WHISKEY GIRL is part one of Logan and Macey’s emotional, friends-with-benefits cowboy romance, which continues in Warrior Girl and concludes in Wild Girl. Whiskey Girl and Warrior Girl end in cliffhangers.
Logan Wild isn’t just the hottest bronc-riding cowboy in Texas. He’s also my best friend—with benefits. And that’s all we’ll ever be.
Because I know better than to believe in a fairytale.
While other girls dream of finding their Mr. Darcy, I’m the girl standing behind the bar and cleaning up spilled whiskey.
Logan gets that.
Until one night in Vegas…when everything changes.

USA Today Bestselling author Melissa Belle writes about smart, sassy women and the hot, sexy men who want them. She spent years in the field of psychology before writing her first novel on the train in Europe. She often works through her story ideas while hiking with her husband or hanging out with her two kitties. She loves road trips and songwriting. And cupcakes.
I'm not a reviewer that rehashes the plot, if you're reading the reviews you know what the book is about. I'll tell you what I look for in reviews: what I like (or don't) about the book. I'll start by saying, I don't like cliffhangers...at all. I don't mind a little set up for the next book if it's a series, but I want a complete story in each book. This book ends in a true cliff hanger. It just stops. The story feels as if it's ramping up, then The End. I did not know that going into the book. That being said, I was enjoying it enough to continue reading when the next one is released...if I remember to look for it. I'm a Texas girl, I love reading about my home state and I'm picky about how the people are portrayed. Overall, I was pleased with the cowboys and ladies we meet in this book. The older generation seems to leave a lot to be desired as far as parenting goes, but that's what makes these characters who they are. I look forward to seeing these characters grow and hopefully find their happily ever after.
It is clear that Macey and Logan are in love with each other but their hang-ups with marriage and commitment keep there best friend status and their one time a year hook-up working for them.
Logan and Macey need to just be honest with each other and be together as a couple. In this 1st part of their story we see they want to be together but things keep them apart.
It ends in a cliffhanger with Logan breaking Macey's spirit and thinking she lost her best friend.
To be honest this book took me awhile to get through even though it was a shorter book than I normally read. I do not feel that I was as invested in the characters as I needed to be and was a little bored with the story.
I was not expecting to get pulled into a small town in Texas who is supposedly haunted by the ghost of Jane Autrey. In fact almost everyone is named after the ghost and her love Mr. Darcy. The story focuses on Logan and Macey two best friends who give themselves a spicy night each year. It’s a cliff hanger and now I need to read book two to see what happens after Logan says he’s getting married to someone else. Yikes!
Friends-to-lovers romances are some of my favorites, and this one had me truly rooting for the hero and heroine. Macey and Logan are best friends and have been for years. When the time came, they became friends with benefits. While he works on the ranch a short ride from the saloon she works at, she tends bar for a father who can't seem to get it together. She's watched the pain that has been caused between her parents over the legend that surrounds the bar, and she doesn't want anything to do with it. But she feels trapped, and Logan is her only outlet.
Logan's heart belongs to Macey, and pretty much every other part of him too. He'd give anything for her to see what they can be together, but he knows what she's been through. He's watched it all happen as has the rest of the town. Still, he's there when her friend wants to take a trip to Vegas to get married, and he helps her deal with the problems this causes. However, what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas.
I love this story, and I love the way this author tells it. There are so many deeper nuances to her characters, and she has a way of helping us dig to those depths with her. The little paranormal aspect she wove into the tale is fantastic, and I look forward to seeing how it is resolved.

I wasn’t enjoying this book and planned on a bad review up until the 98% mark. I expect a lot from this author. “Colton” is a favorite I still reread.
This book is so unbelievable. There are so many things that didn’t make sense. The arrangement between Macey and Logan? Ridiculous. The fake marriage competition put together by Macey’s dad? Dumb. The ghost/paranormal aspect? Silly. The PG-rated love scenes? Frustrating. The family drama? Uninteresting. The reason both Macey and Logan don’t ever want to get married to anyone? Ludicrous.
But the ending? My heart hurt, just a little bit. Not enough to read the next book but I will look for spoilers to see what happens to Macey and Logan. The ending gave this book an extra star from me.
Macey Henwood decided early on to avoid the mistakes her parents made and to never marry. With any other guy, Macey doesn't need rules. She don’t lose herself. But with the hot Logan Wild? Macey needs rules. Lots of them. Because Logan makes Macey forget that love is dangerous. Will Logan be able to change Macey's mind?
Whiskey Girl is an angsty, drama-filled and steamy story with a sweet hero you'll fall in love with. I can't wait to read Warrior Girl, Book 2 of the Wild Men Texas series.
Macey & Logan have a friends with benefits deal, but it's only once a year. He will take what he can get but he wants so much more. How can he convince her? Then her parents come up with her getting fake married to the winner of the horse race. Logan is confident he will win so he can fake marry her. But he wants a real one-night honeymoon. Will that lead to a real marriage? Cliffhanger here. Can't wait to read the next 2 books in the series.
Whiskey Girl by Melissa Belle is book 1 of 3 in this series & although it ends with a cliffhanger of all cliffhangers this is a truly captivating story & I can’t wait for books 2 & 3. I’m normally not a fan of cliffhangers but this author warns from the start of the blurb & doesn’t disappoint with the story. I received an advanced copy of this ebook & voluntarily leave my review so others don’t miss this Awesome read.
Whiskey Girl, Wild Men Texas book one by Melissa Belle. Great first book in a three book series with cliffhangers. Loved the characters in this story. It had some great ups and downs in the storyline. Right now I’m feeling pretty down. I’m hoping the next book will lift me back up. Can’t wait to read the next book!
Great start to a new series. This one is filled with all of the angst, heart break, doubts and insecurities you can imagine but these 2 have some serious chemistry if only Macey's head would get out of the way. Looking forward to book 2 to see how the results of the surprise Logan brought home goes. I volunteered an honest opinion for this book.
I fell in love with Logan and Macey in this hot friends-with-benefits romance. This is a unique and steamy read with a cliffhanger that has me craving the next book in the trilogy now! This story has more to it than just bedroom scenes, and the H and h are strong characters who are three-dimensional and intriguing. Can't wait to find out what happens next!
I enjoyed the fact that the chapters were either short or there was action breaks. This allowed me to pick up and put down the book as needed. Macy and Logan’s story is complicated-by family and the rules they have set on their relationship. This is a cliffhanger ending! There is no HEA- yet! I am looking forward to books 2&3! I received an advance copy of this book.
For Macey, the bartender with rules. Specifically for her once a year hook up, Logan Wild. It’s a smash up of P&P, Wild boys and Macey.
I like that Macey is realistic about relationships. There’s steam and drama and a few giggles. This is just the start of a trilogy and does end in a cliffhanger.
ARC Review For honest review. Lacey henwood in the town of Darcy Texas her parents do a wild Darcy derby at the cowherd bar for the austen 's ghost to be free, but Logan wild her best friend and loved is the only man she can love. This is there story and their relationship loved the characters.
If you're looking for a steamy romance with an unpredictable ending, then this is the nook for you! The main characters are well thought out and come with a few surprises. The story keeps you on your toes at every turn.
Two people who have been friends forever, have gone through ups and downs, and have one rule, once a year they have sex but never in a bed. But things between them have changed. I loved it.
I hate no Enders. So if you don't like being left hanging go for it. Do t get me wrong. I love series books. But no Enders? Nope. Didn't know this or would never have read.
Wild story about two wild people! I don't usually like cliff hangers especially when I don't see why its necessary. But I hope to find out why when I read the next story.
I read this quite quickly, I loved reading about Macey and Logan's story. It was quite fast paced and well written.
I need to read the rest of the books to see what happens next. I should have read it was a trilogy before I started reading it as I was disappointed to have finished the first book.
This story is a good start to the series. It definitely has a very abrupt cliffhanger. I am looking forward to seeing where this story goes as I really like these characters.
