One kiss to change both of their lives forever...Brenna is on a mission. She wants to fulfill the prophecy a fortune teller spoke to her last Halloween. There's never been anything particularly special about Brenna, but according to this prophecy, she has power locked deep down within her, and if she has some sort of hidden power, she wants access to it. In order to activate it, she has to kiss a vampire, though.
Jasper has been roaming the earth for centuries, hoping that fate would be kind enough to grant him a mate. According to the legends, he'll know his mate the moment they kiss. His mate is supposed to be a vampire, though, so why does he find himself so drawn to this tiny little human?
Kenzie Skye writes short and spicy books with a touch of magic. Her stories are over the top and always feature obsessed heroes who will do anything for the women they love. Sign up to my newsletter on my website to get a free book.
this quick read literally solved world hunger and my throbbing headache. i love jasper. he’s the definition of she didn’t fall at all so he fell harder 🤣
This was a fun read. It was well written. I wish it was a little longer and built up the story a little more. I want to know a little more about these characters and I want more spice — it is a romance novella — make it hot! And I would like to see the FMC be older — 18 just doesn’t work for this.

The Vampire's Kiss de Kenzie Skye
Argumento:
No concuerda.
3 to 3.5 stars for me. Let me explain. Well written and engaging, I have no complaints about that. This is a short story with the potential to be a novel. I think the premise and the characters are intriguing but due to limited length, we don't get all the details we could. I'd love to see this author write this as a full length novel, with additional back stories on both characters, and some additional details around the 'captivity'. Overall an enjoyable quick read.
Brenna is looking for a vampire to kiss to unleash her power (spoiler alert, we never find out what her powers are). She’s told by a prophecy that she needed to kiss a vampire so she goes to an even where there’s a bunch of vampires on NYE to make it seem less obvious. Jasper is a vampire who sees Brenna from across the room and notices that she might be his mate because he feels an uncontrollable need to be with her and also feels jealous of the man she’s chosen to kiss at midnight. He intervenes and she ends up kissing him instead. Then he just kidnaps this chick because he doesn’t want to let her go. He tries to make her fall in love with him and it honestly works in the end. But again we never find out what her powers is. I’m assuming what she felt was the mate bond between them. That person who told her that is so wrong! So I gave it 3 stars because it was kind of a bummer. Exciting smut though! Enjoyed that part a lot!
This book was well-written and the characters were well-developed, but I lost interest when the sex scene came around. I was hoping for more of a Beauty and the Beast moment but I got dubious consent instead. I mean half way through the scene she gave her consent, but I wish it'd started with consent.
Are we going to have a bird nickname in every book she writes? Additionally, we have another kidnapping. Does she not write about anything else? There was no plot, no character development it was wham, bam, and were done. I didn't realize this was a short story until it was over. It's getting 3 stars only because the bookcover model is hot.
Love her writing and I'm hooked! I wish this was longer but it was so great it surprised me! Usually short books lack detail but not true here! Enjoy this I'm off to find another of her books!
I loved this book. It’s a novella. Finished it in an hour. It’s a bit rushed and can be predictable. Jasper is hot as hell even though what he does is arguably. Brenna is a spitfire. I wish it was longer and a continuing series. it’s worth it. If you like Twilight and The Vampire Diaries
Not used to reading steamy and spicy romances. The way they're written and the way the characters make love is truly rotten well. Wish the story didn't end as I wanted to find out more, but hey, many stories are like that. Overall, a good read
The Vampire's Kiss - Kenzie Skye (41📖) (15th July - 15th July) 3⭐️ 2🌶
The Vampire's Kiss by Kenzie Skye is about Brenna, an 18 year old human who, on Halloween, learns from a fortune teller that there is a prophecy. The prophecy says that she will come into her power after receiving a vampire's kiss. So when is the best time to kiss a vampire stranger? NYE of course. Jasper has been roaming around for centuries to find his mate. He knows that after a kiss, he will just know. He spots a beautiful human at a NYE party and sees her edging closer and closer to another vampire. What will he do?
This book felt a bit flat and average really. I was expecting a lot more in relation to spice, character background and their future relationship. It felt like it was a snippet as opposed to a full story about these two. The writing and the style is good, it was just very much felt lacking. It felt like it should've been a novel rather than a novella. There just wasn't enough information. Not sure this is one I would recommend.
Honestly this novella has potential but it has it's issues. Brenna is kidnapped by the vampire Jasper but then there is such a rush because it's a novella so we don't learn important things like why is Brenna different? She turned without being in pain or taking his blood? Is there something about her parents we need to learn as a reason for her difference? How does she get kidnapped for an undetermined amount of time and Olga and Olga's parents not mention anything or look for her? Also how does she know vampires and werewolves exist? Is this set in a place where people know of their existence or did Olga's family tell her about their existence? There is so much left unexplained that it took the enjoyment out of the story for me.
Then Breanna changes and we have no follow up (at least in this story) will there be further novellas or even a full book to clarify everything? To see what happens now she is a vampire? So much feels unsaid to finish it there.
Finally there was one inconsistency that I spotted and bugged me. Jasper rips her panties off and intimately kisses her then the next page he rips her dress and panties off again so was she wearing multiple pairs?
This has the potential to be a story that can run as a series and will keep readers coming back for more. With readers loving the two characters and building a whole world around them, as well as adding future characters that can be developed into stories of their own. However this story screams to be a full book because as a novella it feels more like a teaser and leaves the reader feeling a bit short-changed.

- captor/captive - fated mates - age-gap (18 & centuries old but looks in his 30s) (mentions how "little" she is many times) - vampires
When Brenna receives a prophecy that tells her that she needs a vampire's kiss to awaken her powers, she decides to attend a vampire ball on New Years' Eve to quickly find one to kiss. I wish this novella was longer. The story would benefit from having more information about the world, I'm very curious as to how it works with vampires being known and potentially the humans that can unlock powers. Additionally, I wish there was more about the captivity, I want to see Brenna slowly fall for Jasper, and get to know a different side to him (and what made her fall for him). Most of the interactions felt quite rapey to me, but I appreciated that he at least made sure she verbally consented before the Act I guess.
This novella was fine, but a bit cringe. A fun time nonetheless. I would read a longer/reworked version of this story if it was available.
This was an enjoyable (very) short read. Very predictable in so many ways - the girl was absolutely gorgeous, the vampire was drop-dead gorgeous, the sex was amazing - not a bad thing if this is what you are looking for. However, it was too 'nice' for me, no real tension aside from when the vampire will 'take' her, for there is no doubt that he will. Could be more interesting as a full novel with back stories and some type of quest. I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author via Voracious Readers Only.
This book is recommended for readers 18+ due to adult content.
I was hoping for a bit of a BatB take where the heroine falls for the hero bit by bit, however what I got was her resisting up to the sex scene. To me it came off as more than a little rapy. She's told him know the entire time until he loses control and now she's a willing and enthusiastic participant. It could have been a cute story. It fell flat for me.

This book is a novella but can also be part of a series. Brenna goes to a ball where there is a mix of vampires and humans. She has been told by a fortune teller that she has a power inside her that can be unlocked by a vampires kiss. Jasper has been looking for a mate for centuries and spots Brenna at the ball and wants to claim her as his. This novella was a quick and interesting read that can be read in one sitting. I really enjoyed it.
This was a short story and there is potential it could be a full novel. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it was a full novel because there would be details. There were a few parts I thought was cringey. Usually I don’t have a problem with an age gap but this one I thought was a little disturbing. I think I would give this author another chance if I was to read a full novel by the author.

A steamy short read
I hadn’t realized that this was a novella until I reached the end, so I was a little surprised to have reached it so quickly. With that being said, I think that the writing was great, and the story had a good plot-line for what it was. However, it felt extremely short to me, in a way where I didn’t have time to connect to the characters. I would love it this were extended!
Thnx for a free copy of The Vampire’s Kiss by Kenzie Skye. I found it a little bit wanting. I would have like to read more on d heroines insights on why he fell in love with the vampire. I thought it centered too much on sex.. I’d like to see more of her value as a fierce and independent woman and how her hero value her more as a partner to be. Just a thought...
This was a really sweet Vampire Romance. A short story perfect to while away an hour this morning. I wouldn't want to pay more than a couple of pounds for it though as it really is short and sweet.
Brenna goes looking for trouble at a vampire ball all because of a prophecy, but instead finds her mate who kidnaps her.
An entertaining short story. Well written with a good plot, characters and some steamy scenes at the end. I received a complimentary copy from Voracious reader and am leaving a honest voluntary review
Super fast one sitting read, With a ton of potential. A bit too short to develop the characters or their charisma fully. Very interested to see what a fully filled out novel by this author would look like!
I received a free copy from Voracious Readers Only.
I enjoyed this short novel. I’m not a fan of cursing and there were a lot of words used that I don’t like but I can live with that. The characters were interesting and I liked the interactions.
