This was a free ebook and worth every penny ;) Admittedly, there were some parts I skimmed but in all the author did a good job summarizing the points and suggesting life changes.
I was looking for something non fiction to read for my own self improvement. This book fit the bill and came with an added bonus - there were points made in it that will help as background information for my next fiction novel. Overall, there was much that was repetitive, which is why I gave a 4 star review. However, the info and action steps were enlightening. I can see how completing the exercises will bring a peace to anyone’s life if practiced on a regular basis.
Decent introduction to Stoic philosophy and a solid self-help guide that makes Stoicism practical for everyday life. Drawing on the wisdom of philosophers such as Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, and Epictetus, it breaks down timeless ideas like controlling what you can, accepting what you can’t, and focusing on your reactions to challenges—all in a way that feels relevant and actionable for modern-day readers. I couldn’t put this book down and finished it in literally a day. It’s not too long, either.
I liked that the book was to the point and simplified. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a little advisory book for a better day to day living
I liked the layout of this book and it was an easy read. Stoicism is a concept that interests me so I am glad it was free on Kindle. Lots of the information resonates!
