I was promised smut and I only got bourbon bottles and mediocre grinding sessions. Also - why the fuck does every boy in this book keep saying things like "high off stripper pussy." Unless you're literally huffing coke off her labia, that's not a fucking thing, my guy.

GUYS 🥵🥵😅😅 grab an ice pack because you’re gonna need it 😂 the sexual tension between Beast And Grim is Insanely intense!! And I’m all here for it!!! If your looking for hardcore smut then this isn’t it. BUT we get so much more. I’m sweating just thinking about the attraction between them two, there is something about forbidden love that makes things that much hotter and my god when that tension gets snapped it’s going to be EVERYTHING 🥵😜 I absolutely love both Beast and Grim, I’ve been dying for their story and it didn’t disappoint. They both have a place in my heart and I adore them. I was so engrossed from page one, dying to unravel their dark and twisted fairytale, I’m so happy it’s going to be a duet because I wanna savour their story and it would’ve been too sad for it to end so soon! That said, that cliff hanger?! Hmm not ok Bea!! Lucky we know the outcome from other books but still, just no 😣😂 This book was also actually hilarious!!!! like full on belly laugh funny guys.

“She?! Who’s she, the cats fucking mother?”

“I meant Alice.Fuck, man. Sorry!”

“Alice?! Who the fuck is Alice?” 🤣🤣🤣 dead.

I literally devoured this book in one go. I’m honestly obsessed and NEED the next book in my life!! Like you said Bea, the female version of blueballitis is real!!! 😂😂😂

“Life isn’t like a fairytale, and neither are the books I read.” My absolute new favourite quote. It’s now on my instagram and I really want it tattooed too! It would be my first 😂 although no one can beat Beasts newest tattoo 🥺🥺 where do I find myself a man that would do that for me?! 😂😜

Absolutely loved it Bea!! You smashed it 🖤❤️

Yup. Nope. This is not for me. I don’t want a reading slump. The writing and dialogue are so cringy… every sentence ends with an exclamation. The characters were also cringe.
I realized that this is a spinoff from two other series so no wonder all the 4-5 stars…

First book in the Grim & Beast Duet. Gangster Romance. Delicious banter. Forbidden relationship, virginity, touch her &unalive, younger/older & bodyguard/princess tropes. I was invested in this read. Honestly it was so bingable!

Honestly, I’m pretty let down. This was recommended to me because it was “hot” and “steamy” and they couldn’t put it down. I felt like I was reading a high schooler’s fanfiction.

The dialogue was rough and cringy. How many times can the author write fuck in one paragraph? The writing in all caps when a character is upset and screaming just added to the cringe. I hate the word pussy, but it was so overused in this book. “Grade A pussy”, “stripper pussy”, “high on pussy”. I’m over it. It would have been different if the plot was better, but it was pretty simple and easy to guess what happens next.

I hate the way she ended it. I get the cliff hanger, but everything was so rushed and forced at the end. I don’t want to put myself through reading the next one.

3.8 stars. Academy of Stardom is my favorite RH series, and Grim and Beast are amazing side characters in it. So, I was thrilled to hear we were getting a spinoff of their origin story. You could probably read this without having read Academy of Stardom, but you wouldn’t get as much out of it (and, I don’t know why you’d want to skip Stardom, since it's excellent).

This book isn’t their origin story from the VERY start, since they already know each other when it begins. But, they aren’t the characters we recognize from later books: Grim is 17, and she has traces of the badass bitch that we know and love her as, but she’s also a virgin, she's uncomfortable at the prospect of killing someone, and she defers to her powerful gangster dad, even as she often chafes at his orders. Beast is 22, he works for her dad as his head of security, and he often fights in his club and babysits Grim. They have chemistry, but Beast is unwilling to make a move because of her age, and because she's his boss's daughter. So, it's got a forbidden feel to it.

This story doesn’t have that much in the way of plot. Stuff happens, there are fights and tense meetings with gangsters and scenes in nightclubs. We get to see Beast bring Grim the hearts of her enemies – which is referenced in later books, so it’s fun to see that. But, it’s mostly just a slow-burn of Grim and Beast as they circle each other and the tension builds. This isn't a bad thing, the tension is delicious, but as of now, I think the second book of this duet will likely be more satisfying.

It’s weirdly lacking in setting. We know Bea Paige’s British criminal underworld well from Academy of Stardom, so the sense of place is strong, and the locations are familiar. But, it’s oddly hard to pinpoint what Grim actually does in her daily life. She's not in school, and she's "in training" to run Tales club with her dad. But her "training" doesn't seem to take up much of her time. In Academy of Stardom, Pen was working in nightclubs, or she was in school dancing. In The Masks and The Dancer, Christy was in the castle. In this book, Grim is all over the place – she’s with her friends in bars, she’s hanging out with strippers, she’s in Tales a bit, but it’s her dad’s domain. It all feels a bit random and scattered. If you asked me to pinpoint what Grim's life looks like on any given day, I’d have to shrug – whereas with Bea Paige’s other heroines, I could easily answer that question.

I’m also mixed about the choice to make her a virgin. On one hand, if Grim was the same badass bitch that she is in later books, then she wouldn’t have much of an arc. So I’m fine with seeing a version of her that’s less self-assured and less experienced. But on the other hand, it’s tiresome to see so many stories where the hero sleeps around so much that he’s legendary, and the heroine is MUCH less experienced. And I don’t want to blame Bea Paige for other authors’ sins, she’s far from the only one to do this! But, it’s been a pattern in her books, and it feels like a bummer to have it in this one, because it’s a real missed opportunity to go down a different path, since Grim is different than her other heroines.

I’m also not sure I even buy that Grim hasn’t even been kissed, it doesn’t feel realistic. Her gangster dad scares guys away, yes, but Grim is Grim! She doesn’t let men control her! So, to me, this trope of experienced hero/ inexperienced heroine feels out of place in this particular story.

Other than my minor qualms with it, though, it’s a treat to get to look at Grim and Beast's past and see where it all began. Even though it IS less plotty than Bea Paige's other books, I like that she has the confidence to give her stories a different feel - her books never feel like she's giving us the same story over and over, the way some other authors do. Grim and Beast's story is very different from Pen and the Breakers, or Christy's and the Masks. I don't LOVE this as much as I love Pen and the Breakers story, but that's hard to compete with. This is a fun slice of that world.

As always, I love this connected world that Bea Paige has created in these books, and I’ll read anything she writes. I’ll be eager to read book 2 in this duet, I’m glad the wait won’t be long.

I got this book during one of the Stuff Your Kindle Days and I’ve wanted to read Bea Paige’s work for the longest time and when this was available, I decided to jump right in. This book had so many twists and turns and was on the edge of my seat.

This book has two points of view. The first is Grim aka Kate. Grim is a nickname given to her by her father, the Ruler of Tales, an East End underground fight club. Tales you win. Heads you lose and the fighter of Tales never lose. As a kid she’d believed her father was a real king, like the ones found in myths and fairytales she once loved to read. The men he ruled were his faithful soldiers sworn to protect the club, him and her. Until one day, his most loyal soldier, Beast, made her an orphan and the newly crowded Queen of Tales. But this is no fairy tale, and she doesn’t own a crown. This is real life. Bloody, violent, and filled with alpha men who use their fists to settle every dispute. Now the Beast is back and he’s ready to finish what he started. To strip her bare, take her heart and devour his soul. Except she is no longer daddy’s little princess. She was nicknamed Grim for a reason, and she is ready to fight. The second point of view is Beast. He is a beast in name and a beast in nature. Once upon a time Tales was his home. He was the second in command and the best goddamn fighter the club had ever seen. He fought and won. Every single time. Until one day he lost trying to protect the princess from the true monster of this fairytale. She shunned him and sent him away. Now she is back to tell her the truth, not some fucked up tale full of half-truths and lies. He will do whatever it takes to win her over, because if there’s one thing he knows for sure; this beast’s heart only beats for one woman. The Queen of Tales.

Why on earth did I wait so long to read a Bea Paige book? Holy smokes!! This book was amazing. The storyline had me on the edge of my seat. The twists and turns that were coming out towards the end had me STRESSED. The slow burn between Grim and Beast was just brilliant. I was waiting for the smut and all we got was a steamy and sexy kiss that I was giggling like a five-year-old once it finally happened. The way that it happened in the tattoo studio and the declaration of love. Holy smokes. The cliffhanger was mean and now I can’t believe how that ended and now I'm going to be waiting for a while. I loved the banter and the chemistry between the two characters and I would love to see more of the side characters especially Grim’s friends.

The background with where it was based, which I'm assuming we will read about in her previous work as it’s all in the same setting. Besides the overly using the word C*nt, I had no clue this was set in England. I thought it was set in America, I was expecting preppy boarding school boys. Yet, this is also a book that mentions Manchester which is literally 20 minutes away from my town and yet it’s down in London. But I had no clue where it was set. I had a few issues with Grim’s virginity being a prize. I get her dad being a grade A prick, but then Beast wants her to be pure and to be the one to mark her and all that shit. Like I get the age thing, but if you are going to make it about the age and the fact that you want to wait until she is twenty, then at least let her experience other boys and being an eighteen-year-old.

I am dying to read Head You Lose; however, I am going back through all the books as stated with Bea Paige’s order of reading. So, I've got maybe like 15-17 books before I read the second book on this series, which might kill me.

I enjoyed this book so much. This was such a lovely reading experience and one that kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire time. This book was just a delight to read.

This book is the first part of a duet so a lot of the book was setting up the story, the characters and their romance and I really enjoyed that. I really liked learning to know everything about this story and I really enjoyed how everything was built up.

My favourite part of slow burn books is the tension and the pining and there was so much of both of those in this book. Which just really worked for me. And while this book is a slow burn, it was also super romantic and it made me swoon so many times. Everything about this book just did it for me.

I just loved how much they wanted to be with each other and how you could see that through their every action. Their life situations prevents them from being together but I love how devoted their are to each other and how they wanted to be together no matter what.

The ending of this book, damn thats just cruel. I don’t think I have ever been this excited to read a sequel of a book so I can know what happens next. I was just so engaged in this story and I just need to know how it will continue.

I received an ARC of this book, and this is my honest opinion

At long last, we have the Bea Paige story I’ve been waiting for two series to revel in. Grim and Beast, the fan favorite characters that captured ALL our hearts have finally taken over the page. Tales You Win is their story, and what an unexpected but triumphant story it is! And what a start to this duet- it’s beautiful yet gritty, heartwarming yet heartbreaking, gentle yet volatile all at once. Tales You Win captures the very essence of the characters we love while also expanding their being- it’s consuming, it’s intention, it’s emotional, it’s magnetic. Just like the characters we love.

These two captured me from the first moment they graced the page, so of course I wanted to know everything about them. We’ve already seen them post HEA, we’ve already witnessed how easily their love and partnership evolves and adapts to every challenge in the future. We’ve already seen them be the stalwart constants orbiting each other, the reliable presence and emblem of love and loyalty. That’s how we fell in love with them- the magic between them, the charm, the connection swept us away- stealing scene after scene from some very loud and charismatic other characters. Because we could see the energy between them- even as secondary characters their love sparkled so brightly we couldn’t help but bathe in its beauty.

So, we needed their story like we needed air….yet, I was nervous. It was risky. I love these characters with such a ferocity, just from experiencing them as secondary actors in others’ stories, that I was nervous about cracking apart something so perfect. Situating them as leading protagonists was likely easy- we all already saw them as such. But Bea had the impossible task of telling a story in reverse- of somehow unraveling and rewinding, breaking them apart vs. putting them together. All while ensuring they don’t lose the very things that make them magic. She had to somehow make us see them differently, but also the same, helping us understand them better without changing the fabric of who we knew these characters to be. It certainly required a delicate hand and character-focused point of view, and fortunately Bea has that in spades. The love and tenderness she has for these characters pours out of these pages- just like the love Roger has for Kate, the bodyguard for his princess, that Beast has for Grim. I was apprehensive, but I was not disappointed- Bea not only connected me more deeply with the characters I love, she also stayed true to all that they are.

Truth be told, this is not at all the story I thought we’d get for the bold and self-assured Grim and the faithfully besotted, terrifying Beast. Interestingly enough, this isn’t quite an origin story, this isn’t QUITE the beginning. Bea convenes these characters before they’d fallen into each other, but the context and history that shapes them is already well underway. But that only makes it all the more rich- because both of these characters are already in conflict about their feelings. I anticipated the angst and tension between them- the longing, the misdirection, the tension and insane chemistry. What I didn’t anticipate was how much they’d be in conflict with their own being. This isn’t just about how they became a couple- it’s also about how they became the humans that they are. And that beautifully intersects with their romantic adversity - loving one another is undeniable, it’s given. But choosing to be together is all the more challenging when they are at a crossroads in their own identity. It’s the ultimate existential crisis- because who you are impacts not just who you love but HOW you love, and what you need.

Tales You Win. The flip of a coin. And a beautiful metaphorical reference to the most brilliant part of this story -- these two characters finding themselves at odds with the two parts of themselves. Kate and Grim, Roger and Beast. Nature and nurture - two souls who are trying to survive and thrive in the world they’re part of. Yet, they are both at different junctures of their identity- Kate is on the precipice of becoming the Grim we know, but far more vulnerable, hesitant, and impulsive than we remember. And Beast has already made his choice- letting go of the man for the animal, less jovial and warm than we remember, but no less charming. But his princess calls to his humanity, the man he buried. Both are teetering- two sides of a coin- desperately holding on to the parts of themselves they recognize while looking at a future that both are committed to but have to make sacrifices to realize. Sacrifices they were willing to make, until it was each other. We get to watch these characters try to figure themselves out- while still being everything we love. Grim is still loving but fierce, fun but powerful. Beast is still stoic and sassy- terrifying yet swoony. All the facets, all the pieces come to life in this story, in these moments. And only because of the catalyst their love is for each other-they see themselves BETTER through the eyes of the one who holds their heart. And most beautifully, we see just WHY their love is so magical. We knew it, now we get it. Beast and Grim nurture, respect, and love every single piece of one another- both sides of the coin. With each other they never have to choose, never have to flip the coin- they can be the entirety of themselves, every facet, every piece. Without apology or shame or fear. Together, they get to be WHOLE. Their FULLEST self, without sacrifice.

The burn, though, is excruciatingly slow. Like lady blue balls for DAYS. Bea, you cheeky naughty girl, making us wait so long to get inside their minds and now waiting to get them between the sheets! But, while slow burn isn’t my thing, this feels right. Both because of who these characters are, and because we’ve seen the aftermath of a hard fought battle for each other that we’re just now starting to understand. It makes the journey feel more weighty and powerful. The sexual and emotional tension are so deflty created I quite literally could hear my heart pounding. But by sidelining the physicality of this romance, Bea cleverly ensures we hone in on it’s true heart and soul. These are two characters who unequivocally love every piece of one another and who also love each other enough to sacrifice to be together. And because of this, while we’ve got several other characters and quite a bit of action and suspense, the narrative feels quite introspective, highly existential - these characters are figuring out just how to BE before they can figure out how to be with each other. So, the angst is real, but the swoon is also high. Their love feels epic, it feels meaningful and life changing- the smut will come (I want it), but these characters have never been driven by their physicality alone. They are one soul living in two hearts. Hearts that beat for each other. And, even if the steam is light, the tension is NOT- this was literary edging. Meow. And the foreshadowing of the smexy to come….......

Since this is a duet, anticipate a heart wrenching cliffhanger. Even if we know the ultimate ending of these two fan favorites, it doesn’t make it any more heart aching. Because even if we know the end game, we’ve yet to fully learn just how they got there- the pain, the loss, the love and hope it takes to get them to where we first met them. I could not love these characters more- my heart is so full, and so desperate for more.

ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY ADDICTING

From the very beginning I was enthralled and captured into this world. Beast and Grim… Roger & Kate! Yes. So much yes!

This story has so much push and pull. You don’t know when it will turn in their favor. You see it inching closer and closer and closer… then Bea pulls the rug out from under you!

And that cliffhanger. As an ARC reader myself I could only picture the amount of kindles and phones that were broken and thrown across the room!

Now I’m running to grab Heads You Lose! Because I definitely need more of Beast and Grim!

The sexual tension is off the charts!!! If you’ve read other books by Bea Paige, you know we’ve all been waiting for Grim and Beast's story, well … it’s finally here! And WOW is it intense and amazing! I love Bea’s writing, it’s so easy to get lost in the pages. There is so much emotion, passion, chemistry, and angst. It feels intimate, like you are right there with the characters, all twisted up with emotion. If you’re looking for a super spicy book this, isn’t it, but Grim and Beast’s chemistry together is off the charts HOT. This book is the building blocks of their love/hate relationship. Grim has been one of my favorite characters since the beginning and to see her get her story is wonderful. It’s not an easy or simple love story by any means. There is love and hate within these pages. They must hide their feelings and eventually something’s got to give. Well, it does here and let me tell you it’s fantastic. It’s sinful and delicious, even without the super smexy times. If you like slow burns this is for you.

It’s dark, by no means is this a light happy book. Grim and Beast carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. Watching them navigate their world with Grim’s father, Carter, and the mysterious King is fascinating and intense. Beast is the muscle and boy does he fight like his namesake; he is THE Beast.

So much happens in this book, it’s easy to see why their story needed to be a duet rather than a standalone. I love getting to see other characters from other books pop up in this story. It’s like saying hi to old friends. If you are looking for something with tons of angst, drama, secrets, and fire this is it, look no further. Seriously, this book is fabulous, and I couldn’t get enough.

If you are part of Queen Bea’s Hive, you know what to expect, but their journey from the beginning is amazing. I can’t wait for the next book; I’m expecting it to be more explosive than this one and I am so here for it. Congrats Bea on another fantastic book, your way with words is incredible! It is so easy to fall in love with the characters, and get lost in their amazing world. She’s a one click author, I can’t get enough.🖤

This is a book that I’m genuinely embarrassed of how much I enjoyed. At times the dialogue was cringey and the plot was predictable, but the main over arching trope/plot was 🤌. This felt like something I would read straight off Wattpad. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out this was a Harry Styles fan fic originally. It was London’s most notorious gang leader’s daughter meets cage fighter turned bodyguard. And yes don’t worry I have already started the second one.

First time reading a book from Bea Paige and I found it hard to finish, I was about to DNF this since it felt like it lacked so many emotions and especially spiciness, I didn't get a good plot or a good perspective to move forward. This book was a level one on spice and a level 5 on teasing us (Insert lots of eyeroll emoji here). Each chapter I didn't know who's point of view it was, wished it said Grim or Beast above each chapter. Songs in the chapter wasn't necessary. Telling some parts of Beasts past didn't make sense, to me it felt like it had to be put in. Beast overall was a good character, he was the good aggressive type. The part where they talk about his private, ruined my imagination, crossing my legs cause I'm traumatized! Grim was too much, felt like she was 17 forever, without spoiling... her character wasn't it and her friends were boring, I haven't slept so fast reading about them. Last page was predictable plus rushed and I'm still debating if I should read Book 2.

I think all readers of Bea's have been waiting for this book. We met Grim and Beast in the Academy of Stardom series, and then we read about them when they had an appearance in Their Obsession duet series. I loved this first part in the duet, We get their back stories on how they first met and all the turmoil they went through to be together. I relished the slow burn of their story, when a slow burn is done right it is perfection and this was chefs kiss. This book was full of heat, steam and so much tension and the banter and flirting between Grim and Beast was off the charts. It ends on a cliffhanger but I am not upset because we already know what their future looks like. Well written and cant wait for book two in this duet.

Tales You Win is the first part in Grim & Beast Duet series by Bea Paige. It tells the story of Kate ‘Grim/Princess’ Davidson and Roger ‘Beast’ Smith through their dual perspective.

With Grim and Beast having been first introduced in Academy of Stardom series, followed by their appearance in Their Obsession duet series.
Their time to shine has finally come with Bea Paige allowing us to delve into their story, learning about their past with seeing just where they came from, how they came to be who they are and end up together.

One thing Tales You Win did not have me expecting AT ALL was just how big and long of a Slow Burn it truly was. Not to say that was a bad thing, because it wasn't.
But honest to lawd, this first part to Grim and Beast Duet series turned out to be THE SLOWEST EVER Slow Burn read ever.
It was like riding the most slowest rollercoaster to ever exist, instead of the usual fast speed.
And yet it still managed to reel you in more than you would think or expect, waiting in anticipation of will they or won’t they and the biggest one WHEN?!
Especially given the sexual tension they exuded, because let's be real Bea made sure there was a hell of a lot of that, so much so that you could cut it with a knife.
The back and forth paved way for the growing connection between Grim and Beast, leading to sparks flying and temperatures soaring with the physical attraction they felt for one another being enough to start a fire!
It was as if whenever they encountered one another a switch went off, and the temperatures rose in the snap of the fingers. Making it obvious that their interactions were anything but simple or innocent. Particularly when Grim always provoked the Beast pun intended.

When it came to the delivery of the narrative that included thrilling action, drama, growing suspense alongside the mystery, the journey for that particular ride ended up being a total contradiction of the Slow Burn ride.
Ultimately having you feel like you were on two different rides, considering the two main pieces that made up the story. Grim and Beast’s lives being one and the other being their relationship.
It’s ultimately what had you continuously turning the pages, seeing the two parts come together and try to fit in with one another. Creating an adventurous path to the overall picture that was Grim and Beast’s story

Talk about an intense and major cliffhanger. Especially with the suspenseful build up that led to that ending of Tales You Win.
Only time will tell what will happen in Heads You Lose, the conclusion to Grim and Beast Duet which Bea Paige has me looking forward to reading.

I remember first being intrigued by Grim when she was introduced in Bea’s Academy of Misfits series. Then later after getting to know her and Beast in Academy of Stardom, I knew I needed more of their story. Tales You Win is written as a love letter from Grim and Beast to their daughter, but it’s also a love letter from Bea to her readers who have been asking for this story to be written. And as one of those readers, for me part one couldn’t have been more perfect.

Tales You Win is an agonizingly seductive slow burn, written to perfectly capture the sizzling tension and crackling chemistry between these characters. I couldn’t get enough of the banter, and I just know the teasing build up is going to pave the way for some explosive spice in the next book.

Grim is my girl, and the type of person I’d always want on my side. Badass and brave, standing up for what she believes is right and doing it with intelligence and determination. And Beast, HE IS EVERYTHING. I have been waiting so long to be in his head and I loved experiencing the connection he felt for Grim and how he struggles with his feelings and ultimately gives in.

This book takes place in the London gang world, so there is a fair share of chaos and bloodshed, but much of the story focuses on the relationship between the main characters. I’m excited to see how the plot moves forward in the next book and where Bea takes this story next.

Technically, you can read this a standalone but I strongly suggest first reading Academy of Stardom at the very least- it will greatly enhance your reading experience. If you want to fully immerse yourself in this world, Bea has a recommended reading order for all of her books in this shared world where there is character crossover.

I may or may not be emotionally unstable at work after finishing Tales You Win by Bea Paige, despite knowing Grim and Beast have a happy ending eventually (don’t come for me that’s not a spoiler, they appear in other books!). Tales You Win is an tension-filled romance starring Grim and Beast and their forbidden love affair.

Beast is her father’s second in command and tasked with being Grim’s glorified babysitter (aka bodyguard). Being the top fighter, no one messes with him inside or out of the ring, and if they do… well, his opponents aren’t usually conscious to tell the tale, if they survive. He’s strong and sexy with tattoos and piercings who would do anything for the girl he (doesn’t) love.

Grim is a woman who has grown up in a life of crime. She takes no shit from anyone and can hold her own in a world dominated by men. I was in love with her sass and fiery personality within the first couple of pages and related to it on a deep level (I will also be stealing some of her comebacks). The fact that she can still show vulnerability through her tough exterior was heartwarming and not always seen in FMCs that are written to be tough.

It’s obvious to everyone that they are meant for each other, but they’re not supposed to be together. Not only are they trying to convince each other and those around them that their relationship is platonic, they are also trying to convince themselves.

While there is no smut in this book, there is lots of sexual tension that Bea PROMISES will be worth it in book two of this amazing duet, and I cannot wait. If you love action, explosive chemistry, amazing banter, a love story of epic proportions, and a plot that will keep you guessing, then Tales You Win is for you!

Get ready to fall for Beast in ways you never imagine. Kate’s transition to Grim and all the juicy bits in between, if you are one of the hive you know what to expect. If not get ready to fall for our girl Bea and devour her entire back catalogue as that’s what this duet will make you wana do!

If you follow me on Instagram- you would know I’ve had a permanent hard on for the absolutely amazing @beapaigeauthor from day one of picking up Freestyle. Got to chapter 3 and ordered myself the whole back catalogue! I have and always will be a head cheerleader for my girl.

So I have been honoured to be part of her Beta team and read a snippet of Tales You Win, the first instalment of the Duet telling of Grim & Beast.

This is a love story between two very head strong and passionate characters (who Hive readers will have met during the back catalogue) and it’s dripping with passion, defiance, murder and much much more. We will see/hear from some other much loved characters and I can assure you this is one you will want to bump up to the top of you TBR!

This may be my favourite Bea book yet! (Still love Malakai & my Breakers, but Beast is next level!!)

This isn’t an easy journey for them, it’s an instant attraction but slow burn, which ends book one on an epic cliffy. You will want a day to yourself to absolutely devour this first instalment. So I read this book about in 2020 and fell in love with @beapaigeauthor and all her epic world. Two years of building up what I call a friendship and I am now a Beta reader so when I say this book if FCKIN awesome I mean it! If you read Academy of Stardom then you will have meet Grim & Beast, and don’t tell him you didn’t fall in love with these supporting characters. Well now you get to read about their journey.

So keep your eyes open for the new book releases April 30th, for you next fix!

Oh my!!

Let me just say Beast was giving me ALL the butterflys from the very first 10% of this book and he carried on until the very end. He is to die for  I could not get enough of him and his dickish attitude. I want it all!

"𝑫𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒇𝒖𝒄𝒌 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒔𝒉𝒆'𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒂 𝒃𝒆 𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒆𝒏, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒆'𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒖𝒄𝒌 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒖𝒑 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓."

Beast and Grim's chemistry is scorching! Baby girl let me tell you, you don't need the spice, those two and their words and actions towards each other is enough. I was living for Beast's POV when you could see how he felt for Grim but at the same time also how loyal he is. It's actually heartbreaking towards the end as you get to see how hard he's battling with himself and his feelings for Grim.

"𝑭𝒖𝒄𝒌, 𝑰 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒊𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒔𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒎𝒆."
"𝑰 𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅. 𝑰 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒌𝒊𝒔𝒔."

The scene in the tattoo chair had me close to tears and getting ready to pack my stuff to go find Beast 🤣 honestly this man 🥺❤️. He melts my heart as well as my panties! Their first kiss probably has to be the most powerful kiss I have read. It filled my whole body with ghostbumps. It was explosive - it wasn't just any kiss!

"𝑰 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒖𝒔, 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖. 𝑰 𝒇𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖."
"𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆?"
"𝑷𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒆 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆."

That ending!!😲 I am soo shocked I did not see that coming whatsoever. I honestly had to sit there like wdf just happened, wdf did I just read. Wdf!? I cannot wait for Heads You Lose!! I need it like yesterday, I can't wait to read more Beast and Grim, to find out what happens. A truly amazing, hot and powerful read, Bea ❤️.

HOLY SHITBALLS. The sexual tension, the angst, the freaking emotion between these two was everything! I could not put it down because their chemistry was so freaking amazing, I just wanted to keep going. Grim & Beast we’re way more then anything I could have expected, like holy shit I want them both. Beast had me swooning for him since the very beginning, ugh just the way he was with her🤩 I loved how strong & fierce Grim was. It was so nice to see a woman in this world that wasn’t completely innocent or unable to handle herself.

Since this is book 1 in a duet & a slower burn there is not heavy spice in this book. With that said, the sexual tension between these two was more than enough to get me hot & heavy lol. I mean let’s just say when we finally do get more spice…. It’s gonna burn the MF page!

My heart hurt towards the end when we see just how hard Beast is struggling with his feelings for Grim. The heartache & angst these two gave me were utter torture. PLUS THAG FREAKING ENDING. Like what?! I wasn’t expecting that at all & holy shit I need book 2 like asap. These two have me hooked & I’m ready to see how they are gonna fight for their HEA🖤

What the bloody hell was that ending??? I literally screamed noooooooooo you can't leave me hanging like that at my kindle app, lol. Still I can't tell you how much I wanted to get my hands on Grim & Beast's duet. I've loved both of them ever sense they popped up in other books before this one and Tales you win didn't disappoint. Grim & Beast steamed together throughout this book with all of the sexual tension and witty banter that they had. I loved that we finally got an insight into both of them and with that killer cliffhanger ending I'll be counting down the days until book 2 is out now. An absolutely brilliant read

I've always loved Grim and Beast, ever since I first met them in the academy of stardom series. I couldn't wait to read their story and bea paige did not disappoint!

It's nice to see another side to Grim, and also understand how she became the way she is, the hardships she has faced and how beast became her one and only.

I'm also excited to see what happens next and I've definitely got an itty bity crush on beast now!

Fantastic writing by this amazing author, I can't wait for the second part of this brilliant duet!

This book became a hate read because I refused to let this be my first dnf. I think mafia romances can and have been done really well. The fmc has so much internalized misogyny; which makes sense for what she’s surrounded by, but every other page just reeks of it. This book reads like a rough wattpad book. Slut this, whore that. The books plot is all over the place and most of the interactions didn’t really connect well at all. truly think this might be one of the worst books i’ve read in a while

Wow, I’ve loved listening to this book and I literally had to start book 2 straight away. I’ve been obsessed with grim and beast since reading the academy of stardom series and reading their own story was incredible. Watching beast war with himself over wanting grim but also being loyal to her dad and then him carving out the hearts of her enemies to give to her….strangely romantic. There is the tiniest hint of spice in this book in like one scene but stick around for book 2 because it really goes up a notch from there. This one has a cliffhanger ending and it’ll leave you like me wanting to read book 2 straight away!

Hands down HOT! This story of the beginning of Grim & Beast is absolutely spellbinding. I could not put it down until I finished it. We definitely needed this and I cannot wait for the next book! So much tension between Grim and Beast that it can’t help but explode. The emotional pull of the book is breathtaking. Well done!

This book was angst with a side of snark

I wasn't sure what to think of this book at first, coming in blind having not read the academy of stardom, but I absolutely loved the chemistry and the back and forth between grim and beast! There's so much standing in their way, including beast himself, and I knew we were in for a slowwwww burn. All I can say is I'm glad I didn't have to wait for book 2 after that ending though!!
