Nick’s gift has kept him at arm’s length from a lover for more years than he can count. He hungers for more, but he’ll likely never be able to have a family with his chosen alpha, seeing as he’s never gone into heat before. His best friend, fellow forsaken omega Pierce, covenmaster of the Nevada Forsaken, found his mate and had three pups, which is a welcome distraction from the ache and loneliness he feels. But without a pup in his arms or something to do, he grows lonelier by the day. Especially since Lance, their youngest, is taken with the pups and their new omega, Mark.

Davies Mallory lost his wife ten years ago, a young shifter swept away by his heart, even though his fox said she wasn’t his one. Mallory allies himself with the Nevada Forsaken, living off of Pierce’s dreams to fill the gaps between his heart and the world, but there’s one problem, a certain vampire omega that he should have nothing to do with keeps popping up in his dreams, and his inner fox keeps sniffing Nick out. Can Mallory figure everything out before tragedy strikes, and are they meant to be, or will they just pass one another by.

Nick Him Tenderly is the second book in Lilo Quie’s highly anticipated series, Forsaken Few: Omegas of Club Despair. It is a sweet with knotty heat mpreg romance full of second chances, first discoveries, uncovered secrets, an adorable baby in a tiny fox suit, true love, fated mates, and a guaranteed happy ever after.

3.6 stars. Knowing what foxes sound like made this book so much more enjoyable. Very fluffy and cute but I didn't connect with the story of this book quite as much as the last.

I really enjoyed this book and this series is very interesting. From the puns in the titles of the books to the story, characters, plot and more everything fits together so well. There is quite a bit of background story that comes out slowly in these books and it slowly gives a fascinating insight into what has happened in these omegas lives. Omega Nick and Alpha veterinarian Davies are the focus of this book and some of the timeline overlaps the first book which is actually fun because you get to see the same events from a different perspective. I do hope that this series continues and we get to learn more about the problems between shifters, vampires and humans as well as alphas and omegas.
You can read this book on its own but it’s much better read in order.

Another vampire omega finds his mate and his true self too

I loved Pierce Him Gently with its complex worldbuilding, sympathetic characters, great story and lots of emotion. Pierce and his fellow omega vampires, Nick and Lance, completely captured my heart.
Nick's story starts with the events of Pierce Him Gently but seen from both Nick's and Mallory's POV. I'm not a big fan of repeating the events of a previous book like that, although it had some merit, but I wish that part of the book had been over quicker.
Mallory lost his mate and has been pining for years, even though his fox knew she wasn't his fated mate. Instead of moving on, he wastes his time on dreams about her, when his fated mate is right in front of him.
Nick's history is horrible, but he is busy with his work and happy to have Pierce and Lance in his life. Seeing Mallory all the time just makes him long even more for everything he can never have.
The main reason I've only given this book three stars is that Mallory drove me nuts. His fox kept nudging him towards Nick but all he did was wallow in the loss of his mate and made Nick feel less than, not good enough. Mallory's to-ing and fro-ing was infuriating and, considering he had Pierce figured out very quickly, his inability to realise what was happening to Nick was not credible.
That aside, I loved the story and all the other characters. Lance was especially wonderful this time and his book is next.

If you have read the first book in this series, Pierce him Gently, then you already know Mallory and Nick. You will also know they had something going on during the time Pierce and Timber got together. Now we get their entire story, and it is one that will not disappoint. It gives us the backstory for both of them and Nick's is as interesting, if not more so, than Pierce's. Most of Mallory's story was delivered in the first book, but here we get to meet and learn more about his family too. The story unfolds alongside that of Pierce and Timber so there is some overlap of the first book in this one though it is minimal. It keeps you apprised of when this began and how it developed, somewhat slower, along with P & T.
It is such a good story, as they both come to terms with saying goodbye to their past in order to welcome their future together. This is a bit harder for Mallory having lost his first love, but Nick has his issues too. There is also a cameo from Yriel! This happens around the time he ousted the scum that turned Pierce. You will not want to miss this little cameo because it is enlightening to stay the least. Lance is also prominent as you would guess due to his closeness to Nick. There may be more of a tease on his story in this one than there was in Pierce him Gently.

Mallory lost his wife so Nick was helping him get relief in his dreams and Mallory’s fox wanted Nick. Nick felt really lonely after his best friend found his mate and had 3 pups. Things got worked out for Nick and Mallory took some time but was ok. Good book!.

This was a cute story with some knotty scenes and drama. It is well written and the storyline was easily followable. Nick and Mallory formed an odd bond. They both had a past that was hard to get over. Together they did and ended up being mates. I recommend this book.

I enjoy this author's writing style as I am easily pulled into the story. The characters are multifaceted and working to overcome their trauma. I wish the story was longer as I wasn't ready for the story to end. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

I’m not a big fan of vampire stories but I did enjoy this one. It took me awhile to get into the story but the characters drew me in and before I knew it I was hooked and I needed to know what was happening to the very end. Nick is a vampire who is friends with Mallory Who is a fox shifter but also a veterinarian.

Their friendship grows until they can no longer deny that they have feelings for each other, slowly Nick loses the smell of vampire instead begins to smell more like fox. Nick wants Mallory to bite him and claim him as a mate, Mallorys Fox wants to clean him but he’s not ready yet, over time these two finally except that they are for each other after some drama, they have a happily ever after.

Oh I loved this book!!!

Nick was already an interesting character in book 1 but now... he's just so sweet and so refreshing to see him get closer to the one he's attracted to and how they fall but try to keep things under control... as if. And of course his past is treated in a respectful in way in how it's there and it colors how he loves Mallory, how he goes about mating him, how he deals with the idea of being barren or pregnant.

Mallory, I have never loved a fox shifter more in my life! Most canine shifters are depicted as either very alpha I take care of what's mine or very alpha I don't want anyone to have to take care of but Mallory is a weird mixture of these two, because of how he involves himself with the Forsaken and how he cares about Nick. Not to mention his fox is SO HECKING CUTE!!! Belly scritches... *___*

Then of course there's more intrigue, more twists, more world building that I wish I could get to see more. It's interesting because many would consider smut to be low on the worldbuilding but Lilo Quie has managed a good balance between plot, smut and world building also building up and up this world on the other side of the Despair Club that grows bigger, badder, creepier and scary-er.

Without giving anything away there's so much healing and glimpses of how there's a future, not only for the Nevada Forsaken but also for shifters and vampire shifters, and how new life also brings hope for those lives already branded by their horrible pasts. It's so... beautiful... it made me cry. Not a crier, really, but this one did it.

All in all I give it a 4.5 stars. Totally worth it... and I'm more convinced now that this author is unique in their writing but definitely good at it. I can't wait to get started on book 3.

Second book after Pierce Him Gently. Much of this story takes place at the same time as the first and it can be a bit annoying at times, but it's also great to see some things from the other side.

Our MCs are vampire omega Nick, Pierce's second in command in the Forsaken coven, and Mallory, vet and the designated doctor for the coven. Mallory still misses his deceased wife, and Pierce, talented dreamweaver that he is, gives him sweet dreams about her once a week in exchange for his services

Nick is the administrator and accountant of both the club and the coven, and a shrewd investor who takes good care of their money. He is close friends with Mallory, and they spend a lot of time together, often being really silly - which is good for Nick, who is still plagued by memories of his old life. Mallory's is a fox shifter, and his grumbly and sweet inner fox thinks things like Friend is busy! Want belly scritches! and Want breed mate now. Snuggles. Belly scritches.

The two men soon move on to being friends with benefits, but can they ever be more? And what about Mallory's wife? She's been gone for ten years, but is that long enough?

This is the second book in the series and has an extensive overlap with book 1 ' Piercing him Gently' but that part is told from Mallory and Nick their POVs. So we meet many of the characters throughout the story.

Nick and Mallory, a fox shifter alpha, take a long time to come ogether, especially since Mallory retreats and creates distance when things seem to go really well. However he gets his act together and his mate Nick, turns out to be swift fox omegabefore he was turned. They get cute fox kits with memorable names.

I find it interesting that the vampire omegas can return to their birth form after being mated. I am looking forward to see how the world build progresses further. New and extended information is given and I am wondering what will happen next in de overall storyline. What will happen with the vampires, other skulks and packs. And how where the vampires able to get so many of the omegas of the other species and turn them? Will there be consequences or answers?

But most of all I love to know who will be Lance his mate, will it ve Oren? am curiuous to see if we get more information?

I really enjoyed reading Nick's story. I loved him in the first book, with his snarky humor and clever financial mind. I loved the way he handled the fox councilor, and the slow-burn relationship with Mallory was gruff but at the same time sweet. What I didn't like [POTENTIAL SPOILER] was the attempt to generate angst with the hunter and the possible assassination attempt (? not sure if that's what it was). There was no resolution or clarity for that or the counselor's involvement, so it seemed pointless and unnecessary. [END SPOILER.] My opinion on Yriel also changed. I liked the way he came in and supported the omega trio in Pierce's book, but I liked him less after finding out the part he played in Nick's past. I won't spoil it, but I wonder if he had some involvement in Nick's mistreatment. Still, I love the series and the vampire (or not) omegas, and I hope the next book will be about Dante/Lance.

Book 2 without a doubt (I think) was a bit better than Book 1. The dialogue/passages didn't leave me so lost like before...definitely understanding the flightiness and its very entertaining. I like how the author intertwined the events from Book 1 with Book 2...we see how Nick and Davies were close and friendship grew. Had a little background on both their past. I had so many feels for both guys...tragic past events but you see they are drawn to each other... both lost but their fox bond is strong. Ultimately their friendship grew to love, then a mated pair, then parents (those kits were cute). We are getting to know the forsaken omegas more and new characters are being introduced. Love how this series is playing out and can't wait to read Book 3 with Lance.

The second in this series is just as intense and emotional as the first. Nick and Davies are so sweet together even though they both have issues they were able to overcome them. Davies lost his wife to cancer and he lives through dreams to be with her. Nick has a gift that keeps him from getting close to someone. Nick and Davies have been dancing around each other for years and the more they get to know each other the more they want to be with other. Nick is a vampire and Davies is a fox. The book is sweet, funny, and romantic, and I enjoyed it from start to finish. The trust that Nick and Lance have with each other is innocent and sweet and I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Davies is a fox shifter and a vet who was devastated by grief years ago when his wife died. He has allied himself with the Forsaken Coven because Julian's dream abilities make him feel like he can still feel his wife in his dreams. Meanwhile another vampire omega keeps catching his eye. Davies and Nick are friends but they could be more if Davies can get by his grief. When Julian mates an alpha wolf things get crazy. Davies starts to realize that something very strange is going on with Julian. When he and Nick get closer and he starts feeling the same things, he realizes that what everyone always thought might be wrong.

I loved this book. I was enthralled by the first one. I thought the dynamic between the vampires and shifters was really unique, so I was very excited to get my hands on book two. Great world building. The characters were wonderful. We were introduced to them in book one, but here is where their story takes off and we really delve into who they are. I loved watching Nick and Mallory's relationship deepen and strengthen. I really loved both characters and seeing them bond and fall in love was such a treat! 5 stars.

It good to be open to new ideas. Mallory, lost, Rebecca 10 years ago. He thought he would be alone. His fox, however knew she was not his mate. Mallory, was given Wednesdays to dreamscape his Rebecca. He knew he was attracted to Nick, the vampire. The author, did a nice job letting these men relax and find their path. Nice character development. Good friends and found family. Good story flow. Lots of cute surprises. Great follow up to the first story. Nicely done. Wonderful

Wonderful second book in the series. This time it's fox shifter Davies Mallory discovering his best friend, the vampire Nick, is his mate. Can a veterinarian and an accountant work... you bet!

KU, paranormal, book in a series, age gap, mpreg, mates, fox shifters, veterinarian, accountant, babies!

As I hoped the world is fleshing out, we are getting to know the characteristics of the mystical creatures and we have a plot that’s unearthing as we go along……the omega vampires seem not to be what we expect. Yriel is someone I want to know more about. We had some angst but it was resolved and explained, off to the next one!

This is a paranormal romance novel with mpreg, the second book in a series that must be read in order. This story overlaps with the first book but from Nick and Mallory’s pov. Nick has a special friendship with Mallory but what happens when Nick wants more? The overarching story continues and is fire! recommend this to those who love paranormal stories.

This was cute, a bit more confusing than the first book and I feel like Lance really stole the show towards the end. Mallory kind of faded to the background after the mating and I would have liked to see him more present in the conclusion.
