Rate this book
This great little book is the consequence of a desire and a achieving a story capable of immersing us in the history of archery and its many and very different uses over the centuries, influencing traditions and religions since pre-history, where this journey begins, up to the present moment.

Starting from that pre-history, in which the use of the bow and arrow could make the difference between living or dying, we will travel back in time to make an exciting journey that will take us from the Ancient Age to the Modern Age, ending the tour in the Contemporary era and, why not, speculating on the future of this exciting activity that, after being relegated to oblivion by firearms, reached the rank of Olympic sport at the 1900 Paris games and was consolidated as such in Munich in 1972.

Easy read. I started archery 2 months ago, and was intrigued to read about its history. Loved the book. The only reason I cut one star off my review is that, I believe the actual compound bow as we know exists now was first made in 1966, and the book references multiple time that in ancient times they used compound bow, but i believe the writer meant composite which makes sense and means the bow was made of more than just one material.
I also found the chapters about different types of archery a bit boring (more of a personal opinion), and was surprised that the horseback archery was not meantioned as one of the current types :)
Overall. enjoyed reading it :)
