In this book, Jason Holt continues his ongoing exploration of the scope of articulate meaning, with poems no less about the language itself than the subject matter. With tones ranging from somber meditation on his father’s death to playful engagement with common idioms and well-known works of literature, Holt’s characteristic style is here in high gear. Jason Holt lives in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada with his wife Megan and their cats Ruby and Jasper. He is Professor of Kinesiology at Acadia University, where his research interests include aesthetics, philosophy of sport, and philosophy and popular culture. With over fifty essays published in numerous journals and anthologies, he is also the author of many books, most recently the scholarly Kinetic The Philosophical Aesthetics of Sport (Routledge, 2020) and the literary Fledges and Phraselings (Anaphora, 2019).
