When a billionaire and his assistant bring change to the village, Michael has to adapt…
The future’s uncertain for Michael Fleming. He came to the sleepy Yorkshire village of Napthwaite a year ago as Thorpe Hall’s gardener, but now the Hall’s been sold…to billionaire hotelier Darryl Burlington.
When self-made Darryl and his handsome French assistant, François Vernier, come to set up the new property acquisition, they plan to find a willing third party to share their bed. Darryl and François aren’t together, but they like to celebrate success. But instead of indulging themselves in a treat after their hard work, they trigger events which no one could have foreseen.
This chain reaction Darryl, François and Michael leads to big changes in Napthwaite—and in all three men’s lives…
Reader advisory: This book contains instances of homophobia, and the deaths of a character and an animal.
I have written for as long as I could write. In fact, before, when I would dictate to my auntie. I love to read, and I love to create worlds and characters.
I live in the English countryside. When I’m not writing, I like to get out there and think through the next scenario I’m going to throw my characters into.
Inspiration can be found anywhere, on a train, in a restaurant or in an office. I am always in search of the next character to find love in one of my stories. In a world of apps and online dating, it is important to remember love can be found when you least expect it.
4.5 stars. There will be changes with impact coming to the people of the small village of Napthwaite. Self-made billionaire and Black British Business Award Winner, Darryl Burlington, owner of the Burlington Hotel Group will be the new owner of Napthwaite Thorpe Hall. He and his dedicated French assistant Francois will sleep at Thorn Hall for the time being.
Michael is Thorpe Hall’s gardener, and not sure if he still has a job with this new owner. One look at the man and Darryl and François know they found their new plaything. In every town where they set up a new project, they had play partners, willing guys who love to join the men in bed.
Darryl and François aren’t together, it would be awkward with work, etc. So they only have sex with a third, never together. Francois takes what he can get, Darryl will never have feelings for him, and François will never confess he loves him, that would be their end.
To keep Michael with them they aren’t clear and honest about their plans for the gardens. François is a sneaky player, he’s a vicious manipulator, with a venomous mouth, determined to all costs to keep Darryl close. Certainly not settle down in this village with small-minded people, and never let Michael come too close, even though he got feelings for the stunningly handsome man with his big heart.
So far so good… not really. We learned already from the previous books of this series, never take the people of Napthwaite for granted. They want to know every possible change with Thorpe Hall.
Michael is happy with these two guys and has big plans for the gardens of Thorpe Hall. If he only knew!
Gosh, this is another impressive story from this series. The interactions between the three men were hot. They fit like a glove. The whole story was consistently written, the characters are exquisite portrayed, certainly François who has a significant role. The village slash Thorpe Hall matters were captivating, I loved everything about it. We meet the guys from the previous stories again. Overall a hugely entertaining story, smoothly written, consistent, with hot encounters. I enjoyed it all very much!
Napthwaite has created another throuple. "Lets travel the world and create shit." It's a good thing these three are mobile, or Napthwaite would be overrun! All kidding aside, this was a very different story then the Three's Company. Michael was the gardener at Thorpe Hall, but now that Will convinced his father to sell he's unsure of his future. Darryl and François have grand plans to turn Thorpe Hall into a grand hotel, and are always looking to add a man for their pleasure while working. Unaware of these plans Michael is drawn to both men. The chemistry is explosive, but old habits work against them. François and Darryl's history has some major issues that Michael has to work to overcome, along with the hotel problem for the village. François is almost too unlikable, but that's not entirely his fault. I was really happy with how the author didn't make their love story easy and sweet.
At first I really didn't like Darryl and François on how they treated Michael. When a storm hit the small town Darryl opened the hall to the villagers who needed a place to stay. It wasn't easy for Darryl and even François but they deserved what they got from everyone. This was a great series and I really enjoyed reading all the books. I received an ARC of this book for my honest review.
Another captivating addition to the Village Affairs series with three new characters to love and hate at the same time. And, the updates on previous characters is always welcome and definitely appreciated! But with updates also came unexpected tragedies.
Michael, Darryl, and Francois were rather interesting. Their dynamic together is fitting, though there were times of jealousy, which is to be expected from a throuple. But, their intimacy (together and separate) was eruptive! The foundation was already in place, Michael just intensified their efforts.
“𝕃𝕖𝕥’𝕤 𝕥𝕣𝕒𝕧𝕖𝕝 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕨𝕠𝕣𝕝𝕕 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕔𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕥𝕖 𝕤𝕙𝕚𝕥.”
Excited to see where Kristian goes next with this series, though Napthwaite is becoming quite filled with throuples they may have to create their own village.
This is another great book in the series. Michael, Darryl, and Francois are quite the group. Michael is practical and crazy talented. Darryl is relentless. Francois is a piece of work. Not a bad guy, but he’s almost convinced himself he is. He can be vicious, and it nearly cost him everything. I thought Darryl was going to end up as the bad guy, too. The setting of Napthwaite and Thorne Hall is wonderful. It’s vividly depicted and seems so charming. I read it in one go!
Firstly let me say I’ve got this book of the romance reviews and this is me leaving my honest review. Wow couldnt put this book down, there is so much going on in his book. Michael who is Gardner up at Thorne Hall working for Matthew. But after Matthews heart attack he decides to sell off Thorpe Hall Matthew gives a cottage to Michael to living rent free until he finds another job. When will the new occupiers come Michael goes up to see if they still need him as their garden.
Darryl Burlington is a self-made billionaire. Burlington hotels was going to make Thorpe Hall into a hotel for people to get away too. Daryl’s assistant is a man called François and boy is he a character. But what these two do is every new hotel they go to look at they find another man and they enjoy having a threesome. But Darryl and François have an agreement that they don’t sleep with each other without a third. François is the voice that Daryl sometimes needs he is straight to the point He really doesn’t care who he hurts. When they’ve moving to Yorkshire and Thorpe Hall they had grand ideas but that included getting rid of the gardens for a car park. Well that was until Daryl met Michael and then he decided to string him along even to the point of giving him a retainer fee so he could get to know him better. Because Darryl wanted Michael in his bed. Don’t get me wrong there was an attraction between all three of them and it wasn’t long until they were in bed. Daryl and François were hiding the fact that they were stringing him along. It’s such a complex book you’ve got three totally different personalities that shouldn’t work but it does but Frankie I’m going to call him Frankie because he doesn’t like that name starts to get jealous of the fact that Daryl has a real connection with Michael. Because Frankie had been in love with Daryl for many years but he felt he had to hide it or Daryl would dropping him like a stone. So what could come of these three individuals being one??
I honestly could not put this book down I really like Michael Michael is no messing what you see is what you get he is such a nice man taking care of the people around him. I was so glad he had so many friends within the village and it was great to see the guys from previous books. I couldn’t take to Frankie for a long time but then you come to understand him and it makes much more sense. And Daryl I found to be very rude at times not given a damn about anyone but himself but it seems the village of Napthwaite and Michael Has really got to him. It’s just a brilliant read. And I think you’ll go through a lot of emotions reading this book I know I did.
I have to be honest; this book didn’t grab me at first but after a while I warmed up to it. It may just have been my mood when I read it but I wasn’t feeling a good connection between the characters. I love menage stories but this one was just pretty good for me.
I’ve said before how much I enjoy reading books written by authors from other cultures as I always learn a lot and that was still true for this story. However, there were quite a few sayings (not things easily looked up) that I didn’t quite get and they distracted me just a bit while reading. I know that this is my issue and not the author’s. It’s just that it’s the first time I can remember having this problem which is why I’m guessing that it was my mood when I read the book.
Michael is a wonderful character and person and Darryl is also likeable most of the time. Francois is another story. I guess he’s the character we’re maybe supposed to love to hate until he finally wakes up and gets with the program. He’s been in love with Darryl for years but won’t tell him. When it looks like Michael is getting close to Darryl (beyond them having sexy time as a threesome) Francois feels threatened and the way he reacts is just plain mean and spiteful.
I did enjoy seeing more of the characters from the first two books. The townspeople really rallied around when it was needed (when a new venture in the town threatened their way of life). You can probably read this as a standalone but I think you will enjoy it more if you’ve read at least book two first. There’s a reader advisory about the death of a character. While I found this part sad it didn’t really get to me that much as it wasn’t a main character.
Once again, I enjoyed the setting for this series. The descriptive writing makes me want to visit a place like this village.
A copy of this book was provided to me at my request and my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.
DNF @ 30%. This one had started dangerously close to DNF territory and went downhill from there. Usually in order to get readers invested in your MMM romance you need a majority of likeable main characters. Sadly, unlike the previous two books in the series, this was not the case here. Darryl and Francois rubbed me the wrong way from page one and it only got worse and worse. Even when they were being "charitable" and "gallant" they always had a hidden agenda. Obnoxious, cynical, arrogant, manipulative, selfish and entitled. Reading their cold dialogue was very much like hearing nails scratching chalkboard. Was the author aiming for a cute boss-employee banter there? He missed his mark spectacularly. Ugh. Obviously the author is gunning for a redemption arc or a personality transplant for these two and is willing to apply multiple random village tragedies for that purpose, but I just can't buy it. Sorry. That's just a Hallmark movie fantasy/cliche, the charming little village/sweet and hot guy melting the frost around shriveled billionaire hearts. That's not how adults operate in real life, in my experience. It's actually a pretty dangerous idea to believe in. I guess my fury is mostly my fault as I was willing to buy such personality transplants for side characters on the previous books (Liz and Matthew), but it's just too much here. I can't cheer for these kind of people finding love, sorry, they don't deserve it. Michael seemed sweet and I wish he had a better taste in men. Alas, this is another case of my most hated romance trope, Beautiful/Rich-People-Get-A-Free-Pass.
I’ll start with Michael here, since he was, for me, the most (and sometimes only) compelling member of the throuple. He’s thoughtful, skilled, and good at the job that the arrival of Darryl (a driven billionaire) and Francois (the somewhat ruthless assistant) throws into uncertainty. I liked the setting of this story, which really shone and was often the best part of the narrative for me. I came to have more affection for Darryl and Francois, although they didn’t always make it easy: each has ingrained assumptions, habits and attitudes that can be a lot, and not necessarily in a good way. There’s something to be said, however, for characters who start out as borderline unlikable and accumulate depth and likability over time, and I think the author does a nice job with that here.
*I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Napthwaite a small English village has some small-minded locals who always poke their noses in where they should not!
Michael Fleming a gardener at Thorpe Hall is worried that his job will be non-existent as Thorpe Hall has been bought by hotelier Daryl Burlington. Daryl comes with his assistant Francois they have bigger plans for Thorpe Hall .when the three men meet sparks develop, igniting their sexual appetites, they have a taste test knowing that once won’t be enough. The plans to improve Thorpe Hall seem rather drastic to Michael and most of the villagers, word gets around and things turn unpleasant. Can the situation be resolved? Can Daryl, Francois and Michael find a steady footing to grow their lives? Another superbly written book in the Village Affairs series. It’s a book that flows easily that took me on a wonderful journey.
It's not me, it's complicated. Michael, came to Napthwaite to work as a gardner. Darryl, owner of Burlington Hotel Group purchases the Hall. He and his assistant, Francois usually celebrate BHG acquisitions by inviting a third in their physical romps. They decide Michael will be a fun candidate. Darryl, controls the relationship. Francois, keeps his crush secret to keep the professional team, professional. The townspeople are conflicted about the unknown future. Michael is hopeful for his future. Darryl and Francois are keeping their plans for the Hall to themselves. Interesting story. It's good because the characters are absolutely human with all the ambitions, quirks, defenses and lack of communications and miscommunications. Michael, Darryl and Francois are good men. The story has an excellent flow and getting to know each man explains a lot. Very well done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I met Kristian Parker just before this book was published and he told me he'd saved the best til last and he really wasn't lying!!! This book was a total joy to read and I'm bereft that it's the last one. I'm definitely going to be reading all of KP's other books and will be going back and reading his back catalogue.
This particular book is full of the snarky, stroppy, loving, funny, emotional, smexy, characters living their best lives, connecting during the worst and best of times in this odd village that breeds and accepts throuples.
I loved this book and totally recommend it to you, along with the first two in the series, for your Kindle today. xx
I received a copy of this book via the Gay Romance Reviews and provide my honest review voluntarily
As the gardener at Thorpe Hall, Michael knew that changes were likely coming when it was purchased by a billionaire. Then Darryl came to town, with Francois his assistant in tow. They are not a couple but their relationship is more than business. And although Michael is drawn into their universe as a third he is not really made privy to their plans for the estate and most importantly, the gardens. This trio is complex, and Francois was not always likeable in that he could be a bit shifty at times. These three have a lot of good chemistry but there is more going on than meets the eye in their business and personal interactions which makes this an engaging read. I received an ARC from GRR and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Intriguing characters and lots of drama kept this story entertaining. Although Darryl, François, and Michael are certainly hot together, I really didn't care for François, and that made it hard to really, really like this story. I enjoyed the setting and the quirky village. Unclear communication (intentional secrecy?) add to the challenges Michael faces with the new owners of Thorpe Hall. New feelings, jealousy, growth, and changing perspectives fuel the story, but I had some difficulty believing in Darryl's and François' changes. It kind of had me feeling like Michael deserved better. That's just me, YMMV.

After two stars for the Rule Of Three, all for my beloved and maligned Ed, and three and a half stars for Three's Company, I had hoped that Kristian had saved the best for last but, I suppose not unexpectedly, I was sadly mistaken. Seeing characters from the first two books helped the story along, even the avaricious Liz, but Michael deserved two princes instead of the money-rich human decency-poor, vacuous, promiscuous, vain, entitled, self-absorbed, grind-the-peasants-under-my-heel Prince Harrys he was saddled with. Darryl was weak and vacillated throughout, letting François get away with murder, and gave absolutely no indication of how he managed to amass a hotel empire. He didn't even know the password to get into his own emails, couldn't make himself a cup of coffee. It's a wonder he knew how to dress himself. François allegedly had a good and kind man hiding beneath his vicious bitch queen persona, but you'd have to dig right through to Australia to find it. The vituperative remarks he flung at Michael were so unpleasant and completely uncalled for, not even if he was feeling threatened and especially not if he cared for the man (though I seriously doubt that François was capable of loving anyone but himself). Michael was a good man, a lovely character who was entitled to be treated with respect but got completely the opposites from those two parasites. I'm not quite sure how I made it to the end but I think it was in the vain hope that Michael would tell them to go fuck themselves and rescue a couple of dogs instead, because those two were definitely not any man's best friend.
I did not really like the dynamic between Daryl and Francois in the beginning. I understand having an open relationship, but I just did not feel they had good chemistry. And then when Michael comes onto the scene, I really did not get a good vibe from the trio. Maybe because I have not read the first two books in the series, I just feel like the connection is not there. Other than that, it was a good read and very entertaining. The town characters made me laugh. The sexy times were hot and steamy. It's worth the read, but I recommend reading the first two books first before this one.

Another sweet MMM romance between two guys who knew each other before and couldn't/didin't make their relationship work but when they add the write third the relationship flourishes. Darryl and Francois work together and have fun with a third whenever they stay for a time developing their new hotel. Francois wants a relationship always but is afraid to tell Darryl. When they meet Michael the connection is immediate but will it last? Another MMM from this author filled with steam, angst and village influence but ends with a satisfying HEA.
Triple Intent was a great read! Michael is the gardener at Thorpe Hall, and it’s been sold to a billionaire. Darryl and Francois have plans for the hall. Michael is drawn to Darryl and Francois unaware of their plans. Darryl and Francois are already a couple of sorts, always willing to bring in a third. All three together have insane chemistry. I had a passionate dislike for Francois, he is sneaky and manipulative with a vicious tongue. Overall, a good read. Well written with pacing that kept my interest.
François had shared men with his boss Darryl for over eight years, never letting on how he felt about him. After another night of inconsequential sex he wondered “When did meaningless sex become such hard work?” They travel the world creating new hotels and meeting new men. Their newest acquisition comes with a gardener named Michael.
Townies add some smile moments as does François. However I just didn’t feel the draw to François. He was not a likable character and was written with a lot of harshness. Took to the end of the book to become less of an automaton, Darryl was less aggravating and Michael was a naive sweetheart.
Nice addition to the series. I liked it.

I love the way this author never gives us characters that are all 100% loveable. They have their prickly sides like Francois here. I'm also a fan of stories where we have a small village having to deal with the challenges of modernisation/change and the good and bad that come with that. Each book in this series has gotten better and better.
Although this story was easy to read and follow, my head was so dizzy from all the backwards and forwards, to-ing and fro-ing of the manipulation of one character. A good sign is that he raised such strong emotions in me. The main characters and friends were likable and the small town vibe is always enchanting.
MMM, Ménage/Poly/Harem, Contemporary, Romance. The third book in the series it can be read as a stand-alone but slot of the side characters are in the previous books. Easy to read with, drama angst, passion and a fast moving plot, despite some twists and turns there is a guaranteed HEA. An enjoyable novella.
He arrived in the village a year ago and he is enjoying life but it is all about to change when the place he works at is sold. He loves gardening and he wonders is he will still had a job. It seems their arrival will set off a chain reaction which will leave you in tears. What will happen? How will they deal with it all? See just how they all get on
So, I’ve read the first 2 books and really did enjoy them. I’ll be honest though, a third book with another triad in the same town… meh….. And, as much as I like the character Michael, the other two, not so much. Story is well written with the usual angst and drama all set in a small town. Received an arc of this book and voluntarily leave my review.
I didn’t read the first two books in this series, but I definitely will. For the most part, I thought the story was well-written and had a decent amount of drama. It took me a minute to like the three together, but I really enjoyed this story once I did. Michael was my favorite, then Francois, and then… Darryl.
4,5* Another MMM romance the Village Affairs series, book three. These men had to grow on me for a bit, but the story was well written so that did not deter me from getting engrossed in the story. Darryl and François are hardworking but have a seemingly hedonistic lifestyle that worked for them, till it didn't anymore when the stakes became to high once in Napthwaite. There they met Michael, who enjoyed them, but would not be treated as 'plaything'. This caused Darryl and François to become have a goos look at themselves to deceide if they dare to follow their hearts instead of just money and the next 'person' to play with.
I received a free copy of this book through mmromancereviewed and I leave my ho est and personal review.
When I read the last Village Affairs book I was charmed by Micheal. And I was so happy to see he was getting his own HEA. I liked Darryl from the start but it took a little longer to warm up to Francois. And as always the citizens of Napthwaite were my favorite. It was wonderful to see them work their magic on the newcomers.
I love books with thruples in them. This one didn’t disappoint. I also love the books of Kristan Parker and again, not disappointed. The writing moved along at a great clip and kept me reading to know what would happen next. I’ve read the others in this series and loved them, so seeing Michael in this one made me happy. I’m glad I picked this one up.
Michael, the gardener, has kept the property’s gardens in tiptop shape. I loved his dedication to his plants. He’s concerned he might not have a place when the new owners show up. Darryl is a billionaire and loves to have a third in his relationship. He’s been sharing his bed with his assistant Francois for years and knows there is a third out there for him. There is love in this story, but also complication and misunderstanding, which makes sense and made the characters more human.
It took me a bit to warm up to Francois, but once I did, I liked him more. He’s hurting because he’s been in love with Darryl for years and is fine with sharing him, but he’s unsure of how Darryl truly feels for him. When he thinks he’s been edged out, he lashes out. It’s mean at times, but understandable.
If you’re looking for something hot, with a thruple and packed with great writing, then try this series. I highly recommend.
