A Light Through A Window "months of silence louder than the fight-" From poet, doodler and speaker Haley Dewey comes a collection of poetry that explores the dissonance between absence, darkness and light. "A Light Through A Window," pulls the blinds back from the most disfigured and debaucherous versions of ourselves, inviting the reader to abandon the dark and find healing in the beauty of Light.
Join poet Haley Dewey on her journey through the dark to the light in her new collection "Light through A Window." Her writing is beautiful yet stark as we fall to the depths of despair with her but then rise to the brilliant glory of God's redemption. When this book was written, Haley said that she had begun sacrificing her beliefs for others, which led to depression and suicidal thoughts. She wrote the book to encourage readers to return to the light. Yes, the book explores shadows, recesses, and the bleakness of life, but the light shines so brightly here that it obliterates despair and hopelessness. It touches on isolation, sexual abuse, discord, pain, political and sexual upheaval, and depression. When first reading, difficult feelings flooded as many of us have struggled with darkness, disorder, and chaos. Her words paint pictures of how broken we are without the beauty of light. This book is for the young, the old, the middle, and all those interested in exploring their inner thoughts, outer circumstances, and redemption. In "Light Through A Window," you will find comfort in knowing the light of Jesus heals any brokenness. #poetry #newbooks #lamplightpoets #redemption
Dewey has a unique voice in poetry. It’s not just about rhyme or rhythm but about the profound power words hold. Intentionally crafted and beautifully designed, A Light Through A Window is a lovely read for poetry lovers.

Thank you to the author for an ARC of A Light Through a Window. A positive review was not required, only my honest opinion. All thoughts are expressly my own.
Haley has composed a delightful composition of impactful poems in this collection. Her work eloquently depicts contemporary suffering and, rather than comfort with meaningless lies, embraces the beauty and glory of truth.
Her poetry also possess unique characteristics that are difficult to pinpoint. Yet you will read them and immediately recognize their distinctness, often when she repeats specific words.
This is Haley's inaugural work as a poet. And it's an extensive, gritty, gut-punch of a beautiful book. Full disclosure, I'm a friend and received an advanced-reader-copy PDF but have since ordered an official one, because it's just that good. I don't prefer to leave 5 star reviews, but again, it's just that good.
Her style isn't rhyme and meter most of the time, more of a free-verse type (which is what I write as well.) I cannot recommend this book highly enough if you're into free-verse, autobiographical poetry. Some of it's painful to read (in a good way), while other pieces are just plain lovely. Haley is definitely the best new poet of 2022, and I can't wait to read what she has in store next! Highly recommend her book!
Haley is a great poet! This book is a ballad of her story, and I think it is beautifully well done. She puts you on a journey of her life through rhythms and pictures.
