Centuries ago, my husband, Hades stripped me of my Goddess powers and told me to run. Like a fool, I listened and I've been alone ever since...
When blast from the past, Eris showed up in Bedford, Persephone's shot at a normal life vanished. Now she has a new goal in mind - find the magical object that could potentially raise Hades. The trouble is she has no idea where to start.
An uneasy alliance...
Teaming up with local deputy, Dan Clark, Persephone uses him to learn more about the town and its residents. If one of them is hiding the magical object, she will do anything to get her hands on it. But Bedford isn't as normal as it seems. The more she uncovers, the more questions she has and one secret shakes her to her core. Who can she trust?
One thing is for sure, small town life is no longer boring. Time for Persephone to raise a little hell.

This was ok. It took a little to get into the story. I think I just expected more from the first book in a series called "Gods of Chaos". More Gods, more chaos, more something. I may or may not read the next book at some point.
After thousands of years, Persephone has settled in a small U.S. nowhere town. With only Cerebus as company, Persephone attempts to "settle in" as a mere mortal. But strange things are happening. Whispers of a cult, a demon attack, dreams of her lost husband Hades... It's time for Persephone to kick b*tt and get some answers...now!
Fast paced and intense, this story leaves you wanting more!
I was given an ARC of A Chance in Hell which is an introduction to Persephone's story. I love Greek mythology and I love the way the author has given her own spin on things. Persephone was not born a Goddess, she was made into one by Hades, but when all the Gods were killed by the God killer, Hades stripped Persephone of her powers to save her. She still lives for a really long time though and is now alive in modern day Bedford. I like how stubborn the character is. She keeps going even though half the time she doesn't know what she is doing. I definitely want to read more.
I do believe I’ve found a new favorite series. If you were a fan of Percy Jackson as a kid, this series is perfect for you. The gods are dead. Only Persephone remains. Hades had hoped to save her from the god killer but thousands or years later her past catches up with her.
Persephone and Hades are my favorite Greek gods and to see Persephone portrayed in an urban fantasy tale as a modern femme fatale is a dream come true. She is bad ass. This goddess may be a target of the god killer but there is no way she’s going down without a fight.
