This short story is just a prequel to the author's book series. Many characters are introduced, but we get the idea that the two most tortured ones will get together. The cliffhanger was not much fun since there was no warning that this was not a complete book.
The writing was somewhat disjointed, and too many things were going on at once. Then we skip a year, and it is not much better.

This is a great beginning to this series. Romance with a not so happy ending and suspense. And a great introduction to the man and woman who both have dark histories. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Mysterious.
Two main characters that have yet to meet each other, Interesting. Cliffhanger for sure. Looking forward to the next story/ book.
