May 27, 2023Note to self: he cheated on her. She walked in on them, naked woman on top of him, kissing, she was stroking his dick and he was sucking her nipples. He didn’t sleep with her, but he took the OW home with the intention to have sex just because he could. There is a lot of remorse on his side and he has a lot to grovel for, but cheating is a no go for me. He was celibate during separation and she wasn’t 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Unfortunately that trope backfired, because she threw up when she heard he didn’t sleep with the OW. She only slept with OM as revenge and didn’t actually want to do it and he wasn’t that good. At least own this trope and let her NOT regret it and make it one of the best sex of her life, all because the H couldn’t keep it in his pants. That would’ve made him suffer even more 😤

DNF. I'm sorry but cheating is a big no for me and it felt like it was "okay because he didn't actually sleep with her, he just kissed her, took her top off, let her touch his dick, touched his breasts". Nope, he cheated.

DNF @ 31% because he cheated on her and I hate cheating. It doesn’t matter that they didn’t have s*x. He took another women home and let her touch him. He would’ve continued if he hadn’t received the text from the FMC🤮🤮🤮

2.5 stars. I knew this was a cheating book going in. So, my star rating isn’t me being like, “I can’t believe the hero did that!” Sometimes I'm in the mood for the angst, and to see if the author can pull off making me feel like these characters should end up together. So, did the author pull it off? Sort of. I’m not mad that they ended up together...I’m just bored.
Romeo is a famous actor, Gabriella is a photographer. They were together for 7 months, but never official, and never in public (so that the tabloids wouldn’t know). One night, he took an OW home. Gabriella saw, and left him. This starts 8 months later, when he goes to grovel and win her back.
Why does this start 8 months after their breakup? It REALLY feels like a story that started in the wrong place. We get short italicized flashback to a few scenes of their relationship – like their first meeting. And, we get both of their POVs of the night Gabriella saw him cheat (which was actually nice, to get instant self-hatred and regret from Romeo’s POV. This does deliver decent “hero suffers” angst).
BUT, the majority of this story takes place 8 months after their breakup, and skips over showing us the first round of their relationship. That makes it hard to feel invested. We’re told that they have a connection, but barely shown it. Why do they even like each other? All we know is that Romeo likes that Gabriella didn’t complain about his motorcycle helmet messing up her hair on their first date. After he cheats, he likes that she didn’t broadcast it on social media. He thinks that makes her classy, and Not Like Other Girls. That makes him realize that he loves her, too late, after he fucks it up.
So, to sum it up, the main reason he likes her is… she doesn’t inconvenience him too much, and she’s compliant. Truly, the makings of a grand romance!!!
(Also, if Gabriella had reacted to his cheating by calling him out publicly, that would be valid!! So, that felt a bit gross, that the book frames it like Gabriella is so virtuous for staying quiet.)
Romeo is surprisingly okay. If you’re going to read a hero who is a cheater, he does all the right things. There’s never a good reason, but this one worked for the story (peer pressure from stupid friends that he later cut out of his life). It felt plausible, not too elaborate, no emotions were involved, and it was a one-time thing. (He also stopped before it was full on sex). He’s celibate during their 8 months apart, sees a therapist, works on himself, gives her space, and he takes responsibility for his actions. He even tells his family, so his parents scorn him for what he did. He behaves in as good a way as possible, after doing something like this. His grovel isn't the best I've ever read, but it's fine.
Gabriella is bland. She’s not a total doormat, since she does turn him away when he shows up to pursue her, at first. But she’s doormat- adjacent. After she agrees to give him another chance, she begs HIM to spend the night, and he’s the one saying they should go slow. Have more pride, girl! After she finds out that Romeo didn't have full on sex with the OW, Gabriella also feels bad for sleeping with another guy after their breakup, and starts to blame herself. Romeo has to assure her that she did nothing wrong, and he DID cheat and deserve that. Why was HE the one saying all the right stuff??! I actually ended up liking Romeo, a cheater hero, better than his heroine!
The pacing is weird. This book has a decent amount of angst and tension in the first half. Then, as soon as they get back together about halfway through, the story loses all momentum. It doesn’t even have a climax, it just aimlessly limps along before trickling to an end.
As far as angsty cheating / grovel books go, this isn’t the worst one– it’s not as awful as Broken Play. I DID leave this book feeling like Romeo would never do it again, and will be a reasonably decent partner. So, if you’re in the mood for that, it might hit the spot. But, I would still say The Princess and the Prospect and The Wolf and the Sheep trilogy are better, if you want that trope.

I counted this as a DNF because I could tell fairly early on it just wasn’t going to work for me, so I started skimming HARD to see how it ended. I’m going to keep this quick, but will spoiler tag the rest.

Bottom line: If you like cheating/redemption tropes or it doesn't bother you, Made for Romeo is a cute and sweet story with a hero that does some true soul searching while doing the real work to make up for his past and be worthy of the girl he wants back. If you don't like/hate it, this is not the book for you.
Ugh. This one's going to be a hard one, even for the most die-hard Natasha Madison fans. Romeo and Gabriella had an undefined, but understood "thing" 8 months ago, but when she literally catches him cheating, he breaks her heart. Eight months later, after working on himself, Romeo is forcing his way back into her life and wants to win her back over. He's persistent, you'll have to give him that. I don't think it would have bothered me as much, but we got a very detailed description of what that cheating looked like and it made you feel it in your bones. If this was "real life", I'm sure that giving the growth he made as a person as well as his spectacular grovel would win a second chance. But this is Romancelandia, where (most) readers have a hard time with stuff like that and where his second chance is less acceptable. 🤷🏻♀️

I love Natasha Madison’s books, but it’s hard to get on board with this one. Romeo 1000% cheated!! He was in a long term relationship with Gabriella (even though they never put a label on it— one should assume faithfulness). Anyway- Gabriella is out of town and he brings a woman home for the sole purpose to have sex with her. She was naked and on top of him and they were practically having sex already (doing everything else). The only reason he stopped is because Gabriella texted him (after she saw them unbeknownst to him). Or else he would have totally gone through with it.
Poor Gabriella comes home early because he was telling her how much he missed her and she walks in on them and they don’t even notice her. I’m sorry, there’s no coming back from that. His excuse even after therapy was that he was selfish. I’m sorry— he’s more the slimy, cheating ex-boyfriend character than the hero.

In my opinion there was nowhere NEAR enough grovel in this book. Actually I wouldn’t even call any of it grovel. She decided to give him another chance in the blink of an eye. Aaahhh, just not for me.

First of all, it's not a secret that this book is Romeo trying to win back Gabriella after cheating. If that bothers you, you probably shouldn’t read it instead of giving it a bad review.
Romeo and Gabriella were together for a few months but one night he let his Hollywood friends talk him into something he knew was wrong. He knew it was wrong and did it anyway and had immediate regrets. You will probably hate Romeo for a bit but I think once he explains from his POV you will understand better. Romeo messed up but he is on a mission to get Gabriella to forgive him. I really appreciated the effort he put in. He wasn’t forceful, he gave her time but also let her know that he wasn’t going away. He made changes personally and professionally to become a person worthy of her.
Gabriella was so much fun. She didn’t make it easy for Romeo while also not being completely miserable to him. Once she found it in her to forgive him, the spice between them was HOT HOT HOT. Gabriella is a woman who is not afraid to say what she wants sexually. Her sex drive was off the charts and I was here for it! (And so was Romeo!)
Gabriella and Romeo had something special until it was all ruined. Trust was broken, hearts were crushed. Romeo gets his second chance but will they be able to rebuild everything to get their HEA?

I’m a big fan of Natasha Madison’s hockey series so was really looking forward to this one. Like all her hockey books, it’s a great read and always good to see the Stone/ Horton/ Grant family- I loved their appearances.
Unfortunately for me I was not a fan of Romeo at all, and found it hard to root for him at any point in the book. I hated what he’d done to lose Gabriella in the first place, and felt she deserved better than him. He wasn’t good enough for her, but he made her happy. For me, he didn’t fit the usual mould of her hockey heroes and I missed that. I won’t say much more because I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but do check the content warnings for this one.

What I liked: I liked how Romeo(H) went to see a therapist and wanted to be the man that Gabriella(h) deserved.
What I didn’t like: I hated the reason why he brought the ow back to his place.I wanted a scene with him telling his friends how shitty they are. I also wanted a scene with Gabriella confronting Romeo’s “so called” friends.
***Major Spoilers/ Details/Triggers: This starts with the H showing up at the h’s door having been 8 months since he saw her. In the past H meets h and they start a sexual relationship. H is a movie star and they kept their relationship on a down low. For seven months things were going good until one night h decides to surprise the H at his place and see him with ow on his couch with ow’s hands on his penis (H says at this point he starts to realize that he shouldn’t be doing this). h silently leaves, leaving the cookies she baked. h sends him a text. As soon as the H sees the text, he pushes ow off and tells her to leave. When he see the cookies he knows the h was there and saw him with ow. When he calls, h tells him she saw him and tells him it’s fine and to take care. They haven’t had any contact with each other for 8 months. In the present H wants another chance. h tells him no but H doesn’t give up. They decide to talk and H tells the h that the reason he brought the ow home with him was because his friends. They said he was going soft and boring and when ow walked in the bar they made a bet that H couldn’t leave with the her. H knowing he messed up and realizing that he was in love with the h decides to go to therapy and to ditch his so called friends. H tells the h everything and they decide to try again. H takes h out and they are spotted and their pictures is all over social media. h at first flips out but realizes she wants the relationship. They basically work things out, H decides to not be an actor but to work behind the scenes, and tells his parents he is moving to Dallas to be with the h. H and h’s family meet and they get their HEA.

I was actually scared this was going to be the first book by Natasha that I DNF. For the first 1/3 of the book I was disgusted by Romeo Beckett, but because I trust this author I kept reading hoping for this guy to be redeemed and boy am I glad I kept reading.
Romeo comes off as an entitled and spoiled Hollywood player when he shows up at Gabriella’s door and won’t take no for an answer - she’s beyond broken over his past actions. Little by little we see how broken he is over his mistake and how he has come to realize how much he loves her.
I’m still not ok with what went down in LA to break Gabriella’s heart, but I loved watching Romeo work so hard to reclaim her heart. The family scenes were as epic as ever with some bonus fun with Romeo’s family dynamics thrown in to spice things up. His sister Ryleigh is going to be fun to read about when her book comes out.

The family scenes were as epic as ever with some bonus fun with Romeo’s family dynamics thrown in to spice things up. His sister Ryleigh is going to be fun to read about when her book comes out.

Better!
This isn’t a typical cheating romance that leads to a second chance.
I’m also glad that this lead and had therapy in it as a solution.
I wish there was a little bit more trauma, but again, I kind of feel that this is typical cheating because there were no labels.
Yet he did take accountability of his actions that led to them having a huge break.

The latest instalment in Natasha Madison’s hockey dynasty, this is the story of Gabriella Stone (daughter of Justin), and in a fantastic crossover, Romeo is the son of Tyler and Jessica from Hollywood Playboy (book #1 of the Hollywood Royalty series). Their story is an emotional and swoony second-chance-romance that was a surprising read, and that had me fully invested from start to finish.
Gabriella and Romeo met in LA. She was there working as a photographer, and he was an actor on the cusp of stardom. They shared an instant spark, and were in an undefined relationship for almost a year before Romeo broke Gabrielle’s heart, and she ran back home to Dallas. It’s now eight months later, and Romeo has just finished work on the film that will launch his career, but all he can think about is finding the girl he lost and winning her back at any cost.
Gabriella is a strong, independent woman, and she’s made a good life for herself in Dallas, where the majority of her siblings are based, and she gets the shock of her life when Romeo rocks up on her doorstep. The man betrayed her and left her devastated, and she still hasn’t fully recovered from it, and she wants absolutely nothing to do with him.
We don’t know what tore these two apart, but we know it was a big deal. The details are revealed as the story progresses, and it was a big ‘wow’ for me. Romeo is probably one of Natasha’s most divisive heroes, but I applaud her for giving us a flawed hero. It makes him real, and as angry as I was, I couldn’t help but feel for him, as his pain and regret is so beautifully written.
He screwed up badly. He owns it, he apologises sincerely, he has put in work to better himself, and he is determined to make it right and prove himself to his girl. He holds nothing back from Gabriella, laying his heart on the line and making all kinds of effort, and wow, that man can grovel!
I couldn’t help but be impressed by his commitment to the cause, and being the romantic sap that I am, I forgave him and got swept up in the swoon of it all, enjoying watching him fight so hard for his girl. At the same time, I was right there with Gabriella as she battled her feelings, trying to figure out if she could trust him, and trust her heart to him again. There are so many feels, and their beautifully sweet, emotional, and steamy romance is full of intensity from start to finish.
I’m sure this book will spark a divide amongst readers. Am I ok with what Romeo did? Absolutely no. But, how he handled it, his reflection of his behaviour, and his growth as a result of his actions is really well written. I loved how he involved his family in his journey, how he owned everything, and then worked so hard to be better and to prove himself to Gabriella. People make mistakes, and while his was a bad one, he is not irredeemable, and I love that we got to explore this particular storyline and watch them find their way through it.
As always, the extended family are involved, which is always fun, and I loved catching up with Romeo’s family as they are brought into the fold. Gabriella and Romeo have a lot to figure out – both individually and together, and I loved watching them work it out and move forward to get their happy ending.

A romance where the hero seeks to make amends for past actions and hopes to gain the heroine’s forgiveness.
As a huge fan of the author’s work, I had high expectations for this installment. Unfortunately, it did not go the way I hoped. The story maintained the humor and family banter as one expects from the author, but the romance fell flat.
From the moment of the hero and heroine’s introduction, it was clear they had history. Readers receive background information regarding their history. While this Information helped to colour my perception of the hero, it failed in getting me to buy into their relationship.
Made for Romeo picked up eight months after the couple broke up. Romeo came to Dallas hoping for a reconciliation. After what he did to Gabriella eight months ago, getting a second chance will not be easy. There was a lot of groveling on his part. It took me sometime to accept him given what he did. However, I did eventually warm to up to him as he seemed genuinely apologetic.
Gabriella is calm and not one to make waves. A trait we see played out throughout the story. Also, as it relates to her past with Romeo, the story tells readers how calmly she reacted regarding the situation which led to their breakup.
As mentioned earlier, the romance did not work for me. I didn’t feel their connection, and it lacked the authenticity that I expect from the author’s romance stories. The one thing which remained constant was the steamy moments Gabriella and Romeo shared.
Now, while I had major issues with Romeo’s role in the breakdown of their past relationship, I appreciated his growth throughout the story. Here is a man who willingly acknowledged his mistake and took responsibility for it.

Hard to read. Almost DNF a bunch of times. They were together for 7 months and never “established their relationship”? He cheats on her, ghosts her for 8 months and then she just takes him back. I don’t understand why they kept their relationship a secret for so long in the first place. Especially since he realized he was in love with her AFTER he stuck his tongue down someone else’s throat. If you have that strong of feelings for someone, you don’t just throw it all away because you can’t man up and tell your friends you have a girlfriend. Gabriella was made to be this independent go getter but then turns into a simpering mess anytime Romeo walks in the room. She easily caves and asks him to move in. There was literally zero groveling. That should have been the majority of this story, him trying to win her back by any means necessary - grand gestures, going out of his way to be anywhere and everywhere for here but there was none of that. All he had to say was “it’s always been you” and she immediately took him back. I mean come on! Some sweet words and an apology is supposed to erase him cheating on her and keeping their relationship a secret for 7 months?!
This whole book was absolutely cringeworthy for me. The whole book felt like it dragged on and on and I felt it was unnecessary and confusing to name every single family member, their spouse, AND their kids. I gave up trying to follow who was attached to who. The constant jumping back and forth between the story lines was also a wash for me. If we need a flashback every 2 seconds, then the author did not do a very good job of portraying the storyline.

As the blurb suggests, Gabriella/h leaves L.A. after having been cheated on by her bf, Romeo/H. They’d been dating for seven months when she goes to his house to surprise him after getting back early from a business trip to Canada. Instead, she’s the one who’s surprised when she catches him making out with a naked woman on his lap:
“She was buck-ass naked on top of you with her tongue down your throat and your cock in her hand.”
She didn’t confront him after witnessing that and just quietly left his house, breaking-up with him via a phone call. She then upends her life and moves to Dallas, Texas, to start over. The story actually begins when Romeo finally decides to go get his girl eight months later.
We’re told that Romeo has done a lot of growing-up and therapy during their time apart, after realizing the error of his ways. He’s even been celibate during their separation. Past events are recounted in flashbacks so we don’t see the evolution of his character; we only get to know the man he is now. Which is good, I suppose, because the author makes it easier for the reader to see past his betrayal. The funny thing is that although Romeo was the one who cheated, his character is actually better fleshed-out and more “present” than Gabriella who comes across as non-entity in her own story. Her character is one dimensional and just blah. She’s beige in FMC form.
Okay, so maybe I do have issues with Gabriella’s character, but only because she’s too much of a doormat and TSTL. She’s supposedly still devastated and traumatized after Romeo’s betrayal, yet she actually agrees to go out to dinner with him when he shows up in Dallas months later. No yelling, or recriminations, or strong emotional responses of any kind. Nope, she just sits there making nice conversation with him about the food, like a talking automaton. 🙄
The worst part is that after Gabriella finds out that Romeo didn’t actually fuck the random naked woman that fateful night, she happily forgives his betrayal and is all accepting and conciliatory because somehow ‘if they didn’t fuck’ it isn’t really cheating or some such BS. FFS, the chick was naked, grinding on Romeo’s lap while they played tonsil hockey….but it’s all fine, apparently. Gabriella is even mad at herself for having slept with an OM after they broke up to get back at Romeo for cheating. She feels guilty and actually apologizes to Romeo when they reconcile. The thing is that Gabriella was freakin SINGLE at the time! But don’t worry peeps cause the sex was really, really bad. Ofc it was because a single woman who’s recovering from a devastating betrayal isn’t allowed to ever get a good dicking or reclaim her sexuality. SMDH 🤦🏻♀️
Sorry for the rant. In short: the book isn’t a very good example of a reconciliation-after-infidelity story. The entire plot is way too underwhelming with the blandest, most annoying h that I’ve read in a very long time.

1. Did Gabriella have any backbone at all??? Why was she phoning Abigail to ask her to call her and pretend an emergency so that she could leave early from dinner with Romeo? Why the f#%k did she agree to go out to dinner with him at all after he cheated on her? And then, Abigail didn't even bother to call her and it was never mentioned again???

3. I'm in chapter 10 and the author has just introduced about 100 new characters and I have no idea who anyone is.

The dialogue's unnatural. The heroine, Gabriella, had no flaws and personality. She and Romeo speak to one another like they're in couple's therapy, or a relationship advice column.
I'm just not into a story where the heroine is portrayed as being the perfect, good one, and the hero, a slimy, good for nothing man who suddenly picks up a Feminist Ally pamphlet and magically gets back into the heroine's good graces. There's nothing exciting.
Doesn't help that the author's fond of providing incessant, unnecessary description of the heroine's outfits, house and habits.

I had a tantrum during it and wanted to throttle Romeo....but did he redeem himself, yes! :) Did he make me swoon over him after his mistake, yes! So all is forgiven.

Gabby, is the post child of a mature adult during a "break up". She could do so many things to tarnish his name, bring it in to the limelight, because who is he is, but she stands up tall, pulls her shoulders back and handles it as best as she can. She is strong and confident!
At first I was pissed about what was going down in this book, but after weeks of thinking on it and talking it through, re-reading I realized that I can come to turns with what Romeo did and I applaud him for stepping up, taking ownership and changing. As a couple, they work through this and at the end are rewarded. As always and I believe it is what Natasha does SO VERY WELL is gives us a strong family dynamic which is that of the Stone/Grant/Horton families!!!

I loved the crossover between the Hollywood series and the hockey series. It’s always fun seeing all the family generations appear in the books!
This is a second chance romance, and chapter 1 starts off at Romeo trying to get Gabriella back. So if you like grovelling it starts right away. However, once you find out what Romeo did, it’s kind of hard to root for him. In my opinion, Gabriella forgave to easily and seemed to almost put blame on herself when there shouldn’t have been. It might have been easier to understand if we got more of them together in the past.
Nonetheless, I did really like them together!! Romeo was super sweet and you could tell he was trying to focus completely on her and worked on improving himself before even coming back to her.
I loved all the parts with Romeos family! I can’t wait to see more from Ryleigh 💕

June 13, 2023I've liked other books by Natasha Madison, but I haven't been in the mood for romance, so it took me a while to get into this book. Then about 30% of the way in, I found out why Romeo was trying to win back Gabriella....he cheated on her. I try not to DNF books, especially when they're ARCs, but it was an immediate no for me. If this trope doesn't bother you, I'd suggest giving this one a try. If it does, try out another book by Natasha Madison instead

The cheating was bad and then he disappeared for eight months. She has recovered nicely with her career going well.
The book just doesn't explain enough why he cheated. The time he was away for the eight months doesn't really get explained either. I just wondered WHY now, pretty much like she did too.
What kept me invested in the story was his/her family's and how nice they were. And then again, I wondered what the heck happened eight months ago. Has he grown up that much in eight months??
So I guess I needed more from his pov during their LA relationship earlier ?? I guess??
