You know what I don’t have time for? The brooding, dark-eyed former love of my life showing up when my life is finally settling down.

I don’t have time for Hunter Buchanan and that intense look in his eyes. The way he loved me so perfectly all those years ago.

I’m the one who asked him to leave back then, my attempt at saving him from the chaos of my screwed up family.

I didn’t expect him back in Green Valley, looking better than before and with an empty ring finger. And I definitely didn’t expect him to still be in love with me.

I don’t have time for the things I feel around him, or how amazing it is when he touches me.

Most of all, for the broken heart I’ll have if I have to say goodbye again. I survived him leaving once before, but I don’t think I can do it again.

So there’s only one thing I can make time for… staying away from Hunter Buchanan.

‘Worth the Wait’ is a full-length contemporary romance, can be read as a standalone, and is book #4 in the Love At First Sight series, Green Valley World, Penny Reid Book Universe.

Worth the Wait is that type of book where the writing, the plot, the characters are like easy breezy on sunny weekend afternoon. I love the book. I love Miss Sorensen story telling.

It fits perfectly with my mood. Cheesy, easy and romantic.

DNF.

I'm sad, I like this author's work but I struggled to get past the premise.
The family men of the Hero know their 'one' but the woman doesn't.
The Hero and heroine have a relationship when young, she sends him away, asks him to leave.
She has family issues and can't cope with or believe in the longevity of their relationship.

I think its 10 years later, the Hero returns.
He married a woman he didn't love and is now divorced.

The heroine is a nightmare with her self doubt, to and froing.

HEA.

Get your tissues and water bottles ready. Karla Sorensen decided to kill me with angst in Worth the Wait. And I am here for every swoony, agonizing, witty, heart-pounding, heartbreaking and sizzling hot moment. Hunter and Iris are match made in heaven who had to go through emotional hell before they find their epic happily ever after.

Iris Black had to move to Green Valley with her grandmother after her repeat offender mother went to prison and later her half brother Theo comes under her care too. She has just lost her grandmother and she is trying to get her business up from the ground. Theo's outbursts in school is making her anxious. And who is his new special tutor? The man she pushed away years ago. Hunter Buchanan is back in town and this time, he won't let her get away.

Small town. Big families. Bigger feels. Biggest chemistry. This book has it all. Iris is a Rockstar. She has been dealt with some really bad hands in life. It couldn't stop her from becoming this sweet, kind, loving, adorable, compassionate, fierce and overall awesome woman. That doesn't mean she doesn't struggle with her dark Sides of her life. She has this overwhelming need to be independent and bear her burdens alone. That can be tiring and that means she sometimes push away people she loves. Like Hunter. Years ago, he let her go as she asked it. Now, he knows that nothing can fill the emptiness in his heart except Iris. The feels in this story is incredible. They will rock you. They will deliver punches after punches in your gut. And that's just amazing. Hunter should be at top of your book husband list. Alpha. Protective. Possessive. Charismatic. Caring. Drop dead gorgeous. His heart is even more beautiful. Did I mention he is complete droon worthy, swoon worthy and panty melting package? Gahh I wish I could capture how brightly, deeply and intensely he loves Iris..but Karla Sorensen's words definitely did. The small town charm is working magic and I just loved the warm, cozy, nosey and sweetest vibes of Green Valley. This book is one of my all time favorite from Karla Sorensen.

PS THEO AND HIS SMARTA## MOUTH WAS ONE OF THE HIGHS OF THIS BOOK AND I HOPE HE GETS A STORY SOMEDAY TOO AS THIS BOY IS FIRE.

Worth the Wait was definitely worth the wait!! I have been waiting for Hunter Buchanan's story since we got a glimpse of him in Baking Me Crazy (the first book in the series). Worth the Wait is a small town, second chance romance between Hunter and his former lover, Iris. Hunter and Iris used to date when they were in their early 20s, but family circumstances in Iris' life lead her to pushing Hunter away, ultimately breaking up with him. Hunter moves away for 12ish years, building a live, getting married and divorced, and still pining for Iris. He returns to town to be closer to his family, and ends up volunteering with the summer school kids (he used to be a principal in the state he came from). One of the kids he's tutoring is Iris' younger brother, Theo, who Iris now has full custody of. This brings Hunter and Iris back into each other's lives, where it is obvious from their first reunion that the love has never died between.

My favorite part of Worth the Wait was how INTENSELY these two loved each other. We get small glimpses of the past through their inner monologues, and it's clear that they are soulmates. I understood why Iris struggled with accepting happiness (her mother is a piece of WORK) and wanting to not have Hunter be a part of the toxic BS that her brother constantly involved Iris in. However, Iris had some great family members and friends that reminded her in the present time that it's ok to share your burdens with your loved ones, and ask for help. Iris has to learn this before she can open herself up completely to Hunter, and Hunter has to accept Iris' past and give her the space she needs to come to him. Iris' relationship with her younger brother was beautiful and I admired her for stepping up to the plate and raising him, choosing him first over her own needs at time.

This author always has a way of creating an intimate, small town story that makes you fall in love with all the characters. Iris and Hunter deserved their HEA, and the whole town knew it. The only thing I would've loved to see is maybe a few short flashbacks of Iris and Hunter as a couple when they were younger. Like I said above, you could piece together some of their time together from their inner thoughts but it felt a little disjointed at times. I think having a few flashbacks would've helped show their lifelong connection instead of simply speaking about it. Aside from that, Worth the Wait was a beautiful second chance romance and I'm so glad we finally got Hunter's story!

TROPES: second chance; small town; close knit family; single parent heroine (she's raising her younger brother)

TRIGGER WARNINGS: parental abandonment

I love any excuse to take a trip back to Green Valley in the Penny Reid Universe, and this conclusion to the Love at First Sight series did not disappoint.

Iris is back in Green Valley, caring for her younger brother, living in her grandmother’s old home, and trying to establish a business in the small community. After years away, Hunter is back in town, newly divorced and with no idea that the love of his life—the one that told him to leave so many years ago—is back in the area. When Hunter is assigned as a summer school tutor to Iris’s brother, the former lovers are continually thrown together. Will Iris continue to resist the pull of Hunter or will she allow herself to be embraced by the love and family she has always wanted?

This one is a second chance romance, but while most books with that trope are full of angst that gives me heartburn, Worth the Wait provides the why behind the breakup and outlines the hurt it caused and continues to cause the main characters without putting the reader through that emotional pain. Trust me; my heart greatly appreciated that approach.

Karla Sorensen delivers on the chemistry, tension, and steam between Iris and Hunter. We get the fun of some small town gossip and meddling, the heart behind the growing and developing trust between the characters, and the delight and clarity in family members who are willing to tell it like it is. And while I adore the scenes between the love interests, some of my favorites are actually the heartwarming scenes where Hunter interacts with and embraces Theo, who has been through more than any 10-year-old should ever have to endure.

Honestly, this is a novel that will give you the warm fuzzies and make you feel good.

Grab a cup of coffee and a blueberry muffin and settle in for spell. Hunter’s story was worth the wait.

Oh those Buchanan’s and the “Curse”...and just Green Valley in general…did my heart all kinds of happy. There was, admittedly, also eye rolling, snort laughing, the secret wish that I could drive to Donner Bakery and try the goodies and meet Joy and the hope that I turn out like one the feisty characters when I finally “grow up”...but in the end this baby gave me ALL the goodness and then some.

Iris and Hunter. You know, it was hard to not like/love/adore these two. Iris is determined, sassy, sweet and has constructed huge walls, not only around her heart, but simply around herself. Hunter is a sweetheart. He’s observant, sweet and when he decides on a path, he doesn’t stray all that far from it.

Their journey was a fun one, frustrating and heartbreaking at times, but fun. They have the kind of flow that drew me in and great chemistry from the moment they re-connected and watching as they stumbled over their pasts and finally looked to their futures was worth all the eye rolling in the end.

It’s no secret that I love the Green Valley world in all its various forms. The small town, everyone knows your business vibe is one that always makes me happy and there is a ton of it in this baby, not only from the Buchanan’s but from an amazing woman names Maxine (I want to be her when I grow up). And then there is Theo. He is an old soul in a young man’s body and I loved the energy he brought to the story and am crossing my toes that he will one day get his own HEA.

When I read Grace Buchanan’s story back in 2020, it was the first book I ever read by Karla Sorensen and not only did she make me fall in love with the Buchanan family, but she thrilled me with her writing wizardry! I loved being back in this world!!

I want to tell you that Hunter Buchanan was my favorite of all the Buchanan siblings, but I honestly just love them all. However, his story, I think, might just be one of the best ones. His backstory/circumstances with Iris in their past was achingly devastating to me, but not so angst-filled that it broke my heart. Not sure if that makes too much sense but Karla has a way of writing stories that have difficult circumstances weaved into the fabric of a story that is full of humor and wit, love and hope and small-town shenanigans that just make your heart soar instead of break! Every plot point in this story was filled with some kind of emotion and it allowed me to not just read the story but also live it! I felt this journey and when it was hot, I was hot *fans self*; when it was funny, I laughed right along with it; when it was swoony, I swooned right along with it.

This series has been a thing of beauty from the very beginning and it will be one I turn to in the future to read again and again!

This one hurts. It really hurts but I'm DNFing the book at this point in time. The heroine is enraging me. The hero is wonderful and great and understanding and, for me, the heroine is a complete bitch.

They met when they were young, only 17 or so. When they fell for each other, they fell very hard. But the heroine, for some reason couldn't handle it. She has a very toxic mother who did a lot of damage and as a result is raised by her grandmother. Because she can't handle the depth of her feelings, she asks him to leave. And he does. He leaves his close family, his friends, his life because she can't handle it. He's desperately in love with her yet he leaves. Then she leaves the small town herself. So why she asked him to leave beats the shit out of me.

Its now some years later, her grandmother has died and because her mother is still such a f. up, she has custody of her younger brother. She moves back to the small town as she thinks it would be a good place to raise him.

Unbeknownst to her, the hero has also moved back. Turns out he's taken a position helping troubled youth and the heroine's brother has troubles and that's how they meet again. Neither has gotten over the other, but she doesn't want to have any real kind of relationship because - I don't really know. The hero is devastated and now I loathe the heroine so much for hurting this amazing guy, I don't want to read a single word about her and because I got it on KU, it didn't cost me anything.

The reason it hurts is because I read and adored the Ward Sisters books and a number of other books in that world. So I KNOW she can write books I love. But this isn't one of them. I was so excited because this book started off so good but then, for me, it fell off a very high cliff.

Because I couldn't even get to 50%, I'm not grading it. I may try again some other time. Its the fourth book in the series and who knows, maybe if I start with first book and work up to this book, it might work better. But I have a number of books I really want to read so why suffer with this one angering me when I want to move on.

I’ve been having a hard time reading and liking books this year, but thankfully “Worth the Wait” ended up being an exception.

I liked Hunter and Iris’s story because it was a second-chance romance that felt believable. All the drama regarding why they broke up in the past didn’t feel unnecessary and over the top. Plus, the characters were very in tune with their feelings and knew what they needed to do to overcome their problems. Although sometimes I got frustrated with Iris, I understood where she was coming from so I can’t complain much.

Other than that, this has been an easy and straightforward romance full of cute scenes and an amazing family dynamic! The epilogue was very sweet and I’m now wondering if I’m ever gonna meet someone like Hunter in my life *sighs* Karla really knows how to write perfect heroes :)

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

Worth the Wait
is the third stand alone in the A Love At First Sight series by Karla Sorenson.

The Buchanan's have one true love in their life and no matter when they meet them that's it for them, it's an instant love, but that doesn't guarantee the person who is their soulmate is going to feel the same way about them. At a young age, Iris fell just as in love with Hunter Buchanan as he did with her. Her upbringing didn't allow her to trust those feelings, and she pushed him away. 12 years later and Iris is raising her younger half brother as a single parents and Hunter, back in Green Valley, is his newly appointed summer school teacher. Hunter tried to move on from Iris, even going as far as getting married but it ended in divorce because Iris would forever hold his heart. Now as adults can he convince he to finally give into the love they share or will she continue to run from them.

I wanted to bottle the way Hunter Buchanan made me feel because after so long of not having it, these tiny pockets of time with such big, big feelings were rare and precious. Something I wanted to clutch to my chest to keep it safe.

Hunter is the sweetest. He loves Iris so much and is greedy for any little attention she's willing to give him. He's respectful and genuinely just wants her to be happy, even if that's not with him. Iris is a strong character, she's independent, a hard worker, and devoted to making a loving home life for her younger brother. She was a bit back and forth with her affection towards Hunter which was frustrating as I didn't actually see a good reason for her to not give him a second chance, it was all excuses to me with not much weight behind them. Their second chance romance as a bit of a slow burn to it. Iris has so much on her plate already that she tells Hunter that she can't be more than friends. However, it's impossible for her to ignore their chemistry and when she gives into it, it's explosive. I also have to mention what a great secondary character Iris' brother Theo is. He is ten going on sixteen and is snarky as hell. I enjoyed that he and Hunter built a bond outside of Hunter's relationship with Iris.

It was dangerous to allow someone that much power over you, but I'd never known any other way to love this woman. And even knowing she could wreck me all over again, I pulled her off the counter with our mouths sealed, my heart open, and dove straight back in.

Overall, Worth the Wait by Karla Sorenson is an enjoyable second chance romance for true love filled with a snarky little brother, meddling family, reminiscing, steam, and supporting those you care about.

I’ve been waiting for Hunter’s story since reading his brother Levi’s story (Baking Me Crazy) so I was unbelievably excited when this book landed on my Kindle. It was cute and Hunter was great, but the story overall was just okay for me.

Hunter Buchanan has been in love with Iris since the first time they met thanks to the Buchanan curse but when she asked him to leave, he left for Seattle and married someone else. Now, 12 years later, he’s back in Green Valley trying to figure out what’s next now that he’s divorced and left his job. Hunter is quiet and reserved but confident in himself and his abilities. He’s working in Green Valley teaching kids in a summer school program and making up for lost time with his family, spending every minute he can with them.

Iris Black is working to put her life together - busy being her little brother Theo’s legal guardian and working to open a business of her own in Green Valley. All of her time and energy is tied up in those two things and Hunter being back in town throws her for a loop. She pushed him away years ago because she didn’t think she was deserving of his all-consuming love after everything she’d been through with her mother - she wasn’t enough and it was too much of a burden to share with someone else. I wanted to like Iris, but I feel like she let her mother rule her life for way too long and her insistence that she’d carry that burden alone was a little infuriating at times.

These two have a long history full of love and happiness but also heartbreak and pain. Being back in Green Valley together brings up a lot of old feelings, both good and bad. Their love story is definitely slow burn - they both have things to work through before they can be together for real this time. I almost wish this story was told in a dual timeline to show us the beginning of their relationship too. I felt like we were missing a lot of background and just being told about it instead which made me feel disconnected from them. Even in the current timeline, we didn’t get as much conversation and connection between them, just lots of mentions that they were getting back to where they were 12 years ago.

Theo was such a great addition to this story and constantly made me laugh. I loved how accepting he was of Hunter joining this family and his asking the Buchanans about the curse in the epilogue made me tear up for sure. I’ve really enjoyed going on this journey with the Buchanans and loved reading about their crazy love at first sight curse and how it played out for each of them!

I don’t know what it is…..but I am just not a fan of second chance romance. There’s always a stupid reason for the initial breakup. Usually miscommunication, which drives me nuts.

So this one is 12 years later. The couple dated for 3 years? Hero left when the heroine pushes him away because of her family drama. Ugh. So stupid. I needed a better reason than that. 12 years!!

They’re both still in love with one another. The hero even goes on to marry someone else (the heroine does not mind you. Like always). Hero comes back to his hometown. Fresh off his divorce. And the heroine is back in town with her younger brother that she has custody of.

The second half of the book was better than the first half. I was frustrated most of the time.

Secondary characters helped. Maxine is the best. The little brother was cute. And all the Buchanan’s and their partners are featured throughout.

Loved it! The writing just totally pulled me in instantly and captured me from page one.
Worth The Wait is part of The Love at First Sight series but can be read as a standalone. This is Hunter and Iris’s story.
A second chance, small town romance with all the feels.
The connection with Iris and Hunter is undeniable even after being separated for 12 yrs. Their story has its ups and downs but the ride is tension filled with many heartfelt lessons. Great family bonding and nice small town moments.
I loved coming into the Green valley world with The Buchanan family.

Worth The Wait gives off total Tristan vibes. If you know, you know and if you don’t, well I promise you want to. Along with Tristan’s book, Worth The Wait is the book that you will continuously want to come back to. It will live rent free in your head for days, for hours, for flipping years.

Sorensen brung the definition of DEVOTION to a whole other level with Hunter and that’s a testament to her writing skills. I could feel him and his every single emotion, as if they were my own, the same when it came to Iris. Which again, goes with how amazingly talented this author is because the inner and outer dialogue brought everything to life. Worth The Wait had it all. Great world building, great development, inspiring depth, and one of a kind characters.

This story has backbone, and so much strength that I didn’t see coming. It was worth the heart stopping moments that eventually lead to the soul shining moments.

I recommend this book.

'"I don't"— I swallowed—" I don't want to mess this up again. I can't lose you twice, Hunter." He hummed. His lips pressed a featherlight kiss to the edge of my jaw. "You won't," he said into my skin. "Invite me in, Iris." I managed a jerky nod. A sound rumbled low in his chest. Against my stomach, he was big. And hard. And I wanted him more than I ever had before. "Good girl," he growled.'

I have so many fantastic quotes and excerpts from this book highlighted, I was struggling with which one to use in my review. Ultimately I chose to use the one above, because it not only shows the exposed vulnerabilities, raw passion and innate courage within these two beautiful protagonists, but Hunter growling 'good girl' just about did me in.

Apparently I have a praise kink.

I've been patiently waiting for Hunter to get his turn at a happily-ever-after with the woman of his dreams, and not only did we get that in the end, but I also feel like we were gifted a really mesmerising, fabulously layered, intoxicating and very sweet, epic kind of love.
The relationship between Hunter and Iris is complex but they're both so damn devoted to one another that it adds another dramatic and complicated twist to their story. A shared and painful past, that leads to something monumental for the future.

"Worth the Wait" was a funny, wonderfully paced, smouldering romance. Author Karla Sorensen has written a truly captivating, sensual and sweepingly romantic second-chance love story that you don't want to miss out on!

Absolutely adored this second chance romance.

"The last time I saw her, I told her I'd love her for the rest of my life, whether she was in it or not. And I walked away all the same."

Hunter Buchanan is back in Green Valley after twelve long years away. He has a temporary job at the local school for the summer, and is shocked to find out that one of his new charges is the little brother of the love of his life, Iris Black. The girl who broke his heart when she told him to leave.

"If he knew just how easily he'd be able to consume my life and my head and my heart, I had a feeling that he'd be relentless in his pursuit of me."

Iris has a lot on her plate and when Hunter comes back to town, he's a complication she didn't plan for. It's clear as day that twelve years away and a divorce under his belt has not lessened the Buchanan family curse he carries. Just as clear, she's just as much in love with him and she was back then. However, fears, insecurities and another unpleasant complication threatens to destroy her second chance at happily ever after.

"There was only place I wanted to go. Inside. Inside her. The woman I wanted, had waited for, and would love for the rest of my f*cking life."

Gah! Hunter was downright gorgeous! I loved every single thing about him. His endless love, his patience, his quiet understanding - he was a beautiful man inside and out. My heart hurt for the years he'd been away from the girl he loved irrevocably. Iris was a mess of emotions. She had a lot to contend with, but the incredibly chemistry and connection between Hunter and her was impossible to ignore. Even more so, the love that burned bright between them made it a crime to turn away from. They were in sync from the moment they met again and super hot together. I thoroughly enjoyed all the meddling by well-meaning friends and family, the banter and unerring support of the Buchanan clan, and spunky little Theo. Loved this story hard!

Karla Sorensen is one of my favorite voices in contemporary romance. She has a beautiful way of telling a story that evokes just the right amount of emotion in readers without unnecessary angst and drama. Sorensen employs that same literary magic once again in Worth the Wait, a second chance contemporary romance in the Love At First Sight series.

Readers who are up-to-date in this series know that there’s a love-at-first-sight “curse” in the Buchanan family, but the curse doesn’t always work exactly the same way. Sometimes, the Buchanan family member and the person they’re in love with just aren’t ready. That was the case when Iris Black met Hunter Buchanan. Though the two were in love, things just didn’t work out and Hunter moved away. Far away. But now Iris and Hunter are both back in Green Valley, Tennessee - home to some of literary fiction’s finest meddlers.

This story could have been incredibly angst-filled, as second chance romance often is. While it did have some angst and contention, Sorensen balances those points with humor and love. The result is a delectable treat that is Worth the Wait, indeed.

This book was totally Worth the Wait! I have been wanting Hunter to have his happy ever after ever since we learned he tried to buck the Buchanan curse and failed.

This is such an emotional second chance romance and you are just rooting for these two from the start. There was never a man more invested in the success of his relationship as Hunter Buchanan. He is just all-in and waiting for Iris to get there with him.

And there seems to be a plethora of swearing sidekicks in my stories lately, because Theo is just the best. He just blooms with the love and attention that he gets, first from Iris, and then from Hunter and his family.

But man, do Iris and Theo have the worst mom. Just loved how that was handled and so happy for everyone how it worked out.

This is a terrific ending to the Buchanan’s Love at First Sight series!

I have been looking forward to Hunter's book since the first one in this series was released. There have been a few hints and references to his story and I was so curious about his past and who his true love was.

I absolutely loved Iris and Hunter. Their second chance romance was everything I hoped for and more. They are both easy to love characters who I was rooting for from the beginning. I also loved Iris' younger brother Theo. He brought a lot of humor and fun to the story, and his interactions with Iris and Hunter that were my favorite.

It is an emotional story with so many sweet and swoony moments. There's a lot of pain from their past and it was wonderful seeing them work through that and find their way to an HEA. I am so sad this is the end of the series but it was perfect wrap up and booked and things on. I can't wait to see what Karla writes next!

This book and series should not be missed!

Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.

I’ve adored this series from the beginning and Hunter Buchanan was absolutely *worth the wait*.

This was a really sweet and touchingly emotional second chance romance. There were definitely happy tears… on more than one occasion, the love and devotion of these two just moved me.

Hunter and Iris… they just “fit”. There was never any doubt that they are meant to be. I continue to love the Buchanan family and how big they love their people, love curse or not.

I am usually wary of second chances because the nature of the second chance is… angst. And while this of course has a smidgen, I really enjoyed how maturely it was handled. They were open and honest and when it was hard- they loved each other through it. The MC’s acted like grown ups and it was beautiful and just made my heart squeeze.

The way Karla Sorensen writes is so beautiful. It’s feelings heavy and the way people treat one another- and especially children- always make my psychology loving heart so happy.

I’m sad that the Love at First Sight series is over, but, I’m so thankful that she submitted to Smartypants Romances as I found one of my favorite authors from that initial launch, which is pretty special. This may be the ending of this series, but I looked forward to whatever direction is next.

This book….this book has made it to the top spot of 2022.

Karla Sorensen has written a story that hits you in all your feels. You can literally feel the words on the pages in your heart and soul. This book is full of deep emotions and a true love that will last forever. Watch out at 61 % because the tension between these two explodes!!

Worth the Wait is a phenomenal romance that will stick with you long after you read the last page. I didn’t really want this book to end because it was just THAT GOOD!! Hunter Buchanan is one of those hero’s that we all fall in love with. He is patient, he is kind, and he loves Iris with his whole heart. It’s really a curse.

Iris Black let go of Hunter 12 years ago. Life hasn’t always been good to Iris and she didn’t see her self worth like Hunter did. But now he’s back….and everything changes. These two were a young love and now they are older with a lot more on their plates. But with the help of some pushy people these two finally find their way back to each other.

Highly recommended!

What a beautiful book!! I loved Iris and Hunter! I’ve loved the Buchanans and I love how they love Iris and Theo.
Iris and Hunter had young love and she pushed him away.
He’s back in their hometown and so is she.
She’s raising her brother, she’s had a difficult family life.
What I loved was this family and community loving Iris and Theo. I loved Hunter and Iris knowing they still loved each other and watching them open up was amazing!
Love all of Karla Sorenson’s book!! This one is another must read!

sweet second chance

Iris & Hunter’s story is set in the Green Valley universe, of which there are many iterations by various authors. This subseries, “Love At First Sight”, is the final of four by Karla Sorensen, an author whose works I’ve read and enjoyed a great deal. Iris and Hunter were madly in love and inseparable in their late teens. However, Iris’s dysfunctional relationship with her criminally minded mother led Iris to ask Hunter to leave her when they reached their early 20s because she felt unworthy of his love and feared her mother would try to exploit the connections to the Buchanan family.
About a dozen years after their breakup, Iris is guardian of her young brother, and Hunter’s arrived back in TN from Seattle after a failed marriage. Their journey to a healthy, mature relationship is jeapordized by the spectre of her mother’s impending release from prison and threats to Iris’s guardianship of her brother.
Sorensen maintains a careful balance in acknowledging the reluctance Iris feels in involving Hunter in her dilemma while not forcing another breakup or lies by anything other than omission. I appreciate that particular plot device being avoided.
Overall a sweet story and a satisfying conclusion to the series.
