"I know this isn't what you were expecting but Anne's a good kid. She's been through a lot. She could use foster parents like you and your brother."In this rendition of Anne of Green Gables, Matthew and Marilla agree to foster a young child but are surprised when twelve-year-old Anne shows up.
Will Anne ever find a place to call home? Or will she be bounced to (yet another) foster home?
"What if Matthew and Marilla send me away?"
"No way, they wouldn't."
"Wouldn't be the first time, and it's not like they even wanted me originally."
I thought these versions of Matthew and Marilla were okay, though I missed Matthew's shyness and Marilla's strictness. Both characters were smoothed out around the edges and the new mellowed versions made them seem rather similar in personality.
So maybe I don't have a sense of humor. I don't care. Please just leave me alone.
P.s. For those of you who can't resist knowing Matthew's Fate before reading a remake of Anne of Green Gables:
"I don't think I could bear it if we lost ever her. She's part of our family now."
