Her life’s a snooze-fest. His life’s falling apart. Can a bucket list give them each what they need? And also lead to love?
Accountant Emma Parker loves cats and ice cream. To turn her ho-hum life around, she’s made a bucket list of things to do before her thirtieth birthday. Emma’s plan to do the list alone is foiled when she loses her glasses and accidentally calls her grumpy new client for help.
Dirk Davidson’s life is in shambles. Still reeling from a tragic accident, he spends his days running from the past while everything around him spins further out of control. When he gets called into action to help his naïve new accountant, he sees an opportunity. And a reason to exist.
Even if Emma did want a partner, Dirk would be her last choice. But he has something she needs. And as it turns out, she has something he needs too.
Jamie recently relocated to the beautiful state of Tennessee, where she lives with her husband of 25+ years and their dog, Bella. Their wonderful, brilliant children are all grown up and out of the nest. Jamie now spends her days traveling, gardening, writing, and taking long walks in the park. She loves chocolate, dogs, and sitting on the back porch with a good book.
The books in the Parker Sisters series stand alone (but don’t miss Dealing with Kate) and this is another good read by Jamie! It’s never too late to break out of your mold and find true love. You will laugh out loud and shed a tear but you won’t put the book down til you see how this story ends. Can’t wait to read more about the Parker girls!!!
Dirk's story had me aching for his sorrow. I love how he jumps in with both feet to help Emma with her bucket list. No judgment. No questioning her reasoning beyond a willingness to ensure that she complete the list. I love that he saves her...repeatedly, and that she saves him right back.
He thinks he's given up on life and she has decided to grab her life with both hands!
Emma is tired of not living her life. So she's decided to take drastic measures. She's made a bucket list. Each task is intended to get her out of her comfort zone and possibly even expose her to new acquaintances that might help her find the man of her dreams. Heart warming, heart rending, and completely aimed at getting your heart involved in the lovely characters lives. A great read for anytime!
This is book 2 of the series. This one is even better than the first book. The MCs dialogue was fun as they completed "the List". Closed door HEA. Trigger warning: death of spouse and child
Wonderful read. I love how each character developed through the story and even teared up a few times. What a great sequel, I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
The book was okay. I liked the book about Kate, better. The author left a few things unfinished. What was the final outcome with Sabrina? What happened with Buddy and the cats? I assume they get along. Why not go back to the bar the next day after getting drunk and check for your glasses or call about the glasses?
