Moravian Miracle: The 100 Year Prayer Meeting That Changed the World

by Dr Jason Hubbard

The prayers of humble believers change the course of history. A band of ragtag worshippers discovered this truth in 18th-century rural Germany, launching a 100-year prayer meeting that birthed the modern missionary movement. Often overlooked, the story of the Moravians comes to life in this incisive, devotional account. Moravian Miracle will fix your gaze on the glorious, conquering Lamb who is now gathering his church for one final prayer-saturated harvest of souls.

“This is fascinating and deeply motivating.”—Rick Warren, The Purpose Driven Life

The Moravian story is incredible. A band of ragtag Jesus followers in a small corner of Germany in the 18th century that ignited a global prayer and missionary movement and which influenced John Wesley, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and William Wilberforce among others.

Great little book! May God grant us another Moravian Miracle!

He doesn’t mention “the Sifting Time,” which is a stain on Zinzendorf and the Moravian legacy, but nonetheless what a story! May God do it again!

Excellent Reading

Thank you for retelling the details of God’s sovereign work through a significant time in human history. I can easily imagine the Lord breathing new life and reliving many of these elements as we prepare for Christ second coming and the final harvest of many hearts in all nations. Amen!

I can’t believe I had never read about this story before. The Moravians were devoted to pure prayer and worship without ceasing. Their love for the Lamb of God and determination to preach Christ and Christ crucified has paved the way for so many missionaries. Definitely recommend reading about this story!

Powerfully Moving!

Concise and impactful! This must be one of the best books I’ve read, ever. It is well-written, deeply spiritual, and the story of the Moravians it tells should be told far and wide. I want to give copies to anyone who’s willing to read it!

This book was kind of…bland. There were also many times I had to stop and go look up something that was not explained well or skipped over.

I enjoyed and was spurred on more by reading the children’s book, “Count Zinzendorf: Firstfruit.”

Great book about the beginning of global missions. Excited to see how this book inspires the church
