Two thousand years ago, I ruled the Underworld, now I can't even get a decent cup of coffee in this crappy little town...
As a former Goddess, Persephone is the last of her kind. Doomed to wander the Earth after the other Gods fell, she is just trying to get by. But when an old frenemy shows up and bodies start dropping, it looks like her quiet life is a thing of the past.
An old rival could hold the key to her future...
Eris is searching for an object that will help her to raise a God from the dead. She has her heart set on Ares, but Persephone knows if she can get to it first, she might have a shot at resurrecting her husband, Hades. Desperate to be reunited, she goes head to head against her, while trying to avoid the attention of local cop, Dan Clark.
She has one chance...
With time running out, Persephone is in a race against time to figure out the clues and find the object. Reunited with her beloved Cerberus, Persphone will stop at nothing to get her husband back, because if there is a chance in hell that she can raise Hades, she's going to take it.
An introduction to the Gods of Chaos Series to be read before books 1-4.

This was such a fun little read! You won't be shocked to hear that the author had my full interest when I read the name Persephone in the blurb. I'm here for al the mythology, and this was a great if sad take on it (or sad to me, anyway - my little witch heart was sad to know that all the other gods are dead in this one and that she can't return to the Underworld)
This was my first read by S.K. Gregory, so I didn't know what to expect. I love the voice, which was so easy to follow and fall into. I was fully invested pretty much instantly.
The story moves between the present day and Persephone's memories of the days of yore, which added a nostalgic touch with sad undertones.
Look, if you love mythology and an engaging writing voice, there's no reason not to read this. It's a short story, so it's not exactly a big time investment. Just read it already - you'll have a great 45 minutes or so!
This was a very well written short story. It is the prequel to the Gods of Chaos series. First time I have read anything by this author. Going by the example of this story It won't be the last either. I am very intrigued by this story so far. Like most people I love a good Persephone and Hades story. This is an intriguing take on that story.
Hades is dead and Persephone has possibly found a way to bring him back if she can find everything that she needs... including her husbands body. I can't wait to dive into the next book to see what happens. I'm sure this is going to be no easy task for Persephone. I can't wait to see how she will solve all the problems she is bound to face in her journey.
This is a great introduction to the Gods of Chaos series. Persephone is an intriguing character and she is sure to face all manner of supernatural challenges as she grapples with her new, and slightly less glamorous life. From all indications, this is shaping up to be a great series.
Romance genre: Mythology Part of a series: Yes (Gods of Chaos) Length: 26 pages
Plot: Surprisingly, a lot happened in a very short book, which wasn't really a book, but more like a short story prequel. Persephone is no longer in the Underworld. The realm of the gods, and the gods themselves have been destroyed. Hades, whom she had come to love is gone, and she's been in the mortal realm for centuries now. All of a sudden though, Cerberus shows up, soon followed by Eris, who is not there to catch up and make friends.
Character development: Persephone was an interesting character - complex and regretful. I'm just sure that Clark has something to do with all of this, but I don't think he knows it yet.
Would I read more from this author/in this series: probably - I wonder now how the story ends! Next book in the seriesRaising Hell: Gods of Chaos Book 1
The Greek Gods were killed millennia ago, but many of the lesser beings are still alive. Persephone is in a small town, eating at a diner, when a hunter comes in raving about a monster in the woods.
This is a super short novella that sets up the Gods of Chaos series. There's a decent amount going on for such a short book, but this isn't a standalone. The concept is awesome, and I'm excited to read more in the series.
A Chance in Hell is an engaging story about the goddess Persephone. She is that lady of her kind. The gods have fallen and the world is without them. However, hiding in the shadows is a plot almost as sinister as the one that destroyed the Olympians.
This is a short story that takes place before a series. It left me wanting more enough that I turned around and bought the first book as soon as I finished reading this one.
If you’re a fan of Greek mythology, this is a must read. It even had the underworld’s resident three-headed pup.
A straightforward story prequel, flashbacks make it a bit hard to follow, love interests seem marginal in this story, and immortality seems to be a prize but not much desired. Obtained for free from Amazon on February 12, 2023.
This is my first time reading a retelling of mythical fiction of the Goddess Persephone. Loved it! Such an adorable read. Looking forward to reading more.
