King Lucius shouldn’t have allowed her to live. But blinded by paranoia and arrogance, he has big plans for Áine and her coveted, ineffable power. With her life hanging in the balance, Áine finds herself making hard and fast decisions about who to trust—especially when it comes to her former trainer and fierce protector Daelon. With Daelon back at Lucius’s side as the Commander of the Guard, Áine struggles to see beyond his betrayal and to embrace the destiny they both share. Lucius’s castle is a tapestry of pleasure, power, and darkness. Underneath the façade of decadence and beauty lies a dark history obscured by magickal binds, and Áine’s mission is to expose the truth before she, too, succumbs to Lucius’s dominance. While working in the shadows to find allies, Áine falls deeper under the spell of life inside the golden, ethereal castle walls—and all the elites that call them home. And as she gets closer to understanding her purpose, she fears she isn’t the only one plotting in secret. The Coveted is the addictive, fast-paced second installment in The Lost Witches of Aradia series. Grab a copy today and fall under Áine’s spell as she guides you on a compelling journey through her multidimensional reality.

The second installment in Maggie Sunseri’s The Lost Witches of Aradia series did not disappoint! No longer under the privacy and protection of Daelon’s home in the woods, Áine has to adapt to the captivity in her new home of King Lucius’ castle. While living a life of luxury, she’s bound to keep the full extent of her power and her relationship with Daelon a secret to save herself and the future of witches alike.
My love for Daelon and Áine’s relationship still prevails. The all consuming passionate romance between them is every woman’s dream. This book brings in a few new characters that deepen the plot and a new setting that Maggie Sunseri delivers perfectly with poetic prose. Áine is still discovering the extent of her power and purpose with the help of others. Despite having to save face in front of the kingdom’s royalty and do things they wish they didn’t have to do, Áine and Daelon are in a race against time to save the old ways of their coven before Lucius destroys it all or her. This book makes you love them both even more. And the ending! Another cliff hanger that leaves you begging for more.
The magic and whimsy that Maggie Sunseri creates is divine. The perfect amount of magic, wonder, adventure and romance makes this a “can’t put down page turner.” I think this will be one of my favorite series to read this year. I cannot wait to read the third book The Illuminated!
Words? They're all gone. Emotions? I'm feeling them. All at the same time. I don't even know where to begin to describe this book or my experience with it in a way that isn't going to ruin the enjoyment of the readers to come after me. This book has intrigue and suspense, mystery and magic. It held me glued to the pages, desperately trying to find out what would happen next. When I reached the end, I wanted to scream out my frustration. The author has given me just enough answers to make me hunger for the rest of the story. I don’t know what's next on the horizon for Áine and Daelon but I NEED to know what it is, and I need to know it NOW. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
The tension was off the charts in this book. I loved seeing the characters develop and grow in power and strength. This book flew by in the best way, I would sit down to read and two hours would dissappear in what felt like minutes. So far is this one of my top series I've read this year and I'm immediately diving into book 3!
At only 22, Áine knows she's different, after her moms died to protect her, giving her a bracelet to "dull out" her gift. At her birthday party, in order to save a friend, Áine is forced to remove her bracelet and unleash her power, attracting all kinds of dangers she was previously shielded from. As she is now free to use her power, a male voice in her head begins to guide her and help her on her path. At the same time, Daelon, a male witch, appears out of nowhere, promising to be there to help her as his life purpose. Áine is led to the kingdom of Aradia, where she realizes a power-hungry political war is ongoing, making Lucius the reigning king (not exactly the rightful one). As the books evolve, it becomes obvious who the voice in Áines head belongs to, who her mothers were, who Daelon is and why everyone either sacrificed or is risking for her. As for Áine, she develops an obvious relationship with Daelon and a not so obvious, totally weird relationship with someone else. The battle for the kingdom continues, and the community of remaining witches sides either with Áine or Lucius in a rebellion.
Seven books are not necessary, the plot would fit in three at most. We get the romance, we get the smut, we get the magic universe plot building... but what we also get is so many filler chapters. Sincerely, the last three chapters of each book sum up the juice of the advancing plot for that book. Other than that, I have to praise the author for not filling the book with explicit smut in every chapter (it does have a bit in each book, but nothing shocking or exaggerated). It gets tiring and dull, and by the last two books, I almost DNF’d, but I was curious about the ending.
This World of Maggie Sunseri's Building Gets Better and Better!
There's more magic, more fighting, more strange magical elixer both inhaled and drunk that turns the 'chosen nobility' of King Lucius into mind numbing sex starved fools with absolutely no memory of the world or kingdom of the previous elders that came just a few years prior! It's as if all memory of their history, their life before living in the kingdom is forbidden and thus struck from their memories. Our heroine has to prevent falling to the depths of this magical numbing and in every small infraction of her old world Goddess filled magicks, she is punished with the King's cold, putrid power - nearly dying even. In this second edition, she finds allies - lots of them in places no one would suspect making her believe the messages learned in the first novel may have less and less to do with her being the savior of the realm and becoming one will all who still remember. Gave nothing away with this story just hinted at the intensity of what's to come in Book 2. Book 3 will be released March 22, 2022. If you are reading this prior to that time, you will be right along with us for the ride!
In the second installment of The Lost Witches of Aradia, we see many of the teasing plot points and characters from Book One develop. Stolen moments of passion, sparks of humanity in the coldest hearts, nature coming to life, sexual exploration, and forbidden community are only a few of the things to look forward to in Book 2.
The thread of magick grows thicker as Aine discovers the scope of her gifts and how to control her astral projections. The author’s rich descriptions of Aradia and its citizens create a spark of whimsy on every page. Aine’s growth from Book One to Book Two is massive. Not only is she becoming more confident in her abilities, but also in her strength as a woman. She has finally accepted the power of her presence in Aradia. Her time in the castle has changed her and yet she still holds the same witty, sarcastic charm we all love.
As with the first, I finished this book already filled with the hunger for more. This series portrays spirituality, fear, sexuality, grief, and power in a fresh way. I can’t wait to see what else develops as we move forward in the series!
The Coveted is book two in the Lost Witches of Aradia series. This book is fast paced and we are introduced to a bunch of new characters while getting some much needed backstory and insight into our current heroes and villains. What are spoiled (yet still imprisoned) witches to do with their free time? Why, get doped up and have witchy sex parties of course and Aine has a front row seat. In between convincing Lucius that there is absolutely nothing going on between her and Daelon, and trying not to get swept up by supercharged magical influences, Aine still needs to find time to gain the knowledge she needs to save to world. Thankfully, book three is only a month away, because I need to have more of this intriguing world and it’s characters. Thank you, Maggie, for the opportunity to read this arc and post my unbiased review.
Maggie keeps readers guessing as much as Áine and Daelon throughout this crazy labryth that is the history of Aradia. Lucious' insidious plans slowly start to become less hidden as we delve farther into the story. The wonderful mystery that is Lucious' kingdom gets more intriguing with each page! The end of The Coveted came all too soon. How will Áine and Daelon keep their love a secret, stay alive, and save all life no matter the dimension? Only Maggie knows! I cannot wait for the next installment of more answers and I am sure questions.
Another solid 4 stars. Thoroughly enjoying this series. And definitely underrated, I hope this gets some more recognition/following!
There's a lot more tension and a touch more darkness in this one. There is pace but I'd still say it's more of a slow burner...however, because the world is built well and everything kind of makes sense you almost don't mind? There's just enough happening at all times to keep going.
Love love love the reference to the Akashic Records ❤️
Definitely demolishing this series by the end of the week!
After reading The Discovered, I was so excited to return to Aradia in The Coveted and find out what happens next for Aine and Daelon! Does she figure out more of her magic? Is Daelon really on her side? Who can she trust? Is she going to fulfill the legacy left by her mothers? This next part of their saga was, once again, full of mystery and excitement. But I also appreciated the character development for Aine, as she works to figure out who she can trust and whether or not her feelings for Daelon are getting in the way of that. Her mental/emotional struggle is very realistic, and as the reader, I feel like I'm feeling what Aine is feeling as she's trying to figure out life at court under Lucius's rule. My only complaint? It wasn't enough! It ends on a massive cliffhanger, leaving you begging to know what happens to Aine and if she finds the answers she needs. Keep 'em coming, Maggie!
This is book 2 in the series. It is even better than book 1! Aine and Daelon are in a struggle against time to save the realm. Lucius is up to something but what exactly remains to be seen. Whatever it is won't bode well for Aine. This is a great cast of characters. There is lots of page turning action, with just the right amount of romance tossed in. I can't wait for book 3 to what is next!
Redemption! This follow up totally leveled up the series. Where the first book felt a bit slow, this one hits the gas with way more pace, deeper character growth, and a solid dose of intrigue and spice. It still holds onto that signature mystery - but now it’s got a more enchanting, magickal twist that keeps you turning pages. A strong follow-up that pulls you deeper into the world in all the right ways!
This book was amazing. The world building just gets better and better. Visiting the other castle was exciting! Meeting the Lords and Ladies of Aradia was a thrilling experience. Lucius is a fun character to encounter. It’s so easy to feel completely immersed in Aradia and the darkness of the castle!
I wish I had the time to read the physical books of this series as I know I would enjoy them more than the audiobooks, but I’m still captivated by the story itself. I love all the characters, the good & evil, & all the new magic that continues to unfold. So many threads to pull at & to see where they take us.
Incredibly slow moving story. I can appreciate a multi-book series but not to the detriment of the story moving along. The number of times the words “good girl” and “who do you belong to” was said so much it got so exhausting. I really wanted to enjoy this because the characters are interesting but I found myself checking out too much. I won’t be moving on with this series.
This series continues to deliver an excellent story. This book picks up where the last ended almost seamlessly. We along with Aine learn more about her power and source. Another fabulous cliffhanger I am excited to continue this journey. Spice level kicks up a notch in this book which was a fun addition to the plot.
I am sorry but I did not enjoy this second book. I thought that the pace of the story would increase but it was actually a big mess of drugged energy high and the sex between the two charcaters. The story itself evolves of maybe one small step and it is not enough for me to go on with the series.
Great writing, imagination, and the character development are wonderful. I hope there will be more books than the trilogy. These books are worth every moment of reading and immersing into Sunseri's work.
There’s hardly anything more to say except this is a MUST READ. Such a captivating series, whisking you away to a beautifully detailed, sinister and sultry castle, that always leaves you wanting more….more more more….
I voluntarily reviewed this book. Wow. I started out thinking I would go slow and savor this one. I should have known better. Hours later fully engrossed but book was fully read. Time flew by and I was tired the next day but couldn't have put this one down for anything.
This series is amazing. I am loving the high fantasy, good vs evil trope right now. The revelations compound and you can help but be invested in Aine and her purpose to right the world and magick. Each interaction is a force of good vs. evil. Lucius, inherently knows Aine is a threat and is trying to figure her out. Daelon, who only wants to protect and love her has to constantly pick sides. All Aine wants is love and peace. The end of this installment is an unexpected plot twist that I can't wait to see plays out.
