Prior to writing romance, award-winning, USA Today Bestseller Melinda Curtis was a junior manager for a Fortune 500 company, which meant when she flew on the private jet she was relegated to the jump seat—otherwise known as the potty. After grabbing her pen (and a parachute) she made the jump to full-time writer. Between writing sweet romance and sweet romantic comedy, Melinda finds time to bond with her husband over home remodeling projects. She recently came to grips with the fact that she’s an empty nester and a grandma, concepts easier to grasp than jet-setting on a potty.

This is a Clean Second Chance Romance, and this is the 5th book in the Blackwells of Eagle Springs series. This book to me was a super slow moving story with characters that acted like a child. I enjoyed the storyline, but I did not like the characters. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin Heartwarming) or author (Melinda Curtis) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

I got so invested in this book and the lives of the characters that my reading time just flew by. I must admit that I found it incredulous at first that Helen was willing to go back to Nash, but the story itself made the details of their reunion believable and so heart-touching. I especially liked that little Luke was affected by the relationship that was developing again between the Helen and Nash. I also liked how the plot was unpredictable at times, with some real tear-invoking moments built in. I liked that Helen was a strong female protagonist, a farrier who was willing to give up the certainty of wealth with one man for true love with another. Nash annoyed me at times because he seemed clueless, but that lent to the realism of the story and the characters. This Blackwell tale is not to be missed since it’s one of the best!

This story was about two people trying to save the Ranch and Eagle Springs from being bought out for other things.
Helen broke down on the road couldn't get ahold of Nash so she called her ex fiance to come to help her. But Nash finally got her messages and went to find her. When he found her with her ex fiance Nash got a little jealous and made a bet. Nash took the bet for the cutting showdown.
There was alot of things going on when Nash still love Helen. Helen did it this bet for The Blackwell's and the town.
Melinda did a fabulous work on this book. The characters where good match together. She did awesome description that in someplaces brought tears to my eyes.

Thank you in advance to the author, Melinda Curtis, for providing a complimentary review copy. A positive review was not required nor requested, and all words are my own.

Just like the previous four (4) books in this series, this book and series is connected to the RETURN OF THE BLACKWELL BROTHERS and the THE BLACKWELL SISTERS, and is written the same way – with four other authors – Amy Vastine, Anna J. Stewart, Carol Ross, and Cari Lynn Webb.

My introduction to the Blackwell Family, albeit Big E’s side was with Carol Ross’ Montana Match (The Blackwell Sisters #4). I later went on to read the fifth book in that series and bought the first three. I was later gifted the entire set, so I gave my extras to my mom.

Some series books can act as standalones in that when you read it, while it is connected, the previous or subsequent books do not have to be read in order to get a full picture.

This series is definitely best read together and in order. In fact, in the middle of reading this series, I went and found copies of RETURN OF THE BLACKWELL BROTHERS to read at a later date.

While the main romance of each book in this series is mostly concluded at the end of the respective books, the main story continued with small cliffhangers that are carried over into the next book.

This book ties up most of the main plot from the first book.

Christmas time in Eagle Springs and it’s time to check in on Denny’s branch of the Blackwell family in this conclusion of the series. In addition to the upcoming holiday, they’ve got a deadline looming and things are not looking good. And, after a bet, it all hinges on Helen Blackwell – Nash’s ex-wife.

When last we heard, Helen was engaged to Phil, but as this book begins – she can’t marry Phil. She still loves Nash Blackwell. And, if the sweet and romantic cover indicates anything – these two want to get back together. But, it won’t be an easy road with their personal obstacles standing in the way.

Big E – Elias Blackwell – is continuing to help his sister Denny. While no characters from the previous two series make a physical appearance, they are mentioned at the end of this book.

Most of the major characters from the first four books return, even if briefly (or are mentioned):

👒 Corliss – one of the five Blackwell siblings living on and working The Flying Spur
🥘 Mason – Corliss’ 13/14-yar old son (rarely seen, but mentioned)
🚒 Ryder – Eagle Springs’ new fire chief
🐎 Olivia – Ryder’s 8-year-old daughter (not seen as much)
🤠 Wyatt – youngest Blackwell sibling
🤠 Levi – Blackwell sibling, former rodeo star, injured
👒 Adele – widowed, mother of twin girls, Blackwell sibling; tends to get arrested on a regular basis
🚓 Sheriff Grady McMillan – usually arresting Adele on a regular basis
🤠 Nash – Blackwell sibling, divorced, has a son
🤠 Big E (Elias) – Denny’s older brother; lives in Montana
📱 Harper Hayes – social media influencer, accidentally married Wyatt
👒 Gran (Denny) – Matriarch of the Eagle Springs Blackwell family, owner of The Flying Spur Ranch
🐎 Isla Blackwell – Levi’s 10-year-old daughter, a bit obsessed with Summer; part of a riding club
🐎 Summer Davies – professional equestrian

A lot of characters connected with those in the books do not return. Even ones that are related.

Those who read the previous book, Her Favorite Wyoming Sheriff, Grady’s father does not return, nor does Adele’s mother-in-law.

Like books #3 and #4, this one begins differently from the first two as there is NO DATE listed, but it takes place in December – the month the loan is due. Putting this right after book #4.

Due to Nash’s past, there is a reference to alcoholism. Another troubling subject would be the shooting of a horse after an accident – this is done for the animal’s comfort rather than any malice. It is still a standard practice though some might be upset about it.

Curtis starts off with Helen telling Phil she can’t marry him, and of course he doesn’t take it well. This will end up being a plot ploy with regard to a bet between him and Nash and the future of the Flying Spur.

While Nash wants to get back with Helen, he has his own demons – one of those is his sobriety.

Yet, Helen still wants him back.

Now that they know who the enemy is – and, why, time becomes a concern.

Big E realizes that in a way, he has financed Frank’s vendetta against Denny; though not intentionally. And, Frank won’t be happy with the end of the Flying Spur, he wants to divide the family.

As always, happy endings take a while, as does finding a solution to a huge problem. Curtis definitely didn’t make the journey easy, but it was well worth it by the end.

While this was hard to put down, some of the plot did kind of seem to creep a bit. There were a few plot holes that have me wondering if they aren’t going to be worked into another Blackwell series by the authors.

For the most part, I loved Helen and she was definitely the strongest part of the story. I related to her “eviction” issue as earlier this year, my mom and I were given notice that our lease wasn’t going to be renewed – the plan was to renovate and charge more money. We only got lucky because of my mom’s health issues, but it is a frightening thing to experience.

Like the other books, I couldn’t tell there were different authors who wrote the books. This definitely flowed right with those books.

Curtis balanced the serious parts with humor. Some nuggets were “a girl could be happy with a frog”, as well as Big E telling Luke to get a lawyer about a girl bullying him.

I did enjoy the advice Big E gave to Denny to not take responsibility for what someone else does. And, it was interesting to see how Denny ended up “ending” the feud”.

And, if there are more Blackwell stories … heads up … they’re on the TBR stack already! (Y’all can count me in as a reader). This is the first book I’ve read by the author, and it didn’t disappoint.

Those who’ve read the series so far won’t want to miss this, and certainly fans of the author will want to grab this.

Such a heartwarming way to finish the story of the Eagle Springs Denny Blackwell Clan! Nash Blackwell and his ex-wife Helen have been through some hard times but still love each other and have the sand goal in mind - helping to save the Blackwell Ranch AND Eagle Springs. Can the Blackwell Ranch finally be saved? Nash has some big demons to face through this book too. If he can overcome his demons he just might be able to put his family back together and save the ranch. No one said being a Blackwell was easy though.

"There's no sadder sight than two men trying to out [hand]shake each other." - Daria

If my ex-husband and my ex-fiancé made a bet over my ability to win a competition, even when I was loudly protesting them dragging me into their pissing match, I'd light both of them on fire and leave them to burn.

Maybe if I'd read other books in this series before this one, I'd have a different opinion, but all this Manly Pride That Must Be Saved At All Costs has me throwing in the towel at 36%.

This is the perfect holiday romance to immerse yourself. The Blackwell livelihood is in dire jeopardy and so is the local community. Much is riding on Helen, Nash, and the horses. I loved all the personalities Of the hordes, they made the scenes easy to envision.
Helen and Nash have some issues to excise, but the love is still there.
Community, family, the holy grail last minute save falls in line in Christmas miracles.
A HEA awaits each reader.
Thanks to Harlequin and NetGalley for the early read.

Another in the Blackwells of Eagle Springs series, in which farrier Helen Blackwell is still trying to come to terms with her divorce from horse trainer Nash Blackwell. Her heart still loves him, but his drinking drove her away and she's determined to live her own life with their 5-year-old son on her own.

But then she ends up in the middle of a bet that, if lost, could lose the Blackwell ranch and force the family to move away from Eagle Springs. Okay, but the big problem is Helen is scared to death to ride a horse, much less one who is in a cutting horse competition. Nash is determined to teach her how to stay on the horse, but which one will it be? Elite and beautiful Rose or more stable but slower Beanie?
And what about what Nash wants--Helen--even though he dare not tell her so, knowing she'll run away if he does?

The epitome of saving the best for last! I'm a big fan of the Blackwell family, so every story in The Blackwells of Eagle Springs has been sweet, sentimental and endearing but there's just something special about seeing Nash and Helen reunite that ties it all together beautifully. The characters are fast to hook you, the romantic tension is fast paced and sincere and the family drama happening behind the scenes keeps you turning page after page. I loved this series and hope we haven't seen the last of the Blackwells!

Nash is kindhearted and sincere and the tarnish of his past heartache and sins is just light enough to make him easily redeemable and to have the reader pulling for him from start to finish.

Helen is really easy to sympathize with and she proves time and again why she's the ideal person to lasso a man like Nash.

I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone that enjoys a small town romance filled with a close knit group of family and friends who stick beside each other come what may as happily ever afters come knocking whether they are ready for them or not.

Wyoming Christmas Reunion
By Melinda Curtis
Due out November 29 2022

This is the fifth book in the Blackwells of Eagle Springs series. It can be read as a standalone.

This is a second chance romance. Helen and Nash had a trouble passed. But their young son Luke was bound and determined to bring mom and dad back together. Helena Nash had to work together to save the. Blackwell ranch, and Eagle Springs. That meant that Helen and Nash would be spending a lot of time together. They never stop loving each other, so this was exactly what they needed for their second chance.

Melinda once again drew me in from the first page.

I was given this ARC from KBS consultants in return, for my honest review. Thank you to Kimberly, Brad for Scott and Melinda Curtis!

Wyoming Christmas Reunion by Melinda Curtis is book #5 in the Harlequin continuity series, The Blackwells of Eagle Springs. The backstory of Helen Blackwell and Nash Blackwell, how they met, fell in love, divorced and found each other again is expressed in this storyline. I loved every minute of this second chance romance. Add to the mix the conclusion of the overall arc in continuity and the happy ending and I'd say fellow readers will be more than pleased with this book. I love the family togetherness through the troubled, stressful time through the series as well as through the happy times. The characters are very likable and there's lots of fun dialogue. I always enjoy this author's voice and will be looking forward to Ms. Curtis' next release.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

I have read this entire series with this one book awaiting me at the end like a treasured friend. I knew Nash's story would be the last and I couldn't wait to see how his story (and his family's ranch's plight) would end. The author did a phenomenal job at wrapping up all the various story lines that have been going on throughout the series, along with giving enough attention to Nash and Helen's story. They had been married but due to Nash's addiction to alcohol years before, they are divorced. Of course, they never stopped loving each other and share a precocious & delightful son, Luke. Luke brought humor and sweetness to the story that I enjoyed very much. What a charmer! Although Helen had been engaged to another man, she just couldn't continue. Her heart was with Nash. Nash is a man who holds things close to the vest. Helen wants to talk and share feelings! The various moments they went through regarding this were so touching and emotional. I didn't expect to be so moved by it! This story was more emotional than I expected! Several times I had to put the book down and just remind myself that these were fictitious people! I got so invested in them and felt they were real. A truly beautiful story and will stick with me.

This was a really sweet story. The characters really were easy to relate to, to understand their feelings, despite their past divorce. Despite a painful divorce, Helen knows she has never stopped loving Nash. It was great to see how they worked to get over their previous problems and both felt the desire to become a family working together to help save the family's ranch.
I loved the way this book worked out. It was a book that brings the Holiday spirit home. It was a wonderful last book for this series. And a clean romance.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All thoughts are my own.

When Helen Blackwell calls off her engagement to Phil, he ends up angry. Helen still loves her ex-husband Nash. They had problems in the past and she’s sure they can put it behind them. They have a son, too. Helen is determined to get her family back together again. He had a problem but he’s better now. Nash and Phil hate each other. Now she’s been put in the middle with a bet in a horse competition. They know she doesn’t like riding and she’s afraid. Will she do it to save the Blackwell ranch and the town? Can she get over her fear? His whole family is behind her even though they’re mad at Nash for that. She’s family after all. Will Nash realize that there’s nothing more important than his family and not the bet? Will he accept it if they lose? How could he put all the pressure on Helen? Will they get back together? It’s about family, second chances and forgiving the past. Loved it. Melinda Curtis always makes to feel like you’re right there with them. I got this book to read for an honest opinion. Worth it. They whole series is.

I actually was surprised at how very much I enjoyed this book! I am a fan of the author, Melinda Curtis, but I thought this would be just a light romance story and just something pleasant to escape real life with. I was so wrong. It is a very involved plot, full of emotion, and I was so overwhelmed at one point that my heart was in my throat and I was crying. I felt everything the characters were going through, and I cared about them so much! I definitely recommend this book!

I have read a few of the Blackwell series books, and it is a goal for me to read the entire series of 15 books! (There are 3 sets of books, with 5 books in each set.) There is definitely something special about the Blackwell and I want to experience all the stories.

A huge thank you Harlequin Heartwarming and NetGalley for giving me the pleasure of reading the advance reader copy, with no obligation to write a review. My review is written freely as a hobby, and is totally my own opinion, not influenced by receiving the ARC.

I had read and enjoyed all of the Blackwell saga until the Blackwells of Eagle Springs came along at a bad time for me to accept more books to review. So, coming to the party late, as a fan of author Melinda Curtis, I thought it would be fun to read another Christmasy romance by her. She is very good at making even her series books work well as standalones, so that was not an issue for me. Big E from the other Blackwell series is even a crossover to this one.

I liked the first part of Wyoming Christmas Reunion, and I loved the last part and the wrap-up. I didn’t enjoy the middle where divorced Helen and Nash bounce back and forth ad nauseam on overcoming their backgrounds and their current problems, on their love for each other, and on their commitment to each other.

Nash, an outstanding trainer for cutting horses, in his efforts to save the Flying Spur, the family’s ranch, from developers makes a very risky bet. Helen is a farrier by trade; she has given up riding due to the trauma of injuries from horses, Nash’s bet puts her in the position of needing to overcome her fears to even get on a horse again and then learn how to compete on a cutting horse…all in two weeks. I did learn a lot about cutting horse competition and would love to view it live.

The character in the book that charmed me and kept me going during repetitive parts of the book was Helen and Nash’s son Luke, a sweet kindergartener who wants to train his own horse like Nash did as a child. The book has a lot of themes that appeal to me—family, friendship, and forgiveness. Some of the positive attributes on display in the book are commitment, persistence, kindness, and the ability to open up to communicate on even the hard issues. I enjoyed the ending of the book, and I think those who have read the whole series will be pleased with the conclusion as all the major characters in the series make an appearance in the tale that culminates with the traditional Blackwell Holiday Feast. I also enjoyed the way Christmas carols were incorporated into the story to lighten moods and help Helen focus during the competition.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Wyoming Christmas Reunion was a nice way to wrap up this series. This book makes the most sense if you have read the rest of the novels that come before this one.

All through the series, readers have known that Nash was divorced from Helen and it was pretty clear that he still loved her, even though she was involved with someone else. It was nice to finally find out what had happened between them and it was sweet to see that they actually both still loved each other.

There were still quite a few obstacles to them being able to actually find their way back to a relationship together. Yet, even as Nash pushed against the idea of being worthy of Helen’s love, it was wonderful to see the way they were emotionally pulled together time and again. I enjoyed seeing them with their son, Luke, and the way they both loved him so much.

The author wrapped up the series well and it was also fun to have all of the characters from the previous books make appearances throughout the story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

The final book of the Blackwells of Eagle Springs is called Wyoming Christmas Reunion by Melinda Curtis. In this book we are finally going to figure out why someone is trying to buy up the entirety of Eagle Springs. The mystery is solved as well as helping Nash and Helen find their way back to each other. Married and divorced, both are doing their part to pay off a bank loan to help the ranch.

Nash bet that Helen would be able to place in one of the rodeo competitions. The part about how Helen, while being a blacksmith, absolutely does not ride seems to escape everyone. Nash is going to have to spend LOTS of time with Helen to help her learn how to ride. Meanwhile, Denny is struggling more and more and is determined not to give up. This novel really highlights the strength of the Blackwell family.

The ending has a couple of surprises that allows the Blackwells some security while allowing the story to be a great read! I really enjoyed this series and tried to make myself read it slowly. That worked well for the first three books, but I just couldn’t wait anymore! I highly recommend the Blackwell of Eagle Springs series and the book Wyoming Christmas Reunion by Melinda Curtis.

I absolutely loved this book. First let me say this series was amazing. The same authors that have brought us Return of the Blackwell Brothers, and The Blackwell Sisters...now bring us The Blackwells of Eagle Ridge.
Nash Blackwell is helping his family’s ranch and while he’s at it the town. When his ex-wife Helen Blackwell steps back into his life with news he’s not sure how to react. They have a sweet son Luke they both love so very much. The one thing Nash had not expected to do was pull Helen into something that would harm her. A bet between someone who was not liked by his family was not a smart idea. But he did it anyways. All the pressure now rested on Nash and Helen to win.
The family wasn’t happy about it either. Helen knew she would do anything for Nash. She cared about the Blackwell’s. No matter if she was married to him or not there son was a Blackwell.

A must read. So much more to come. So heartwarming, and heartbreaking..
I laughed and I cried.
I didn’t want this series to end.
I will say this each book should be read in order.
These authors make each book flow so well.

If you have read the stories of the Blackwells in Montana and this latest series, the Blackwells in Wyoming, this one is extra special. It finally gives the story of Levi Blackwell, as well as tying up both branches of the Blackwells.
Levi Blackwell, a well respected horse trainer, was married to Helen Blackwell and had a child. But his drinking compounded by a tragic accident, forced Helen to divorce him.
Though now engaged to someone else, Helen never forgot the love of her life and once she breaks up with her fiance, Levi wants to show her he has changed.
In the midst of Helen’s hesitation, a bet is made. One in which the family ranch and the town might come to an end.
As engaging as the story was, one filled with complex characters, this is much more than that. It’s a story about family, alcohol addiction, and how it affects not only the alcoholic, but also those who love them.
At times heartbreaking, it was also heartwarming , touching and filled with the magic and miracle of Christmas. A grand finale for the series.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

I can’t believe we’re at the end of this great series already. I really enjoyed Helen in this book and especially when she came into her own and stood up for herself especially with Phil and how she took on the bet a little hesitant at first but even with that she took charge and did a great job knowing what she had dealt with in the past. We find out a little more about Frank and his personal vendetta against the Blackwell’s and it’s not good. It was nice to see Helen and Nash coming together to save the ranch and one of my favorite parts is when everyone gets together to have dinner and has out whatever is going on at the moment. Unfortunately, Helen did her best but came up short however an unlikely person came forward with an offer I wasn’t sure was legitimate but ultimately with a little Christmas miracle that fell into place as well. I also liked the girls when they said, “if Helen Blackwell can do it, I can do it”. What a perfect quote for this story. I’m happy with the way the story ended but not ready for it to end. Great story!

This is the final book in the Blackwells of Eagle Springs. I hope it's not the last we hear of them!

This story follows Nash and Helen Blackwell. They are divorced and share one of the cutest little boys!

Nash has EVERYTHING riding on training these cutting horses. Save the family farm, save the town, mayve even saving his relationship with his ex...

Helen divorced Nash after he started drinking, she's engaged to someone else (Phil) , until Nash kisses her...

Then Nash makes a bet with Phil... much to Helen's dismay, now she has to get over her fear of horse riding and compete in horse cutting, and place! We'll see what happens in the end.

Melinda is an amazing writer. I first discovered her in the return of the Blackwell brothers series and I've been devouring everything I can ever since. I love her sense of humor and how everything is so family oriented. I can't wait to read whatever she comes up with next!

The fifth and final book in the Blackwells of Eagle Springs wrapped up the series perfectly with a Christmas bow. While this book is a stand-alone story, I would recommend reading them in order to fully connect with this family. Nash and Helen were destined to be together, and their love shows on every page. The scenes of Nash helping Helen overcome her fear of horse riding were endearing. The whole series is all about family and this book really enhances their bond and they even take in a straggler. One of many highlights in this story was Denny’s voice being more prominent, which allowed the reader to get to know her better. This story flowed seamlessly with the books before it. Each book is independent, but the five authors make it feel like they are one writer. They take readers into their world, introduce them to the characters, and welcome them into the Blackwell family. Well done.

What an absolutely perfect book to end this series of the BLACKWELL’S of Eagle Springs. Nash Blackwell and his ex wife Helen feature in this emotional and uplifting story, working together with the Blackwell family to save their town and legacy from greedy developers who are out to ruin the Blackwell family and everything they’ve built. Helen and Nash work together to save the Flying Spur and as a result realise that their marriage isn’t as over as they think. I love that this book is full of hope and love and the characters are driven by their determination to save their home and town. It’s also about forgiveness and moving forward from past mistakes and learning to keep trying even when things are at their worst. I have really enjoyed reading about the Blackwell family and am sad to see it end, they truly feel like friends you are just catching up with. I felt this book was pretty emotional with it being the ending and with some of the things that were discussed. I like Helen and she was a fighter and faced with a lot. She always seem to be fighting for everyone but herself and her friend Gwen was her biggest cheerleader, we all need a Gwen in our lives. Nash was ok I like him when he stepped up but I also felt like he was all over the place and really struggled with his demons. Luke was a pistol and him and Grand Denny seem to have the biggest hearts and wanted what was best for everyone in the family and the town of Eagle Springs. The author kept this book a clean read so it would be suitable for all. Overall this was good read and was the perfect way to end this series.
