The Unordered Mail Order Bride

Rate this book
There is nothing wrong with being a maid. She would do anything to survive in this unwelcome society and be with him.

“We’ll get out. We’ll be the first to do it someday. We’ll do it together, and together we’ll be unstoppable”, Everly said and she meant it! Her love for Dominic Farley, a rancher whose dream was to become a cook, was growing fast day after day. He was surprised by how a woman who had to overpass all these obstacles, managed to love him at last. She actually told the Sheriff that Dominic was the one who robbed her on her arrival in Texas. But Dominic could see the flame in her eyes.

Everly Huston came to Texas to marry a kind man and she wouldn’t leave until she did it! Dominic felt she was giving him air to breathe. So, it was about time to speak up for himself and leave his devious mother behind. She has been controlling his life for his whole life. Enough is enough!

But he couldn’t hate her! She was the one who brought Everly to Texas to marry him, without even telling him. But Everly turned out to be the woman who suited him perfectly. Would their love be strong enough to win Amaya's devious plans? Would the couple survive in a society that doesn't want either of them? And what about the Farley myth? Is this a family of criminals?

Is an HEA even possible?

Rita Wethers gives us a glimpse into a mail order bride gone wrong. Actually, so much was off the rose petal path of marital bliss that you had to admire the tenacity of Everly as she tries to survive while her groom languishes in jail. See what I mean - not want a bride expects when she gets off the stage. To be factual, her dreams were brought up short when her stage was held up.
As I listened to the first several chapters it was actually a bit humorous to read how the couple viewed their circumstances but the reality of Everly's shunning and the mindset of her groom's relative made the struggle she faced sad, serious and had me hoping for a solution. The author delivers what every reader hopes for - good over evil, an HEA, an exciting and entertaining story, a clean and sweet read for any age and an interesting study of a mind fixed on selfish desires rather than loving others.
I easily recommend this for any age.

Stay focused

Good story. Everything just seems to fall into its place and sorts itself out.
Everly becomes a mail-order bride after the family business and home burns down. Oh her way to her new home the train wagon is robbed and she sees one of the robbers. He even gives her his handkerchief.
Dominic is being controlled by his mother Amaya. She ordered &I'm a bride without his knowledge. Before he knows he has a bride he is jailed for the robbery.
Amaya is the character we all hate. She has done and still does terrible things. She imprisoned Everly.
Grab the book to find out what all she has done and what happens to Everly and Dominic.

Sometimes fate is a mystery but it will be interesting story to the end

Wow! What an excellent story! The characters are absolutely interesting and entertaining as well as the story line. I absolutely loved it with all the action, adventure and mystery. The book kept me engaged from beginning to end. I loved the extended epilogue with its amazing and unexpected ending. I must say love definitely conquers all. Beautiful love journey. A must read. Excellent writing and definitely recommend reading this amazing adventure of love.

It took til chapter 30 before I even liked this book, let alone enjoyed it. Depressing, nothing positive for any character, I can honestly say, way beyond dislike, I hate Amaya. Lies, deceit, death, controlling, manipulating, as I said, nothing positive. Stew was my fav character, even though he put up n allowed his sister to treat people like she did. As for McGregor n his gang that Dominic joined, they were never seen again, did they stay in hiding, leave town?

This is a wonderful book. I loved the characters. Even though I was given a copy of this book by the author, it in no way influenced my opinion and this is my honest review.

Good verses evil

A very well written book. The storyline was different from a lot of books which made it a nice read but with lots of bends and twists along the way.

Great clean romance

I enjoyed the drama and trials Dominic and Evelyn encountered as they developed their relationship. I recommend the story for the young adult reader.
