Full of Emotions that will consume you as this dark and suspenseful story unfolds. Get ready to see the real William Anderson this time around.
This is can be read as a standalone with interconnected characters from the previous "Fractured Series" where you first meet William. I highly recommend reading that series to get a better understanding of these characters that will also be in this duet.
This time around we get to see the inner workings of William Anderson, and how he found the one woman to finally see beneath all of the bravado and the darkness he tries to hide that lurks within just beneath the surface.
You will see his anguish over losing the love of his life to her own tragic past that has come back for her once again. He wants to protect her from the villain of her past only to have her running away to save his life and with no trace of being found. You will watch the lengths he goes to bring her back and to finally show her that she is the only woman he will ever want for the rest of his life.
This story is darker and edgier than the Fractured series, with a few triggers so make sure you check the trigger warnings before diving into this one. You will get past childhood traumas ie physical and emotional abuse described throughout the book.
Get ready for some vengeance and a heart pounding cliffhanger that will have you screaming for more. This book is one that brings out an array of emotions while reading it. You will be laughing, crying, and cursing a few names as you read. Be ready to lose track of time and/or sleep with this first book. Because William is not just that hot jerk from before but a highly complex character that has so many facets to his personality. You see the vulnerable side that feels unlovable, the dark and sexy side, the brute who uses his wealth and intimidation to get what he wants, and the loving and caring man who won't stop to keep his woman forever this time around.
You will also meet Everleigh, the one woman to bring William to his knees and give him the unconditional love he has never had. She's got her own traumatic past that is still haunting her and now threatening the one person she loves. You see the lengths she goes to protect the one man to love her and all her demons that plague her. This woman is very much a match to William with her own darkness lurking beneath and she isn't afraid to get down and dirty herself. There will be some intense and steamy moments when these two are together so make sure you have something to keep hydrated lol. This story is unlike the previous ones and will have you screaming for more of this chaotic madness these two find themselves in.
So if you like a dark romance with a side of vengeance then make sure you grab this highly emotional intense love story. Will these two be able to finally be free of their pasts or will one tragic mistep bring their love to an end?? Get ready to scream for more because book two in this duet will be out just a few weeks after this one. So don't hesitate to start this one as soon as it comes out because there won't be much of a wait to get the next one. And you most certainly will want the next book asap with this nailbiter of an epic cliffhanger.
I had the pleasure of alpha reading this book and it was one book that intrigued me the farther I got into each of these characters mindsets. I just fell in love with this dark and twisted love story of two people who finally find their person to accept them for who they truly are inside/out, only to have their love threaten. The author has brought an amazing world building in this book with complex and relatable characters that have you wanting more of their story. All I can say is this book will leave you with a book hangover but you won't have to wait long to get you next fix though. Make sure you are following this author because she brings a ton of angst, spice, intensity, and suspense with each of these stories. It's a definite must read for any dark/suspense romance reader!

This book is a spin of of the Fractured Series, while it can be read without reading that series I highly recommend reading that three book series first.
Just as blone away by thjs book as I was with the Fractured Series and the amazing writing of the author, Jennifer has done it again with Will and Everleigh's book.
The book will start out at present day and take you back to the day Will and Everleigh first met, to fully understand the depths and connection they have from their first meeting, through their relationship, to the day Everleigh disappeared and back again to present day.
It is just amazingly written and you feel the depth of each character, their emotions and how hard it has been to be with out their sole mates. You will want to jump up in cheer when they come back together. But is Will able to forgive Everleigh for running, and the serch he has been on for the last few years? As well as Everleigh still has the same problem of her step mother hunting her down to kill her. Add in the fact that she promised to stay away from Will as long as her step mother promised to leave him alone and not hurt him. So just because she found him doesn't mean that they can safly be together? So can they be together?
There is so many twists and turns and with a dramatic cliffhanger you are anxiously awaiting what will happen in the next book.
I highly recommend this book you absolutely will not be disappointed.

When I read the fractured series by Jennifer Rose, I did NOT like William in the first book and for the first part of the second. However, he grew on me. He is someone who's not a hero but he's a villian either. William is very mulit layered. He's survived a traumatic past that changed him. He puts up a guard, but one woman he met on a road with her car turned upside down changes him. He sees her brokenness too. But he also sees her strength. She's dark like him. Together they are hot. However, Everleigh's past catches up to her and makes her run from Will to save his life. She doesn't want to. Shes heartbroken without him.
I dont want to give too much away. This book is darker than the fractured trilogy. While it's not pitch dark, it does have some trigger warnings to be aware of. Such as murder, child abuse, domestic abuse. It also does end on a shocking cliff hanger. However, Jennifer is great about not making you wait too long for the next book. So I fully recommend this.

When we first met the character of William in The Fractured series, I didn't think I could be persuaded to like his character by the end of the book. He was such a ruthless villain throughout most of that series. The author redeemed him in the end and we understand him and his motives a bit better. For this series, I wasn't sure if I would like him enough still to learn his backstory and see him find his true love. Well the descriptive writing of Jennifer Rose has made me once again feel so much for these characters that William has indeed been redeemed. This story of him and his missing true love is so exciting and keeps you on the edge of your seat! Luckily, book 2 in this series will be released soon after so we won't have to wait too long to see what happens next! It isn't necessary to read The Fractured series before beginning this one, but you will probably wish you had so that you know William's complete and complex story.

I was given this book as an ARC from the author - this is a spin-off fromThe Fractured Series. You will need to read those 3 books first - which I highly recommend - to understand parts of this story.

Wow!!! This was an absolutely AMAZING read!! The suspense in this book will make you not want to put it down! (It took me a week to read but I also have 3 kids and not a ton of time to read otherwise I would have finished it in a day because it’s that good!)
One thing that I absolutely loves is that she has continued to include Max, Irelynn, Darin and Vanessa in this story too - it just adds even more to it because they all tie together and it’s fun having characters from a prior book dropped into another - I’ve never had that before in any series I’ve read so that was awesome for me because we already knew and had a “bond” with those characters.
Being able to read about Max and learning more about him is fantastic! He absolutely has a dark side to him but the other sides that we get to see from him are wonderful. He is a hidden gem. And I absolutely love Everleigh! She’s strong, fierce and independent. She wants William but she doesn’t need him to survive.
The story ended on an epic cliffhanger and I wish I had the next book to find out what happens now! I am hoping that we get to know Everleigh even more in the second book, which I suspect we will!
Great job Jennifer! This is going to be a fantastic series!!

There was so much raw emotion throughout this entire book. This is for sure a “don’t judge a book by its cover” type of read. You never know what someone else is going through and what they’ve been through in their life. Everyone has demons they are fighting off and trying to find their own light. Will and Everleigh are soul mates in so many ways. From what happened to them in their pasts and what still follows them. Bringing two people with darkness in them, but knowing they can be each other’s light melted my heart. Knowing Will he always be a hero for Everleigh, but is neither a hero or villain. This was such a page turner and had be guessing and still not being able to figure out what was going to happen next. The way this ended is making me wish book 2 was already out.

Williams feels all emotions so deeply - especially his love and anger is fierce. I love the dynamic and development of his character the most. His story runs so deep and your initial view of William I promise will not be your final. And goodness I just swoon over Everleigh too! She’s just as broken and is his perfect match. Her strong character is perfect to complete William, accepting all of his demons.
This story is full of vengeance, darkness, spice, and love … dive in and buckle up because this is a suspenseful thriller that has it all. Definitely a page turner…

I received this book as an ARC.
I wasn't aware it was a spin off series.
However because of the flash backs and the fact it's different main characters I still was able to enjoy Will and Everleighs story
The story was great to follow and I was happy to see them reunite if only for a night until that cliffhanger!!!!

This story is a standalone but would be best to read the Fractured series to get a back story to the characters.
This story is about Will and Everleigh, we see how they met and their love story and also the villain who has been tearing the couple apart.
The story is told from both William and Everleigh in duo POV about them being apart and finally finding each other again. At first I couldn't stand William he just rubbed me the wrong way but seeing how he loves Everleigh and will do anything to fond her and get her back he starts to grow.
Just as these 2 come back together and you think they have a chance the author rips your heart out and bam cliffhanger, I am anxiously waiting for the next part where hopefully there is a HEA!

Jennifer rose gets better with each book she writes. If you like a edge of your seat kind of book she is the author for you!!!! I would give a million stars if I could. One of all time favorite authors.

Oh boy....I knew it was going to take a lot for William to redeem himself, and there were times I felt like it was an impossible task, but, I've gotta say, he is well on his way to total redemption!
Jennifer Rose is such an amazing storyteller. I honestly couldn't read this book quickly enough. I knew I was going to love William's story, but the plot itself was so captivating, I was immersed from beginning to end! I also loved the flashbacks to William and Everleigh's love story. I can't wait for the conclusion to this amazing story, but in the meantime, this one is highly recommended!

In Jennifer's first trilogy William was the villain but he was also a victim of a troubling past. Now in this new book we find out just how troubling his past was and how much he has changed!
I loved this book and loved that it is a new series that expands on the previous trilogy. It was such a good and definetely deep read! Finding out more about William and Everleighs past brought so much light to why William is the way he is.

This dark romance with a side of vengeance made a great start to Jennifer's new duet series. With multiple POV, we get both sides of the story, as well as flashbacks to the past to give more depth, as we follow William and his journey to get Everleigh back and to keep her safe. After he finds her, spicy steam ensues! This series can be read as a standalone, but should be read after the Fractured series to have more understanding of past events that make up this story's background. Beautiful writing, dark romance, and some steam make this a definitely enjoyable read! It ends on a cliffhanger and I cannot wait for the next!

Will is wildly ruthless and I like it. He has a sinister aura. Jennifer knows how to make a layered character. I'm addicted to the action and the drama. This is exactly what I crave. Very twisted and enamoring read.

This was a good book. The characters are flawed but together they make sense. There are some tiggers in this book but the author warns you ahead of time so your aware of them. I recommend this book.

Holy fucking shit!!! i know i keep on saying i love the book im currently reading by you the most by Jennifer this truly was my favorite so far and cannot wait for how much im about to love the second one. The raw, real, and fright you gave us here really sets the tone of what a dark past not only William has gone through but Everleigh as well. You really showed us how they really are perfect for each they are despite how fucked up they are hahah.

Will has gone through a great loss. After losing his soulmate Everleigh in the blink of an eye, Will begins to spiral. The loss of Everleigh and the weight of the misconception of his past had sent him into near insanity. Determined to change his future, he continues his tireless search for Everleigh. Even though he has searched for years, he refuses to give up… but what Will doesn’t know is that Everleigh has the same mindset. Enjoyed the start to a new series/ duet from Jennifer Rose. This is closely linked to the fractured series so you’ll need to read that first to better understand this book. In true Jennifer fashion, she will make you ‘feel’ the characters anguish, joy and love. William is a complex character, his past has certainly done a number on him. Everleigh our female protagonists is a sassy and feisty character who also has some childhood trauma to deal with. Together they bring calm to each other’s chaos. What a great follow up from the Fractured Series!
William is redeemed and is now Will. And he’s searching for his love. Everleigh is his perfect match!
I sat on tender hooks waiting to see what would happen and how their story would unfold.
Not to mention that cliffhanger! And definitely heed the TWs if you are sensitive to certain topics. I’m a big fan of dark romance, so Ms. Rose’s books are the perfect trope for me. But be forewarned before you indulge!

I absolutely loved this book!!! In Jennifer’s first trilogy, William was the villain. Now he gets his own story and we finally get to see the softer side of him. This is what I’ve been waiting for and I loved it!!! Jennifer Rose is a great author and a wonderful storyteller. I fell absolutely in love with her books from her first trilogy and have been hooked ever since. I can’t wait to see what happens next!!
