As a magical hurricane bears down on the Crescent City, the Twisted Sisters must brave the rain and winds to hunt down the source before everyone they love is killed...
When one of their own is framed for multiple murders, the Voodoo Queen and Baron Samedi quickly, become the least of the Twisted Sisters' concerns. As Delphine's stalker grows bold, the sisters do what they can to ensure Phi's students remain safe despite the fact that the evidence suggests something far more terrifying than evil loas and mambos. Could a mundie serial killer really be on the loose?
Concerns over the return of the Skinwalker continue to grow, compounded by the mystery of a supernatural storm threatening to be the worst the city has ever seen. The search for the origins of the meteorological magic leads them below the city streets to a secret demon ward before nearly blowing them away.
Confronting those involved in the chaos challenges the sisters' desire to make friends rather than enemies, but it will take the help of every friend and ally they've ever made through the Aegis Council if they're to have any hope of saving those they love most.
In this installment of the six Twisted Sisters- someone is leaving dead bodies for Phi at places that are important to her. This leads the normal police to the sisters. Kaveh, the royal djinn, is becoming more and more part of the family now that he is with Kaitlyn, the head of the Coven of witches in NOLA. Marie Leveau and Baron Samedi and their voodoo followers as well as Dark Fae are once again bothering the Twisted Sisters and causing problems. I’m so glad the sisters have so much power, because I want them to destroy the Queen of the dead and voodoo. Because I am getting sick of how much of a problem she is as well as all of the poor dead mundane because of it! This time it’s a Hurricane that is supposed to be more powerful than Katrina. That is just freakin scary!
I like that we get to see more of the other sisters’ lives more in this book- we get to see more about Delphine (Phi) since she is being the one that is being separated out with all of the deaths. There are other supernatural problems that are falling down on their heads too. It is almost overwhelming just to read about it all. I found myself chewing on my nails a lot. I hope the kids start to gain powers too soon as they should - then they can help out at the Plantation, plus if they have powers, then they won’t have to rely on the spell that Kaveh put on them alone. He is powerful and all, but I’d feel better if everyone had powers and could turn dragon or something. Heh. But that is just me. There is so much going on with the other series too that a big crossover is coming- I can feel it.
I can’t wait for the next book! This book is keeping up with the rest of the series- it didn’t disappoint. It was awesome just like all the others.

A pretty good read in the series and the highlight for me was getting to read some of the chapters from Delphine's point of view because Dahlia and Danielle were getting kind of redundant. To me those two feel kind of like the same person except Danielle is better at some of the party stuff and Dahlia is more outspoken and ready to always stick her nose in some problem.
Again the synopsis on Cami was given which at this point utterly and totally useless, it's like the author has nothing else to say about Cami but throws this in there every single story just to say she included her. This is why I stand by my statement of Cami being a pointless character, she has all the makings of an intriguing useful one but the author is too focused on adding yet a million (I know an exaggeration) of characters every single story.
Proofreading was significantly better and I am glad there was not a new problem for this story just a continuation of previous problems.
It seems like the author is trying to do too much, like she has way too many thoughts and needs to put every single thought vomit on to the paper. She needs Delphine in real life to organize her.
The story was one of the better ones though and hopefully they continue on that track. Also again no real character development, I am astounded by that, it seems the author just focuses on the events of the story rather the characters as well.
I know you're wondering why I gave the story a 4 when I clearly have alot of negative comments and that's because the overall story was good but I would be remiss if I did not mention the issues that were present. On to book 8.
The sisters unite when Delphine is targeted by an unknown person who also threatens her sisters. Bodies are dropping everywhere and they can't seem to pin down exactly who is responsible. Is it Marie? Samedi? The skinwalker who attacked Lia? One of Phi's former students? And what about the hurricane tat is suddenly headed for New Orleans, was it magically induced and if so, why? The plantation house is filling up with family and supernatural friends as they prepare to ride out the storm. Will it keep them from preparing for the djinn baby shower that Kaveh has commissioned?
Never a dull moment for the Twisted Sisters, their spouses, and loved ones. There is time for a little hanky-panky, though. Enjoy! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Book seven. I have read phobes series that starts before this one but when she goes to new Orleans and gifts them with witch power and remove the evil from there new land (they are also fae dragons but don't know,it's suppressed if you will but whatever phobe done giving them witch magic helps wake there DNA or unlock we don't know how, all are new to the magic world) but this series starts after her visit or around the same time as her visit.in phobes series she phones them a few times and the sister visit her (don't think that's happened yet in this series) but one phone call you heard bad wind in the background. This book is the story behind that I was sad we never got to see the phone call from the sisters view.
Another WOW! These stories hook you from page 1! Full of constant on the go sisters and activities and raging hormones scattered throughout! The sisters are quite a force to be reckoned with and time after time prove themselves to be more! This time a baby shower during a hurricane is quite the feat despite all the drama going on with the Loa and Marie. These gals make me tired just reading their shenanigans! I love how everyone is "one for all and all for one" in everything they do! Each story they add someone to their family circle! Am looking forward to the next party and adventure they partake in! As if fighting evil magic in New Orleans isn't enough, the sisters find themselves also fighting a hurricane that may or may not be magical in origin. They're also having to deal with a mundane police detective since non-magicals are being targeted. In true Twisted Sister style, these ladies fight the evil, the hurricane, and the surprise villan with strength, grace, and the help of their extended family of magical beings. This was a fast-paced ride that I couldn't put down. Love these ladies and can't wait for more of their adventures.

This amazing, exciting and beautifully written story has everything you need for a spellbinding read you will be unable to put down. We have six incredible sisters, their families and friends including witches, shifters, light and dark Fae and supernaturals. They are all fighting against Baron Samedi, the Voodoo Queen and their Mambos, a Skinwalker, Demons and a massive Hurricane raised by Baron Samedi to cause chaos, destruction and power. Plus a madman butchering women.non stop action.

I wasn't as thrilled with this book as others. The ending was very weak. Spoiler ( What happened to the skin walker? The voodoo god was defeated easily? The hurricane just stopped when the voodoo god was defeated? The energy of the hurricane should have slowly abated, not disappeared. ) Yes I was disappointed in this book. Also there was no need for the graphic sex. It didn't add to the romance. It was just gratuitous sex.
The suspense builds as a hurricane is brewing and the Twisted Sisters continue to fight evil. As if preparing for a magical (?) hurricane wasn't enough: someone is killing mundanes that one of the sisters taught; and, the Twisted Sisters and their allies are battling zombies, demons, the Vodoo Queen, and Samedi.

When Lia and Dani get a call from Phi saying there is a dead woman in her chair at her office, With a skinwalker, Marie Leveau, and Baron Samedi in the mix, the Six Twisted Sisters, Kaitlyn, Kaveh, the shifters, and others, have their work cut out for them to fix the problems. This story has plenty of action and romance and even includes some steam while ending with everyone wondering what's next. Very highly recommended.
I am thinking this book was not fun fun fun the whole time. It does have a lot of fun things that happen, but it was really interesting and did include a hurricane coming and a lot of evil working at them and really pointed out how important family is. I have read seven books now and I have to say that Family is kind of the theme is the most important thing. I think that’s why I like it so much because my family is the most important thing to me too Good book.
Phoebe and the gang are back. Someone's stealing all the fairy dust and causing chaos. The characters are so relatable and the world building is so realistic. I really liked the twists and turns in the plot. I think this story definitely qualifies as a page turner. It's magnificent.

Loved this book with the nonstop action and twists galore. Brenda Trim always keeps the reader guessing to the end of the book. The characters were phenomenal as usual especially with the introduction of several new characters, and the world building just gets better with each additional book!!.

Another chaotic adventure for these incredible characters as a dark and magical storm approaches and bodies start dropping and the stalker is getting bolder. It continues to enthral and captivate as we are introduced to some new characters and are invited to a djinn baby shower. There is always something going on in this world and it’s a fantastic addition to this series!
Battling a magical hurricane along with all the other distractions keeps this story line fast-paced and action-packed for the reader. The twisted sisters always bring us an adventure to keep us reading avidly from start to finish. Grab your copy and see if they can keep everyone safe while they deal with everything going on.
Hurricanes, Heroes & Hail Marys is the seventh book in the Twisted Sisters Midlife Maelstrom series. This engaging paranormal read captured my interest from start to finish with well-depicted characters, murder, and mystery.

The Six Twisted Sisters go up against their old foe again. Much th their surprise they will find out that the supernatural community are willing to stand with them regardless of the danger. Fascinating characters and twists in the plot that keep you on the edge of your seat. I love these books and highly recommend this series.
Hurricanes, Hero’s & Hail Marys: Twisted Sisters Midlife Maelstrom (Midlife Mysteries & Magic Book 29) by Brenda Trim. Fighting the coming hurricane, the Six Twisted Sisters hunt who is murdering young people that look like Lia then manage to banish Lord Samedi resulting in the hurricane disappearing.
I simply adore this series, the sisters characters are wonderful and the storyline is well written. I can't wait to read more from this author. I received this book as a Free ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
This series just gets better and better. The Twisted Sisters can’t seem too ever have a moment of peace. Now there are dreading bodies around and the stalker is getting more bolder. The sisters will do everything they can too keep everyone they love safe.
What a book this is. It starts off with a bang and never slows down. It's a finely tuned romp through one bad situation after another. The Twisted Sisters are strong and make for an engrossing tale.

Parts of this one just seemed to be phoned in. There were sections that didn't have closure or that ended too abruptly. There was one section that just didn't make sense. I think the editing was off in the sequence. Definitely not the normal level as the other books in the series.
The story continues with the twisted sisters and their fight against a stubborn foe. Business is picking up and friends are being made.... There's nothing like family. .
Love, love this series. I find myself sitting on the edge of my seat with the.situations the sisters get involved with. All 3 connected series are like thar.
I am enthralled and feel like I am in the story watching the characters, it's hard to stop reading. I am reading the series and can't wait to get to the next book.
I have been binge reading the series, because they’re all so good. But with this one, the incredible amount of violence got to me. I stopped and read another couple of books, then came back to this one. These characters are so well written and addictive.
