Tendrils: a novella by

Rate this book
Two friends venture into the Louisiana swamps to study the plant life. Like most people, they have heard many stories of voodoo and evil spells in the swamps, but these are two educated men who dismiss such tales as no more than fantasy legends. The local man they hire as a guide warns them of evil spirits, but they pay little attention to his warnings. They soon learn however, that the swamps hold many dangers, not only from vicious creatures living there, but also from unseen forces lurking just beyond the conscious realm, and their dismissal of evil spirits in the swamp may be a big mistake. As they encounter one strange difficulty after another, they start to believe that there is some degree of truth in the legends of spirits haunting the swamps. Danger lies not only with swamp creatures, but also from plants that seem intent on attacking them. They find their psyche and mental processes deteriorating from logical thought to coping with things that they cannot comprehend or understand. When they finally realize that there is truth in the legends about evil spirits, they know that they must somehow escape from the clutches of an evil spirit. The main question is, will they make it out alive?
