The Mafia's Captive

I’ve watched her. Wanting her. Needing her.
An obsession driving me close to the edge.
I’m content with only watching her from afar.
I cannot taint her with my dark heart.
Until I found out her true nature.
Not only is she a liar and a thief,
She's also working with my nemesis
That, I cannot tolerate
For that, she has to pay.
Not only with her body, but with so much more
After I'm done with her, she will know not to cross a man like Dante Morelli.

Publisher's Note: This book is part of a series but it can be read as a standalone. It is an enemies-to-lovers romance with a guaranteed happily-ever-after.

The story itself I actually enjoyed and it was just a quick read. Sometimes the writing would pull me out of the story. The book needs to be edited as there were many writing mistakes that were really distracting to me.

This book felt very mediocre, I didn’t really like the writing style. This felt like anybody and everybody can get a book to be published. I hope for the sake of this author I hope she gets a better editor because there were just too many grammatical mistakes throughout the book. Now into usually a stickler for that but there were too many time where SHE became a HE and in the moment it just stops the flow. I like the concept of the book but everything felt predictable everything felt like it was just didn’t have any depth to the characters. I felt like she wanted to give them a unique backstory but it just fell flat very quickly. Idk I just felt disappointed. I had moments when it peaked my interest but again it tend to fall flat.. I’m not opposed to reading the next book one day I just hope the writing has matured a lot from when this book was made.

terrific Mafia Romance 💝

I really love Mafia Romances and this one is excellent, it has the Captured and Kept Prisoner Trope or whatever one calls this particular trope. Anyway I thought it was particularly good, I first read the second book in this series before I read this book, but I still enjoyed reading this one quite a lot. Each of the books are pretty standalone, so one can do it 😂

This author deserves more clout🙌

Was this the greatest book in the world? No.

But did it make me feel every type of emotion, get me out of a reading slump, and want to read every book by this author? Yes, yes it did. 😍😍

But hold on now. I said I liked it. Not that it was good😭

What can I say? Ive been a sucker for Mafia books. That has been my go-to since day 1. 😭From Episode to Wattpad to real books.

I really loved how there wasnt instant love but u could still feel the tension smoldering. And the tension also didnt dissipate throughout the book. 🤘🤭

The background characters had me inna chokehold and that doesnt normal happen for me. BUT COLLIN AND NICO AND RICO AWWWW😍😍. usually background characters are so irrelevant to me I forget who they are not them tho.

It was a rlly good transition into future books 👏

Idk I js liked it. It had lots of grammatical errors but I dont think its took away from the story yk🕺🙌

I was genuinely shocked in parts of the book. The plot was somewhat unique. Im a simple-minded gal. It dont take much to entertain me. 👀👀

So if u want a spicy mafia romance thats has such a weird fast and slow pace to it. Here u go.

It has flaws, but what book doesnt, smth told me to give it 4 stars. Idk guess im not being stingy td w my ratings💀💀

Wow, okay, so where to start…
The first chapter had my attention IMMEDIATELY. Straight into the action, gobbled me up like I’d love to do to Dante.
I started this at like, 2:30 in the morning and was thinking maybe just a quick little chapter before bed. Every reader’s first mistake. Ended up at Chapter Four before blacking the fuck out for some sleep. So basically, I couldn’t put it down until my body decided that reading time was over; if that helps you understand how good this book is.
The teddy bear? The fucking teddy bear! I love it!
Alright, I’ll admit it, this book is pretty damned good. The tension, the back-and-forth, the twists and reveals! I’m in love! If mafia romances are your thing then this is the book to read!

There were a few scenes that I wasn’t a huge fan of, but that’s the same with any book and overall this was a good read, so I’m going to go 7.5/10

This mafia book was brilliant from the beginning to end. I love the characters personalities, Corina is a feisty and Dante is the typical Italian mafia male. The connection of the two characters could really be felt throughout the authors work. the storyline really flowed and made it very enjoyable to say the least. The was the first book I have read by Piper Knox and wow what a wonderful book to read.

another DNF

Can someone please write a decent book? This is another in a long string of stinkers. When he threatened her with rape, then gang rape and cutting off her breasts to throw to the dogs to play with that was disgusting. Too close to exactly what happened in Israel and I just couldn’t finish. When she offered herself up to be a wh*re to save a friend who betrayed her on the long run I quit reading and skimmed ahead to make sure I was right and she was stupid and the girl played her for a fool. Dislikable characters isn’t even strong enough to express how awful they were. Skip this mess. Yuck!!!

Really good book, but needs some editing.

This was a really good read - great storyline with just enough explicit material to make it "yummy" without going overboard and losing the story itself. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because there were a lot of grammatical errors which detracted from the immersive reading experience that I was looking for. I just corrected it mentally and moved on and I'm glad I did. It really is a fun read, just needs a good editing redo.

The story had great promise, but whoever edited the book did a very poor job. It was littered with typing errors, words missing from sentences or jumbled around, wrong names used making many sentences unreadable. It took me twice as long to read as I was having to guess what the author was trying or meant to say which spoilt the flow of the book. I'm just thankful that I got it from Kindle unlimited.

Absolutely love this, it's a cracking read. I loved both main characters and many side characters too - Dante's brothers, Colin, Rob 😭.

There were some editing errors that should have been picked up but overall I thought this is a really brilliant read and I might well read it again. I look forward to the next in the series.

I loved the characters Dante and Corina. She’s feisty and Dante is the typical Italian male.
I loved all the brothers Rico, Nico and Gio. They all knew the connection between Dante and Corina before he knew.
Can’t wait to read the next book

Huh

This book has a good story plot. It wasn't well edited. Some sentences don't make sense. Like wrong word used or wrong name. But even with that I enjoyed the book as a whole. The romance story itself was a good one.

Great read

I do like a book that grabs you from the beginning, and holds your attention to the very end. Dante and Corina have become lovers in no time at all, but the fact that her father is the enemy of Dante causes great hostility.

There were a lot of typos especially towards the end but I haven’t enjoyed a mafia book in a long time so it gets bonus points for that

It was a good story, just very predictable. And I really wanted to overlook the mistakes in the book, but there were so many. Seems more like a rough draft than a finished product.

So many errors

There were so many grammatical errors it was almost impossible to read. The story line was not very captivating, very mundane.

Enthralling

This story kept me glued the whole time. Never a moment when something wasn't happening, be it thrilling, dangerous or romantic. Needs a better editor but a great story.

Too many spelling/grammatical errors.

There are better mafia books out there. Wouldn’t even really consider this one. Felt lacking.

All the Mafia vibes including dangerous attraction, intrigue, betrayal, and finally a HEA. No cliffhanger, but I've started Book 2 right away.

With proper editing, this would've been a better book. I liked the story and mc's. But, with the grammar mistakes throughout, I was rereading sentences to figure out what the words were supposed to be.
