I have been waiting for this book since they announced who the guy was. Even if I wasn’t to thrilled with the cover I couldn’t wait for Colton’s book.
The jokerster the funny carefree one when you get his story at a young age your heart breaks for him the shot he went though at age 5 and on. That tiny glimpse had me wanting to pull him close and fight for him. He made sure no one messed with him when he turned a certain age making all notice and respect I’m and the soldiers.
Now someone is taking there jobs and taunting them, he and the other guys don’t like it and there going to make sure they get there’s. Before blood can be shed he noticed the info he got and who is trying to ruin them. Shelly he never met her but he has met her mom who helped him back in the day, he’s confused why they are doing this but he loves the sass mouth she has and no give a shh mood. So much sexual tension and hate!!
The more these two groups clash the more Shelly and the sisters show Colton and crew why they are ruining there jobs and stealing them.
Traps, blackmail and stalking is what happens and Colton enjoys pushing Shelly’s buttons that I love. I do wish we had more steamy scenes. But what we got was so yummy I can forgive how long it took lol.
I can’t wait to read Will and Tyler’s books we might have gotten the next couple ;)

I love good enemies to lovers romance. The banter always cracks me up, especially the dark humor, and Colton is a prime example.
Colton is the joker of the soldiers. Carefree, outgoing jokester with dark humor. I love his physiology on Batman and the joker. Personally, I always loved the joker vs. Batman.
The book starts with Colton at a young age and through the years of his dark life lessons and how the joker was born.
Shelly is a daughter of his past that Knox’s him off his axis. She loves to hate him and is grumpy about his sunshine. A perfect pairing. She is one of my favorite heroines from the author.
The banter is hilarious. Colton melted his way into my heart. Of course, his tattoos and piercings helped. I have to tell you, I wish the sanctuary isn't fictional. These men and those rooms 🥵.
Shout out to the cover; Jarod makes a perfect Colton with his sinister smile.

that being said, shelley needs to know just how lucky she is that colton and his dick jewelley (iykyk) exist. its a good read, im always a slut™️ for tattoos and dick piercings🧎♀️ (and colton’s special kind of fucked up🥵🛐).

Nikki got her little smut writing grippers right around my heart from the very first chapter. my little bby Colton! I loved the backstory into his little crazy mind and what/who shaped him into the man he is. I felt like Freud trying to psycho analyze my little Joker.

The way Colton and Shelley’s stories intertwine in the beginning, that they kind of were always connected just made it that much more delicious to me by the end.

Quickie Review-May contain spoilers, fair warning upon reading this review
I wanted to really enjoy this story, and honestly he is my favorite of this crew so far. But to be honest this book was lacking and didn't deliver as I expected. I really didn't enjoy the setup of the romance, the angst or the heroine at all. The heroine just rubbed me the wrong way and is my least favorite of the heroines we have been introduced to. I just didn't feel the chemistry between these two and it felt so lackluster from the previous books. And also the heroine was very toxic at times and not in a good way. In a way, that leaves you with a bitter taste in your mouth on the negatives of feminism. She felt very ignorant and is it bad I wished that she was the villain and got some justice? Yeah that's how I felt about her. I wanted this hero to get a satisfying ending with a woman that would understand him and connect with him and give him what he needed, and just didn't feel like she came even close to that. I will probably take some time before I read Player, because this turned me off completely and I truly don't want to take it out on the rest of the books or this author. I really respect her and loved the first two books.

Okay, hear me out. I devoured this in 3 hours. I literally couldn't put it down!
I can't believe how much I loved this book. The storyline kept me on edge the whole time and the smut was so fucking hot 🥵
The first book of this series was about Adam, then it was Devon and now it's Colton.
These three along with Tyler and Will are "soldiers" who make sure that their area is safe from criminals. When residents have trouble with someone and want them out of the picture the soldiers are those who intervene after they receive a request from them.
These men are not playing around. They have their own sanctuary full of weapons and tech material. If you fuck with them then you better kiss your life goodbye. They're not gonna think twice before they eliminate you.
So in this book.. we read about Colton. Boy.. this man had a difficult beginning. If difficult means having a father who's in the porn industry and takes advantage of people around him. His son included.
Anyway. Colton and his friends are like..minding their own business like usually.
Until one day a rival "gang" arrives and starts taking their jobs. Imagine their surprise when they reached their targets and they were already unalived. Them finding their targets already dead with messages on the walls around them was something I could read again and again. Why?
Because the rival "gang's" members were all proven to be women. 😌 Hell yeah ✊
Of course one gang hated the other until they realized that they're not enemies BUT they actually HAVE a common ENEMY.
Shelley is Colton's love interest and guess what. She's one of the women from the other gang. Reading these two bantering and then fucking like crazy had me gasping 🥵

I LOVED this book. I rarely like heroines but Shelley was badass. You may think she's a bitch at some parts and trust me.. I thought it too, but she only wanted to protect her feelings.🖤
GOSH I LOVED COLTON'S SNARK! Snarky characters are the best. I could read his cocky ass speak nonstop.
The steam was top-notch 👌The author literally gave us sex scene after sex scene in this book. I died 💦

Would I say that this was an enemies to lovers romance? Not really, no. A bit of banter/push and pull without actual hatred and conflicting emotions doesn't make it enemies to lovers in my eyes. Was it my fav book in the series so far? Absolutely yes. My heart hurt for what Colton had been through. As for, Shelly...she was your average fl with daddy issues and abandonment issues (so nothing too major when it comes to dark romance - I've read worse shit than this lmao). As usual and as stated in my previous reviews for this series, this is strictly NOT a dark romance imo. Regardless, I did enjoy it and I look forward to reading Tyler and Will's story as well!
P.S. The cover is legitimately scary. This shit is what nightmares are made of lmfao😭

I knew I would love this book just from the prologue 😂 “ a message from Colton” yep, I was hooked. I’ve been following this series and have loved every single book, I can’t wait to read the rest of our guys! But first, it’s all about Colton 🥹🫶🏻🖤

I absolutely love how it starts with 5 year old Colton, then 13 year old and so on. We get to see how Colton become the Joker. It’s heartbreaking and pulls at your hearts strings 🥺

13 year old Colton is when we witness the change in his life, when we first see that joker smile of his and his turning point. This is when Colton becomes the Joker.

We also get to see the guys before they become the soldiers..it would turn out Colton had a lot to do with the making of the soldiers! There is more behind that big smile of his…🫶🏻
We are eventually introduced to Shelley! The back and fourth love/hate and banter between them is EVERYTHING! The pure hatred and lust rolls off them in waves. They are so perfect for each other as they are both psychotic in their own ways 😂

Lesson 1: Everybody lies.
Lesson 2: Smile, it fools everybody.
Lesson 3: Friends are the family you choose for yourself.
Lesson 4: Sometimes a lie is better than the truth.
Even though "Rebels of Sandland" are more my cup of tea, I can not deny that the soldiers have their own twisted and weird charm!!! Yes, I still haven't gotten over the fact that they sneakily grabbed the Sanctuary under my beloved Rebels' noses, but they are growing on me!!!
Nikki had done an exceptional work with this crew and each book in the series is better than the one before and I can tell you that Colton's story is my favorite!!!
Nikki paired him with an amazing creature that wasn't backing down on any challenge and we loved her for that!!! [I mean me and Colton ;-)]

Wannw walk that line with me?"
I believe that everyone that had visited Brinton Manor knows by now that this place is insane on so many aspects and the Soldiers of Anarchy are crazy and psychotic motherf**kers...
This crew is very dark, fucked up and intense, but as their stories are coming out, we can finally understand their craziness and bloodthirst a little bit better...
And I loved being inside Colton's head... It was fun to be there, even though a little bit dark and scary...
Shelley was the perfect match for him and I liked that she wasn't sweet at all!!! I liked her own craziness as much as I loved Colton's!!! They were really a match mad ein Heaven and I loved them!!!
"Some people come into our lives as a blessing, but you? You're a fucking curse. Even the devil himself will be begging for a break when you land in hell."
Things in the Soldiers' world is becoming really strange and fucked up and they have to find out who is getting in their way...
What Colton is not expecting is for a little girl to stand in front of him and provoke him relentlessly...
Imagine that, her distaste and hatred of him is making Colton more determined to have her and a crazy ride for both of them is starting from there!!!

Yes, this is a very messy world and in there are living people with questionable actions and motives, but I can not deny that I am very intrigued of this world and I just need more!!!

The cover though, I think this book's cover is the best that we have got in the series so far. It really does fit Colton 🥵
I have not been able to read any kind of romance recently but this book was so good that I got through it in one sitting. I knew that Colton would be the most interesting character amongst the soldiers, this book was indeed something I really enjoyed in a while.
I must admit the first two books were somewhat a little bland in comparison but that was because this book had a spitfire FMC and an equally ballsy MMC. Maybe an enemies-to-lovers isn’t that healthy but in the fictional world everything goes and this book achieved that. I loved Colton and Shelley’s banter, the way they challenged one another, the way they had each other’s back together – exactly the kind of distraction I needed from my own life. The way the prologue was all the way till the epilogue, it felt like a good bowtie to a present.
This book has set a good expectation for the next two soldier’s stories to come and I look forward to it!

Can someone hook Nikki up with Netflix or HBO? This is one of those series that deserve to be on TV. Definitely in my top 5 favorite reads of the year. The book I was waiting for since I finished The Reaper back in April! I dropped everything I was doing and jumped to read the moment I realized the book had landed on my kindle. Five stars are not enough to rate how this book made me feel. It exceeded every expectation I had.
If you've followed my reviews, you know I was expecting Colton's story for a long time. His captured my attention from the first book. He was everything I imagined he would be and more. His story plus the introduction to Shelley and her sisters and the amazing plot drew an amazing picture that consumed me from page one. These soldiers have been addictive since the moment I met them, but each book dives deeper and deeper into their brotherhood, their motives, their strength and weaknesses and the beautiful hearts they're hiding behind the tough masks they've been forced to put up. Colton wasn't the exception. Being inside his mind and learning where his mask came from was such a captivating journey, seeing the root of his sarcasm, the cynicism, the jokes, the smirks and the laughter that sometimes was more pain in disguise than anything else but also his journey towards the soldiers and the beginnings of his loyalty to them. I was angry and sad for him many times and definitely rooted for his happy ending from the very first chapter. I loved how meeting Shelley finally broke his shell and let out this sweet, sacrificial and loving man with all the love in the world to give to the right person.
Shelley was such a badass. Loyal to the fault. Even when she was scared to the bone she wouldn't show it, she was a talented, determined woman with a mission and wouldn't let anyone get in her way. Not even Colton. She just wanted to protect her family and serve justice to those who deserved it. Just like Colton, her backstory was heartbreaking and my heart felt for her many times. Her mind was such a delight to me, she was funny and clever and always had a smart comeback for Colton's smartass mouth. I loved that despite being so independent and a person who liked to do things her way, she let Colton and the rest of the Soldiers help her when she needed it. She was brave and loyal, I loved how Nikki crafted her to be exactly what Colton needed to a T.
As a person who doesn't really like this trope (enemies to lovers), I have to say, Nikki hit the ball out of the freaking park with this book. A perfect example of what this trope should be in my opinion: Perfectly understandable motivations to dislike each other. Delicious banter and "enemies" dynamic. Incredible tension and chemistry. No disrespect between the characters. The right balance between the characters' traits to complement each other in and out of bed. The perfect and smooth transition from enemies to lovers. Definitely the perfect choice for the couple and the plot, this trope suited them in every way. They were perfection together. Once they crossed the infamous line between hate and love, their passion and intensity was to die for! The emotional and physical connection was the most natural thing in the world, I just couldn't put the book down at all.
I simply can't describe how smart and genius the plot around the romance was. It made my jaw drop several times. I was so invested and felt every single emotion. The Soldiers once again had to face danger and death while looking for revenge. I said it before, they are just addicting. I had to read some scenes twice because I didn't want to miss a single detail of what was going on and at the same time I wanted to read fast but I also didn't want the book to end. Seeing them together in action again, solving new mysteries and slaying new enemies was just as exciting as seeing Colton and Shelley getting together. Their loyalty, their protectiveness were even stronger this time and the family they formed is getting bigger and bigger. The only question in my mind now is... Who's the next MC? I have a small idea but I can't wait for Nikki to reveal the name of the next Soldier who'll get his HEA.
This dark, vigilante romance was the perfect way to spend my weekend. My paperback is already on its way to me and now I'm sad because I need to wait for the next book to come out. See my struggle? I think I need to find time to re-read this entire series in the meantime.

This book is the definition of dark romance. I fell in love with Colton right when he first appeared in Adam's story. The joker is my favourite dark romance book, it was so hot OMG 😱. The push and pull arguing slowly building an amazing chemistry. Lawd🥵 I love the slow burn.It was roller coaster ride and a must READ.

Nikki J Summers continues breaking records with her 6th, yes 6th consecutive 5 star book.
The Joker is the best of Nikki J Summers, she always writes the most swoon worthy guys and Colton King is no exception.
Colton was such a sweetheart and hilarious too I have to say. Shelley was such a good match for him. She was a typical Nikki J Summers female character in that she was strong as hell and took no shit from anyone. She and Colton were amazing together.
Also typical for this series is a plot twist I didn't see coming. And I normally guess them long before they're revealed. In this I wasn't even guessing cause I had no clue.
I must say I LOVED the idea of having Colton talk to the reader, his little introduction of himself and his life and his little message at the end was an amazing touch. So clever.
I really enjoyed seeing more of Will and Tyler as well, I hope they get books themselves. But let's be honest I'm also hoping Nikki J Summers writes like 50 more books because I cannot get enough.

I didn't think a couple could beat Adam/Liv, but Colton/Shelley are so precious it hurts 😭😭
Such a dynamic duo!! And I loved that here it was Shelley that was emotionally stunted and didn't know how to express her feelings and was afraid to let someone in. Coltons back story was so tragic, but he knew what he wanted and he was so patient and sweet with Shelley.
I think Colton is my favorite MMC so far. And Shelley is badass and they now work together as vigilantes, cleaning the streets of crime lol. Love that.
So much angst and longing. So much great conversation about feelings for two people that have never done this before or ever wanted more with anyone.
These two pulled me in immediately, and I absolutely devoured their story in one day.
-no Vs (both experienced, not much detail on past but we know they are experienced)
-no ow/OM drama
-enemies to lovers
-found family
-dual POV
-plot (this one had the best plot in my opinion)

The Soldiers of Anarchy are a group of vigilantes who hand out their own kind of justice in their hometown of Brinton Manor while turning an asylum into a nightclub and home for themselves. Colton is the joker of the group but don’t let that smile fool you because he’s just plain crazy as are the rest in his group. His upbringing is what shaped Colton which we learn about in the first part of this book which just broke my heart.
Colton may finally have met his match in Shelley. This is a enemies to friends book that was a huge page turner that I couldn’t put down. Just be prepared for all time craziness. I not only recommend this book but I'm definitely going back to read the others in the Soldiers of Anarchy series.

Colton & Shelley, THE CHEMISTRY AND TENSION between these two characters is just immaculate 🤌🏻 And may I say we absolutely stan a badass female who puts men in their places (much like Miss Quinn herself).
I mean we all want a guy who is just utterly OBSESSED with his woman and this was Colton to a T. He knew from the second they locked eyes this woman was his everything, his queen, his life. We love the he falls first trope 🛐

Book 3 of the Soldiers of Anarchy series. Each book follows a different set of characters and can be read as a stand-alone but to get the most of the story it is suggested to read the books in order. It is a dark romance sooooo CHECK TRIGGERS!
This book starts with a 5yr old Colton and continues to periodically time jump forward to get up to present time. These jumps are all super easy to follow, all while making your heart hurt for pre-joker Colton, who has witnessed way more than a child his age needs to. Colton spends most of his young adulthood trying to get out from under his fathers image, right his fathers wrongs, and make a name for himself.
Colton and Shelley’s paths cross in an unconventional manner when the soldiers targets start showing up mutilated by means other than the soldiers personal brand of vigilante justice. Who would be stupid enough to encroach on their territory...and why?
In my continuation of binging this series, I could not wait to get to get to Colton’s book. He was one of my favorites throughout the series so far and finalllllyy we get him in all his psychotic glory! I loved getting to see inside Colton’s mind after only really seeing the fun joking aspect of his personality in the first two books. We’re able to see how serious he can be, how fiercely loyal he is, and how quickly a sassy woman with a fierce temper can bring him to his knees. We already knew how charming Colton was but when we get his sweet side he doesn't let anyone see, he will have you swooning! He is very cheeky and his inner cometary had me literally laughing out loud.
I figured it would take someone equally as ruthless and almost as crazy to handle Colton and Shelley does not disappoint! Shelley was a strong, resilient, take no shit character who is perfect for our Joker! The soul deep connection these two had was rocky to begin with, but there was no deterring Colton once he had his mind set. Aside from Shelley hating Colton in the beginning, and her questionable attraction to Colton's psychotic, yet panty dropping behavior.. she still has her own hang ups about serious relationships in general that causes her to struggle with her feelings.
This had a suspenseful plot that kept me hooked and guessing. I’m not sure who might be next, but with the little easter egg sneaks we got from Will and Bryony… I’m hoping we get more of what’s going on there! 🤔😆 I can’t wait to see what’s next for this series!

Omg I loved every minute of Colton's story, he has become my new favourite soldier and you will have to read his story to find out why.
I knew after the Prologue this book was going to be a wild ride of emotions. This boy has seen a lot in his life and it's no wonder he becomes the Joker everyone is scared of. And I couldn't wait to see what kind of woman would complete Colton, even though he says he will never find the one.
I love how Nikki wrote Colton's story in parts; it just made so much sense to his story. I am filled with so much love for Colton and Shelley. How they found each other was perfect, dare I say that it was fate. They needed each other to heal from their past so they were able to move forward together. The push and pull of the arguing were slowly burning for the build-up of a huge bomb of chemistry for these two. It was one of many favourite parts of this story. All the mystery that was jam-packed in this story added to the roller-coaster ride which is Colton and his life as a soldier and maybe finding love because if I learned one thing from Colton it's that he loves a challenge and Shelley will be his biggest yet.

Omg I loved every minute of Colton's story, he has become my new favourite soldier and you will have to read his story to find out why.
I knew after the Prologue this book was going to be a wild ride of emotions. This boy has seen a lot in his life and it's no wonder he becomes the Joker everyone is scared of. And I couldn't wait to see what kind of woman would complete Colton, even though he says he will never find the one.
I love how Nikki wrote Colton's story in parts; it just made so much sense to his story. I am filled with so much love for Colton and Shelley. How they found each other was perfect, dare I say that it was fate. They needed each other to heal from their past so they were able to move forward together. The push and pull of the arguing were slowly burning for the build-up of a huge bomb of chemistry for these two. It was one of many favourite parts of this story. All the mystery that was jam-packed in this story added to the roller-coaster ride which is Colton and his life as a soldier and maybe finding love because if I learned one thing from Colton it's that he loves a challenge and Shelley will be his biggest yet.

A smile can hide a thousand sins but it can also cover a lifetime of heartbreak. Colton has had his share of crap handed to him in his upbringing…..if you can even call it that!
But some sage advice from an unexpected source sparked the beginning of the new Colton, the rebel, the happy go lucky chap and the joker.
This advice was the catalyst he needed to take control of his future. He made himself from nothing and underneath all the face and humour he is an absolute sweetheart!
Now, none of these boys are angels! They are all living on the edge, in that grey area very few like to tread! But throughout their history in Brinton and with their work, they are in charge, they call the shots….but what happens when someone else starts beating them to it….when they are faced with another version of themselves…..
We encounter Shelley quite a few chapters into the story. She catches Colton’s eye and invades his thoughts. When they finally meet there are fireworks….she is nothing like who he imagined. She is also in the most unexpected place. Fire and rage are her driving powers and she can give him more than a run for his money. Sizzling hate chemistry is vibrating off of her as they spar and snarl at each other….straight away it’s clear that these two are perfect for each other!!
I absolutely loved this story, my heart was in my mouth as drama led to terror, friends became enemies and enemies caused mayhem for the brothers.
Buckle up and settle in for another ride with the soldiers…..no heart is safe!
