enough for his mind to fall quiet.
His argument with Darker, his plans for the project, his ideas for Pegasus' development, they all seemed to be far, far away. His mood was unprecedentedly peaceful.
This person was his only harbor from the relentless rocking of waves."

"No te preocupes. Simplemente dejaré a la familia Wei".
"¿No te arrepentirás?"
"No." Wei Mingzheng negó con la cabeza. "Mientras estés aquí, no me arrepentiré de nada. Siempre me cuidarás y estarás a mi lado, ¿verdad?".

4* para Saving the Tragic Adonis

A good read. It healed my sad and melancholic heart this evening.

I’ve read it in one go. I would like more. ☺️

The story is quite tragic and dramatic in the first part of it, you might experience crying your soul out for the poor child (ML) and his life.
But we have our MC here, our little Sun, to help saving the day.

The story is really dramatic but heartwarming in the end. It’s all ended good.

Almost no romantic.
Plot holes and some moment are not explained.

I’m feel a little lost when author did not put more avoid his injury (will not say much so it’s not spoilers). It looked like author might have just forgot about this. I was expecting more opening on this aspect, but it didn’t take much of role.

But if you don’t be to picky and just forgive this story some mistakes, it’s a good evening read to heal your heart.

Recommend to give it a go.

Gong posesivo, tierno y lamentable.

They so cute, I can't.

BEWARE of SPOILER

Shu Ning transmigrated and found out that the villain's life was so tragic that he wanted to change it. But, an accident occurred and he forgot his mission. He regained his memory when they both were in high school. It took a while for the villain, Yin Mingzheng to warm up to Shu Ning after all the abuse he received.

The reason I did not give this a full star was that I skimmed most of the earliest chapters. I did not lost much knowledge because the important information was retold in the later chapters.

3.5⭐ Transmigration into a book. Domestic abuse. Bullying. Found family.
The first half was really good. It focused on different types of abuse and how that can affect the victims and the people around them. Unfortunately, the last third of the novel was really rushed. The plot was wrapped up just like that. There is no romance to speak of. Even the slow-burn tag is too much for what it is.

The story was good but personally I feel like it’s “half-cooked” and was a bit rushed. Also MC’s soul age was ambiguous. He had double degree in his real life, meanwhile ML just a middle schooler when he’s transmigrated to the novel. I know at first their relationship was platonic, but it’s still making me uncomfy.

Classic history about transmigration and the person who saved the villain, short, angst/confort but with a happy ending so was ok.

Pd.It is worth mentioning that I have a weakness for these stories, so as long as I have a story with good character development, it is a safe 4 for me.

overall. pretty good. bit cartoonish at times, but thats just how it is ig. Lots of fluff. A bit of dog blood fighting, especially in the family feud arc. MC and ML are both likeable. I quite liked the MC's parents too actually.

It’s the first novel I finished after dropping so many. It’s was a nice and satisfying ending. It reads more like a general fiction than a romance novel, but overall so sweet and precious. And a lot of heartbreaking moments at the beginning as you read what the ML is going through.

I’m giving it a 4.5.
