Their breakup left two shattered hearts. When a chance encounter brings them back together, can they whip up a new batch of romance?
Noah Barrett has run out of options. In desperate need of help raising his turbulent teen daughter, the forty-year-old marine scientist plans to move them both to another state to be closer to his mother. But when they take a summer detour to a Florida beach rental for some bonding, he’s shocked to stumble across his still-stunning high school sweetheart.
Kathryn Hart is determined to turn life's lemons into sugary delights. Regretful she left her first love at her mom’s urging, the widowed bakery owner’s heart catches fire when her former fiancé unexpectedly walks back into her life. But elbow deep in freakish disasters, pastry chef divas, and irresponsible employees, she hardly has time to face old hurts and longings.
Torn between chasing the-one-that-got-away and fulfilling his plans, Noah can’t escape his emotions when his kid takes a job working for the beautiful baker. And as Kathryn tries to focus on building five-star success, she fears falling again for her irresistible ex will only bring grief when his vacation ends.
Will their reunion turn into a final goodbye or a sweet forever?
Beachside Bakery is the scrumptious first book in the Sea Stars and Second Chances clean romance series. If you like entertaining casts of characters, picturesque locations, and a sprinkle of suspense, then you’ll adore Juliet Brilee’s yummy tale.
Noah is a single dad to Maya. He rents a cottage for a couple of months in a town he had lived in. He’s familiar with the bakery & is surprised to find his longtime love working it & the inn around it. Kathryn is surprised to see Noah again. The story takes off from there. Good characters, scenes are written as I felt I was there, & conversations were believable. An easy, relaxing read!
A nice storyline Second chance romance, though honestly not much romance and lacked any passion, I would have liked a bit more especially being second chance. A bit of drama with possible drug smuggling was a good l!it but there was no conclusions at the end so left hanging which is frustrating and lost a star in my review if I'm honest. I just don't like loose ends.
We all have had a young relationship that didn’t work out. Very few people get that second chance like Kat and Noah. Beachside Bakery grabbed from me from the first chapter. I had no idea that cream filled pastries could be so sexy. From Maya, Noah’s struggling daughter, to bags of drugs found near by in the mangroves. The book oozes love. Can’t wait for the sequel.
I have been following this author for several years. I always enjoy reading her books. She is an excellent writer, appreciates and values nature ,has yummy food descriptions and is very knowledgeable about relationships. Thank you for another satisfying and interesting story.
An engaging and heartfelt second chance romance, with lovable characters and the perfect amount of suspense to keep it interesting. I want to visit this town to taste the goodies at the bakery and have a spa day at the inn. I can’t wait for the next book so see what happens next in this beach town. Loved it!
Life can be complicated. It all depends on you and the choices you make. This is a story about choices and timing. Good practical characters with some personal quirks. Some are likeable and some are not. I liked the setting, the attitude and the joy of love shared.
If you like to read about second chances, this book will not disappoint. Parental influence and conditioned thinking once created the heartbreak of ending a loving relationship. Now years later by chance the couple meets again. Each has a load of problems but a common one is what to do with the spark igniting the fire of love.
When the author had characters "stroll" onto scenes that were full of tension, I wanted to scream. How could anyone "stroll" at those times? or is the author just turning to a thesaurus without checking the connotation of words? This highlights one of the biggest dangers of indy publishing: using a cheap editor or no editor. This type of mistake screams "amateur" faster than anything.
Life doesn’t always follow the plans you make, the dreams of the future. But now two people who years ago, thought their future was together, meet again. Will this time be different or will old hurts keep them apart? Love and a little intrigue make this a good read!
Heartwarming second chances story about Kat, Noah and Maya. Wholesome story line with a nice dose of mystery. I hope the author writes another story about Colt! The character is mysterious with a tall, dark and handsome setup for a juicy romance.
Kathryn gave up college and went home to run the family bakery and inn. When she went north to college she also gave up her high school beau, Noah. When he comes back one summer with his daughter the attraction is still there....
I devoured this book.I honestly finished it and maybe less than a day. I was super into the descriptions of the places. It felt like you were actually At the bakery and the beach 5/5 Stars
Parents should allow their children to make mistakes even if it’s the mistakes they made in life. We all learn from our mistakes we either grow or fall.
