He thought it was over...but the true horror has just begun.

David James Walker, aka the Deathmask Killer, is finally dead, and it’s a cause both for relief and sadness. Relief, because one of the country’s deadliest serial killers is gone, and sadness, because his final brutally murdered victim is right there in his arms: Walker’s own six-year-old daughter, Amy.

However, as Detective Alex Russo and his partner Joe soon discover, nothing is over yet.

After a terrifying murder in the morgue and the disappearance of little Amy’s body, there’s a new trail of slaughtered victims. Alex, Joe, and David Walker’s former psychiatrist Albert Martin desperately try to end the terror that started with Walker only to refuse to die with him.

But how do they stop a killer that nobody would ever suspect, and a horror that can never be contained?

An incredible gore-fest paying homage to the slasher stories of the 70’s and 80’s, darkly twisted Amy will get under your skin and show you a new nemesis unlike anything you’ve read about before.

Gosh, what a horrorfest. David Walker, a fearsome serial killer, gets shot while being arrested. He just killed his wife and daughter. But soon police investigators find out the hard way that Amy, his daughter, is alive. She's a real killer on the loose. Is it possible to prevent her killing spree? Detective Alex Russo tries his best just to stay alive... This page turning horror novel had me on the edge of the seat. Friday 13th meets modern times. What a grim tale! The author gives you a rollercoaster ride full of horror and creepy moments. What a thrilling novel with well built characters and a forward driven plot. Can't wait to read the follow-up. Highly recommended! This is some weird but exciting stuff!

How many people can a six year old girl kill? Oh...at least 20. How many times can a six year old girl be killed? Who knows?

This was one crazy blood bath after another. All at the hands of Amy. She becomes 1000% evil and unrestrained murderous after her serial killer father kills her.

The characters in Amy are all well done. There are several characters who I grew to really like. Oddly enough I had no connection, negatively of course, with Amy. She became so inhuman as the book progressed that I viewed her more as a machine, a killing machine.

I received a free copy of Amy through Bookfunnel, and I am voluntarily leaving my opinions of this novel. Thank you to the author and publisher and for this opportunity.

There are five books in this series and I am not sure that I will read any of the other books. Yet, I am curious about how Amy is finally stopped.

Repetitive with a lot of unnecessary fluff which made the book seem far longer than it actually was and drowned the sometimes really creative kill scenes. The mythos behind Amy was kind of farfetched which is easy to forgive when the storytelling is fun and engaging but with the aforementioned issues it was eyeroll inducing.

A fun and creepy slasher novel that almost feels like a John Carpenter's Halloween homage. Suspend your disbelief and enjoy a crazy ride with the creepiest kid since Gage Creed.

Decent horror book but had a lot of repetitive lines describing amy so that could have cut down a few pages.

I thought I would really enjoy this book after reading the synopsis but instead I found I had to force myself just to finish it.

The premise is interesting but I found the writing style to be quite simplistic and dull. There's also a lot of characters and most of them are there just to be victims for gruesome murder scenes, so I didn't end up caring what happened to any of them.

Some of the kill scenes were creative and had the best writing of the book, but ultimately it wasn't enough for me to enjoy reading this.

Also there were some weird grammar issues that I noticed while reading.

A renowned child killer, David Walker, escapes to finish what he started, ending his reign of terror with the murder of his wife and six-year-old daughter. Except, something's wrong with Amy and now the city's about to learn how corrupted innocence can be.

All right, before those who enjoyed this jump me for my low star rating, I'm just gonna point up to how solid of a concept that summary is. I mean, creepy child, serial killer legacy, a city fearing horrendous murder, oh, it has the potential to be fantastic.

And I still think the potential's there, it just has a lot to work on. The first big one is editing. This story had so much that needed polishing, especially in the second half, it was this side of impossible to focus on the story. There were misspelled words, redundancies, and inconsistencies, it needed some TLC. Epilogues are the closing of books, and prologues are the opening, not the other way around.

Also, this paid a great deal of homage to the 80s slasher genre, but to the point of feeling like I'd read/watched it before. The therapist arch overall felt like Michael Myers. This book felt like Michael Myers, if he got frozen at the age of his sister's death and the endless barrage of supernatural evil just kept marching onward.

And in order to move the story forward, there were multiple characters who had to carry the idiot ball. For example, these cops had shotguns and were blasting holes in a target not moving... focus the shots in the joints. Doesn't matter if the target doesn't die, if the joints are damaged beyond use or to the point where limbs are blown off, they're not going to be much of a threat.

There were some creative, horrifically fun deaths and it was an interesting dip into what caused Amy, but there was so much that needed polishing that it was a miss for me.

There are serial killers who are known to the police and then there are those who evade capture and so when David James Walker, aka the Deathmask Killer, escapes from where he has been held it starts a chain of events that will shatter a community and many, many lives. Having killed his daughter just before his death, David James Walker has managed to leave behind something truly terrifying, Amy.

This is a horror book which sees the daughter who has been killed by her father in a somewhat zombified state and intent on nothing more than killing. The premise sounded like something can truly deliver a horror book which would be amazing but as I worked my way through this book the biggest fear I found was that I would keep coming across more editing issues and unfortunately that proved to be the case. This was a free book which is introduce you to the series but I feel that getting the introduction right is something that is hugely important and so a full re-edit of this would make for a much better introduction to the characters and premise.

A perfect homage to classic slasher films! RW Duder delivers a riveting tale - part horror, part police procedural, part supernatural thriller - of six-year-old Amy Walker, daughter of a ruthless serial killer who is, herself, transformed into an unstoppable monster. The monster in Amy awakens in a police morgue, and we're treated to non-stop action as this little psychopath, in her own demented way, has to escape, get new clothes, and generally have her twisted version of fun.

Layered on top of that - written in a then/now format - we get the backstory of her father, Ted Bundy-esque killer David James Walker. A true psychopath in the psychological sense, we see the truly dark side of David in a series of interviews with his court-mandated psychiatrist. This is not just a body-stacker, there's a full story going on here.

Can't wait for Book 2!

You know those horror movies that you’re like, “stop making sequels and let the dead stay dead?!” That’s how I felt about this book. And that not even considering there are still more Amy books after this (that I have no interest in reading). It took me over three weeks to power through this story about a Michael Myers meets Chucky child named Amy who has super human strength, an uncanny luck to find a weapon at every crime scene she creates, and no true story plot beyond “kill everything and be unkillable.” That’s not even Including the typos and lack of proper punctuation.

I had been looking forward to reading this book for some time now. It checked off all the boxes for me in a horror novel. What I loved about the story was it was not only an extreme horror slasher plot, but also a police procedural which I enjoyed very much. Sure... the slasher was a child... but to me it was refreshingly different. Honestly, it astounds me how authors can come up with so many unique ways to unalive a fictional character! Definitely made for an entertaining read! As this is the first book in a series of six books I am eager to continue reading about Amy's story!

Amy's father was a serial killer of young kids, always searching for something else to feel complete. He kills his young daughter, Amy, but she does not stay dead for long.

This was a fun, brutal book of a 6 year old dead girl killing (bludgeoning, massacring) people around her, while cops try to stop her. I really enjoyed it although it did make me cringe at times. Can't wait to read the sequels.

⭐⭐⭐ 3.5

Amy is a psychological thriller that dives deep into the murky waters of human connections. The plot centers on Amy, a fascinating and multi-layered character, while tackling themes like obsession, manipulation, and the fine line between what's real and what's imagined. This novel is a captivating and eerie ride that leaves readers constantly on edge, pondering the real essence of Amy and her surroundings.

This book is in need of an editor. There are some decent parts and a lot of creative violence, but some extensive overwriting and a bloated last third make this book a rough read. I don't regret reading Amy, but I think it will be a bit before I try another book in the series. Never say never, though.

This book is FRIGGIN AWESOME!
Mind bending storyline with extremely well written characters.
I did get kinda pissed about how the lead character took so long to get on board with what was happening, but I guess it's understandable.
I'm on my way to see if there's a follow up!;)
I definitely recommend this book.

I don't normally give 5 stars, but on this one I would have given more if I could have. I can't wait for the second book! I couldn't put it down once I started reading. A real winner.

Horrifying ...

Slasher/undead ... unstoppable? Well, there are sequels ... so you gotta figure.
Reminiscent of the Japanese movie series "Tomie".
Very graphic.
Not my genre, usually, but very well written all the same.

It's ok

Not sure whay I was expecting, so I can't say I was disappointed. I had a hard time committing, but I didn't quit. Will try book 2, but that doesn't ensure book 3. Maybe it'll become more interesting. Maybe.

Supernatural slasher

Part Terminator, Part otherworldly tale. Amy is like Chucky on steroids but took me a while to figure out the who and why was behind it.

What a mess! I can't believe there are 5 of these books.
Repetitive.
Completely unbelievable in the worst way possible.
Badly needed a competent editor and proofreader.
