Ryder
An injury to my knee ends my career as a Navy SEAL and sends me to the one place I never wanted to step foot in again – home.
The moment I step foot in Virginia Beach, my life takes a crazy twist. A new job, a daughter I never knew about. Being a father is tougher than any mission I’ve ever been on.
That’s when I enlist the help of a nanny.
Only the new nanny is also the woman I had a one night stand with and escaped in the middle of the night.

Ember
In order to escape my controlling ex, I have to give up everything. My home, my music career – my life.
Virginia Beach – here I come.
It seems like the perfect place to start over.
And the job ad for a live-in nanny? Exactly what I need to help me do it.
If only my new boss wasn’t the guy I had a one night stand with. The one I haven’t been able to stop thinking about since then.
For the sake of his daughter, we put a kibosh on our desires and remain strictly professional.
The sexual tension between us is undeniable, but for the sake of his daughter we do our best to keep it under wraps.
There is only so much a person can take though.

Will they be able to keep their attraction at bay? Or will tense moments turn into heated nights?

L.M. Reid writes contemporary romance that is filled with emotion and a whole lot of steam. Her heroines are strong and feisty, and her heroes are sweet and sexy.

L.M. loved reading as a child and really fell in love with books while reading the Babysitter’s Club. The series spurred her love of writing leading her to create her own series as a kid – “Best Friend’s Forever.”

Growing up watching soap operas, L.M. has always had a flair for the dramatic and a love of all things romance.

She is just a Midwest girl with simple tastes and dirty thoughts.

She lives in the state where they swear there is more than corn, with her husband and son. She’s an iced coffee addict and loves Swedish Fish. While her heart belongs to romance, she loves curling up on the couch with a good, or bad, horror movie.

Universal

Ryder's out of the SEALs thanks to a newly discovered degenerative disease. But it doesn't mean his life is over, does it? No. Especially when he finds out he has a daughter. But now he needs help with that beautiful little girl he's just found. But what to do when the nanny turns out to be the ons he hasn't stopped thinking about? Does he give in to their intense chemistry? Or for the sake of his daughter, try to keep it professional?

Ember came to this small town to start over and get away from a life she feared. She did not come here to find love or a relationship, but she's not sure she can resist Ryder for much longer. The chemistry they have is is so hot that it doesn't seem to matter that she's here to be the nanny to his little girl. But when the very thing she was running from comes back to threaten her, Ryder just may be the exact right person to protect her. And she may find this new life is exactly what and who she really wants, and not the bright lights of Nashville.

The is a good addition to The Salvation Society. Ryder and Ember are a great couple once they get past their initial objections. And Ryder is the kind of alpha I like best - commanding and tough but with a big heart. Really the only problem I had with this story is a nitpicky detail, Ryder is a former Navy SEAL (as in Sea Air Land), not a Seal (as in an animal). If you're going to write about a SEAL, please get his designation correct!

Ryder never thought his life would end up like it is. He thought he would be a SEAL forever, but a knee injury has taken him out of the game. He didn't want to put anyone in jeopardy so he did what he thought was best. Now he has to face his past and go home again. The memories of there are painful and full of resentment. Ember is a beautiful woman who has the voice of an angel. She is also in a relationship that is destroying her piece by piece. When she runs she has the help of those that love her. Now her new life brings her somewhat joy. However, she doesn't expect to meet Ryder. Ryder has been tasked now with keeping an eye on her. These two have chemistry for sure, but it's so much more than that. When truths are revealed and danger is in the shadows it will be up to Ryder to save her before it's too late.

beautiful story

Acceptance was a beautiful story of resilience and opening up your heart after trauma. I loved how much struggle was involved and how many obstacles they needed to overcome to get to their HEA. It was tough but so relatable. Amazing job.

Well, this is going to seem petty as hell, but whatever. People DNF and not read books for less.

“I was recently discharged from the military. I was a Navy Seal for years, and now I work for a security company.

Why do authors write about Navy SEALs if they can't even be bothered to refer to them properly? It's SEAL (or SEALs) not Seal or Seals. They're not animals. There is a major difference between "Seal" and "SEAL" and authors (this one is not the only one) need to learn the difference!

SEAL is an acronym and stands for:
"The United States Navy Sea, Air, and Land (SEAL) Teams, commonly known as Navy SEALs"

It is always capitalized. The most basic of a Google will uncover this fact! And if author's can't get this right it kills the mood and I can't get into the story. It's a major pet peeve of mine and I just can't overlook it when it's constantly misused. Sorry.

Ryder is working to heal from physical wounds and also emotional wounds from his past. He is about to get a surprise they will forever change his life. Ember is ready for a new start and to get out of an abusive relationship. She just needs someone to give her a chance. Ryder and Ember have an instant attraction that leads to a great friendship/working relationship. As much as they try to keep their distance..it’s impossible. They have great passion, are one another confidants and have Amelia’s (Ryder’s daughter) best interest in mind. The past comes back for both of them and the true test is how they weather the storm.

I was new to this author but definitely not to the Salvation Society series. This Ryders and Ember’s story. This was a good addition to such amazing books that are already a part of the series. It was sweet and it had enough to keep me guessing on what would happen next to keep me reading.I absolutely love that we get to see glimpses of some of my favorite men like Mark and Jackson from previous books. I loved the connection they had. It was a good book not and a good addition to the rest and would recommend.

This is the first book I've read by the author and I enjoyed it. Ryder and Ember’s story is pretty sweet. And I loved the intense chemistry between the two of them. You know they can't resist each other for long. I loved both of their characters and their story is well-written.

Awe

I thought this story was well written. What I thought would be a little corny, ended up being great! (He falls for the nanny!)
