I'm not exactly sure why this book was written and published, the original books are all dual pov so i feel like i've read it all before besides the present days and a few extras here and there. I thought this book would've been more about Lex and Samantha, before & during Charlie, i feel like it was heavily talked about how Samantha changed after marriage, wish we could've seen a bit of that. I was really hoping to see how Lex handled himself after the breakup during the 4 years. The time jumps didn't bother me, obviously it is a novella, but all of the past chapters were already written in the original, even though they might've been in Charlotte's POV, i didn't really care to read it in Lex's.

I'm a bit confused at the mention of Charlotte being pregnant with twins, obviously Alexa isn't a twin and i don't remember a miscarriage being mentioned in any of the books... i'm guessing it'll be talked about in Craving Love?

i don't really understand Alexa's hatred for Lex, i get that he's controlling but all parents have rules that kids need to follow... i'm assuming by the sneak peak that she hates for her abortion, Lex didn't mention it which makes me think she did it behind his back to not disappoint him but is now hating him because she had to do it? I'm not super excited for Alexa's book, she seems childish and immature and her book seems to have a serious age gap... i guess we'll see🤷🏼‍♀️

Cute novella, was a short read and now makes me want to go reread the series, just felt like this book wasn't entirely necessary.

You can’t beat a book taking you back into one of your favourite worlds. The Dark Love series will always be one of my favourite series ever and to read a book from Lexs’ pov was a must read.

I love reading how he reacted to certain situations and I really enjoyed how the book was written. It spanned a great amount of time but never felt disjointed, leading you right up to date ready to start the next series with Alexa.

If you have read the Dark Love series then this book is a must. Can’t wait to read more of these short stories about more of my favourite characters, like Eric!

I really enjoyed the first book with Catherine and Lex even though it was a tough subject and situation. However, some of this book from Lex’s point of view was problematic for me. There were several scenes that I did not feel the love between that I had before. And obviously there are hard parts in any marriage, but Catherine going behind Lex’s back for the vasectomy is a BIG red flag. We get no explanation about how they went from Lex having a consultation with a doctor for a vasectomy to having one. I also found it really hard to read all the times Catherine complained and blamed Lex for getting pregnant, but then was also really lax in taking her birth control and in doing other preventative measures. This could also be a major trigger for a lot of readers, myself included. I usually love reading how a beloved couples has grown and about their families but this follow up felt off. I did enjoy reading how Lex viewed some of the past experiences in more depth, but I also would have loved to learn more about what happened with his first wife.

Overall, I liked seeing Lex and Catherine again and meeting their daughters. But I was left just feeling meh about it all.

This short story is told from Lex Edwards' point of view.

It takes the readers back to Lex's earlier days and his earlier marriage with his first wife, but also how he fell in love with Charlotte and how he found his way back into her life.

We see how his career path went from doctor to billionaire and how the men in his life influenced him to become the man he is today.

We watch as Lex navigates fatherhood alongiade Charlotte with the birth of his daughters Amelia, Ava, Addison, and Alexa, the trials and tribulations of every family dynamic from forbidden love, surprise pregnancies, marriage and ultimately becoming a grandfather, brings Lex more joy than he could have ever imagined and he did it all with Charlotte by his side.

Highly recommend both the author and the book. Can't wait to see what else this author has in store for this extended family!

You won't want to miss reading about this family

Every book in the series and the second generation are brought to life in this book yet the book its uniquely new and an awesome read on its own! I can't wait to read the rest of the families POVs but also dig into the rest of the second generation! Thank you Kat for continuing their stories, making their stories binge worthy and each their own not necessarily duplicate! I love being able to.keep up with Charlotte, Lex, and Adriana while tackling another member of the families story! If you haven't read anyof the series you need to!!!

Hot dam I loved this!

Watching the woman you love with another man is the greatest pain of all. Hell, I should know.

I haven’t read the series before so I thought I would start here, before I read it.
I really really really enjoyed this!

I can see what Kat was trying to do with Alex’s book but it’s nothing like the others. It jumps and skips to different parts. I wanted to know more about the time with him and Samantha in the 9 years between. But it only skims over it. I wanted to know more about how he went from cool, kind, relaxed Alex to this it’s my way or the highway Lex. But we just skimmed the top. I did have a soft spot for Lex but in this book that soft spots hardened. Like how did they from twins at the scan to just Alexandra? Too many questions and not enough answers

I am so excited I got to read this book I truly missed Alex and Charlie and being alls to read from his POV was so fun. I almost forgot a lot of little details in their love story so having that refresher was fun.
I do wish this novella was created after craving love to actually put a cap on the end. I feel like it would have ended much better because of how Alexa’s story ended. I wish Kat will produce Charlottes novella, then my collection won NFS be complete. But nonetheless I will miss this family so much. …. Until I read it again- so long Edward’s family💚

I'm so happy that we got to see Lex's POV from all the emotions that he had gone through with his first marriage with Sammy, his medical career, his relationship with his dad, him meeting Charlotte the first time in the treehouse when they were kids, and how she claimed his heart when he bumped into her again when she was a teenager. Wish the second half had more cute Charlie and lex moments rather than being rushed chapters all about their kids or other characters’ drama with hardly any cute moments. Ig the author thought that once Charlie and Lex’s main drama was done that there was no point in focusing as much on their relationship as a whole, but come on girl idc about all that dumb shit give me some CharlieLex romance????

This book was everything I needed. I wish I knew to read it before the craving love series, but it was definitely worth it. Getting some of Lex’s POV in certain situations had me smiling, crying, and laughing. He will always be Alex in my eyes. All of these key moments needed to be heard. I wish there was a POV book on Charlie’s big moments too. Actually all of the characters about their kids from the Dark love series. Ugh.

Oh Lex. I loved all his moments, to Charlotte, his daughters to his first grandson. We also get the moment when Charlotte changed his life.
Speaking of his daughters we’re now on to Alexa’s story. They are butting heads at the moment, I mean her being his namesake they do share the same stubbornness. I was aghast at the ending, the little tidbit leaves you wanting more.

This was a cute little recap over these 2 series. I would definitely recommend reading BOTH of them before this one. I had not read the forbidden love series and it kind of caught me off guard but did not take away from it altogether. It was really cute to see Lex and Charlotte as parents and the GRANDPARENTS!!! :) I love them so much and it was a. Good trip down memory lane.

I was so excited to get this novella from Lex's perspective from Chasing Love. I was a little scared it would feel repetitive but Kat gave us some snippets we didn't get to see in any of the previous books! I LOVED LOVED LOVED getting inside the head of Lex back in the earlier years. It helped us understand him sooo much more.

Having to relive some of those moments absolutely hurt
my soul again but these were pivotal points for everyone so they were important to see from other perspectives.

I also loved that we got a little update to the present
timeline. getting to see and hear a little bit about where
everyone is currently made me so happy ☺️☺️

and then preparing us for the next spin-off of this series with craving love!?!? I am so excited but so scared to read about 🫣🫣

That was a fun trio down memory lane. I also learned new stuff about the couples. I wish Lex had gone back to Alex. I wish I had heard more from Charlie as well. This could have been a longer book, too.

I feel like this novella answered some questions from the previous series, but there are still a few unanswered questions. There was a lot of repeat details though, so it was quick to read through. I may read the next series at some point, but I’m going to take a little break and come back.

I am not sure about this book. I don't see the point of it and it almost felt like I was rereading the same things from the other books. While I enjoyed all of the series, I do not think the short stories are for me if they are just a collection of snippets of things I've already read.

Lex

I laughed and cried! The story of Elijah's passing was so very emotional for me. Laughed when Lex was afraid to get snipped, the things we as women do for the man we love.
Keep writing these stories! I will definitely be looking forward for the future books to come.

Lex 🥰🥰. He is my book boyfriend. I just love Lex. He has a tough exterior but he is really a big teddy bear, especially when it comes to the people he love. Lex is by @authorkattmasen is a novella that tells stories through Lex’s life but from his standpoint. It is a companion to “The Dark Love” Story” as well as “The Forbidden Love” series.
