Lukas, Sometimes

Rate this book
A slow burn billionaire romance with a touch of angst, a hint of forced proximity, and a whole lot of heat.

LILY
There once was a prince, in a bungalow by the sea…
He’s the ocean roaring into my life, an ocean whose depths I can’t resist even though I must. I want him, but I’m not supposed to want more . And yet, when I look at him, this damaged artist, this kindred soul who paints my dark world with his laughter and his pain, I want to give in…But I can’t, not when I’m not the one he sees, not when doing so would mean losing my voice all over again.

There once was a prince, in a bungalow by the sea.
But he's not my prince; he never was for me.

LUKAS
Along came a pixie, in a faded hoodie…
She’s the wave crashing through my world, the wave that brought me to my knees and threatens to sweep me under. I want her, but I’m not supposed to want more . And yet, when I look at her, this paperbag princess, this impossible minx who dances her way into my dark, I start to lose control... But I can’t, not when I have nothing left to give, not when doing so would mean digging into the wounds of my past all over again.

Along came a pixie, in a faded hoodie.
Just a minx, a pixie… and she’s all that I see.

The ART OF SINNERS Series... An exquisite fall from grace.

Tempest Phan wrote a book that cracked my heart wide open, to give love after you thought it was lost. To be seen, and to unite on a beach, their rock, their road, because our past is our ghost, our journey, our way. I love that two people who are both grieving, both maybe who feel at a standstill, who feel alone, were brought together. Fate stepped in and put them at the same time and place, but it’s up to them, Lukas & Lily to take and give.

“There once was a prince in a bungalow by the sea…Along came a pixie in a faded hoodie…”

Lily I won’t ever forget her character, her spirit is too strong. A ballerina, who is so close and yet so far away from her dreams.

Her family background, the Vietnamese culture, her Ba’s resilience lives in her. The Silk Road, the journey of choices, decisions, of rising above. It’s unforgettable. Even now I feel emotional, of getting so close, many would have felt like they lost in life, when they did, to use that hurt to still have a heart. Whew 😥 That, is what it takes to get your happiness.

Faded hoodie, white forelock, can wrap her legs around a pole, but all you see is her talent. She was so unafraid of herself. And Lukas loved it all.

Lukas, I have loved you and fell even more for you. Lily is your soul mate. I thank you for not wanting to change Lily, you took care of her, and yes, you took her out fancy style, aha, but if she wanted to live in that faded hoodie and checkered vans, then that was that. She shone brighter than any diamond. Lukas is prestigious. His name is recognized, his father and his family. Sexy in a suit, an Englishman, and an incredible lawyer. With so much going for him, he was left humiliated and in grief stays at his bungalow on his private beach, to surf and smoke. Golden good looks, but dark lies just below the surface. His tattoos paint him well, and his art paints his story of grief and beauty. I mean I loved his ego….both egos. Aha 😮‍💨

Lily was the best thing to ever show up on your private beach. Her journey grabbed your heart, and when you shared your past how the plot thickened.

What I loved the most was that both characters to their core were who they were. That they weren’t suppose to change for their world, or the life they were going to make for themselves, together. But instead it was more about how to respond to a world that was taking too much from you. And damn, but how they both rose above it!

OMG, I am still choked up from Luca’s story. I knew we are good to get another heart wrenching story but I didn’t expect anything like this. Once again this author nailed it and I’m pretty sure that I will be reading this story over and over again.

Lucas and Lily were two broken souls who found peace in each other but with that they also had to make some compromise. Specially Lucas who was still trying to get over Bella who he believed she was his one and only love, the one who broke him to no repair.

Lucas and Lily were perfect for each other and I just couldn’t get enough of them. I wish the story was longer because i never wanted it to end.

This is absolutely beautiful story that will melt your heart and I would definitely highly recommend it ❤️

If you've read Damien, Forever (and if you haven't, then what are you waiting for?!), then you'll recognize billionaire lawyer, Lukas. Since leaving Damien's world, I've been anxiously awaiting Lukas's story.

Now, I have to admit that I was not Lukas's biggest fan in Damien's book although my heart did break for him. For much of Lukas's book, I was still unsure how to feel about him. His is a complex story though and there is more to it than meets the eye. I was intrigued (and a little worried) about what was about to unfold, and it kept me turning the pages. I loved our heroine Lily and her story broke my heart at times. I definitely fell more for Lukas throughout his book, especially after a pivotal moment which I realized that my heart just needed.

Lukas's story has a touch of mystery that took quite some time to unfold and I wasn't really sure in what direction his story might be heading. There were some suspenseful moments and some heartbreaking moments too. I loved seeing Damien and Bella again, and I enjoyed some new characters too, so much so that I wish that we could see another story come from this world.

I have been waiting with baited breath for Lukas’s story and Tempest did not disappoint me at all. Damien (Damien, Forever) may have my heart, but Lukas? This guy has my ever loving soul.

Lily has scrapped and fought for everything she has, but she isn’t bitter. This young woman is filled with so much love and I adore her. She’s overcome odds that were against her, is stronger and smarter than most realize and has a determination that can’t be beat - even when her heart is broken with loss.

Lukas is a man with a broken heart - instead of going on with his daily life he chose to take cover and hide from the world. He may come off as a little harsh and a lot bitter - but this man’s heart is one made of gold.

These two together is one full of tension, chemistry, longing, heat and true love. I really enjoyed watching how their relationship grew as they got to know one another.

My heart is so full after reading this - it has angst, heartache, healing, and love with just the right amount of suspense and heat. Tempest had me glued to my kindle from the start and I stayed glued until the tear-worthy (and much deserved) HEA. I adore how she wrote such complex characters within a story of so many layers. This isn’t just a book, it’s a treasure worth enjoying time and time again.

"He tasted like torture. He tasted like sin. He tasted like everything I shouldn't have, he tasted like my downfall."

I've been waiting for Lukas since the first book in the Art of Sinners series, and he was well worth the wait. Lukas, Sometimes is the tale of Lukas Christian Stone, a successful lawyer from a prominent family who's lost a lot of his will to live because he's gone through a rough break-up. He spends his days surfing and thinking about his lost love in his bungalow in the South Bay. Lily is herself going through a tough time, and she's overcome with grief. In the midst of all her sadness, she's a little bit lost at where she's at in life because she's had to contort herself in order to survive. She comes to a stretch of beach where she can find peace, but it's here that she meets Lukas. Though they're both different, they can't help but be drawn to each other; maybe it's the sadness, or maybe it's that they recognize their soul in the other. Lukas pursues Lily with great intensity, but her cautious nature and the hesitance she feels about his last love prevents her from really reaching out to him. When she needs help, she turns to Lukas, and their close proximity only serves to reveal their true feelings.

This book had a little bit of everything— fate, heartache, historical significance from a personal standpoint, a glimpse into art and dance, but is ultimately a look at how the human spirit endures and brightens when we meet the right people at the right time. There are so many parallels between Lukas and Lily: they both once lived for their families, they've lost a significant family member, they're both artists living in a world that wants to box them into a certain category. However, their juxtaposition shows their contrasting personalities as well: while Lukas feels like he has to hide himself from the world (simply going through self preservation, hiding his lack of love, his painting, even his pro bono work), Lily is so authentically pure and unashamed of who she is. There's a lot of pride in her ancestral heritage, her relationship with her Ba, her art, just her joy for life when she's not mired in pain. As Lukas said, it's Lily's "presence" that draws him to her, just as it's her presence that captures the reader's attention and shows just what a resilient and compassionate person she is. While Lily’s experience might not be for everyone, as a Vietnamese American I connected so much with her struggle of finding a place in this world, of balancing familial obligation and duty with pursuing your own passions, of keeping the past alive and staying present in the moment. It’s truly mind blowing to see some parallels to my own history and life in these pages.

Written in dual POV, I love how the authored layered the feelings of pain, loss, and joy to create such a rich look at the characters and their growth throughout the story. Just when Lukas and Lily thought they were too broken to exist, they come into each other's lives to share their burdens and offer a cathartic, raw, and vulnerable place for the other to rebuild. Lukas, especially, learns to differentiate the types of love he's experienced, and to understand the value of each. Lily offers Lukas what no other woman can: accepting and pure romantic love, no second best, no mediocre feelings of friendship. I love how they share their darkest moments, especially about loss, to strengthen the foundation of their relationship.

While this is a romance, there is some mysterious suspense as well! There's someone stalking our girl Lily and someone itching to bring Lukas down a peg. I find the side characters so intriguing: Saint, Andre, Clo??? What?? Give me more about this group, especially my guy Saint who is a such a big softie. For a South Bay native as well, I totally love all the little vignettes of the local places familiar to me, like Little Saigon. Highly recommend!

Darkly enchanting, Lukas and Lily's story is one of heartbreaking and heartstealing beauty! An exquisite
slow burn where it's impossible not to feel....to get utterly swept away in the gorgeous poetic angst and emotion that Tempest so beautifully writes....

Ahhh Lukas, my beautifully broken prince by the sea...I have been longing for you ever since the last page of Damien Forever. He trusted and loved only to have his heart shattered in hurt, humiliation and betrayal. Now he lives in a dark abyss, haunted by the ghosts of happiness where he vows to never love again. That is until a pixie came along in her faded hoodie and now she's all that he can see...

The love I have for Lily Ái Tiên is profound. She has a radiant light and inner strength that is unparalleled. Graceful, sweet, and kind...she dances away her grief and pain. Life has not been fair or easy to this pixie princess and yet, she faces every storm that comes her way with strength and determination. She's a beautiful soul who deserves all the happiness in the world. When her prince comes though, will he cherish the gift he's been given or crush her heart in his inability to let go of the past and let himself love again. ...

This story had my heart irrevocably addicted! The pull and connection I felt for these characters was just incredible! It was such an exquisite fall as I watched these damaged yet, kindred souls repaint their lives with love, friendship, laughter, and so much delicious heat! Irrevocably healing their pain, heartache, and sadness.....becoming the only one the other sees and finally finding the missing piece to thier soul within each other ....

GAH, this was amazing read! I always find such beauty in Tempest's written words and the characters she created. It's a gorgeous contrast of light and dark, angst and hope, heartache and love.....a truly unforgettable and beautiful read!

"There once was a prince, in a bungalow by the sea, Who stole a pixie in a faded black hoodie. Did they live happily ever after?
Oh, they did. They really fucking did."

Loved it! Highly recommend this beautiful story. My Lukas!

My rating - 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Lukas, Sometimes is book two of the Art of Sinners series by Tempest Phan

Soooooo OMG!!! Lukas, Sometimes was a story I begged for when I first finished reading Damien, Forever. I just wanted him to one day find his own happiness. My heart broke for him then, and I was the happiest girl on earth when Tempest told me she was going to write his book. I have been patiently waiting for this day.
She did not disappoint! I LOVED it!! With her special amazing writing she weaves a heartbreaking story of two incredible people that are a drift in their pain, lost and in much need of love, of finding their soulmates, a place to call home, a person that accepts you for who you are inside, no matter what you look like on the outside, or how much money you have. Lily is a beautiful person inside and out, just the perfect pearl that a certain surfer was searching for amongst his sandy beach!
A lawyer, suffer aristocrat, and a his ballerina, stripper minx Em Ly they find love by the sea in a bungalow on a private beach to the sound of the waves sitting on their special rock.

What a story of complexity, layer's, suffering, loss, betrayal, how freaking hard is immigration for families? Doing what you must to survive? This story also has a touch of mystery that keeps you guessing until the end, Love, respect... So much more to it that you need to read it! gosh this book is so freaking good!! Great secondary characters too.
Revisiting with my Bella and my Damien was awesome, their book will forever remain one of my favorites of all times for sure 🖤🖤🌸
This story is told in 1st person, dual point of view with a HEA.

I highly recommend it!
I also recommend you read Damien, Forever first to get the fullest enjoyment of the stories, and of the background of these characters.

My wish is that one day we also get to enjoy the love stories of Andre and Saint 🖤🖤 Thank you to this incredible author Tempest Phan 🥰 kisses & bites.

Took Me By Surprise

For the first few chapters, I wasn't sure what I thought about this book, as these were characters I wasn't connecting with right away. Fast forward a few more chapters and I can't wait to see how it is going to turn out for them.

Lukas Stone is irritating right out of the gate. Cocky and arrogant, I didn't have much time for him. Lily also seemed like a lot of work. Too much work for a selfish prick like Lukas, so I was more than ready for this man to change my mind. And boy did he ever.

"This man was dangerous. He'd be my downfall, if I let him."

Wise words Lily. This man has considerable emotional problems from his upbringing, as well as from his last relationship. I don't know what he was looking for and he didn’t either. Same with her. Lily was at a crossroads and didn't quite know which way to go. She suffered a tragic loss that she still isn’t over. The daily visits with a devilishly handsome man with hilarious coffee mugs and board shorts helped a bit. He was kind and generous, with a little smidge of the devil peeking out every so often. Like Lily, I didn't know what to make of this guy.

"Strangers."
"And yet, he made me feel safer than I'd ever felt in my entire life."

This is a slow burn read and needed to be with all of the background noise for each character. While there is healing needed, there is also a slight undercurrent of a whodunit in the story line that keeps you on your toes. Chapter after chapter, I started to feel differently about both of these characters as they evolved as individuals, as well as towards each other. They felt it right away, however they kept their distance for quite a while.

"My dark craved her light."

That is it in a nutshell. She was everything he needed right at that moment and while he needed her, he also made a difference in her life.

The book is well written with a ton of moving parts. Not necessarily a lot of supporting characters, however the handful present helped with the humor level and with moving the storyline along. While this is the second in the Art of Sinners series, it reads well as a standalone. That said, I am going to go back to book one because I have to see how that plays out to give us the Lukas we meet this time around.

Loved it🖤

Ever since reading DAMIEN FOREVER I have been anxiously anticipating this next instalment, and oh my god did Tempest Phan deliver 🖤
Okay first thing's first, you have to read book one to get the details everything that's going on, but even if you go in blind, the author is giving you a pretty clear picture of past events so if you are impatient as I am go right ahead and dive right in.🖤

Lukas is the epitome of dreamy - sophisticated, gorgeous, free-spirited, generous and just a little bit jaded. He’s been drifting through life, hoping for his heartbreak to fade away one day. Reality is, he is desperately stuck in a vacuum of pain, endless loop of bitter memories, until one day a gorgeous pixie lands on his private beach and refuses to leave him to his sorrows. 🖤 Try as he mind to convince himself, his heart has forever turned to stone, Lily breaks through and captivates him in a spectacular way.🖤

Lily is every bit of the delicate flower Lukas imagines her to be, yet so much more. Beneath her gentle exterior is a woman brimming with zest for life, laughter, determination and joy. Turns out Lukas is the life raft she's been needing to resurface from her own overwhelming pain of loss and disappointment. 🖤 Together they are electric, intense and mesmerising. 🖤 I couldn't look away, the chemistry was off the charts and the slow burn only made their passionate clash unforgettable. 🖤

Yet again the author introduces another fantastic cast of charismatic characters.🖤 I am so freaking in love with Saint🙌🙌🙌 oh my god that man can tattoo anything he wants on me. No seriously, ANYTHING 🤤🖤
Damien and Bella make an appearance and they are pure perfection. It is bitter sweet, seeing them this happy while Lukas nurses his broken heart...alas his gorgeous fairy is on her way to turn his word upside down, banishing his sadness away for good.🖤

Loved it🖤

Review:

“Who do you see right now?”
“All I see is you”

After a heartbreak that had him bitter and depressed, Lukas lives his life isolated in his private beach. When, one day, a sad woman appears in his sanctuary and changes his life.

Lily was a dual character. She seemed to be strong, but extremely fragile at the same time. He good heart was the thing that made Lukas open himself somewhat, but it was not easy for the man to see what was right in front of his eye, and this brought an angsty quality for the book.

Tempest writing style is quite characteristic, even in the most steamy scenarios she found a way to be graceful. It was really interesting to get a glimpse of the Vietnamese culture through Lily’s character. I really enjoyed this book in its entirety.

What a beautiful love story was the one of Lily and Lukas.

In a bungalow by the sea...

Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice Level: 🌶🌶🌶
Darkness Level: 💀

In December of 2020, I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of a debut book called Damien. Tempest Phan destroyed me. Wrung buckets of tears from me, stole my soul, and pranced off with it.

I read a lot. Not all books stay with you, but Damien has never left me. I've eagerly waited for Lukas' story, as I fell in love with him. When Tempest asked if I wanted an ARC again, you can bet your bottom dollar that I jumped all over it.

Lukas, Sometimes is beautifully written. Tempest has a very elegant way of writing that sucks you in and keeps you hooked. I could hardly put this down, and when I had to, I kept thinking about it. I adored Lukas and Lily's story.

And, of course, Tempest had me bawling my eyes out once again. She has a true gift, and I would absolutely recommend her books.

Just make sure you're stocked up on tissues. You'll need them.

This is the second book in this series, and this is Lucas and Lily’s journey. Lucas is a mysterious, cocky, and arrogant billionaire lawyer, while Lily has suffered a tragic loss, and has no idea which direction her life will be taking her. Both characters have complex pasts which are heartbreaking. This is a well written story which is raw, gritty, profound, and a slow burn, with angst, forced proximity, loss, grief, healing, suspense, redemption, intrigue, humor, and love, which leads to a heartwarming page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

A slow burn romance I didn’t want to end!

Lukas and Lily… you reeled me in, so slowly and oh so deliciously. This book was everything I wanted in a romance and more. A broken hearted hero. A strong heroine pushing through life with a crippled heart of her own. Add in some slow burn, a dash of forced proximity, and a beach setting. Perfection! After reading Damien, Forever, I was left wanting something more for Lukas’ character, and Lukas, Sometimes absolutely delivered. The characters have so much depth, I want to hang out with them in real life! I could not put this book down and I’m already wanting to pick it back up and read it again! I really enjoyed this second installment of the Art of Sinners series and I can’t wait to read more of Tempest Phan’s work.

This was written so beautifully. It flows smoothly and it captivates me from the very first sentence.
I haven’t read Damien, Forever but I have it. I thoroughly enjoyed Lukas and his pixie’s story. I was invested in Lily and what she was going through. I felt bad for Lukas and what he had gone through.
I loved how these two met and how their relationship developed. It’s a slow burn romance with a touch of suspense and I really enjoyed that.
I have to read Damien’s story. But this one can be read as a standalone. I highly recommended this book.
I wish there were more books to follow. A very talented author.

Who doesn’t love a good slow burn??

I have been patiently waiting for Lukas to get the justice he deserved after what happened to him in Damien, Forever. 😤

And boyyyyyyyyyy, did Tempest deliver.

The story of Lily and Lukas is beautiful. Both of them are battling losses (of different degrees). This story is a whole journey and I love when authors make me feel allllllll of the emotions.

Tempest’s writing is truly one of the best that I have read. I am so happy to have experienced both Damien, Forever and Lukas, Sometimes. 🤍

I received this book as an ARC. ☺️

Two heartbroken people met on a private beach. Both hearts were bleedings from a love lost, and their wounds seemed like they’d never heal.

Her heart was heavy when she sat on the rock, where the white sand blended with the blue of the water. Lily’s tears were still flowing when a golden surfer approached, telling her she was on his property. Lukas was trying to forget the heartbreak and the misfortunes that led to where he was today when a pixie appeared. The second their eyes met, their fate changed.

75635-E05-72-C8-48-A6-A588-51-FD4-E747-A8-A

It’s written in two parts and has three points of view. And the pictures illustrating the start of the parts are fitting and perfect for this book. I liked how it was written; it had a poetic quality. It touches your heart and stirs your feelings.

Lily and Luke’s love story was filled with sadness but also joy. They’re adorable together. Their worlds intertwine at the right time, putting them in each other’s path and allowing them to heal together. I loved the few glimpses into the side characters’ stories. It made me feel more connected and invested in reading this book. The word of the day thing they kept alive was touching and cute.

Okay, listen, too much winking. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it felt like the characters kept winking every chance they got. It reached a point where it got annoying. Also, I know it’s normal to compare when you think you’ve already lost the best thing that could have happened to you, but Lukas was annoying me when he kept comparing Lily to Bella. I was glad when he stopped doing it.

It’s a book for billionaire romance lovers. Lukas, Sometimes blends angst and steam with hope and finding happiness. I loved reading this book and will pick up more from the author’s books in the future. Thank you Tempest Phan for giving me the chance to read this masterpiece.

She left his heart in shatters. Running into HIS arms. She had been his obsession for a dozen years. She apologized for hurting him but it was never him she loved. He had let her love heal him. He had trusted her, but in the end, it wasn't him she loved and he would never trust or love again. He will never be broken again.

Lukas Stone, Viscount Ryding, walked away from everything. The law firm founded by his father, the Maserati, sold the New York penthouse, he closed the Seattle lake house but kept the seaside bungalow hoping that the pounding waves would take away the pain.

Lily was sitting on the beach, waves crashing into the sand, tears pouring down her face as she mourned what was never to be. And then a man told her she was trespassing on his private beach and to leave.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Although this is a standalone romance I highly recommend that you start with book one of this series as not only are the characters recurring, but they play an important part in Lukas's story.

This book is just WOW! Lukas is a man tortured over the past that he can't seem to let go of. Lily gave up her future to take care of a dying father. These are two people who would never have met in their social circles, but their sexual chemistry is beyond smoking hot.

This book is action-packed from word one, full of suspense, betrayal, danger and smoking hot scenes. There are a twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages and wanting more. This is the first time that I have read Tempest Phan and it won't be the last. The storyline was gripping and she pulls you into the story and lives of these characters. I truly hated when the book ended.

Highly recommend!

“I’d prove my right to be, my right to take up space.” One sentence is all it takes to make you stop and think, wow we all just want to be accepted and feel free to do what makes us happy. To just be happy and loved without conditions. Lukas in all his broken glory spends most of his life thinking he’s not enough, that people just don’t love him enough. Meanwhile Lily just wants to be accepted in general and not judged by choices made so she could survive. The two of them come together in such a beautiful way, with an immediate and natural connection. Tempest Phan has this ability to make you connect with her books on a personal level, they’re always so relatable. Her books are so emotional and full of angst and ultimately love. There are so many memorable moments in this book but there’s one scene that from Damien Forever but told from Lukas’s POV that was a killer. Tempest you know what you did there!! Needless to say I loved this book and I now need Andres book!! Amazing work once again lady!!

Hot As Heck Lukas, Always!!!

Swoon, oh Lukas you beautiful man! I fell hard for you when I met you in Tempest’s first book. I knew the minute I read about you, I would be wanting as much of you as I could get. And holy amazing did Tempest give us all of you. Hot, steamy, ruthless, vulnerable Lukas, I love you. And Lily, beautiful, strong, incredible Lily. You complete Lukas, you bring out the very best in him!

From the minute I closed Tempest’s first book, I knew I needed more. More of her writing. More of her humor. More of her beautiful descriptions. This lady can write a book! But mostly I badly needed more Lukas. I knew he would need a better half who would challenge him at every turn. Someone feisty who can say no to Lukas Stone but also have him falling at her feet. Oh Lily you beautiful character.

This book is amazing. It is soooo hot! It has romance, it has passion. But oh wow did it have me on the edge of my seat. You won’t want to put Lukas and his Pixie down! An absolute must devour.

This book was absolutely exquisite! Tempest absolutely broke my heart in Damien, Forever, and I just wanted to wrap Lukas in a hug! To see him heal, and with the only woman who was right for him, was so beautiful!
This book was feely and angsty and sexy and had me on the edge of my seat! It was so damn good, that I'm still reeling from it! They way Lukas and Lily healed each other...be still my heart! Two broken people coming together is always such a beautiful thing to read!
Tempest weaves such beautiful stories, and I just fell in love with Lukas even more! And I loved getting to see old favorites too! What a magnificent story that I will keep reading again and again!

I've been waiting for Lukas story since the first book in the Art of Sinners series, I'm so happy that I  finally got the chance to read his story, he deserved a HEA after everything that happened to him in the first book.
This book was such an incredible book, Lukas sometimes is a story about Lukas Christian Stone, a well known billionaire lawyer, he gives up everything after a rough break up by spending most of his time in South Bay Beach in his bungalow, spending his day surfing and doing anything possible to get over his ex

"This man was dangerous. He'd be my downfall, if I let him."

We also  meet lilly who's also going though a rough time, with everything she going though she alittle bit lost. She goes to the beach were she can find peace and soon meets Lukas there. Lilly is filled with so much love, she strong and really smart. And everything Lukas has been longing for someone who's going to be there for him and accepts him with pure romantic love and not putting him second.
Although Lukas and lilly are totally different, broken but they seem to be drawn to each other. There was a bit of suspense in this book that kept you guessing throughout the book. But These two together are  full of tension, chemistry, longing, and so much of love for each other. I really loved how they grew together , their relationship, how they fit so well together. Everthing I would want.😭

Both of them managed to fix something better in each other

Tempest  going to say this again, you did incredible ever last bit of this book was so well written so worth the wait... after damiens story you literally had me hooked on what goings to happen to Lukas and this story was so good. Just know I'm never going to forget about Damien or Lukas.
I highly remember this book to everyone, there is so so much more I can say about this book but I'm just going to leave it as is, cause you guys need to pick up this book, well series and read it, definitely will not disappoint because this is by far my favorite book for this year 😭 Tempest Phan I'm so proud of you.
You know how much I adore Damien and Lukas and I'm so happy I got to read about them both.❤

This book is fantastic. The writing is brilliant, from the pacing to the dialogues to the characters, and of course the equal amount of domestically angsty romance that had me chokehold, the characters' moments to be precise, it was just so good.

I wasn't a fan of Lukas in the first book, but I feel sorry for him in this one. BOI REALLY MADE UP. He was just so compelling here that I can't help but feel really, really sorry for him like this man loves so deeply LIKE DEEP DEEP, and BELLA DIDN'T DESERVE HIM.

I'm still not over that three-way scene, and I'll be forever angry with the three of you, especially Damien and Bella.

Going back, the plot of this book was far superior to Damien, Forever, and everything here was simply brilliantly written.

The scenes and moments between Lily and Lukas are so precious that I can't get enough of them. Lily had my heart, and Lukas had my heart; I would do anything for the two of them. Their characters were very interesting, with a lot of depth and growth from the beginning to the end, which was my favorite part of the story. I'm enjoying getting to know them better and rooting for them on their path to acceptance, healing, and happiness.

I don't know what else to say except that I adore this book.

Not to mention the Asian representation and other relevant issues addressed in this book.

I'm also hoping for novels about the side characters because they're equally likable and interesting to me, so fingers crossed.

Overall, I adore this. Instead of those two, I hoped the author would include a bonus scene with Lukas and Lily.

Tempest Phan you dear author make me totally obsessed with this book and truly addicted to this characters!

After a heartbreaking breakup, Lucas is completely depressed, and decided to left everything and to live in he's bungalow in the beach.
One day he noticed this sad girl with tears in eyes in he's property and totally he's world get upside down.

Lily tis young woman is filled with so much love and I adore her. She get trough so much heartbreak to,but for sure is strong and doesn't give up no matter what.

Lukas definitely is with broken heart, but damn him and he's charming personality definitely doesn't help me with how he treten my girl. Of course he was so freaking hot and caring, but for sure so blind, because when lily was in front of him,he still was chasing the past and breaking her little heart.

Thank you for reaching me ,and hase the chance to read your book, for sure I will continue to read your books and to divine into your story's!

Two people broken by life circumstances but brought together by fate. Lukas, a grumpy, respectable, successful lawyer, party-time surfer with such a professional vocabulary you would never imagine that bellow the surface lies a heartbroken man trying to forget his past and close up his heart, now pair that with dirty mouth that will have your heart skip a beat and a heart of gold that it’s impossible not to fall in love with him. Lily (Ly) a young woman who’s so close to achieving her life long dream of being a ballerina, dealing with the loss of her Ba(and as someone who also lost her dad, this hit really close to home.) and just trying to survive in the world. The chemistry between them is undeniable from the moment they meet. There’s a lot of endearments I enjoy while reading books but the way Lukas uses Love and 𝘦𝘮 (sweetheart in Vietnamese) make you swoon 🫠. Thank you so much to Tempest Phan for sending over this amazing book my way! It blew my mind in the best of ways!

“And if they do,” he growled, “let them look. Let them watch me f**k what’s mine and wish it was theirs.” 🫠

Hot billionaire lawyer who surfs and wears suits… yes! You first read about Lukas in Damien, Forever and I was so excited when the sweet author decided to give him his own story! I was all here for it! We needed his HEA.

This book gives you a strangers-to-lovers with a hint of forced proximity vibe and boy did it bring on the spice. You will also get some heated angst between these two and who doesn’t love that back and forth tension!? Oh, and the plot was so good. Just enough suspense and action. Had me hooked!

Lukas. You broke our hearts in book 1 and we desperately needed to see you put back together. The charm that drips from this man is FIRE and his infatuation with his fiery minx is swoon worthy. He’s obsessed and protective and I was all here for it.

Lily. LOVED her. She reminded me of Bella (from book 1) but had a little more edge and fire. She is so strong and brave with all the struggles she had to face in life. Without giving anything away, she had to do the nitty gritty to be able to make ends meet and let’s just say, our dear Lukas was not having it. ;)

I need to also say how good the side characters are! ELITE.

This is book 2 of the Art of Sinners series but you do not need to read book 1 first. I highly recommend it, but if you choose not to, the author summarizes it up nicely at the beginning. So do I recommend this series and book? YES 100 times YES. 💫

Lukas, Sometimes by Tempest Phan is book Two in the Art of Sinners Series. This is the story of Lily and Lukas. Lily is a sweet loving young women who just lost a very close family member an now is somewhat lost in her sadness. Lukas is a arrogant, hard feeling person who has been burned and now lives a tougher life. These two meet and although there is sparks between them things don't just fall into place. I really enjoyed this book and I hope to read more from this author.

Tempest Phan is one of those rare authors that manage to captivate her readers, and then drag them into her books, helping them share the wonderful stories she creates, with conflicted heroes, brave heroines and breathtaking storylines.

Damien, forever was her debut novel and until this day is one of my favorites books ever, so it's obvious that I was looking forward to Lukas story and I was anxious about going back to their magnificent world, because when a book is as good as the first one, is scary than the follow up wont make any justice.

However, Lukas, sometimes didn't disappoint, his jerk-like personality that we all love to hate in the first book was present through and through, Ly was a beautiful character and a breath of fresh air to our conflicted Lukas, after getting his heart broken.

Tempest stories have something in common, they speak directly to your soul, and its so easy to connect with the feelings the characters are feeling, the raw pain, the happiness and the love. I have no words to explain how special her stories are.

Damien and Lukas are without a doubt two of my favorite characters ever written and I'm happy that both got their HEA.

I hope Tempest finds her muse again to write Saint's and Andre' stories because that world she created is a place where I deeply enjoy going back anytime and her characters are unique and simply perfect in their own way.

If you haven't read any of her books, I wont say you are missing out, but you are!

Last but not least, aren't her covers the best?! I loveeeeeeee them, because it's not only a hot model who sells books, but an entire conflicted hero portrait by a model.
