How many blows can Mac Ridlen and his family take before they lose their faith?
Former prison chaplain Mac Ridlen, his family, and their extended community continue the struggle to survive an EMP attack that affected the entire country. With rumors of an invasion on the West Coast and Florida trickling into their East Central Indiana community, they now live in a shattered country and life will never return to the way it was.
Every member of Mac’s family is affected when tragedy strikes, and Mac is stretched to his breaking point. He and Elisabeth question what it means to have faith when everything around them is falling apart. Will they experience a needed miracle, or will Mac’s mistake cost the life of someone he loves?
Mac’s son, Jon, is struggling to leave the past behind and move on with his life when a new challenge presents itself. Will Jon risk everything to rescue someone who the group thought was dead? Can he forgive himself and overcome the devastating loss he suffered years earlier?
Follow the Ridlen family and their friends as they battle to survive the Post-apocalyptic world, in the action-packed saga of INDIANA FALL book three!
The Indiana fall series focused to much on miracles and religion. While not the main issue it was over done. Also all three books never mentioned the invasions. All of the other authors had the same issue information that the Chinese, North Koreans, Cuba and yes the Russians were responsible for millions of Americans dying. But again this Author focuses only on Americans killing each other. If you want an honest opinion this is it. Why he chose to over look the responsible countries baffles me. I have no problems with his faith but again there was a theme to the fall series and he mixed the boat. I won't be reading another of this fall series.
This Indiana series started out OK, but has kind of gone downhill. I am not a fan of much religious focus and this book 3 took it over the top. They were praying all of the time and, of course, there were some "miracles" as a result. Less time praying and more time doing, f0lks. They foolishly keep going to problem areas, get warned and then wonder why it does not work out well. The ultimate foolish quest was going to the large city of Indianapolis to try to find someone who might be there and just might be alive. This ends with basically a "dear John" speech and then some minor characters early in the book trying to figure out what to do. I guess this was the last Indiana book (?) and if so it has a very weak ending.
I really like this series but the Indiana books are more detailed than what I like. I like the information but I really dont need the everyday details down to where they relieve themselves. I find myself Thskimming over quite a lot of the book. The characters are good except I'm not sure about Jon and his "feelings" or lack thereof. Maybe I'm missing something but he really isn't a nice person to anyone.
The story of the Ridlen family continues as the events of the EMP disaster shakes their faith. The story presents a stark struggle for those who choose to hold together a community of the faithful in spite of the evil and chaotic forces that surround them. Will their faith and values stand the test?
I really enjoyed book #3 ! Can't wait for #4! I love that the books show the faith side of the Ridlen family. I am glad that there isn't any vulgar language. It can get a bit graphic in some of the details of war, but the truth needed to be acknowledged for the reality. Death can be very gruesome and violent in war.
Loved this story and the characters who prevailed through many difficulties. I liked how they found their faith and made it part of the story. Even with the troubles they encountered they preserved and found a way to live with love in their hearts!
That was a great read. I enjoyed the storyline for the most part. There were a few things I was hoping for a different outcome but overall a great story. A definite recommend.
