This series meant so much to me as a kid, and this is such a great tribute and continuation of the story that brings back so much life and possibility! I really enjoyed how it seemed to fix or laugh at some of the…less ideal…story points from the series finale and yet still feel true to the original story. It makes it feel like everything was intentional. Super well done!
Literally perfect, so well done. Captures personalities and character arcs from the show amazingly!! The BEST way of handling the let down of phantom planet finale. Danny is at his best in this book. The ghost lore was so interesting!! I really hope there’s more of these to come but until then I know I will definitely be rereading this one like crazy :)
Is giving this book four stars too generous? Maybe. Did child me squeal with absolute joy while reading this because Epstein did such a great job encapsulating what made me adore Danny Phantom? Yes. Did child me have an intense crush on Danny Phantom? No further questions will be answered, your honor.
This was a great continuation adventure of Danny Phantom, with great art and a great story. It evolved the lore of the universe in a fun way, and honestly, I want more. Epstein left it open so that more can be given, and I'll genuinely be sad if it isn't. This was up there with Teen Titans as one of my favorite cartoons as a kid (nowhere near Avatar, but nothing can be near that), and I cannot describe to you how delighted I was to know it would be continued in comic form. So just... more please?
Like, that end battle. The goosebumps I got. And Danny's new resolution for how he will proceed in life. And just all the opening endings in the story. I DEMAND MORE, DANG NAB IT!!!
This represents a hostile takeover of the Danny Phantom canon by fans and for fans, and I'm low-key obsessed with it. I loved the show in high school to a fanatic level (as an adult... it doesn't hold up, I'm afraid) and seeing a lot of the more contentious developments from the show's late years being explicitly thrown out for a new continuity made my heart soar. It's hard to explain what's so good about this without launching into a dissertation on the show and the weird relationship its fandom has with it, so I'll just say: it's a wonderful new start for longtime fans, and if you've ever been Phantom-curious, it's a great place to jump in without dredging up the old show. The last dozen pages do work to set up a comic continuity unbound by the show's contentious third season, and I see a great deal of potential for more stories in that continuity. I hope we see more! I need it to feed my inner child.
I was really excited and therefore really worried for this book. I knew it was coming out quite a while ago, forgot about it, and then was totally shocked my library ordered it for the collection. Much to my relief, it respects the Danny Phantom source content immensely, to the point that I was hearing the character voices reading their dialogue to me. The style, while not DP cloned, is close enough while being still unique to the author, and the pacing and use of panels is great.
I think my favorite part of the whole book, though, is exploring the nature of ghosts themselves within the world of Danny Phantom. It humanizes the villains, which is never done in a kids' show generally, and it was done well, respecting the 'evil' of the villains while giving them depth and making you feel for them. I haven't been able to source a copy for myself just yet but once I can, I am definitely purchasing this to be re-read at my convenience.
I need three dozen more of these, please and thank you. It felt exactly like watching an episode of the show and my inner child has never been happier. 10/10 would recommend if you’re a Danny Phantom fan.
Fixes the issues with the tv series ending in a fun and satisfying way. I don't think it can really stand on its own, though; I wouldn't recommend it if you're not already familiar with the show.
not sure how I didn't know these comics existed until now?? i was completely obsessed with the tv show and these new comics pick up right where the show left off and i loved it so much! will definitely be picking up the next one.
Excellent comic. Evil Danny is as good as always. I felt so bad for the poor guy when he's crying about losing his friends and family. Vlad's redemption was quite emotional as well. I'm glad that he's going to take care of evil Danny and try to be better. Evil Danny's interaction with Jazz was great too. My only complaint is that no one knows his secret again at the end of the story, save his friends and Jazz. It's annoying when stories go back to the status quo.

Real rating is 4.5 ⭐ Had to take half a star off for the smartphone usage. Even though the first iPhone came out before S3 ended, I just don't think the social media aspects fit within Danny Phantom's continuity. It was just a little too jarring for me, personally. Wow, 2024 really has been the year of comic books for me. Had to say that all the characters were written in character, which is the biggest positive I can give this comic. Gabriela Epstein really knows Danny Phantom well and it shows here. I'm glad that a lot of familar elements from S2-3 were used in this like the Infa-map; Pariah Dark's Keep; Dark Danny being the main villain here; Clockwork having a major role, especially after his lackluster cameo in Masters of Time and Valerie's contribution to the storyline, espscially after she was mishandled and subsequently sidelined in S3. I wasn't expecting Vlad to have a redemption arc and I have to say, I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I'm glad the Vlad chapter is finally resolved. He was S3's main villain so having that here is a good thing as I did feel his arc's conclusion was somewhat incomplete in Phantom Planet. That being said, he absolutely did not deserve one after all the pain & suffering he caused throughout the series; I genuniely do hope this is the last we see of him for a while as I'm getting severe Vlad fatigue.

I really enjoyed this book, had big Danny phantom energy ! While I did enjoy it . And it was a real page turner I feel like it could’ve been been better the potential to be really dark! I mean we’re talking Dan here !
The whole thing was so good but that ending .. I wasn’t gonna do spoilers but for real I have to. For a post phantom planet story , it fell flat on the D. X. S. energy. Yea I know it’s not really for ( adults ) but seriously I doubt kids willingly wanted a parent to buy it. Don’t lie .
It could’ve went the darker tone above and beyond what T. U. E. Was ! Heated innocent sexual tension between Sam and Danny. I was looking forward to more couple energy . Kissing ! Hugging , something ! It just wasn’t there and at the end to just …go back to square 1 ! No.. that’s where the lost star came into play . I still really enjoyed it . But I suppose that’s what fan fiction is for …

Filled out a lot of my prediction bingo card with this book but no Danni?? A crime. Other than that the book was amazing. The art style is different from the show but it’s amazing and the details and show clear emotion on the characters faces and emotion is what the book is really about.
The lore about the ghost zone and confirmation that without fulfilling their ghostly purpose that they can fade or loose their humanity. I also like how they explained that with their growth that their purpose can change and mold to who they become. Ghosts are allowed to grow and change without worry of vanishing from existing because their character develops in a way that shifts away from their old purpose.

I was both excited and hesitant when going into this graphic novel. See, the thing is, I love Danny Phantom. Well, I love the concept of Danny Phantom. The TV show lacked a bit in execution, but what can you expect from a show created by the same guy who did Fairly OddParents and Jimmy Neutron? His shows were better known for the short adventures not their overarching lore; in fact, his lore is pretty jumpy. You think you get the handle on it, and then something happens and it’s like, “wait, but I thought…” This holds true for Danny Phantom as well... Read the full review here
Been a fan of the show forever, and this is perfect. Everyone is so in character, and I loved seeing Valerie in particular getting her own storyline since she was sadly neglected in the show’s finale. Love Danny and the gang as always, but standout character development surprisingly goes to Vlad! I couldn’t be happier with this. It’s an amazing continuation of the show, and I hope we get to see more like this in the future - there’s so much potential for so much more. Thank you to Gabriela Epstein for bringing the ghost boy back to life!
New content for a show that’s like 10 years old but never gets old even as I get old!? Hell yeah. This was actually a really really REALLY good story. The art was so well done and beautiful. I hope this author makes this a series because I would adore more of this
