Cookbooks are not something you read in full all at once, so I'm marking this as read just so I can give it the 5 stars.

I looked through the recipes and read a few to see if it was the stuff I was looking for: something pretty and whimsical to use when hanging out with the prettiest ladies in the world (my friends) while we do very important things (picnics).

It is.

One of the many benefits of writing a book is that you get to leave yourself a five-star review on Goodreads 😌

This was a cute, simple read with easily executable ideas and recipes. The illustrations are adorable and cozy, and it's great for beginners looking to incorporate some personalized, self-made magic into their lives. I will say I was a bit surprised there wasn't a section on simmer pots! They're so versatile and beginner friendly, and what I consider a kitchen witchery basic, so I think that was a big missed opportunity.

This is purely a recipe book but definitely worth reading. Imagine my surprise when I found the recipe for pansy fog tea after just seeing it as a pin on Pinterest only a few days before. Someone had made it and took a photo that looked just like the illustration in the book. I took it as strong confirmation that I was supposed to find this book

Cute little book with a number of recipes which I will copy and save. Although this is one I borrowed from the library, I might go out and buy it.

The recipes are really good, but I also learned a lot about folklore in this book.
Plus the illustrations are amazing.
