We all feel a certain way during different times and think that we're alone in living through it all. Maybe our experience is unique, maybe the way we react to a situation is exclusive to us. But that sentiment we feel in a particular moment, that’s not ours alone. We’re all bound by the way our minds feel various emotions, right from anger to excitement, and from fear to pride. Dive into the world of these emotions through poetic expressions in this book. Each poem focuses on one single sentiment with the intention to show how each emotion or the way we feel because of them, can make or break us; while also convincing you that it's completely normal to experience such things. 'Strength is in accepting that you are not, and cannot be, strong always.'

'Who cares? The one in the mirror does, the reflection of your strength and survival.'

Book name: A Piece of Your Mind for Peace of Mind (Kindle Edition)
Author: Manali Manan Desai
Genre: Poetry
My Rating: 4.1/5
The book is a rhythmic wave of words that capture your soul. It is a collection of poems that settles in your heart as soon as you turn the first page. It engulfs you with endless emotions as if each poem is your own journey.
Words are beautifully crafted and the book is artistically presented. The book's format appeals to you as soon as you turn the first page. The dedication at the start and the pictorials are the show stealer. My favourites from the book are- homecoming, break not a break-up, celebrations, home, and full circle.
These short poems have settled into my heart in a short time. I'm going to read it all over again and live the essence of life.
Kudos to Manali for doing a splendid job with limited words and infinite emotions.

“When I realized life had come full circle
I knew then that what I had felt most of my life was something I could let go of.
And just like that my anger was replaced with acceptance”

What lines! I fell in love with this book. In our lives, emotions, sentiments, circumstances, and experiences are crucial. Even though each situation presents a fresh experience, many of us nonetheless express the same emotions. The use of rhyme, imagery and other literary devices seems quite natural and unforced in the poetry. I want to point out how AMAZING and UNIQUE the COVER and TITLE of this book are. There are 45 overall poems in the book, all of which are excellent and make you feel engaged. I believe I could readily sense all of the author's attempted portrayals of the emotions, subjects, and problems. Some poems made me smile, some made me feel thankful, and some were just a trip down memory lane of feelings and memories.

These poems are written in simple terms that everyone may understand and utilise to decipher the book's content. Some poems are so inspiring and relevant. I appreciate how the author presents her emotions as her close friends. The poetry is succinct and intense. I read the book in a short period. I particularly love the poems: Full Circle, and Lost Identity. All of the poems were good but these two pulled on my heartstrings as I was reading them.

Manali Desai's unique collection of 45 poems, "A piece of your mind for peace of mind", exemplifies the grammar of emotions and how they affect our lives regularly rather than just occasionally.

The poems' use of rhyme, imagery and other literary elements comes off as very organic and unforced. The poem starts with an emotion in the reader's mind and then explores that emotion using an event or circumstance from their own lives. Additionally, the poetic piece is concluded with a sweet little graphic design.

These poems are written in straightforward language that everyone can comprehend and use to understand the substance of the book. Some poetry is incredibly uplifting and relatable. I like the poem "Hello old friend". I adore the way the author depicts her feelings as her good pals.

The poems are brief and emotional. I needed only a few sittings to finish the book.

It's a pleasure to read Manali Desai's book, A Piece of Your Mind for Peace of Mind. It is a little book with only 92 pages that includes 45 poems. Some beautiful and calming poems can be found in this book. I was deeply moved by the poetry on a deep emotional level. The author skillfully crafted each verse. An adorable graphic design wraps up the poetic text.

The author has attempted to provide the readers with some in-depth thoughts at certain points. Despite being kept basic, the poem's parts are incredibly captivating. They vary in quality, with some being the best. Homecoming and Celebrations are two of my favourite poems.

Every poem is brief and straightforward but has a profound inner message. With a straightforward narrative writing style, the language is plain and clear. The book's title is highly suitable and also has some context-related meaning.

Although the book's cover is well crafted, the author deserves praise for picking such a lively design. Everyone should read the book, but poetry enthusiasts, in particular, should do so because of the moving poems. Overall, I enjoyed reading it. Cheers to reading!

There are 45 freestyle poems, each telling you something profound.

A person like me who doesn't understand poetry could connect with the writings in this book because they were all feelings and emotions spoken straight from the heart. I loved the small illustrations at the end of each poem. The cherry on the cake: is the feeling mentioned at the poem's start. It set the mood for reading ahead.

There are 45 poems in this book. Some of the poems are relatable. They explore different emotions within us. There are some feelings that we hide in our minds. These poems bring out those feelings. I really loved some of these poems.

The first poem was really heartwarming. I always depend on my mother. She is my everything and this poem is something I can relate to. I call her a thousand times on my way to college. She wouldn't get angry because she knows I need her.

The second poem broke my heart. I have experienced a few of those things.

Scarred for Life, Becoming Undeserving, Mind vs Body, Instability, Uncertainty, Unsurety, Closer Than They Appear, Say 'me...', Not in So Many Words are some of my other favourite poems from this book!
These poems talk about the problems faced by our society, especially our generation. The anxiety and fear we face are clearly depicted in these poems. These poems show how this judgemental society spoils our life. The one who makes fun of others doesn't know how that affects the other person. Even a simple laugh of mockery can break down a person.

I can talk for hours about this subject.
This is a really good book❣️

Book: A Piece Of Your Mind For Peace Of Mind
Author: Manali Desai
Pages: 92
Formate: Kindle version
Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Emotions, feelings, situations, and experiences play a very important role in our life. In every scenario the experience is different but the feelings we showcase remain the same for many of us.

This book beautifully depicts the feelings and emotions of human beings in different situations and the positive and adverse effects of it. Also, these 40 poems teach us the language of sentiments and their imprint on our lives.

I loved the idea of the author behind this format, it's not like a normal poem that we read, rather it's a very unique way of reading about our sentiments and our ability to handle them positively.

Sometimes rejection and failure are important to learn the value of acceptance, until and unless you learn to accept you can't enjoy the happiness of what you have.

The poems which I liked the most are
Moment of joy
Lost identity
Follow Unfollow

Though every poem is at par with emotions and sentiments.

A worth read for sure.

A page-turner bunch of poems. For every emotion we experience, Manali Desai has a poem. They are poignant and touches a cord in our heart. My favorite being, 'Scarred for Life'. 'What caused the pain, the person who caused it, the words that led to it. The actions that came before and after it...'
She has beautifully captured the essence of human emotions through her poems. There is a poem for everyone, for every single emotion. The illustration at the end of every poem is poetic in itself. Another favorite from this bunch is 'Mood-i.' A state of mind, I identify myself with often. 'Wanted to do a lot of things, ended up doing a few. Because the mood was such I didn't want to move...
If you are feeling lost, weighed down by emotions that take you by surprise, then you simply turn a page and you will find a poem that will resonate with your mood of the day.

"To keep trying to make everyone happy, and failing all the time. What am I getting in return?
I don't know for how long I can keep doing this"

Firstly I want to say that the COVER and the TITLE that this book has is very UNIQUE and AMAZING at the same time 🧿✨

The book has 45 poems in total and they all are so good and makes you feel all involved. 💘

The emotions, the topics, the issues that the author has tried to portray I think I could easily feel them all. Some poems made me happy, some gave me a sense of gratefulness, gratitude and some were just a memory down the lane of memories and emotions. 💞

The language used is beginner friendly which makes it easier to read and connect to. I feel super grateful and happy to have read this. 🥰

I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND everyone to pick and read this. ❤

Manali has done an excellent job of writing this book in such an impressive format. I am not an enthusiast of poems, but this was a wonderful collection that was so relatable. This book discusses human emotions and emotional reactions in a variety of situations, as well as the positive and negative consequences of those emotional reactions. It is a one-of-a-kind collection of 40 poems that exemplify the syntax of emotions and how they influence our lives on a daily, instead of an occasional, basis. These poems can be appreciated and understood by anyone. I recommend reading this pleasant and meaningful collection of poems to anyone who enjoys poetry or is looking for inspiration.

What makes a poem good?

Feelings.

That feeling can be a negative one or positive, happy or sad, love or hate, and if it plays with your feelings, it becomes a good poem that you’ll read again and again even after years, it will open all the boxes of emotion that you have kept locked somewhere in your heart.

The book is written in very simple words but plays with tons of emotion that everyone experiences. I finished this in a couple of hours and if you’re too looking for something that can make you think twice about all the negative thoughts then this poetry book is for you.

Poems are always a mood changer. And it is also good for mental health. Especially if the poems are based on that.
This book is a collection of such poems about our mental happiness & sadness &love & anxiety &etc. I love the collection a lot.
I would definitely recommend it to everyone. Maybe it's not fiction, it's not a love story (in a way) , not even a thriller or anything but this is actually a love story where you'll learn how to love yourself and the importance of loving you first, which is of course necessary.

"The way you're feeling might be unique but you're not alone in feeling the way you do."

It's been ages since I read poetry. I am so grateful to Manali that I could read her wonderful anthology today.

The book ends so quickly that you won't even realize you're done with it. But, the impact will leave you thinking for long.

Each poem talks about different types of human emotions and behavior. Some of them are sacrifice, fear, beauty, grief, anxiety, confusion, vulnerability, mood, empathy, happiness and envy. Sometimes, only we know why we behave in a certain way.

My favorites were home sweet home (as sweet as it's name); homecoming (about a soldier); such a boring life (tells us the I'll effects of anxiety); breaking the norms and the feeling is mutual (I could relate to it); moments of joy and Follow, Unfollow (A-Z lines).

Having said all these, it's definitely not a joke to write poetry. A special like emoji to the images at the end of each poem. It takes a huge effort and kudos to Manali. You've done a fab job. I highly recommend this to everyone.

My Rating: 4.4

In today’s world, where life has turned into a rat race, and people depend on their devices, using emojis to express their feelings, Manali Desai has used the self-same emoticons to illustrate the forty-five poems through which she has presented an entire kaleidoscope of life. Every poem begins with an apt emoticon and a feeling expressed by the poet, which serves as a hint to what lies ahead. Many of the poems are also accompanied by cute doodles and illustrations which further add to the essence of the content.

The eye-catching cover image is in grey and blue, maybe denoting the various hues of life, the yin and yang, the good, the bad and the ugly. The pun that makes up the title is unusual and effective!

Manali Desai’s poems cover a plethora of emotions, both positive and negative, that people go through in their day-to-day lives. The message they convey is that it is normal for humans to experience the ups and downs of life, to ride a seesaw of emotions. The language is simple, revolving around one central idea, denoting the commonality of emotions experienced by humanity.

The themes range from relationships to friendship, from self-doubt, shame, lost identity and frustration, and self-acceptance, self-assurance and love. There are references to ‘Home, Sweet Home’ and occasions when the poet wonders about 'What To Do, What Not to Do'.’. The poem ‘Full Circle’ talks of how after years of anger and frustration, the poet accepts that “life had come full circle/ I knew that what I had felt most of my life was something I could let go of/ And just like that my anger was replaced with acceptance.”

One of my favourite poems is ‘Mirror, Mirror on the Wall’, where little barbs create a dent in a person’s confidence, but at the end, “the self-assurance dominated the self-doubt again.” ‘My Bad’ touches on the topic of doublespeak, where words convey dual emotions, hurting loved ones, and ends up with half-apologies.

The author’s emotions shine through her poetry. She treats life as a learning process, where she urges the readers to go on with confidence, trudge on and learn and grow. However, she also warns them to ‘Take a Break, Don’t Break’, and instead pay attention to the signals that the mind and body give at regular intervals. Life is ‘Sometimes Easy, Sometimes Tough’, and ‘Instability, Uncertainty, Unsurety’ play their roles in adding tension to life.

Manali Desai’s biggest forte lies in her ability to choose apt titles that give a hint of what lies within each poem. Nowhere does she claim that life is a bed of roses, and the nuggets of wisdom she imparts are invaluable. While most of her poems are in free verse, there are examples of acrostic poems like ‘Breaking the Norms’, and ‘Moments of Joy’ which talk about the sources of joy from A to Z. The latter, along with ‘M For Mischief’ are two poems that touch the heart with their joie de vivre, especially the statement that works as a page breaker - "I Solemnly Swear that I Am Up To No Good.” The poems titled ‘Don’t Stop, Make it Pop’ and ‘Not A Regular’ seem to define the attitude of the poet… quirky, fun and “A something that sets apart/The regular from the not-so-common.”

In my opinion, one of the most understated and yet beautiful poems is ‘Not in So Many Words’ where love is conveyed in different ways, ending with the query “Does love always need to be verbal?”

While this book has many plus points, the only point that maybe, went against the grain, was the fact that some of the poems seemed repetitious at times. However, this takes nothing away from the content of the book, which packs a punch even as it illustrates many hard hitting truths, both positive and negative, which make up the essence of life.

A Piece of Your Mind for Peace of Mind by Manali Desai is a fantastic mind blowing poetry book it will easily attract you if you be a poetry lover because of its simplicity in language. This one is a collection of 45 varied poems written on themes ranging from acceptance, anger, love, body shaming, identity, kindness and life in general. I connected with many of them, especially those revolving around women, their power, struggles and place in the society.

Before reading poetry, one should be aware of one's own foresight and far-reaching mentality. And I can say this for sure, there are very few books of poetry where the mind is finally expressed through weaving such beautiful vocabulary in such simple language.

Moreover, the perfect use of punctuation in each poem has given me a different kind of joy. I'm overwhelmed. The use of punctuation in poetry plays an important role which has been responsibly observed in every poem here. This book discusses human emotions and emotional reactions in a variety of situations, as well as the positive and negative consequences of those emotional reactions. These poems talk about the problems faced by our society, especially our generation. The anxiety and fear we face are clearly depicted in these poems. These poems show how this judgemental society spoils our life.

Whether you are a Poems book fan or not. You must read this book. I am sure you will like this book Overall, I liked the book .The title is quite appropriate. The writing style of the book is interesting. It's my best read so far, I absolutely loved every page of it. Of course I would recommend this book to all readers...

Total 45 poems based on different thoughts and last poem is 'Strength, not Strong' ... Hats off to the poet...

A Piece of Your Mind for Peace of Your Mind.
Written by Manali Desai.

You rarely come across books that make you want to start again right after finishing them but that's what this book made me feel! Every single poem was delightfully chaotic, a beautiful mess it felt as if it was written for me, about me!

𝑨𝒔 𝑰 𝒕𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒔𝒊𝒛𝒆, 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒓,
𝑰 𝒂𝒔𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏, “𝑫𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒅𝒆𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒎𝒆?”
𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒔𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅, “𝒀𝒆𝒔, 𝒊𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔. 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒚𝒆𝒔, 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒊𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒍.”
𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇-𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒅𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇-𝒅𝒐𝒖𝒃𝒕 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏.

Words that sound like a never-ending echo and you can't help but stop and process it, understand it, and let it give you a warm hug!
The poetries are delicate, simple, and endearing in that they so effortlessly capture the essence of human nature and thoughts, life and its unpredictability in this current era.

The themes covered are incredibly relatable, it has the right amount of depth to tug your heartstrings. I took a break after each page, I replayed it in my head and recalled many beautiful verses. I just like to highlight that the allure of these words was downright magical
It was -
Passionate. Volatile. Genius. Magical.

That's what this book was for me. I am rather taken by surprise by the emotions captured by Manali Desai. Her writing is evocative, engaging and refreshingly beautiful. What's new and fresh is the writing and the way the narrative progresses.
The quality and sheer excellence of the book blew my mind. I was completely satisfied with the complete read.

Book: A Piece of your Mind for Peace of Mind.
Author: Manali Desai
Genre: Poetry

I picked up this book after a long time as I needed something light and easy to get back on my reading track. I enjoyed reading this short and quick read.

There are days when we feel tired when we have self-doubts, and angry when people fail to understand us. As human beings, we undergo too many emotional turmoils every day.
Hence, words like:
“Be brave”
"You gotta be strong”
“Learn to live with it”
“It happens to everyone”
These are the lines most of us have heard and lived through. A Piece of your Mind for Peace of Mind by Manali Desai is a collection of 45 poems that talks about all these different emotions and turmoils. The concept is very unique which makes this book an easy and quick read. The language is simple which makes this a comfortable read. But there are a few points where I felt that some poems could have been elegant.

In this collection, there are quite a few poems which make us wonder about our emotions, our experiences, and our relationships. The words of this poem kindle our emotions. Some poems make us relate to similar situations, some poems give us warmth, some feel like home and there are a few which prick like a thorn. No matter how we feel, this book is worth a pick if you are looking for a short poetry or a poetry fan.

I have never felt so connected and personal while reading anything. Whether you are a poetry fan or not but you must read this book. Even the illustration at the end of each poem is very poetic in itself.

This book has very simple language, easily relatable and understandable to everyone. I had a very good time while reading this book on my balcony with a cup of coffee. It is a collection of 45 poems each dealing with some or the other human emotions like joy, vulnerability, fear, anger, insecurities etc.

Of all the collections of poems "Home Sweet Home" is my favourite one. I was just imagining myself in every character of the poem. It feels like the author has given words to what we feel in our everyday life. Success, failure, motivation and inspiration, there is something for everyone.

All kinds of human behaviours are portrayed well in this book.

The author has brought our emotions into every book she ever wrote and I am just a big fan of her writing.

These poetries just gave me a good vibe and a positive attitude towards my future. I felt several emotions while reading such beautiful lines by the author.

I recommend reading this pleasant and meaningful collection of poems to anyone who enjoys poetry.

This book is a collection of 45 poems and Manali has explored the idea of how each of the emotion that we feel can translate into a poem. As you start the book, each poem comes as a surprise as you feel the emotion that the poem tries to portray. The poems have their own distinct style and I felt that none of the poems have a common theme or a common format for that matter. Another thing that hits you when you read the book is that the book is not just about poems, but about how we react to certain emotions. I loved the manner in which Manali approaches the topics and how she uses her words to bring to light the two sides of the human psyche, and everything in between, as is evident from the choice of the cover of the book, and how we oscillate between the light and the dark. A special mention from me is to the poem titled “M For Mischief”, because I really loved the style of poetry she uses and the chain of thoughts that gets ignited as you start feeling that repetitions in your mind.

There is something deeply unconventional about Manali's latest poetry collection. Starting from its title to the rainbow of genres that encompass this eclectic collection of poems, I am sure many of them would tug at your heartstrings like it did for me. The poems reflect the simplest of joys, the beauty of experiences, memories, and nostalgia, and a rich life that doesn’t have to depend on money to be successful. Written lucidly, using rich and eloquent language, the poems are emotionally expressive. Out of all, my personal favorites are 'Where I was, where I am' & 'Celebration'- to name a few. The poetries does not shy from the ugly realities of life. For what is life, if not a journey rife with joy as well as pain. And if and when we learn to accept sorrows as part and parcel of it, life becomes much easier. To sum it up, Mindful Musings and Peaceful Ponderings is a deeply insightful and profound collection that I would certainly recommend to all lovers of poetry.

"A piece of your mind for peace of mind": the title aptly harmonizes with the existing mental predicament of most of us that offer bonuses like anxiety, stress and procrastination in glut and all we need is a piece of our mind to lead us towards the peace of our mind by optimistic contemplation. For me, at the end of a hectic day, all I desire is to drink a strong cup of tea in my cosy nook with a good book that has the virtue of solacing my mind and this is one of that kind ❤

If you have been following me then you must be knowing that after reading the author's second book I have fallen for her work and this book was no less. It comprises a total of 45 poems which have touched the different realms of human sentiments. The poems gave me a sense of comfort which I was hunting for in a piece of literature for so long, being book enthusiasts we all have felt that the gratification which words can provide in tough periods is hard to uncover in any person or thing. All the poems are beautifully crafted and are exceptionally relatable, the author has conveyed through her composition that we are all going through a similar state in one way or another so all we need to do is to hold on without distressing much and wait for the situation to get back to normal, and I couldn't agree more.

Some of my favourites or it will be better to say the poems that deeply touched me are 'Home sweet home, 'what to do, what not to do, 'celebrations', 'it's okay to not try', 'relentless' and 'the feeling is mutual. 'Mood-i' clearly depicts my current mood and I was stunned at how it can be so relatable. 'Slow motion, potion' sumptuously portrays the emotion 'worry' and trust me it's one of the most beautiful pieces I have read so far.

This is a sumptuous collection of poems that are lucid and vivid. The poems cover a wide range of topics, like marital relationships, everyday struggles and triumphs, and a variety of emotions that everyone experiences frequently. The poet’s command on language and technicalities is commendable. The rhymes, imagery, and other poetic devices introduced in the poems seem very natural and not forced. Overall, this is a must read for any poetry lover. My favorites from the collection are: Lost Identity, Not in So Many Words, What To Do, What Not To Do, and Strength, Not Strong. This book has made me eager to check out other works of the author!

The poems, though a quick read; have long-lasting takeaways. The writing is soulful, easily read in one go, straightforward narrative, re-readable and spontaneous.
I like the poems especially Just a call away, celebrations, Closer than they appear, Say No, and No trespassing.
They represent a slice of our life, a tiny reflection of ourselves, very relatable, short in rendition, with snappy captions.
I love the Emotion Box, which highlights what's currently on our minds.
The video rendition emphasises the poem's power.
The writer has great potential. I hope to read many more poems from her!
